greenfig well done on keeping under the 10stone this weekend that, that looks like it has stuck for you which is fab! Hope all the catering went well.

lottie you make me chuckle when I read your posts. I don;t know how you can't gain more, it must be that you must subconciously make up for it by eating smaller/healthier portions of other stuff etc. I think the fact that you don;t gain much after carbs must mean that all your loss is not water which is great.

Well I am still the same after this weekend. I was mostly good with food although I had a few sneaky drinks Sat and Sun which will have set me back a bit. At least I haven;t gained. It is interesting with me I seem to stick all week and then on one day it goes. My body seems to need time to 'hold' the new low weight.

I have visitors this week so will probably only be able to do PV so doubt it will go down much. I am just aiming to stick I think.

pinkest I never had a reaction after P days. It might be that your gut is adjusting with less travelling through. Also it is very important not to go hungry on the attack phase/P days, as you need the protein to balance out the impact of the sugar drop from the loss of carbs.

shiney good luck this week, how exciting for you!

pinkestpink · 13/12/2010 16:14

You?re right about the hunger but i couldn?t face eating that much protein I felt that I couldn?t digest it and nauseous. i have a sensitive stomach (ibs and because of painkillers) but it seems that I obviously don?t get this reaction from carbs or sugar. It?s a shame i don?t seem to be able to do it without feeling very ill, I had an omelette for lunch today as I gave eggs a break from Thursday and i started to feel ill again. Anyway I?ll keep on with the PV as i can really each more and have soup for lunch and leave protein for dinner but very hard to snack and have lunch on PP not sure how to do it. It says in the book if you don?t have that much to lose then you can do two PV days a week although not sure of I can manage one. Don?t want to go back to normal either at this stage as I?ll most certainly put all the weight back on in a day! and it will all be for nothing. Again apologies for negative, just trying to muster up some motivation and do this in a healthy way without starving!! You are all doing great its very inspiring
yes greenfig drinking!

lailarose · 14/12/2010 10:55

GOD sorry for MIA!!!
I was getting concerned that I was not getting on with work...
Been having a bit of a plateau for some time. the weight is still shifting but at a slow pace! (I don't think it helped last week as I went out drinking twice for Xmas dos and had a sneaky mince pie...how bad is that?!) I desperately need to sort exercise out too.
One great thing about this diet is that if you do slip up or do something naughty, you do feel an immense amount of guilt..plus you remember the trauma of the first week!
I do have to say though that one good thing has come of this for sure - my now aversion to carbs. I cannot remember when I last had pasta/potatos etc. I just do not want them!
I am still having issues with sweet things... wanting wanting wanting but coffees and yogs do still work.
I have been cheating at work and having the soups rather than cold meat by itself! but generally i feel my outlook has changed.
Going to weigh in tomorrow and keep you all updated.

Good luck to all the newbies!!

:)
P.s have also had a rotten cold since friday... does not help situation so I feel for you all who previouslt had flu to deal with.makes it a lot harder!

Oh and good sub for rice when you are on PV day.. been making really good curries but rather than eating solo have been putting on a bed of raw spinach and roasted squash - soooooooooooo good! try!

greenfig · 14/12/2010 12:38

Good to hear from you LR I thought you'd gone! Sounds like all going well.
Am 9.121/4 this am, despite missing exercise yesterday & feeling strongSmile. Is soup bad? I have lots Blush Must get the book instead of reading guff on the internet!

pinkestpink · 14/12/2010 12:42

sorry meant to say two PP days a week above. how many PPs does everyone do on cruise? is soup bad i also have lots??

cairns · 14/12/2010 13:36

Lovely to hear you are hanging on in there doing well lailarose.

Well done greenfig steadily but surely going downwards. Yippee!

Re soups they are ok. Dukan recommends them on pv days and has a few recipes in the book. Especially pumpkin soup and another dukan broth which he suggests eating to keep hunger pangs at bay early evening before dinner is ready. I made a lovely chicken soup last week from the carcass and meat left on a roast chicken, it was yummy.

PP days versus PV I tend to do 3 or 4 or so P days a week, but I don't alternate. I save my PV for the weekend and then on mondays I have 2 or 3 PP days in a row and then alternate until it is the weekend again. It might explain why I always see sudden drops on thurs/Fridays.

cairns · 14/12/2010 13:40

I am hanging my head in shame today btw. Still the same weight despite having a bit of a disastrous last night as we were entertaining. Lots of wine consumed, couscous eaten with my chicken and veg dish and a White chocolate pot devoured as dessert. Back on the wagon today.

lailarose · 14/12/2010 14:49

thanks guys... have realised though how good it is to check in on here though!!Really gives a boost - need to make sure I do it daily again.
SO impressed greenfig :) I hope to be under 10 soon - I bet it's the best feeling and you must look great!

cairns - keep going, we all hve the odd day when one or two drinks are consumed (or treat ;))but it sounds like you;re still doing great. You're feeling the guilt which sucks but also means you will be uber good today :)

I have twisted rules somewhat - I don't do alternate PV PP days anymore.. but I don't feel too bad actually as it sounds like most of you guys have created something that works for you too. Likewise, when I know I have guests I do PV that evening.. so much easier... and then only have P for earlier in day. I try to counteract the following day (if possible) with loads of water and loads of protein.

I just think the main thing that's great that is my almost choc bar a day has gone and I am not eating bread pasta etc anymore.
I have noticed that my skin is a lot better too. anyone else found any other positives (apart from looser clothes!)

greenfig · 15/12/2010 09:08

9.11 3/4 this amGrin
Am not finding time to exercise as cooking flat out around school plays & carol conserts. Also can't remember last pp day as difficult to be organised enough at mo. Just got to make sure I don't sneak a bit of toast! Can barely remember what it tastes like...

greenfig · 15/12/2010 11:22

just scoffed down a broken mince pie, in the name of quality control of courseHmm
wish I'd sat down & enjoyed it with a coffee now instead of bolting it before I could change my mind!Angry

MrsPW · 15/12/2010 11:37

Thought I should say hello again :) I posted ages ago and then was a bit scared to join in again Blush
I have lurking and silently supporting you all!

I NEED to tell someone, I reached my "true weight" today of 10st 7lbs :o :o So that's 3 st 5lbs lost altogether, since July. It's not been as quick as I hoped but I only properly got my head down and into it in August. I feel FANTASTIC, lots more energy, my skin is clearer and I've gone from a size almost 18 to a 12(have no bloody boobs anymore though Hmm )

I was a bridesmaid a couple of weeks ago and felt a million dollars and didn't run away from cameras Blush like I normally do.

I'm aiming to lose another 7lbs though before I go onto consolidation, I think 10 stone will be a good weight for me :)

Best of luck to you all, keep at it, it's such an amazing feeling when you get down to target xxxx

MrsPW · 15/12/2010 11:40

Greenfig, well done, you must be tiny!
I have thus far managed to avoid mincepies, not entirely sure how that happened. I have cheated at other times though and always feel so guilty, it's never worth it anymore.

greenfig · 15/12/2010 12:57

Mrs PW well done YOUGrin!! So glad you came back & told us, but why so scared to join in? I've found it such a help & it's SO good to have positive posts like yours to keep us all motivated. No wonder you feel great & I think that you've done it really quickly, you've obviously got strong will power. It must be so fab to see the target number on the scales, I can't wait (fingers crossed I make it!)
I do feel much better, but certainly not tiny just sadly short! I am quite little & was a steady 8.4 before & until I got married & have not been under 9st since return from honeymoon!!
Husband jokes about how I'd already let myself go (I think its a joke?!)
Will be delighted to get back down to Dukan target as it's been a number of years & know I'll never get down to my old weight.
Keep in touch re consolidation & good luck x

Mrs PW wow wow wow well done. You must be feeling great that you have hit your target. I get so inspired by reading posts like yours do let us know how you find consolidation.

greenfig 9 lbs 11 blimey that is amazing. Well done again!

Well I am still being good on pv but no change today. But talking about dh's I thought I would share something personal today. I received an email from dh this morning, totally unexpected and he us of the type that keeps feelings inside, so this was very special. Nit surprisingly I have another motivation boost.

" just wanted to say how proud I am of you and that you are looking increasingly fantastic. You have done so well at regaining your figure and have done so without fuss or frustration. You are a great mum and brilliant role model for them and for me"

Ok I blubbed buckets Xmas Grin

cairns · 15/12/2010 13:51

Sorry pressed post not preview. Ignore the typos Xmas Blush

greenfig · 15/12/2010 14:27

cairns that's sooo sweet!
lottie you shouldn't make me laugh so much, my bladder can't take it!
Have just come home with son from school carol service, poor boy was sick in church.
After the initial pity for him subsided I began to panic about all my cooking jobs with sickness in the house Aaagghh! Then I thought that if I got a bout it'd speed off those last few lbs! I don't think this is healthy at all!!!

shinybaubles · 15/12/2010 16:19

hi everyone having a bad day - not diet wise - will come back and post properly when ds is in bed, but wanted to say lottie I am considering taking my scales too Blush

Hope you have a less stressful day today lottie Are you packing yet? I remember those fun days packing with 2 monsters unpacking as fast as thing 1 & thing 2!
Could honestly drink 3 glasses of prosecco quite happily now! Can't wait for 23rd & 3 whole days off diet!

shinybaubles · 16/12/2010 09:44

Not sure lottie I could use the bottle of Prosecco. I hope your twins had a great birthday. Well I have lost 10lbs in 15 days, although I am hugely worried about wedding food and Christmas food, I guess at least I know this diet works.
Well done to everyone there are some really good losses and it's so inspiring to hear everyone on here.
cairns my dp is emotionally retarded - such a nice guy you have.
greenfig I have also noticed that my weight fluctuates up and down - stay strong.
Well the crap day looks set to continue today - I was even driven to post in AIBU yesterday.

MrsPW · 16/12/2010 12:13

Thanks all :) Still 10.7 here today, YAY.

Still not on consolidation yet, I'm still trying to decide whether or not to lose the 7lbs, dh and lots of others think I don't need to. I really need to tone, I think that is the issue. I've had the 30 day shred dvd for a moth now and haven't even taken the wrapper off Blush

Cairns, that has almost made me blub, how sweet!

Lottie, I would take scales too :o I feel deprived if I can't weigh myself daily now!
I hope the wee ones are okay today after their jabs and today is better for you.

Greenfig, don't lose heart, I have had many times where my weight has yo-yoed, it all evens out in the end. Lotties advice is spot on :)

Shiny, I hope whatever is the matter is resolved soon :)
