Very nearly just wet myself out shopping! Jiggled my way round a shop with no loos then had a 15 min drive home! I don't pass a loo without going & I'm still always caught short...

greenfig · 08/12/2010 14:17

Just like to add that it's all the water drinking!

cairns · 09/12/2010 08:18

Whoop whoop 1lb down this am, just 3 more to go to 10st.

Grin at your water intake yesterday greenfig how are you doing today.

Hope you had another good day yesterday lottie.

Well I made some custard last night and it was delicious a fab replacement for a yoghurt as pudding and very warming.

Hi Everyone - you all seem to be doing so well.

Lottie- what great results!

As for me, well, I clearly should have thought twice about starting all over again in December ! I had a great attack phase last week losing nearly 10 pounds - I have gained 3 of those in the past few days.

Then we had dinner with family- I was ill this week with a nasty cold and next weekend is work do and then well, is Christmas and New Years !

I guess I will try and limit the damages and be as Dukan as possible and start 'for real' after the festive season.

Hi everyone well done lottie and cairns I have lost 7 lbs so far but I think the weight loss is starting to slow now, which is also making me a bit nervous, and I am supposed to end the attack phase on Friday and I don't want too.
We're doing the drive too lottie but it's not too bad from Antwerp it's 5 hours door to door, I don't envy you doing a longer one.

greenfig · 09/12/2010 12:10

Spent another morning jigging! May have to invest in some Tenaladies!!!
Well done to all, I can really tell cairns & lottie are feeling so pumped Grin
Can't imagine a drive that long, I found going to Cornwall bad enough! Long journeys are about the only time I eat sweeties (& cinema)& I felt like I'd stopped smoking or something having nothing to graze on!
We are off to Yorks on 27th, 4hrs (fingers crossed) have passed the sleeping in car stage & moved on to DS's & arguing! Perhaps it's worth looking for some sugar free sweeties?
Am down yet another measly 1/4 lb so STILL a lb up on last week. Am feeling inspired by cairns' positivity, sending you back some 10st vibes Xmas Grin

cairns · 09/12/2010 14:49

Well done lottie worth getting back in the zone. shiney don't worry about starting cruise it will be ok, I think the body needs those pv days to stabilise at the new weight.

Sending you under 10st vibes back greenfig I'll wave on the back down the m1 as we are spending Xmas in Yorkshire. Car journeys I seem to have replaced sweets with drinks, like diet coke or chewing gum I find helps. Although I too am going to try and limit Xmas damage rather than stick to dukan as we are away for 4 nights at mil's so less control.

Well I have definately done the walking quota today, dh has the car I don't want to count how many miles I have done with the double buggy up hills on the school run and to the shops.

lottie the custard is really easy just skim milk and add enough egg yolk to thicken, vanilla and splenda to taste. I bet it is yummy with one of those muffins too.

N yorks cairns? Yippeee! 9.13 1/2 again. Are at friends for dinner tomorrow night, really hope I can keep under 10 now. It always goes up again after a new number but usually stays down after second dip. Was due to hit Dukan target today but think this last bit will be quite slow now, especially with Christmas. Plan to be REASONABLY good but as I seem to put back on every w/e with even minor indescretions I'm expecting to put quite a bit back on.
Shiny also the pv days will help you to stick at it as it will be easier & more interesting food. As you love cooking you'll have lots of fab ideas. Don't forget you need the vits & mins for hair, skin & nails, v important for the bride!

cairns · 10/12/2010 10:28

Well done lottie mad isn't it, I tend to stick for ages then suddenly drop bizarre. Another 1.5 lbs off for me today so that is 2.5 lbs in 2 days after sticking for ages, crazy. Am not complaining though I am on the slow but steady track of 1 - 2 lbs a week. I too am baking for a kids xmas party and making Xmas pud this weekend too, must be good, will just give them to dh to taste.

Well done greenfig let's hope you stick there this weekend. I am on track now to hit my next target in the next couple of weeks or so, slightly off the original plan but still can't believe how well I have (we have) done so far especially given I have never lost this much weight by focusing on it before. Even dh looked at me this morning and said he was really proud (bless!)

Fab news cairns too, must be all that buggy walking!
I started mid Oct at 151lb, now 139lb-12lb lost-target 134lb. We're all about 2/3rds there I think? Just the last push now but we have to enjoy Christmas!

shinybaubles · 10/12/2010 12:30

Hi everyone, thanks for all the encouragement I guess I will come off attack after the weekend.
Have pils visiting this evening for the weekend, so been manically cleaning today.
lottie and greenfig you have lost loads - that's fab.
I started early December at 181 lbs am now at 169 so about 12lbs down.

greenfig · 10/12/2010 13:11

Shiny it's taken me almost 2 months to lose as much as you have in just over a week, you must be over the moon!
Finished my canapes & shoot lunch, off to do cleaning too now, hopefully help to shift a bit more. Have a lovely w/e all, think of me working feeding everyone else & scoffing ham!

shinybaubles · 10/12/2010 13:33

No no that should say almost 9 lbs down, clearly my kilo to lbs calculations are a bit wrong Blushso embarassed but thanks freenfig

cairns · 10/12/2010 14:31

Here's mine
started mid-oct - weight 159 lbs, currently 141 lbs , therefore lost 18 lbs (11% of body weight!) Xmas Shock. pre-Xmas target is 139 lbs, final target is around 132 lbs (or 60kgs).

and one positive side effect is today I seem to have perfected the art of the perfect soft boiled egg! Grin

Lottie 38lbs lost (and at least 17% body weight!!) Xmas Shock good going!

Loving the new % stats cairns! Will have to make another chart!
Yes lottie I'm a caterer. I'm fine with it now it's just inconvenient as we lived on leftovers or doubled up menus where appropriate & also using up odds & ends ingredients in our meals. Am freezing quite a lot of portions for family & getting used to having something else myself.
Was 9.12 3/4lb sat am yippee a new number!
Was back to 9.13 3/4 this am after out at friends Sad Was fun though, even though I was really good I didn't feel like I was missing out. On the positive side (thanks cairns!) I'm still under 10Smile
9.11 1/2 next mini target, will be 1 stone lost, watch this space....
How all you newbies doing? Have we lost DD & Laila?

shinybaubles · 13/12/2010 08:14

Hey everyone, well I had the pils here for the weekend and they came accompanied by cookes, chocolate and cake, I resisted all until Sunday evening and gave into the chocolate, and was sick after 15 minutes and had tummy problems all evening Blush

  • serves me right for cheating. I also had two bowls of soup during the weekend and my water conumption and exercise went out the weekend - needless to say I am back up today by 1 lb.
Also almost fainted when I realised I didn't have 2 weeks until the wedding in fact it's next week and I hadn't really realised Blush Hope everyone else did better this weeekend.

hi all - i've done 7 days so far started on 3 days of attack last monday. i lost a lot of weight 3 kilos by thursday (had 6 to lose), although i did this probably mostly due to the fact i could hardly eat, i was affected badly i had severe pains on my upper stomatch (i was in tears with hot water bottle and a sleeping tab) so went to bed and pains in my kidney area, did anyone else feel any physical effects apart from hunger? i think it was hunger and maybe a shock to too much protein, i didnt want to stop as was also a little too happy about weight loss over health Blush. since then have only done PV days as im very scared about going back to PP, im not really a protein fan so was eating chicken egg and fish which you do start to get sick off. sorry for negative post just wanted to see if anyone experienced anything similar in the beginning. im also up on weight this morning so i know i need to do a PP to get back on but i cant face it. Confused not giving up though as ive started now and you have all successfully managed it.

greenfig · 13/12/2010 12:54

lottie & shiny that's SO unfair! I can put that much on with a glass of wine! On the plus side it does focus my mind re being naughty, but I do wonder how i will ever manage consolidation when I seem so sensitive to gain.Hmm shiny 1 week to go, how exciting!! I had a similar response when I had a few sneaky carbs away 1 w/e. I put it down to nothing but I wonder? I have heard that it's common to crave things that we are sensitive or even allergic to. Before the diet I was having some tummy trouble that was put down to my pain relief. It has gone away since I cut the carbs & alcohol (my weaknesses!) Maybe you are sensitive to choc? pp poor you, only bad experience I had was above. Have you been drinking lots? Well done though, great results Smile
