Well done for starting again Panda. I read through about half of the book last night and have decided to start again. I am going to do 5 days of attack as advised in the book rather than the 2 days recommended by the website. Started with oat bran porridge which was rather nice. Just starting to feel hungry so might have a yogurt in a minute.

kkey21 · 11/10/2010 10:19

Day 1 here.....

Scrambled egg, black pepper and a coffee with skimmed milk

Fingers crossed i can stick with this.

Is cottage cheese allowed on attack? x

orienteerer · 11/10/2010 10:57

Day 1 here but I am waiting for plumber to finish a job so that I can escape to the shops and stock up properly (I need the oat bran)!

So far it's been boiled eggs, yog, chicken & diet coke!

insertexpletive · 11/10/2010 12:10

kkey21 yes, cottage cheese is allowed on Attack, as is fat free yoghurt, skimmed milk etc.

I have had a very naughty weekend - it was my birthday yesterday and had a celebration meal on Saturday and a celabration day on Sunday Blush

Really not good, and was too ashamed to step on the scales this morning. I need this consolidation phase to be successful as have thrown out all of my large clothes!

I think what I like about this diet is knowing that I can go back to a couple of Attack days to make sure that any damage done by my foodtastic weekend can be undone quite fast.

Dukan is very clear that you need to continue to be strict with yourself on stage three, so hope I've not mucked things up too much - will weigh myself tomorrow morning and take stock of the damage...

Galette advice required! I'm a pretty accomplished cook however my first attempt at a galette has resulted in me scraping it out of the pan in bits, where did I go wrong and what should it really look like?

kkey21 · 11/10/2010 13:52

Thank you-lunch was ham and hard boiled eggs now waiting to enjoy my ff yoghurt! So far so good-full and happy!

Galette advice will be interesting as reckon i'd like them!

Y-U-M-M-Y!

Thank you londonlottie for sharing that (damn forgot quark!)

Quite fancy that for dinner tonight with yoghurt on it?

orienteerer · 11/10/2010 14:59

Londonlottie - thanks, I think I probably had heat too high and tried to turn too early. Vanilla essence sounds like a good ideaGrin.

zaazaa · 11/10/2010 23:40

Hi everyone, well I have been stuck at 13st 6lbs for 4 days despite being good but I have lost an inch off my hips and off my waist so that is good. My waistbands don't cut into me so much thank goodness as I don't have money for more clothes.

Think I have overdone it on the f/f yoghurts this weekend Blush

orienteer i make mine with fromage frais but you can use quark or plain yoghurt or even cottage cheese. I put mine into a medium hot pan and then wait for bubbles then i gently push the edges, if they are soft i leave it a bit longer and then try again, I find when it is ready to turn, the whole thing slides around the pan and is easy to turn over but it took me a good few trys to get it right Grin I like to put cinnamon in with the vanilla essence too.

Tomight I had rump steak with spray oil and mushrooms with garlic...let's see what the scales do tomorrow Hmm

I thought I would lose much quicker on this diet but I am not losing hope as I find it very easy to stick to, love that the shopping is a no brainer and it is working although slowly. I bought some green tea capsules to see if that will help to speed things up a little..

zaazaa · 12/10/2010 07:02

OK, the scales registered 1.5lbs heavier this morning. Is this because of mushrooms or because I really pigged out yesterday (on all the allowed foods) because I am feeling stressed out Confused

Will be extra good today and t think I was ehinging about being stuck at 13st 6!

orienteerer · 12/10/2010 07:26

Ooooh, scales tell me I lost 2lb in first day...is this possible or was I just very bloated when I did my original weigh in....or are my scales dodgy? Should add I am only looking to loose one stone but 1.5 would be niceGrin.

orienteerer · 12/10/2010 07:28

Another poor effort at galette cooking this morning, must try harder. Also I think I need to try yoghurt rather than quark, found it very dry, probably a bit heavy handed on the bran.

zaazaa · 12/10/2010 07:47

orienteer well done! That is normal for the attack phase. If you find your galette mix a bit dry, just put a splash of f/f milk in there to make the mix a bit looser. I think it is important that you weigh yourself on the same set of scales as even if they are a pound or two 'out', you will still be able to accurately track your weight loss Grin

Yes clearly my 2lb was mostly water judging by the number of loo trips I made!

kkey21 · 12/10/2010 10:31

Day 1 down with success-didn't feel hard done by at all

Day 2-attempted Galette with Yoghurt-delicious even if it was a jumbled mess.

Quite liking the daytime but found dinner last night quite tough as my plate looked dull!

Well done orienteerer on your loss. I am weighing in Friday after 5 whole days on it (before i go out to pizza express with the girls Blush

insertexpletive · 12/10/2010 10:50

Thanks Lottie

I took the plunge and weighed myself this morning and am 2lb up Sad
I know I had a lot of food this weekend, but still surprised to see it in numbers.
The great thing is though, that I know I will get it off again by the end of the week - this diet is the only one that has ever worked for me and I know the rules well enough to get back down to my goal weight.

I was chatting to a friend last night about the long-term nature of this diet and have come to realise that this is something that I will be doing forever. I will now always be looking at the scales (perhaps not every day though Wink) and readjusting my diet to take into account any excessive food intake.
I really don't mind that - I am pretty determind to stay in my current clothes.

It's really good to still be able to post on here - I have enjoyed the support.

Another stuck here...have been for two weeks and only been doing this for 3 weeks. Have actually stuck as much as possible to protein only throughout the diet and today is the first salad i've had. Been drinking water, walking 30 mins a day (which I have to and always have to get to work). Previously 4 weeks to starting this I'd lost more weight so I wasn't expecting the sudden loss at the start but overall I am pretty hacked off now. Only got half a stone to loose to reach target and I have been this weight in the past three years so it is possible.
Also feel thinner but scales have not moved.
Now eating my old favourite pret tuna salad....120 calories with dressing and yet I'm not having the dressing because of this diet.
Starting to wonder why I'm depriving myself of so many things when it's not working any faster than any other diet? It's not TOTM. Having Oatbran.
Sorry to have a downer when youre all doing so well so don't want to put others off but looking for some thoughts on shall I stick to it or just eat low fat and low carb?

Coca · 12/10/2010 14:28

I'm going to cry, I just ate a doghnut...I don't like doghnuts! I'm peed off at DH for buying them, I'm peed off with me for comfort eating as soon as I'm upset. I'm just so frigging annoyed! Angry Sad Angry

Coca · 12/10/2010 14:29

or even doughnuts! Blush

PrudencePie · 12/10/2010 14:41

robin3 don't lose heart. I, got stuck in my second week and it lasted over 10 - 11 days Confusedand then i shifted a pound which gave me such a boost because I never cheated and stuck with it knowing it would drop eventually. I am now approaching my 4th week and am dropping a little at a time knowing it will be a lot slower than before.
Maybe try drinking alot more water upon waking? I find it gets me going as it were!
Onward Dukan soldiers... only another, erm, 52 pounds to go (have dropped 19 now)and even neighbour commented that i had dropped a load of weight - I can't really see it but others can. Come on girls we can do it for ourselves Grin.

CrapSuzette · 12/10/2010 14:47

Thanks for words of support at the weekend re my falling off the wagon. Am back on it again! Doing 2 days of attack. Weighed myself this morning, and am back to where I was 2 weeks ago before wild weekends away/ill children took over and I went carb-crazy.
So, 10st 8.8lbs today - down 8lbs from original weight. Target weight 9.4lbs (according to Dukan and his 'ideal weight.'
Today I have eaten:
2 boiled eggs
yogurt & oatbran
Several slices of bresaola (sp?)
A tin of crabmeat
Worried about encountering the plateau that so many of you have encountered. Well done for working through it!

Think I know why I have been a bit stuck. It is approaching TOTM and I usually get water retention. Tonight I had 4 rashers back bacon with fat cut off, 2 eggs and about 7 mushrooms in with a spray of the 1% spray oil stuff. I know it is salt but hey, I enjoyed it! Lunch was very bland chicken breast with 0% yoghurt and chilli flakes.

I also ate a promax high protein bar today so am prepared for a slight rise in weight tomorrow Blush I just felt really hungry today and am sure it's the hormones! Does anyone else eat more at TOTM?
