44lb pinch me I must be dreaming wow lottie most people can only dream of losing that much

glastocat · 01/02/2011 17:51

I am confused about yoghurt! Anyone know if I can have fat free activia? The only other fat free yog my Tesco has is plain. ( I bought both)

laura3ap · 02/02/2011 09:33

Hi Glastocat - I spent what seemed like hours in the yoghurt aisle too! I ended up thinking activia fat free and muller were ok but I am just starting attack this morning - so no expert! Had a black coffee, a vanilla ff yoghurt with oatbran in. When are you starting?

glastocat · 02/02/2011 10:09

laura3ap, I started yesterday.

And this morning I am in shock! I couldn't resist weighing myself. I am FOUR pounds down!!! In one day! I know this is water weight, but wow, what a start! Grin

oncemorewithfeeling · 02/02/2011 10:22

Hi all, well done forever glastocat and huge welldone to those consolidating. I have been having an attack of the cookie monster. Its that late night slot thats been getting me each night. Grrr.

laura3ap · 02/02/2011 11:01

WOW GC! How many days of attack are you doing?

glastocat · 02/02/2011 11:05

I'm meant to be doing five days according to the website, but if weight is dropping off me I might do a few more! I expect I'll be craving some veg by then though.

I feel a wee bit light headed today, I suppose that's to be expected? I remember feeling like this on day two of Atkins, so should be ok tomorrow I hope. I'm not in the least bit hungry today, just had to force down my breakfast! Grin

Foreverondiet · 02/02/2011 11:22

well done glastocat I did 4 days rather than 3 because of the good weight loss, but didn't loose on the 4th day.

I have given up on doing dukan properly and am eating veggies everyday as I know that if I don't eat veggies i'll crack and eat worse... so far haven't cheated at all (day 11) and am now lost 7.5lbs in 11 days.

cairns · 02/02/2011 12:40

Well done glastocat I think I did 5 days of attack and although it was tempting to continue it does make sense to then alternate pv/pp especially if you want to keep with this for the long term. sometimes I find I need those pv days to actually lose, it is bizarre. In attack make sure you drink your water and eat as you don't want to go into starvation mode. I ate loads on attack as I had to.

oncemore is there anything that might tempt you to drop the cookie craving. I use yoghurts as my late night treat, or the occasional hot choc (skim milk, g&b cocoa and sweeten) , it seems to work.

Another 1/2 lb down today yippee got some momentum going now.

greenfig · 02/02/2011 13:13

Well done attackers, worst is now over! Use that loss as motivation & try not to let any slip ups get you down.
Oncemore I find cocoa works too. The cravings are pretty rare now. Still struggling to add all bread & cheese into daily diet, really thought I'd struggle to limit myself!
Forever & Cairns you must be so close to target I bet if you can stick to it over the w/e (always hard for me) you'll consolidate next week Grin.
I have had another drop, despite large jacket potato for lunch yest. (apologies attackers!) looking at consolidaters posts I think this is pretty common. I have been quite up & down last 2 weeks but not gone over 9.10 for a while. Hopefully workingConfused
lottie you've done amazingly well! You've lost the weight of my daughter!! You must feel great, have you been shopping yet?

Foreverondiet · 02/02/2011 13:20

greenfig I have 5.5lbs left... (9 5 is target) should be another 2-3 weeks I hope.

However.... I am still not looking as thin as I though I'd be.... of course look much better than I did at 12 5 but still have horrid wobbly thighs that rub together when wearing skirts in summer. Probably need to work on reducing body fat a bit once I get to weight target.

greenfig · 02/02/2011 14:20

I found the last few lbs made quite a noticeable difference, prob as it's a bigger %age of body weight the closer you are to target. In fact I consolidated just above target as I didn't want to lose too much off my face (40 this year!!) Am now toning up with pilates, walking, zumba & shred. Is more noticeable now I don't have my heating layer on top!
lottie how did you get on with shred? Am just starting...

oncemorewithfeeling · 02/02/2011 14:21

Tonight I will go for the cocoa. So annoying to stick with it all day and then crumble just before bed. Annoying too because before I had the first one I didnt have any cravings. Doh!

Foreverondiet · 02/02/2011 19:52

I just discovered a yummy protein snack - cauldron marinated tofu. Got delivered by tesco as normal tofu not available.

oncemorewithfeeling · 03/02/2011 09:06

Oh this is not good! I am up again .4kgs. Had a pv day yesterday. Did not cheat...I feel pretty rubbish. I find it very hard to do any physical exersion without carbs. My body feels empty, muscles hurt.

I missed dinner yesterday as I was so tired I fell asleep after a snack of hard boiled eggs.

laura3ap · 03/02/2011 16:15

Day 2 of attack - stinking headache all day - normal?

Foreverondiet · 03/02/2011 16:32

oncemorewithfeeling if you struggle to do any physical activity without carbs then I wonder if this diet is for you.

I am not doing any pure protein days (as I'd rather eat vegetables than cave in and eat biscuits etc) and I am managing my gym trips, doesn't seem to make any difference, but I am the sort of person who could do a gym trip first thing in morning on empty stomach.

In terms of bedtime munchies - he allows 2 fruit yoghurts a day (provided sweetended with sweetner not sugar) - why not save them as your bedtime treat?

studylove · 03/02/2011 18:54

I didn't have any headache at all (touch wood) and I'm on day 20 today do have some cravings though as I'm a chocoholic but on a dukan's website they say u allowed 4 sugarfree sweets a day and sometimes I indulge in that kind of pleasure but it's not chocolate..oncemorewithfeeling some days I do get muscle ache and some days not I do listen to my body and try to jog on a good days. Lost 10lb so far feel mostly tired but considering little one got a stomach bug and I've got stinking horrible cold it's not unusual.

cairns · 04/02/2011 07:51

Great results studylove . For those feeling rough on attack, I felt awful too I think it was my body adjusting to the carbs (as I used to survive on them before)

Another 1 lb down today so looks like I might hit that target soon, next week maybe if I push it. Woohoo

Great losses all, sorry to hear some of you not feeling so goodSadlaura I've had occasional headaches but put it down to dehydration. Upping the cold water helps me.
lottie you're really on a roll now, are you 'in the zone'?Grin
cairns hope you have a quiet w/e then you'll be target next weekWinkHurrahh!!!

laura3ap · 04/02/2011 13:11

Thanks for reassurance - no headache today but do feel quite racey -in the jittery sense rather than anything else!! Day 3 and no loss yet - hoping it will suddenly happen! Website said 2 days attack, I thought I'd do 3 but maybe if I haven't dropped at all yet I should do more? And advice? Been having 1 muller vanilla yog each day with my oatbran in - should I cut that?!

Foreverondiet · 04/02/2011 13:26

laura3ap check what the yoghurt is sweetened with, if its with sugar then cut it out, if its sweetner then its ok.

cairns · 04/02/2011 14:19

Well done lottie you are in the home straight now Grin

Thanks for the encouragement greenfig dh is working most of this weekend so quiet one planned.

Laura 3 days of attack should be ok. I think I did 5 but only so it could help me focus more. Don't worry about not showing a loss yet, it is early days maybe your body is just a little diet resistant , especially if you have dieted before. If it is any help I go ages without dropping and then whoosh it comes off in chunks. I have heard that is what happens, but it can be demoralising when you don't see those scales move.
