Good for you redder.

From what I have read there is no truly accurate way to measure your body fat. I think the key thing is to choose one method and stick to that for consistency.

Body Fat % chart here

Just did it. I would have been annoyed at myself if I hadn't. Was a lot more do able today. ( day 4, level 2.) Though I still am replacing the plank twists my arms just can't hold me straight after all the plank jacks yet. College said today how slim I was looking. Told her of not actually lost any and she said I look like I've lost about stone in two weeks. So that's good enough for me
Well done and keep going everyone.

NicknameInUse · 06/12/2010 21:45

Hi all. You lot are doing so well! Smile

I've just done my whimpy shred and have decided that for tomorrow I'm going to do what I can from Level 2 just so I can keep on trying to push myself as much as possible in my current (shite) condition - mix things up a bit to try and boost my moral (it really needs it right now).
Maybe I shouldn't even be posting here anymore seen as I'm not a proper Shredhead? Ah well you're stuck with me now! Grin Hmm

acebaby · 06/12/2010 22:22

NicknameInUse - you are doing splendidly. Level 2 is not so bad. The Anita version is quite mild. Give it a go and keep posting Smile

I am back after 2 days off to get rid of a heavy cold. I was trembling a bit in parts (day 2 level 2), but stumbled through somehow. I am saved by my lack of co-ordination (seriously slow with those twisty jumps and unable to comprehend the abs plank thing)

But, despite all my shirking and faking and inability to do any of the abs properly, I am 1kg lighter and
have lost 1.5 inches off my waist, 1.5 inches off my hips and 1 inch off each thigh (I haven't measured my arms as they aren't particularly a problem area for me) Grin. I'm really pleased with my inch loss, but most of all pleased with my improvement in strength.

UnrequitedSkink · 06/12/2010 23:05

Had the weekend off (ran out of time on Saturday and hungover on Sunday!Blush) but managed to kick myself up the bum and shredded tonight. I went back to Level 1 (did day 1 of Level 2 on Friday)and was quite pleased at (almost) breezing through it. I am definitely getting stronger, it's really satisfying! Don;t think I've lost any inches though... my clothes seem to fit me the same. Maybe if you haven't got a lot to lose it takes longer? Going to stick with it though, and maybe measure at the weekend.

bumpybecky · 06/12/2010 23:48

I did day 4 (on day 5!) level 1 this evening. DH and dd2 joined in too. DH was putting me off a bit as he kept making me laugh and I can't do push ups when laughing! I'm not shredding in the evening again - I've got 4 dcs and my pelvic floor can't handle jumping jacks that late in the day Blush

nomorecake · 07/12/2010 00:38

ahhhh! here you all are! i've been on the chat thread that seems to have disappeared.

well today was crap, should have been day 15 (day 5 of level 2) but i just couldnt do it. finally needed a rest.

lack motivation at the moment though.

but on the other hand, got really pissy with dh today, i think its because i couldnt do my 20 mins. Not his fault, but took it out on him anyway.

what has happened to me?? i crave it and loathe it at the same time.

NicknameInUse · 07/12/2010 09:49

Oh wow! I've just taken front and side photos and compared them to the first ones I took two weeks ago....what a difference!! I'm so proud of myself! My stomach and waist look soooo much better Grin

Took measurements too and have lost an extra 1.5" each off my waist and hips. That makes it a total loss of 3" off each! 6 bloody inches off my middle! Hoorah!

Please excuse my gushing Blush I just wasn't expecting this considering how much I've been held back this week with my knees.

Thanks very much ace - I'm really looking forward to trying Level 2 later, I watched it last night and Shock

prettybirdinapeartree · 07/12/2010 10:25

Did Level 3 again yesterday: really pleased that I managed to do all of the 2nd set of plank push ups in Circuit 1 Natalie's way :)

Won't be Shredding today as ds is at home (all Glasgow schools are shut), so we'll go and play in the snow somewhere. I'll make up with some more snow clearing: did 3 hours clearing the driveway yesterday with dh (so we could now get the car out if we needed to) but we still have to dig a path to the door.

Dh has commented that my tummy has nearly "gone" :) - he said fro a wee while, at my heaviest, it was almost looking as if I were pregnant Blush

notyummy · 07/12/2010 10:55

Great work ladies - very inspiring.

bumpybecky · 07/12/2010 11:29

just done day 5 level 1 and :) I managed all of it apart from the bicycle crunches in circuit 3 - those kill, so did normal crunches instead. I'm sure you'll all be please to know my pelvic floor held up very well! Blush

bumpybecky · 07/12/2010 11:30

and plank anythings sound scary, so Natalie plank push ups are positively terrifying! well done prettybird!

prettybirdinapeartree · 07/12/2010 11:35

Bumbybecky: first time round doing the Shred, I couldn't do them at all. You're in plank position, but with your foreames on the ground. You then have to lift up onto your hands, one at a time, and then back down onto the forearms again, befroe starting again with the other arm "starting" frist time.

I would send the message to my arm/shoulder (if you see what I mean) to lift up, but it would not move. Shock

ALovelyBunchOfBaubles · 07/12/2010 12:45

Day 2 level one done. My oh my it was harder today, things were still tight and achy from yesterday but I did it all. I find the side lunges on the last circuit the hardest, probably because I'm sore from the earlier ones! Climbing the stairs is mighty hard today!

Not looking forward to these plank things you're all speaking of!!

NicknameInUse · 07/12/2010 12:53

Just did Level 2 for the first time! Really enjoyed it (in a 'I'm about to die' kind of way)!
Was able to do more of the cardio stuff than on Level 1 because there's less jumping. Much happier today than I was yeterday. Plenty of improving to do though! Ha!

annoyingdevil · 07/12/2010 13:20

Really? is the cardio easier in level 2. finding the jumping jacks a problem due to the size of my erm chest (plus I don't own a sports bra)

I have done about a week on level one, and was planning to move up over the weekend, after sports bra purchase, assuming I can find a shop selling Dawn French sized ones

NicknameInUse · 07/12/2010 13:34

There's still jumping jacks in L2 but not as many - just 2 sets if I recall correctly (I replaced them with more knee friendly alternatives though) and a lot of the cardio isn't as 'bouncy'. Grin still call for a sports bra though . I did the firt 3 days without one and it makes such a difference.

sue52 · 07/12/2010 15:44

Have just ordered my DVD. Are you all combining the exercise with diet? The inch loss seems to good to be true.

NicknameInUse · 07/12/2010 16:05

Nope sue no diet for me! I think pretty much everyone else is though to some extent. Roast beef dinner and cheesecake for me tonight! Blush Grin

sue52 · 07/12/2010 16:09

Oh, I can't wait to get started in that case.
Xmas Grin

bumpybecky · 07/12/2010 16:38

I'm on a very seasonal mince pie diet at the moment. Vitally important to eat at least one mince pie between every meal and snack! Grin

MickyLee · 07/12/2010 17:37

My diet so far today consists of-

Egg and cheese omlette with wholemeal bread
Pasty filled with mincemeat (diet suicide)
Homemade pizza
banana
half an apple (left over from DS)
3 chocolate roses
Coffee and tea both with suger x3

and still losing inches!!!

Have been trying my best to avoid white bread and suger but failed on most days :(

MickyLee · 07/12/2010 19:53

You can add a bowl of Special K to that list now Grin

Day 17 finished. Had to do it in the evening instead of my usual morning. Prefer to do it in the morning though because it frightens me that my motavaion will have been drained because of tiredness. However, bonus of evening shred is I can follow it with a nice long soak in the bath instead of a quick shower!

Only 2 more days of level 2 then I am heading to 3.

Oh and the Shred thread isn't moving as fast anymore. What has happened to everyone?

NicknameInUse · 07/12/2010 20:13

Haha Micky, I passed on the cheesecake, not because I'm being good you understand, I just ate way to much roast dinner! Grin

I was thinking exactly the same, quite a few people have disappeared recently. It's no good!

nomorecake · 07/12/2010 21:29

Day 15 done! half way hooray!!!
wow cant believe i've stuck with it!

i feel so much better, having taken a day off. and gave the workout my all.

glad to see i'm not the only one scoffing nibbling mince pies.
