Not surprised you had 3 glasses of prosecco after yesterday lottie. Btw I would pack the scales too. I am at mil's for 5 nights over Xmas and I'm contemplating taking mine, but I know I would get v odd looks from the il's

keep at it greenfig I think it is just your body adjusting to the new low weight.

mrspw I have been contemplating what is/ should be my final target weight too. I think for me it is psychological in that I really don't want to gain it back sooo my thinking at the moment is to set a target a couple of pounds under a key number (random I know) with the aim of never going above that as for me that would be a slippery slope. I tend to weigh in kgs so my final target is 60kgs which is slightly above the dukan one but for me is a simple number to stick at.

shiney hope all is ok with the wedding plans, i found it stressful leading up to our wedding (it wasn't me just other people stressing me out so much so I got sick) so please look after yourself.

greenfig · 17/12/2010 09:24

Well done cairnsGrin
My next mini target met too, 1 stone lost yippee!!

cairns · 17/12/2010 09:28

well done. It is a fab feeling when you finally hit a target.

MrsPW · 17/12/2010 10:18

Sounds great Lottie, yer on :o Well done for the 2lbs off, great stuff!!!!
I've joined gyms in the past and find it very difficult to go too, without kids. My 2 are nearly 10 and 7, so not small but dh works shifts(no childcare) and I'm a childminder, so evenings are spent doing housework mainly Biscuit
So, the dvd is a great idea in theory, if only I could shift my arse into gear!

Cairns, that's my thinking too, I've decided to carry on down to 10st, it's my body and I know it best. I think dh is worried about me having to buy more clothes if I lose anymore Wink
Well done on hitting 10stone! :o

Greenfig, wooohooo :o Well done!

Shiney, When is the wedding?

I'm down to 10.6 this morning Grin

greenfig · 17/12/2010 13:26

Finally some snow!! Shoot lunch cancelled, farmer coming to get me to this eves party!
No change here weight wise, but can feel the pull of the festive treats getting stronger...

cairns · 18/12/2010 21:00

Pull of festive treats here too greenfig although I have avoided the food related ones just consumed more of the naughty alcohol variety. Found a lovely prosecco yesterday that I just had to try and today had a lovely lazy boozey lunch with friends. I can feel the festive pull now so I think will prob focus on sticking as much as i can to dukan but maintaining and tackling the remaining target after Xmas. I am still cheery that I am still just under 10 stone. At my boozey lunch had lots of lovely lovely comments on my weightloss which was lovely ( although am now slightly alarmed how big I must have been before). Nice thing now is I really am starting to feel comfy in my own skin, fab!

greenfig · 19/12/2010 09:40

Good news cairns Xmas Grinam about to start the lazy, boozy stuff myself today.
As working last night & no time for supper tried lotties fizz diet (1 of waitresses brought a bottle for christmas cheer in the kitchen!) & have lost 1/2lb even though I consumed a small handful of canapes!
Have same mindset re diet as you for over Christmas, am confident we'll be able to repair any damage pretty quickly. Have a fab Christmas, hope we can make Yorks in all this snow!

cairns · 20/12/2010 11:43

Well done greenfig that is fab. You provide such great motivation for me, thank you!

Brrrr it is cold here which is probably helping keep the weight off. I am still the same which is great after this weekends exploits. Think I am going to give it one last push until having a few days off over Xmas, although I have such a mindset change I doubt I will go crazy anyway, as I really don't want to gain much.

lottie I guessing you are travelling now, hope you have a good journey. shiny hope the wedding went well.

I have a few thrilling days home now with virus full dc's until dh finishes on the 23rd, substantial lack of exercise here I really struggle to get motivated when I can't get out to walk anywhere.

shinybaubles · 21/12/2010 06:38

Hi everyone, no wedding yet it's tomorrow - yikes. Am about 1 kilo up despite best efforts it's the wine and baileys I think. Have so many things to do today.

cairns · 21/12/2010 07:40

Ooh shiny have a fabulous day I am sure you will look stunning and I bet get some stunning piccies in this winter wonderland. Enjoy every minute of yours and (dh to be's!) special day.

greenfig · 21/12/2010 09:24

Will be thinking of you shiny. The day races by so take time to remember it. Best wishes.Smile

cairns · 23/12/2010 09:37

Merry Xmas everyone, hope you all have a lovely time. We are off now to mil's for the period. I just also wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone on this thread it has really really helped me. I am still 10st which is the target I was aiming for Xmas when I started this and the lightest I have been at Xmas for years. . Enjoy Xmas and see you after.

NurseySA · 28/12/2010 08:36

Hello everyone, hope you all had a lovely Christmas Smile

Hope you don't mind me joining in this thread, it's very inspirational! Myself and DH both started the Dukan yesterday, and although it's very likely my naff scales, I've lost 2kgs overnight and DH 4kgs!! We are both complete carb addicts, and have awful eating habits normally.

I have a target weight of 58kgs, DH 95kgs, so may take a while! I've bought the book, and am feeling very motivated, hoping next week to also give up the ciggies so need to get into a strict routine this week Shock

My starting weight was 72kgs, DHs 118kgs, will update for any further losses.

cairns · 29/12/2010 22:48

Welcome nurseysa and dh. Good luck on attack. My starting weight was the same as yours plus similar target, I think you can lose a lot of water on attack that is the strategy I think to keep you motivated.

Well had quite a few days off for the Xmas break and have eaten and drunk whatever and have gained a couple of lbs, not disastrous by any stretch and it was great to not feel guilty indulging as I know it can be lost again. So pp today and tomorrow for me to try and limit the damage, a night off for NYE then firmly back on dukan. I received so many comments on my loss over Xmas it was lovely so I am even more determined now to hit that target.

NurseySA · 30/12/2010 13:13

Thanks cairns, all going well here. I'm down to 69.5 kgs this morning, and DH down to 111 kgs, so both of us feeling very motivated. I've decided to stay on PP for an extra couple of days, I'm working all over New Year so will be easy to stick to as wont be able to drink anyway!!

How long has it taken you to get under 10 stone? I really want to get to target before the summer, not sure if that's achievable!!

Hope you have a very happy NYE Smile

cairns · 30/12/2010 14:05

I think it took 2 months to get to get to 10st, but that was with times not being as strict as i should have been due to visitors/ special occasions etc. At first it came off easily and then more gradual. To get to your target by summer is easily doable as long as you persevere through the inevitable plateau. It is great that you and dh are doing it together that helps. Bizarrely I find the food easier during winter as I have been making so many casserole type dishes ( and I highly recommend greenfigs moussaka with the cinnamon and nutmeg) as I find I am still eating comforting/ hearty meals. Roasting a chicken for say Sunday dinner and then using the remains and carcass to make soup is also scrummy and cost effective.

Happy new year everyone!

greenfig · 01/01/2011 16:10

Welcome & well done nursey on your great start! Am back to it too cairns after a longer break than expected! I got down to 9.9 1/2 before christmas which amazed me! I have had a little of everything but not felt the desire to overeat at all. Weight quickly went up to 9.12ish but has stabilised around there which I've found reassuring re consolidation. Now plan to get down to 9.7 & consolidate, hopefully can then stabilise around 9.9, fingers crossedSmile

greenfig · 02/01/2011 10:06

Morning ladies! Had a reasonably good day yesterday, substituted lunch for a handful of snaffled canapes at work then boiled eggs, ham & porridge all I had in stock for supper! Off to get groceries before I reach for the toast! 9.11 3/4 today so back to around 2 weeks ago pre christmas weight, almost. Grin Blush

NurseySA · 02/01/2011 14:51

Hello all! Day 7 today, weight 68kgs!! Lost 4kgs this week, absolutely delighted! DH has been boozing the last 2 days, so he's back up to 115kgs, but is starting afresh today. I am going to start the veggies tonight, can't wait! Haven't been able to go for the walks, but have been running around at work all weekend, so hoping that compensates for the lack of exercise. Can't believe how quick this has all been, just hoping I can stay on the wagon, and I've decided to tackle the ciggies in a few weeks time when I'm more certain this weight loss is for sure! Smile

cairns · 02/01/2011 17:52

Happy New Year everyone. Well done Nursery and Greenfig good going.

Well I tentatively weighed in at 10st 2 this morning so not disastrous, but I do feel quite lardy compared to how I felt before Xmas. I felt ropey (well hungover) all day yesterday so have restarted Dukan today after having pretty much all of the festive period off. I have gained but it could have been far far worse due to no exercise, lots of booze, puds the full works. I am off for a run now to try and get the scales moving again. It is my birthday at the end of this month so I am giving myself a mini target to lose 7lbs by then , we will see.

Good luck TD. My favourite way to eat the bran is to make porridge with skimmed milk, sweetener & vanilla. How many days pp do you plan to do, sounds quite tough for a veggie? I think its good to weigh every morning as it has certainly kept me focused.
Am finding I'm a bit more hungry after 2 weeks of slacking. cairns I have made a NY chart to refocus efforts!! Blush Whatever works!! Am feeling so much better in my clothes & am 'healthy' weight so I need to be determined to get down to target. I can see I could easily let things slide as only put on a few lbs over christmas (hardly noticeable?) Must stay focused so that it doesn't all pile back on.
It's funny that the things I really enjoyed over the last 2 weeks are the simple things such as a bacon sandwich with ketchup & white bread & a prawn cocktail with avocado, a crumpet with marmite. I thought it would be other things, its the little things combined that make delicious treats!
