Mmm rhubarb and custard for lunch, probably not ideal but it is all I fancy Blush and it is so filling

Gogopops · 05/02/2011 17:38

Can I join you? Just started attack today and feeling ok at the moment. Hoping to lose about 1.5 stone over the next few weeks. Fingers crossed.

Great to have such a motivating thread.

greenfig · 07/02/2011 10:21

Hi gogopops I've just started shred & see you are doing that too, good effort! Are you seeing any difference yet? Is 1.5st down to your target weight, it seems a lot to lose in a few weeks. After initial attack loss I lost approx 2lbs p/wk.
cairns am dying to hear your weigh in ...
I am 9.9 after w/e of eating & drinking as friends staying. Am pleased it's all still stable.

cairns · 07/02/2011 11:41

divadoll · 07/02/2011 12:05

AND SHE'S BACK!! After a terrible Xmas with lots happening and a lot of binge eating I am now back to where I left off. Back weighing in at 70.6 and stagnant for a week now :( I have been sort of following it but need to get back into the book to see where I am cheating because I KNOW I am. Money is a bit on the tight side too at the moment and so the bulk buying of chicken breasts and the like is not helping matters...but we shall see

glastocat · 07/02/2011 18:32

Well after 6 days on Attack, I've lost five pounds. SmileI'm going to try to do 10 days of Attack as I have a lot to lose. I'm still baffled by youhurt though, any zero fat ones seem to be quite high in carbs. Can anyone recommend brands please?

studylove · 07/02/2011 19:12

24 days gone and I'm not loosing anything feel a bit cheated but reading the thread I've realised that I'm not alone Grin I'm doing 7pp/7pv days not really struggling much but without thread would probably given up- thank u girls Smile

eagerbeagle · 08/02/2011 08:33

Can I join you ladies? I started Dukaning on 4 Jan.

I did a 7 day attack and on cruise since then. Am 8.9kg (19.5lbs) down so far. 5.8kg to go to my next mini target which is the weight I was when I fell pg with DS. I would like to lose another 7kg after that to get to my wedding weight but am focusing on mini-targets or it seems overwhelming.

I haven't been too hungry and have negotiated most social events (although I took one pre-booked night "off") but I do find it quite boring.

I avoided alcohol completely in Jan but am allowing myself alcohol once a week which seems fine and hasn't noticeably impacted my weight loss.

Foreverondiet · 08/02/2011 11:50

glastocat well done, great start to diet.

Totals 0% greek is low in carbs.

divadoll · 08/02/2011 15:42

Well I have lost 5kg over 5 weeks but it was mainly in the first 3 weeks. I have stalled a bit at the moment but need to start up with a vengeance next week when I can ensure I order the correct food

glastocat · 08/02/2011 16:05

Wow eagerbeagle that's great!

I'm on day eight of Attack, finding it a breeze. I really thought I'd miss my wine, which shamefully I usually have every night, but I haven't really, which is amazing.

I got new scales from Amazon which are amazing, they not only weigh you but also give BMI, body fat percentage. Unfortunately they weighed me two pounds heavier than my old scales. Angry. Oh well, I've still lost six pounds in seven days! Grin My BMI and body fat measuremants are horrendous, but weirdly, my visceral fat is almost fine! I have no idea how on earth it can tell as I am very overweight. Oh well, I will take good news where I find it!

I hope I can replicate eagerbeaver's stats, 20lb off in a month would be a dream!

glastocat · 08/02/2011 16:09

Foreveronadiet, thanks, I will get some of that yog, I love Greek yoghurt.

Foreverondiet · 08/02/2011 17:08

glastocat - very Envy of those new scales. I have tanita ones but a few years old so they do body fat but not visceral etc.

And you have lost the extra 2lbs as you were obviously 2 lbs heavier at the start than you thought.

studylove · 08/02/2011 21:23

Hi everyone, hope u all fine. Well done eagerbeagle I'm on Dukans since middle of january and it's been 6kg so far another 14kg to goSmileyeah, I'm very fond of this new scales wish could get 'em as mine r ancient can't really afford 'em yet Sad Had a stomach bag yesterday night it was horrible made myself oatbran, wheatbran, egg, greek yoghurt and baking powder pancakes feel much better now Smile

MrsPennySworth · 08/02/2011 21:38

Hi, can I join too? Have just finished day 2 of the attack phase... I'm hoping im doing it right - are the activia vanilla fat free yogurts okay?

I have about 2 stone to lose (post pregnancy weight!) and I'm getting a tummy tuck done in April so I really really need to lose as much as possible before then.

I'm actually really surprised I don't feel that hungry on this diet and seem to be getting full quite quickly? I am however feeling quite weak with no energy at all!

I just hope I'm following it correctly!

eagerbeagle · 08/02/2011 22:33

Thanks glastocat I do have a lot to lose though. I expect it will all slow down now.

But boy am I glad to see the back of that weight. I do not ever want to see it again.

divadoll · 09/02/2011 10:04

Now figure this...two days off of the gym and eating chocolate and then I lose??? Have stagnated at 70.6 for nearly a week now and yet this morning it says 70.2! O well, it gives me the impetus to keep going. I want to get down to 65 if possible and had a tummy tuck saved for, so will see how things progress.

glastocat · 09/02/2011 15:22

Well I've lost eight pounds after eight days on Attack! I'm very pleased! I never thought I'd be able to stay away from the wine, but it has been easy! I must find my Dukan book to see what I'm allowed to eat after Attack. I just hope eating veg doesn't bring my appetite back, because I don't miss it! I'm one of those people who is always thinking about my next meal, yet when I', in ketosis I actually have to remember to eat. I wonder if this is what it is like to think like a skinny person?

I've also realised that I am much better at a strict diet like this, than one where you can eat anything like Slimming World. One glass of one, or one slice of cheese is never enough, and just sets off cravings for me. I just hope stage 3 of this plan will help me to stay on an even keel!

MrsPennySworth · 10/02/2011 11:48

Well done glastocat - I'm hoping to lose the same as you on attack (pound a day). I'm on day 4 now and think i have lost 4lbs although I'm seriously fed up with my scales as they can be so temperamental! They seem to change if they are moved on the floor! I can tell I'm losing but hard to know exactly. Anyone have any food scale recommendations? I don't care about price just want the best ones as I use them so much!

Typical day I'm eating eggs, a galette, sliced ham/chicken, quark, activia ff vanilla yogurts (2 or 3) and tea/coffee with skimmed milk and diet coke etc and then either sirloin steak, salmon, chicken etc

Does that sound ok? Also last night I had cod from the fish and chip and shop but took off all the batter - do you think that's ok? Or would all the fat have got in there? (am I overthinking this a bit!?)

Hope you're all having good dukan weeks!

Foreverondiet · 10/02/2011 15:51

My update - I decided I couldn't deal with PP days, so am having veggies every day (always with protein though) but avoiding root veggies altogether and limiting yoghurts/dairy to 3 x 0% total ones a week (they are the lowest carb ones I have found). I guess I am doing a cross between Dukan & and Neris and India. Anyway now down to 9 9 this morning.

Its day 19, and I was 10 4 at the start (after a low calorie diet since October when I was 12 5) so thats 9 lbs in 19 days, which I am v happy with - also happy to stick to this for a while yet but might increase the yoghurts/dairy to one per day or some lactofree milk from next week.

Now only 4lbs until target (9 5) - and all my pre pregnancy clothes now fit. Will be very happy if I loose this by mid March.

Will be doing consolidation for a while as total weight loss would be 42lbs.

marmalade32 · 10/02/2011 20:41

Hi all - well for a week now I haven't lost any weight- well 3 ounces !!! Am very confused as am doing nothing different, and have lost stone and a half in about 3 or 4 weeks prior to that. Have a lot to lose so it's not slowing down as I'm near my target. My - ahem - toilet habits are different though - couple of very tiny number 2s in last week but that is all. Could it be that ? I don;t like the idea of all the meat just sitting inside me. Friend recommended trying a colonic but might try laxatives first instead ? Any ideas, anyone ?

Foreverondiet · 10/02/2011 20:52

marmalade I find low carb diets constipate me.

Firstly try psyllium husk (from health food shop) - I am drinking twice a day - its pretty yuck so when it runs out will buy capsules instead. If that doesn't regulate things then buy some movicol from the pharmacy. I have a sachet of movicol if I have a poo free day - eg no poo today so will take one tonight and if no poo tomorrow will take 2 sachets. So far problem has been sorted within 3 sachets but more often within 1 or 2.

In terms of the weight loss could it be hormonal - I lost nothing in the week before my period? Also probably TMI being constipated does make a difference to weight loss. So don't despair about weight loss slowing down just yet however frustrating it is.

marmalade32 · 11/02/2011 05:53

Thank you forever, I do take a version of psyllium husk but maybe should just increase it. I'll try the movicol too. I'm very frustrated at the weight stagnation-I'm on the depo so not down to TOTM. Am hoping is down to the constipation. Will also start to bring more veg in, I think. I was getting carried away with the great weight loss on pp days so tend to only have a couple of PV days. Lots of leafy green veg coming up !!

cairns · 11/02/2011 09:21

Well done all great losses. Coming to the end of the first week of consol and still maintaining and it is really easy as pv every day but I am really struggling to eat any carbs (mindset change!)

Just wanted to post re plateaus I used to suffer from them quite a bit especially after such a big loss you do need to keep the motivation up and it is hard when you are not seeing the scales move. I think my body loses weight/fat in packets ( and I read a thread somewhere on this) so I would stagnate and then whoosh a 3 or 4 lb drop. Also the plateau is not that bad as imo it is great your body has accepted the new low (so it is not water loss). Imo pv days are very much needed to keep on sustainably losing so don't skip them. I found drinking lots of water, upping the walking/activity and bizarrely ensuring I was eating enough really helped. I also 'dropped' after a pv day, odd.

Keep going ladies it really works if you give it some focus for a bit and you will feel fab when you start hitting your mini- targets on the way . Have a fab weekend.
