Hi all I've been reading ur talk for nearly a month now and it helped me to decide to start my Dukans.. Today is day 16 and I lost 3kg or about 7lb so for me it's no miracle but the diet itself quiet comfortable and I don't need to cook separately for myself and the Boys(one 2.5,18 years old and Big Daddy). I used to be on Jason Vale's Juice Diet once in 3 months but the weight crept on eventually so I didn't really put some extra on but never managed to go down so fingers crossed this time. Wink

Morning all, hope you are having nice weekends. Predictably up slightly, never mind, pp day today.

Welcome weebit and studylove. I find ff yogs hard to get hold of. There is the total 0% yoghurt. Its a strained greek yog. Its a bit firm for my taste. So far my fave is yeo valley fat free natural yoghurt. Nice smooth and creamy texture. But I am also a newbie, perhaps others know more brands. Fat fre yoghurt is surprisingly hard ot get hold of where I live. Perhaps explains weight gain since moving here. Many of the healthier alternatives I might have bought without really thinking about it aren't available in the shops here
Shuffles off to make chicken and miso soup lunch

Foreverondiet · 30/01/2011 13:42

Down to 9 12.5 this morning which I was happy with but have decided that the PP days on dukan are just not for me, I can't sustain it.

Friday was supposed to be PP but had some veggies with dinner - esp as was eating with the kids.

Have decided to continue with diet in amended form (so not really dukan) - basically have some low carb veggies every day (but make sure I have protein at every meal) and in exchange, cut out high carb veggies altogether for now (eg carrots and parsnips) and cut back on the yoghurts a bit (was eating several a day) and they have more carbs in them that the veggies - will limit myself to one per day.

studylove · 30/01/2011 21:21

I've discovered that sometimes muller toffee or vanilla really do work as a treat and some mornings I have one with my oat bran (I usually live it for a good few minutes to soak the yoghurt in) and this week in morrisons was really good deal 12 just for £3.In a book it says that u allowed around 800gr of ff dairy and one of this pots is 190gr Grinso I let myself a couple as I can't live without sweet things..

cairns · 31/01/2011 07:58

Morning all.

I too use muller vanilla yoghurts ( and as a special treat the ones with choc sprinkles). Dh loves them too and has replaced his late night choc. I try not to have too many a day though as they are higher in carbs than plain ones. I also use activia vanilla.

Still the same today but happy with that as we were out this weekend so lots of non dukan ( although I was restrained and no pud etc)

I can really really recommend celeriac chips, especially if like me you have been on dukan for quite a few weeks. Lovely I used half the celeriac to make mash and stored the other half in the fridge in some water with lemon added. Cut into chunky chips , parboiled. Sprayed bottom of non stick tray with a tiny bit of oil spray. Sprinkled paprika over half, curry powder over the other half. And baked alongside dhs oven chips. delicious with steak and salad, and a tom& red pepper salsa I made. Although would be lovely with dukan Mayo too.

greenfig · 31/01/2011 09:30

Morning all! Back down to 9.9 Grin
Great idea cairns I love celeriac but don't often buy it as rest of family don't like so had forgotten about it! Will be making chips v soon. Had wine, mussells & chips & small piece of choc brownie b'day cake out on fri, incl. bread & fruit allowances over w/e, had wine yest & roast pot with sunday lunch & am maintaing weight, albeit a couple of lbs above true weight. Although am happy at this weight ridiculously miss the mini thrill of a drop Hmm?! Wondering if I should drop to true weight then stabilise slightly above to banish the disatisfied feeling. forever if you are still losing why not? I had veg most eves too & pp during day. It has come off steadily & seems to be staying off as I reintroduce treats.
Re yogs, I am a bit lax. I like Rachels & Yeo valley. I stick to mainly Nat, vanilla & rhubarb but occasionally buy forbidden fruit ones for a change. They do have sugar in but I tried not to have too much sweetener. It worked for me but is not strictly Dukan.

oncemorewithfeeling · 31/01/2011 09:44

Morning all,
with a fair amount of cheating I have lost 1.8kgs in week 1. Not bad at all. The more important thing is I think I can stick to this regime!

I am going to try some of the muller lights this week. I caved into a cookie last night. A yogurt treat might save me next time.
Anyway today had oat bran porridge for breakfast. So, so nice not to have eggs again. On pp days I do need to save the oatbran for evening, but with lots of veggies I think I can manage today.

Feeling very optimistic Smile
Have a good start to the week everyone

Foreverondiet · 31/01/2011 10:09

greenfig - yes was 9 11.5 this morning (was surprised by this), so am still loosing. I actually only have around 6 lbs left to go (have lost 35lbs so far, but mostly on calorie counting type diet).

Remember last Sunday morning was 10 4.5, so thats half a stone in 8 days.

I have concluded that I like veggies too much to do PP days, and know that with veggies I will be much less likely to cave into biscuits etc - so as I said, will stick to the low carb veggies, and make sure that I have protein at each meal and will cut back on the yoghurts to one a day.

Will reassess if reach another plateau.

WeeBitWobbly · 31/01/2011 10:46

Thanks for the yogurt info, will look at the vanilla flavours :)
60.9 kg today- day one of cruise. (start weight was 61.7kg and target weight 56kg)

greenfig · 31/01/2011 10:52

forever just to clarify meant 'why not' as in 'why not alter to suit you if it is still working!' not 'why are you not still losing?'!! I have altered in same way too Grin

Foreverondiet · 31/01/2011 12:03

greenfig - ah, ok, so yes I have made some alternations. Will eat some low carb veggies each day but will reduce some of the carbs he allows to compensate. As you say if still loosing then why not?

BTW Celeriac mashed up with cauliflower makes great "pretend" mashed potato for the topping of a shepherds pie!

oncemorewithfeeling · 31/01/2011 12:24

So....I got the book today. Have a flick through and...has anyone done the exercises? I cannot figure out how to do the first one. Also I think my husband will be very amused as I bounce around on my butt for the second one. You know the one with the " 'trampoline' element' as the good doctor says. BlushGrin
A good laugh every morning wont hurt tho

studylove · 31/01/2011 20:22

Foreverondiet thank u for a celeriac and cauliflower topping- great idea as all my men do like cauliflower Smile and it's easier for me as Big Daddy in need of loosing some weight but will never go on a diet and boys r good they love their veg. I guess we'll have it on saturday night as I'm on my cruise stage and until saturday is PP days. Baked some lemon muffins today they looked so delicious in a oven but when I'd got them out went all floppySad oh well, a bit of disappointment never mind I'll get over it just another 25kg to go..

Foreverondiet · 01/02/2011 09:43

No have not done the exercises! But I go to the gym 3x a week.

Am still amazed by my weight loss - I was 2 stone down but on plateau, today was 9 11 so I have lost half a stone in 10 days. After my 4 day attack phase have had veggies every day and am another 2.5 lbs down.

So only 6lbs to go before I am my target weight!

greenfig · 01/02/2011 13:09

Smile at forever you must be pleased!
Bought my celeriac today cairns. Am waiting for you to reach target now then will stop posting as don't have much to add Smile Will hang in till you do as you've spurred me on through, no pressure!!
Went to Zumba again last night, a little stiff today!! Weight not changing but fat % dropping, must be due to increased exercise.

glastocat · 01/02/2011 13:23

Hello everyone. I got the book off Amazon this morning and have decided to start right away! I have a lot to lose, but I am very motivated as I have a holiday booked in June and our hotel is up a very big hill, and I would prefer not to die walking up it! I did Atkins about six years ago and lost four stone in four and a half months, unfortunately I put it all (and more) back on again over the years. I have suffered badly from depression and hope losing weight will give my self esteem a boost. Anyway, I'm going to read the thread now, and look forward to checking in with you lot as some of your stories are very inspirational! Smile

I forgot to say I'm going to Tesco tonight. My shopping list so far:

Eggs
Smoked salmon
fat free yogs
steak
chicken
fish (don't know which type)
oat bran
fresh herbs
packs of various sliced cold meats
diet coke

Is there anything else you recommend?

cairns · 01/02/2011 13:46

Ha greenfig no pressure! Glad all going well on consol. I am nearly there another lb down today yippee so 9st 9 today. Only a couple more to go and then I will start. I was reading the section in the book yesterday and it seems easy to follow. I don't know about you though but I am pretty reluctant to eat bread again. I used to bloat out horribly with it, but we will see. pp for me today and dh is working late so I find it easier not to think what to cook for him so a simple omelette for dinner tonight. I sorted my wardrobe out this weekend too and bagged up my 'fat' clothes, it was a fab feeling so it has spurred me on to shift those last few lbs.

Well done forever that is amazing progress. I must admit I have found it harder to shift that last bit too, but I think it is because I lost my focus a bit but also slackened (ie the odd treat: glass of wine) so it has slowed me down, plus Xmas didn't help. Fab you are so focused though.

Welcome glastocat good luck on attack.

cairns · 01/02/2011 13:51
