I too found that my initial steady weight loss has sort of stagnated so am rethinking my toilet habits too. Rabbit turds have nothing on these things!! Mondays are a good day for me so am going to take it easy and not stress over the weekend and then start with a vengeance again on Monday with a pp/pv alternating regime with NO CHEATS...at least for a week. I have been using the low carb/low fat options for treats, but they are still treats, so I need to be hard on myself again.

glastocat · 11/02/2011 13:32

Well I was very bad last night. I went out last night (Day 10 of Attack) and had FOUR glasses of Wine. I weighed in this morning expecting to be punished for my sins, and I was down by 4.4 lbs! Grin Now I know some of this is due to dehydration, but FUCKING HELL! Grin Anyway I am back on the straight and narrow today, starting the next stage, so I am going to the supermarket to buy some veg! Smile

Foreverondiet · 11/02/2011 16:56

glastocat how many since the start? amazing!

I am very boring when I cheat - have only done twice both times for an apple!

glastocat · 11/02/2011 23:05

I lost a total of 11.8 lbs on 10 days of induction! ALthough I bet I am a pound or two up tomorrow. Still, how amazing is that! Grin I had some veg today, and tomorrow I'm going to make some soup. I really think I can do this, its very exciting! Grin

blowmeaway · 13/02/2011 14:34

Hi all
Would love to join in, have a stone to lose in 2 months.
Am only on Day One and so far so good!

helsinkihelen · 13/02/2011 20:28

Hi, I'm a convert to Dukan too. Have been doing it now for nearly 2 weeks and have lost 6lbs. Am hoping to lose another stone and a half.

I have been an advocate of low-carbing (Atkins)for many years and used it to maintain my weight (between 8 and a half and 9 stone) for about the last 5 years. Then i got pregnant and couldn't stop eating prepacked sandwiches and Greggs Beligian buns! When my son was 9 months i fell pregnant again, but sadly that didn't work out too well, so here i am, all dusted off ready to get back down to a weight that i'm happy with, and reaquaint myself with the majority of clothes in my wardrobe

I've started to read through this mammoth thread to pick up some tips, but just wanted to say hello :0)

MrsPennySworth · 13/02/2011 20:41

Hi blowmeaway and helsinkihelen Smile

I did my first 5 days of dukan this week really strictly and lost about 5 lbs and then this weekend has been a nightmare ! Went out for a meal on Saturday night to one of jamie olivers restaurants and couldnt resist the desserts.... oops Blush Then today we were meeting friends for lunch with our children at frankie and bennies and I just had a chicken salad (I just couldnt think what to order that didnt look too bad!) but then I had a sandwich tonight for 'dinner' whoopsie again!

I had put a pound back on after last night and hoping it wont be too much worse tomorrow but Im going to do another 5 days stretch of the attack phase I think.

Find it so much easier in the week to follow strictly but every weekend seems like we are eating out somewhere or getting a takeaway with someone. Bit of a nightmare to stick to at the weekends (think I need to be really antisocial for a few months!).

Anyway, ploughing on tomorrow. Hope you all had good weekends Smile

BecauseImWorthIt · 13/02/2011 21:43

Welcome to Mumsnet, HelsinkiHelen!

helsinkihelen · 13/02/2011 22:09

lol, howdie BIWI!!! Thanks for the email ;0) there's a bit more life around here huh!

Thanks for the welcome MrsPennySworth. Sorry to hear you had a stumble, but i am sure any weight you have put on from your scrumptious sounding weekend will come off as quickly as it went on. I'm afraid i don't know the inns and outs of Dukan so i can't offer any advice. However, if the weekends are going to be a problem, you could spend all week doing attack and the weekends eating with gay abandon, and if it works weightloss wise, let me know because that sounds like a diet i'd like to follow!!!!!!

BecauseImWorthIt · 13/02/2011 22:11

Just a bit! You need to head over to the other thread, because Fellatio has baked you a (low carb) cake!

BecauseImWorthIt · 13/02/2011 22:12

Here - look, it's got your name on it and everything!

divadoll · 14/02/2011 08:34

Well I too blew it all on Friday and had some home made pizzas using pastry instead of pizza dough because I knew one taste of bread and I would blow it big time! I have had a busy weekend at home with decorating and one thing or another and didnt actually eat much saturday and sunday...except what I was allowed but not enough of it and I actually dropped below the 70kg barrier for the first time in years!!! FANTASTIC...only 5kg to go Smile

Foreverondiet · 14/02/2011 09:40

well I decided that it was more important to improve BMs than to stay on low carb, and sure enough, had some fibre yesterday (some prunes and some high fibre muesli mixed with yoghurt) and sure enough it worked and now 2lbs lighter this morning Smile

I will eat some high fibre carbs each day now... so I guess not doing dukan any more, although will try to prinicipals as far as possible - I'm only 5lbs from target so I guess doesn't really matter if weight loss is slow...

divadoll · 14/02/2011 09:59

I find that the oatbran keeps me sort of regular anyhow...although I do need to up the quantity some days

blowmeaway · 14/02/2011 11:14

well I survived the first 24 hours and have lost just over 2 lb. Am struggling with drinking the water, managed about 3 glasses yesterday, need to work on that!

surprisingly didn't feel hungry at all yesterday, maybe because the meat takes longer to digest?

Starting weight - 10 st 11.9 lb
Day Two - 10 st 9.3 lb
Target - 9 st 11 lb
True Weight - 9 st 7 lb

I can do this, I can do this! have to tell myself that as I am have the lowest willpower when it comes to food in the world!

blowmeaway · 14/02/2011 14:29

Was just lying on my bed and noticed my pregnant looking belly has totally disappeared! Guess I must have been so bloated before. But now I'm left with what resembles a shrivelled up balloon - not sure which I prefer!

glastocat · 14/02/2011 14:41

Oh bugger, just found out I bought the wrong fecking yoghurt AGAIN. Apparantly the fat free Yeo Valley Vanilla has too much sugar in it. Angry Can anyone tell me if there is anything else apart from Activia and some Muller Lights that are ok to eat!

On a more positive note, I got the recipe book this morning and there are a lot of new things to try! Smile. I made a massive pot of miracle soup yesterday with loads of veg in it for PV days, it was delicious! My husband even took some in a flask for lunch and he is not a big veg fan (but he eats it happily in soup, the weirdo Hmm). I also spotted a recipe for Dukan Bread online, can'T wait to have a go at that! Grin

Foreverondiet · 14/02/2011 14:46

tesco fat free greek yoghurt
total 0% greek yoghurt

I thought the onken fat free vanilla didn't look too bad either.

MrsPennySworth · 14/02/2011 16:32

Well done blowmeaway - you will do it, keep telling yourself that. I'm the same - if I'm not dieting I'm kind of eating anything. I wish I was really fussy with food, I tend to like everything! Btw your belly sounds like mine - mine is still huge 5 months after birth of dc3 and since this diet its kind of shrivelled up and gone all saggy! Oh and btw I'm rubbish at drinking water, I try not to worry about it although I know it helps Blush

Thanks Helsinkihelen! I was thinking that too -wouldn't it be great to do this all week and eat whatever at the weekend and still lose weight! As much as possible I'm going to be strict but if we are seeing people etc I'm just going to be careful. Supposed to have friends over for a takeaway this Saturday (great!) Confused

I've done well today so far but I do feel hungry though at the moment (doh!). time to drink loads of tea and fizzy pop to feel a bit more full up!

Oh btw, after a weekend of eating out twice and the sandwich last night (oops) I still only put 1lb back on in total this morning so I'm happy with that really! Smile

greenfig · 14/02/2011 21:53

Sounds like you're all making really good progress. Don't want to be the voice of doom but I found that I could have occasional glass of wine & more veg at w/es but it did impact on progress. The more focused you can be the better your results & the faster you'll get to consolidation. I found that eating protein before 'entertaining/eating out' helped me to stick to main dukan rules for rest of evening & I didn't feel deprived. Once hunger is satiated cravings seem to be illiminated & believe me I love food & alcohol!
Top tips for reaching target:
Set lots of mini targets
Drink lots of ice cold water (keep in fridge)
Daily walking as much as poss (I found extra exercise made me more hungry-work on toning once down to target)
Eat before hungry ie stay well stocked so you don't get caught out.
Chart, chart & more chart!! Helps to monitor progress & keep motivated.
Get inventive with your cooking- your less likely to slip up if food is interesting & satisfying.
If I can do it seriously anyone can - I am a caterer & the biggest foodie with the weakest will power Good luck! (several weeks on consolidation & weight staying off yee ha!)Grin

cairns · 15/02/2011 09:05

Well done greenfig weight still off here too.

I too found wine impacted my progress if you must have a drink then gin/vodka with slimline mixer is the best. But anything I drank did slow me down.

If you are hungry then eat, you aren't calorie counting, bizarrely i lost more the more I ate. Just have a fridge full of snacks. I can highly recommend the muffins on the recipe thread they are great with a coffee late afternoon ( I use all oatbran though not wheatbran in the recipe)

I have been making soup recently too, on your pv days celery and leek, spicey butternut squash ( with a big blob of ff creme fraiche) are both yummy.

Keep focused ladies you will hit those targets.

greenfig · 15/02/2011 13:36

Hi cairns good to hear it's working for you tooSmile
I am finding it quite hard to follow consolidation to the letter now I'm not 'in the zone'. I'm mainly following basic dukan principles in that oatbran for b'fast, lo carb/lo fat lunch but more relaxed about evening meal & wine (although not 1/2 bottle + a night any longerBlush) I am much more aware & still daily weghing to keep a check & have upped the exercise to strengthen & tone. I hope I'm not messing up all the hard work, I just struggle to stick to guidelines now I don't have the challenge of a target. What do you think?

divadoll · 15/02/2011 14:50

Well I have upped my exercise by starting spinning now but due to spinal problems it will be a slow start. I already do 5 times a week with core and total conditioning but this will hopefully up my metabolism which seems to still be snail like!
My loss is getting to be only a pound or two a week and it is a bit soul destroying so hoping this will kick start it again

divadoll · 16/02/2011 08:57

Wooohooo...broke 11st this morning! 69.3kg. Maybe upping the excercise is the way to go, although spinning is putting a strain on the only non-padded area of my body Shock

blowmeaway · 16/02/2011 09:45

well done Diva. I have just finished my 3 day attack and lost 6 lb! But yesterday I accidently shoved a fig roll into my mouth (and a handful of jelly bears). Honestly didn't mean to, was on phone and my toddler put them in my hand!

Should I do an extra day?? hmmmm....
