Welcome td I am sure you can find lots of veggie protein things to do. Can you eat cottage cheese etc . I too love the porridge and it is a breakfast staple now which sets me up for the day and generally keeps me going until lunch. I get quite grumpy if I don't have time for it.
I need a new chart too greenfig anything to get me back to the motivation level I was at. I am quite annoyed at myself for indulging so much at Xmas especially so because I was away and had little control of what I could eat which made it worse. I feel quite lardy at the moment which is strange as I am only 2 lbs heavier but I am guessing it is because I have got used to the low weight yet have still some to go to target.

Morning all! Hope the weigh in went ok lottie Don't get down hearted you know it works & that you can do it. It IS hard when you're away but we're all home now. I feel pretty confident that it'll drop quite quickly as once I've dipped to a new number & put back on, my body seems to bounce back after a short time of being strong again.
We've enjoyed Christmas, we knew we'd eat & put on, New Year now Grin

insertexpletive · 04/01/2011 13:24

Happy New Year!

Just thought I would check in with you all - it's been ages, sorry Blush

I had a wonderful, but busy Christmas and New Year and have to be honest and say that I was not really following the Consolidation Diet at all. Decided to just have a good time, but did feel more than a little guilty with every mince pie and huge generous slice of cake.

Not surprised to see that I had put on 5lbs when I weighed myself on Saturday and headed straight back onto attack. Weighed myself again this morning and I am down by 3lbs - so only 2 more to go to be back down to pre-Christmas Grin

I love Dukan - I have four more months of Consolidation to go and then can feel more confident that the three and a half stone will stay off for good...

Keep going everyone.

hi poo poo

TeenageWildlife · 04/01/2011 14:00

Hi Al
Am starting my attack on Thursday - couldn't start on new year's day so thursday it is. About to go to the supermarket - can I get Oat Bran at Sainsbury's?

top tips? (I have the books). Also, do you have one meal for you and one for the family? Would welcome any advice.
Thanks

TeenageWildlife · 04/01/2011 14:06

Al? ALL

gymbunnynot · 04/01/2011 14:29

Can I join too. Started attack today, 11st 9 with 2 stone to lose. Have already lost a stone through a different diet but need to kick start (or kick arse!) Going to combine with the shred DVD and much spinning at the gym.

insertexpletive · 04/01/2011 14:56

Hi TeenageWildfire

Top tips, for what it's worth...
Drink loads
Eat really regularly, I am much more likely to cheat if I skip a meal and then realise that I am hungry
Get some sugar free gum and sugar free sweets
Sugar free ketchup has been a lifesaver
Make sure you only have veg on pv days with one meal, not every meal
M&S delli meats are great for lunchtime
If you really need a cheat, think Atkins - Cheese, a handful of nuts, Atkins crackers with butter (naughty, but sooooo nice)
Avoid alcohol if you possibly can - a glass of wine can so easily lead to a packet of crisps.
Always walk up stairs - if you are struggling to fit a walk in, do stairs at home for 10 mins
If you can afford it - buy a new pair of trousers at your current weight and smile when you have to give them to the charity shop when they are too big in a few weeks (this gave me a huge buzz)

I have oat and wheat bran in two Activia or Shape fat free yogurts every night for desert and this seems to get me through the evening.

For those of you who have stalled, Dukan says that it is more difficult in the Cruise phase if you have tried lots of diets in the past, but you will get there. It may just take a while for your body to realise that you mean business this time.

Wow insertexpletive great list. Thanks for the morale boost greenfig it has really helped. You can do it lottie you know it works if you focus.

Re meals I cook the same meal for the rest of the family too ( well dh at least) I just don't give myself a portion of carbs. I do lots of casseroles or currys on pv days ( just don't have rice or potatoes) . And on p days I will roast a chicken or have steamed salmon with capers or chicken tandoori dh eats the same but with salad and carbs. It is quite easy to work through and I like the fact I have to think about it. I love greenfigs moussaka but dh doesn't so I make a big batch of mince and split between the moussaka and spag Bol or lasagne for dh and the kids.

No change on the scales today but I am back on focus.

cairns · 04/01/2011 16:31

Ooh forgot to say welcome all.

Also new motivation = huge stock up today of goodies so no excuses. Yes you can get oatbran in sainsburies just come back with it! it is with the porridge section (mornflake)

TeenageWildlife · 04/01/2011 16:51

Thanks all for the information - just got back with no oatbran - it wasn't near the porridge or anywhere. Spent rather a lot in the shop - must be the two packs of smoked salmon - not to mention toothpaste at £3.59..
Is the moussaka recipe somewhere?
All the fat free yoghurt with any flavour had sugar in it, so I only bought natural - seems a bit dull.
does all the sweetner/aspartame make one a bit erm farty? Blush

greenfig · 04/01/2011 17:53

Hi all, just checking in & see my son has joined the chat earlier todayBlush Apologies!
Welcome all & stick with it, it really does work & you won't be hungry. I found I was a little slap dash to begin with but got soooo despondent when I stuck or went up that I got more keeny meany! Teenage I found my initial supplies expensive but lack of alcohol, butter & baked goods I guess seems to have evened things out. I have Rachels yeo valley or Onken lge pots. They do have a bit of sugar but I've eaten lots & lost over a stone. The vanilla & rhubarb are most dukan but I have occasional other fruit flavours for variety. I think variety has been key to my sticking at it so get cooking & creative so you don't feel bored with your food. I never would have thought it but I now think nothing of having say a lge portion of cabbage with bolognese as the family indulge in spaghetti & garlic bread. insert is right when she says not to get too hungry, I have been known to eat a tin of tuna before going to friends for dinner, it makes turning down nibbles & potatoes etc sooo much easier! Good luck & once again apologies!

Hi All...... decided to come back after a 4 week break for Christmas!! Feel bad about allowing myself to stray so badly, but I did enjoy it. Haven't got the nerve to weigh myself yet, but I've been back on the attack since yesterday. We'll see how long it takes before I stray again!

Hope the rest of you managed to avoid the crisps, choccies etc over the festive period - and Happy New Year to you all.

greenfig · 05/01/2011 13:22

No loss for me yet but also feeling better tummy wise lottie less bloated. Was quite surprised at no loss today as feel thinner Confused Could it be that although I wasn't following the plan, I've sort of consolidated at pre christmas weight (before the 9 1/2lb dip)? How have you done it insert?
lottie that's great, you'll soon be back to pre Christmas weght & it will be a good motivator too. It helps the brain slowly understand that the obvious delights of the carbs are not so appealing when you feel quite uncomfortable having had them I find, a little more each time! How are you newbies today & cairns?

cairns · 05/01/2011 14:26

Hi Less bloating here too it is amazing how much better I feel too. No loss though. I wonder why we have all bloated out so much. I am staying on attack until the weekend I think just to get things moving along, I also am feeling very virtous as I have been running for the last three nights Grin.

Had chicken tikka for dinner, porridge for Brekkie and ate out for lunch and was delighted they offered plain omlettes yippee.

I wondered who poo poo was too, ha.

Welcome back panda. It is fab having a crowd of us to keep us going. I find this thread so supportive it really does keep me going, so thanks all.

Yes I'll add some recipes to a new thread if people are keen. If someone sets it up (technophobe). Was rifling through some for inspiration last night.

TeenageWildlife · 05/01/2011 19:19

I am keen but also technocrap - maybe just start a new thread called dukan greenfig recipes?
I start tomorrow - feeling quite excited. Found mornflake oatbran in health food shop. Will do attack for at least 5 days maybe 7 - I would like to look in the mirror one day and see me rather than this fat faced person in a fat suit pretending to be me. Dreading weighing myself tomorrow.

Fab lottie, another technophobe here, I need to learn to link. I am salivating at the thought of mushroom soup, yum.

Happy to add my one pot wonders to the collection Grin
