Haha bless you ouch!!!!! Not quite a shredding injury but ended up with a shredded foot!

acebaby · 29/11/2010 21:41

Just finished day 6 (or maybe day 7??). It went really well. I even managed a few manly press-ups for the first time in my life Grin.

Welcome back Dilys and welcome to all the newbies.

ouch sugarmuppet. I hope your foot feels better tomorrow Sad. Good luck with the job interview! I bet you'll look fantastic in your interview outfit after all your hard work...

DilysPrice · 29/11/2010 21:47

Dilys is speaking though a ouija board on the grounds that she is dead. She wishes you all to know that it is very peaceful here, and to pass on her posthumous advice that it is important to have a proper lunch if you are going to do an evening shred.

Fortunately her DH is currently cooking a curry with extraordinary resuscitative properties, and she will be rejoining you all on the Great Shred tomorrow (having had a proper bloody lunch).

ThatVikRinA22 · 29/11/2010 22:33

some of the moves i can follow natalie....others - not a snowballs chance in hell.

i will never be able to that many full pressups. (and i have been weight training for nearly a year on upper body strength using 2 x 10kg dumbells to pass a fitness test!)

the lunges. not in a month of sundays will my knee go that low....

some of the moves i think my weights are too low. then i go into the push up with the squat and i can barely keep going for the full 3 mins...

i really want this to work!!

what is everyone eating while shredding? im useless at diets but i eat pretty healthily most of the time anyway.

mummyshreddingnora · 30/11/2010 08:16

ouccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhwoke up this morning with my legs, back and arms KILLING me!!!!!!!!!!!!! My god were my hamstrings tight! So had a good stretch out and feel not too bad now - apart from the usual achey limbs.... am debating trying level 2 tonight Confused ......

Dilys your post made me laugh out loud in the office!

redderthanred · 30/11/2010 09:35

dily - are you alive yet?
:)

Day 9, level 1 done. I am going to miss level one,I like it. Its like an old friend. I know where i stand with it. I know when Killian says ' if you feel like you want to die, look at anita' When i felt like i wanted to die, i hoped Anita held some magical healing solution. Now im like ' ha, fuck you, i dont want to die!'
When she says she wants it to Burn, i feel it burn, but i know there is like 15 seconds left and i can hang on in there.
When she says Its meant to hurt, because it doesnt come for free, i push harder.
Last day of level 1 tomorrow and then a ...3rd of the programme completed. ( and im rather impressed ive made it this far)

I cant actually believe ive come this far. I have never in my whole life exercised this hard. But i have a funny feeling this is just the beginning.

peaky123 · 30/11/2010 09:44

Hi, can I join please? I have a wedding on the 18th of December and serious issues with getting into any of my clothes! I plan to shred while my 6 month old is napping. What sort of weights does everybody use?

NicknameInUse · 30/11/2010 10:30

Right. Measurements done after a week (haven't done today's shred yet though so it's 6 days shredding), losses are;

Waist ~ 1.5"
Hips ~ 1.5"
Right arm (only measured one arm and leg!) ~ 1"
Thigh ~ 0! No change at all! Sad

Overall, very happy! Perplexed with no loss on thigh though - they've been murdered over the last week! Confused Angry

MickyLee · 30/11/2010 10:49

nickname well done. 1inch from your arm is loads too. Can you imagine how many inches you will have lost after 30 days!!

chocoholic · 30/11/2010 11:52

Well done on your inch losses Nickname.

Peaky, my weights are 3lbs each but you can use anything up to about 5lb I think (or more if you are totally mental).

Day 12 done for me and I'm really hurting on level 2.
My calves are really giving me grief. Anyone got any good stretches for the outer calf muscle?

Good going red, you have become our motivational coach I think Grin.

MickyLee · 30/11/2010 12:40

Day 11 finished. Did level 2 today.. those fly swots are a killer.

I am using 2 kg in each hand (think thats about 4.5lbs) at first I wished i had got lighter ones but now I can manage all level 1 with them I am happy I didn't.

nettie · 30/11/2010 12:54

Just started shredding on day 3 of level one, are you all doing it everyday or having rest days in between, thought I'd do 3 days shredding, rest day 3 days shredding etc.

NicknameInUse · 30/11/2010 13:02

Thanks choc and Micky! Can't help but be disapointed with not loosing anything off my thighs though. I was shocked at loosing and inch off my arm, had to double check! Been doing extra weights stuff so I'm glad it's paying off...time to do extra sit ups! Grin

Day 7 done for me. Have upped to 2kg on everything but the side lunges - I find those anterior raises really hard, still on 1kg for them.

Has anyone else noticed that on the first set of static lunges in circuit 2 when it goes over to Anita, Natalie is only doing the bicep curls (without lunging)! Shock
Even she finds them hard Grin

NicknameInUse · 30/11/2010 13:27

. . . Maybe squats would be more useful to shrink my thighs than sit ups . . . Hmm

MickyLee · 30/11/2010 14:04

Yessss Natalie cheats heheheGrin

She is human after all.

Joby1970 · 30/11/2010 14:08

NICKNAMEINUSE: Natalie eases off quite a bit in level 2 & 3 - she is sneaky.

Sorryy cannot rememeber everyone's names as jsut caught up with 5 pages of the thread (since Friday)...

to the OP who sister doesn't believe her inch loss & that DVDs are stupid... to be fair I wouldn't have believed it unless I was doing the DVD too & pre Shred I used to think that Dvd's were stupid & would just gather dust .. tell her to try it or shut up!

to the OP who said her bust had grown.. I belive that is due to the pressups etc & that you are building up muscle behind the bust - should make them look perkier too!

to the OP that was worried about buling up - mit's v.v.v unlikely to happen - most women do not have enough testosterone to do that so feel free to do the Shred to its fullest with the heaviest weights you can manage.

OP posts:
Sugarmuppet · 30/11/2010 14:25

Hello Joby Tis me with the perkier boobs! Grin

Been on a huge 2 hour treck in the snow with the dog and DD in a sling, would never have managed that pre-shredding, so overall fitness must be getting better! (also my welly's didn't feel so tight, should have measured my calves also!)

Not shredding till later (sore foot permitting) so will check in again then.

Oh and Dilys do hope the curry did the trick and you are back with us!

DilysPrice · 30/11/2010 14:44

I am back. About to do a sneaky pre school run shred- wish me luck.

Slobbadan · 30/11/2010 18:05

Dilysprice, did you manage to squeeze a shred in before school?

Im rather proud that i done it after work, as thats usually when i would plan to do it but then not bother as im a lazy mare. Anyhoo i done it before dinner and i feel the pain in my poor limbs!

So that is day 4 complete, must try and get some real weights though.

Hope your foot gets better soon Sugarmuppet.

DilysPrice · 30/11/2010 18:23

I did, and it went reasonably well, and I did not collapse with deadness on the way to school (which would have been inconvenient).
Unfortunately in an effort not to be too sweaty when I collected DCs I stripped down to my bra while doing the cool down, which was a bit of a shock, because I'm normally quite proud of my waist/abs (I'm pear shaped so my waist is pretty small). Anyway, that cooldown position is not a flattering one with a bare midriff unless you are actually Jillian or her minions - wobbly bits everywhere. It was unbelievably depressing highly motivating.

mummyshreddingnora · 30/11/2010 18:59

Well done everyone still. Going strong! Well have just put the dc to bed and am shattered and in cba mode today.... Someone please hurl abuse at me until I get off my arse!

NicknameInUse · 30/11/2010 19:07

No abuse needed surely nora? I mean, you're fully aware of the fact that it's over quickly and you'll feel fab and refreshed once you've had a shower/bath and can relax, guilt-free afterwards! Grin

Now get to it woman...or...or...you're banned! Yeah, banned from The Shredheads Club! Confused

mummyshreddingnora · 30/11/2010 19:13

Shock thats a bit extreme!

Sugarmuppet · 30/11/2010 19:17

Nora you are known by name in this household (as in shreddingnora is on the same day as mine...sheddingnora has lost lots of inches...if sheddingnora can do it so can I) so if you give up now it would give me an excuse you would regret it!

p.s day 8 done!

mummyshreddingnora · 30/11/2010 19:19

What level?
