hi there all - sorry to barge in but im going to start attack tomorrow aiming to lose 6kilos to reach target just over 8stone - have 3 days of attack. Can anyone advise on fat free flavoured yoghurts, which brands, as i didnt find any with the aspartame? hope someone can advice thanks! (onken or yeo valley vanilla ok??)its great how far you have all come!!

Janeytalk · 05/12/2010 20:18

I also have yoghurt confusion!

cairns · 05/12/2010 21:25

Welcome janey pinkestand elsie hopefully you will start to see great results leading up to Xmas.

Well done greenfig on hitting that target. Fab news can't believe how close you are now to thinking about achieving your final target. I am still a few lbs off 10st but plan on giving it a good go over the next week or so. Your final target is the same as mine.

Well done shiney lottie and zaazaa too.

reading how you are all doing is keeping me on track. I must admit my fridge is a little bare at the moment as the weather has stopped me shopping so I have been looking at dh's food with envy.

No loss here for quite a few days despite being good. I think it is lack of exercise, I have been frustratingly stuck in with the snow.

Re yoghurts I tend to go for either activis vanilla, or muller lights (non fruit) as they are easy to get hold of. I think many on this thread do too. But because they have some carbs I try not to have too many in a day (2-3 max).

janeytalk · 06/12/2010 07:39

Thanks for that cairns, will go for the Activia vanilla as that is really yummy. On day 2 now, eek.

shinybaubles · 06/12/2010 08:19

Hi everyone well day 6 of attack 6lbs down now, I have to admit it's pretty easy at this stage, I thought i would be missing things like chocolate and bread etc - but not having any cravings, just for some tomatoes and broccoli. I am doing 10 days of attack. If I can shift 3 kilos before the wedding I will be happy.

Hi janey, pinktest and elsie.

cairns I do get food envy doesn't help when people around you are scoffing Toblerone and cheese straws Envy

Hi greenfig and lottie hope you had good weekends.
And I have noticed that my weighthas all gone off my chest may create a few problems with the wedding dress.

greenfig · 06/12/2010 09:27

Hi girlies! Great to see so many newbies, Christmas I guess!
Well as usual I'm up again, 10.1 1/2 this am.
Was reading through some old posts of lotties in Sep regarding mindset & can really relate to that now. I had such a '10st thing' as its been a few years since I've been under that I really didn't think I could do it. Now I need to keep focus as like you lottie I'm having that 'how much difference can a slip make' mentality & it's a prob that I can't imagine losing any more. I had a few glasses of wine, a small piece of bread, a biscuit & 2 chocs since fri am & have put on 2 1/2lbs. Also the food as fuel feeling rather than the pleasure it was. I don't CRAVE things, just miss the feeling of treats being indulgent. It's not that I'm not enjoying the food it's just such a different way of eating. Does anyone else feel like this?
shiny my boobs have gone too, just after I bought giant pre diet bras at huge expense!!
cairns you are so positive, you had a lull like this before then made a big drop so lets stick together, keep focused & make that target!

pinkestpink · 06/12/2010 11:55

ooo don?t want my boobs to go (im not exactly large) Blush .
I?ve started today but will stock up on yoghurts as I do crave sweet well I just crave chocolate which will inevitably be my slips! no no slips! Anyway thank you for yoghurt clarification! will also go for activia vanilla

cairns · 06/12/2010 12:26

Hi, ha ha to the boobs mine are smaller too, but I am comparing it to prob nearly 4 yrs of preg/feeding. I prefer them smaller tbh, clothes fit better.

I agree with a new way if looking at food, we went out for some Italian food at the weekend. I ordered a healthy salad and dh had a pizza, it looked nice but I just kept thinking I really don't want that!

Thanks greenfig Even though I am plateauing again I think I am fairly positive and determined. My thinking is I have never been this low weight in years, my clothes fit better, I show weight on my face so that looks better and I find dukan easy to follow and I really really don't want to gain the weight back. So I will keep going until I hit the target and then consolidate properly. I have had a few cheats and these have set me back, but I think that is part of it tbh it is hard constantly being strict in situations whereby you have no control. But all in all I am feeling great so roll on!

janeytalk · 06/12/2010 19:48

Hello, day 2 coming to an end, was going OK till mid-afternoon and then literally slumped! In hindsight I should have taken more snacks to work, but its hard to think of what to take?

Book says first few days are the worst so I hope that right!! I suppose my body is really used to carbs, they are my downfall tbh, tried Atkins once and nearly fainted (before running off for a medicinal chocolate flapjack), but have higher hopes for this diet. I REALLY need to shift the pounds as I'm off snowboarding and poor little legs won't be able to take it Smile

greenfig · 06/12/2010 21:18

Stay strong janey It helped me to eat before I got hungry, & plenty of water. You don't want to get a blood sugar dip & then have to reach for that flapjack! Ham, tuna, sm mackerel, do you have a fridge at work?

janeytalk · 06/12/2010 22:19

Thanks greenfig yes I have a fridge - I guess I need to be filling it with the above. I don't want to sound negative, I am committed to this, but I'm suffering a bit :)

Hey everyone well today is 1 week on attack and I have lost 6.6lbs, 3kilos - I think that's ok, will carry on with attack for another 4 days.
janey I agree with greenfig i eat before I get hungry.

shinybaubles · 07/12/2010 08:02

lottie maybe if you gave yourself some kind of goal like a special oufit you want to wear at Christmas, or an event you have to go to that might help you focus. I guess the good news is you know the diet works. Stay strong.

Thanks lottieI'm hoping I can get rid of another 3 kilos before the wedding, I hate being the centre of attention, and hate photos too..it will take all my courage to get through the day.
We're leaving for London on the 17th - am so looking forward to it Smile I will panic about all the food over the Christmas period later .

How are you doing today Cairns? Do you still have lots of snow & no exercise? Am back down 1lb but have had terrible headache for 24hrs.

cairns · 07/12/2010 13:30

Hi there, still the same , the scales are not moving neither up nor down. No exercise either, apart from a few short walks, no snow just ice and I have never been one for jumping around to a DVD. I do think I need to get thongs moving, convinced exercise will do it.

I have been really good the last few days too. Roast chicken Sunday and yesterday made some chicken soup delicous. Had to stop dh snaffling one of MY yoghurts last night too as he finished off his bar of chocolate!

Glad you are back down again greenfig. That is fab. You are so so close to your targets, it will be a new year, new you!

lottie agree with shiny try and set a target for when you return back here at Xmas, maybe treat yourself to something new to wear if you do it, might help. You just need to get into the zone of losing again, maybe a few days focused on attack might help get you going again?

cairns · 07/12/2010 13:35

Sorry forgot to say shiny that is some good going there. I do think losing a few kgs will make you feel wonderful on your wedding day, although you will feel lovely anyway. Just be careful though i lost weight for my wedding too in the weeks before, not intentional I was just ill. On my wedding day I put the dress on and it nearly fell off me at the top, mum had to do some emergency sewing, safety pinning Grin

janeytalk · 07/12/2010 20:45

Well day 3 and feeling bit better, thanks for all the encouragement. And 2 pounds down, can't be bad.

Well done lottie shiny & Janey on your great losses Grin
I ate LOADS yesterday but all Dukan & have shifted the headache. Am just 1/4 lb down today, still 1 1/4 up from lowest. Am trying to be sunny & positive like cairns!
Made an order of 100 mince pies yesterday & didn't even eat 1 warm broken 1!

shinybaubles · 08/12/2010 12:23

Hi everyone no loss for me today but not surprising as I picked at the dinner I made for ds and he didn't eat Blush
and really didn't have much water. But back on track today so not too bothered.
Good going lottie and janey.
greenfig I am also trying to stay positive.
OMG it's 2 weeks to the wedding (where is the panic face)

cairns · 08/12/2010 13:04

Well done lottie and janey great going.

Have just noticed my typo from yesterday GrinGrin no way would I wear one of those in this weather brrrr.

greenfig stick in there you are doing great and what a mindset not to touch that mincepie. I have been baking more too recently and am amazed I haven't wanted even the smallest morsel .

Still no change today, I have upped the water and walked everywhere. yesterday and today so I am giving it a good go. On the positive I have already lost a stone and it has stayed off so a) it has worked and b) am convinced it is my body getting used to the new weight. I re-read a bit of the book last night and I think it will be slower now. I looked at my charts too and there is a definate downward trend and then it sticks before it moves down again so we will see.
