Well done attackers!
Thanks *cairns for your encouragement & 10stone vibes, it has worked! 9.13 1/2 this am, I couldn't quite beleive it it's been so long! I had 3 attempts & still same!
yippee, 2nd target hit.Grin
Congrats shiny do you have a dress that will need taking in in 3 weeks time?

shinybaubles · 01/12/2010 16:10

Great going greenfig, I do have a dress that fits perfectly, and looks pretty good despite my weight, am feeling a bit sad nothing off yet and almost at the end of the day2. Dp thinks I have lost the plot too Hmm

greenfig · 01/12/2010 16:27

shiny I lost nothing on 1st day & only 3 or 4lbs in 3 days of attack but have made a slow & steady drop of 12lbs in 6 weeks in total. I can really feel the difference & although I do take 2 steps forward & 1 back (v frustrating!) I have found it quite easy to stick to as I'm not hungry. The attack stage took away those carb cravings & whilst I was disappointed not to drop a big amount like others I guess it worked in that it has enabled me to stick at it. Don't give up as I get so fed up when nothing happens then feel so glad I stuck at it when I have another downward shift. Others have done so well & lost lots quickly so hang in there, all the support has really encouraged me.
Good Luck!

Recipe for Attack Phase (leave out cucumber or keep in for PV phase) friendly Kofta kebabs

500g minced turkey or lean beef
2 tbsp chopped oregano
1 tsp ground coriander
Grated zest and juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tsp crushed dried chilli (optional)
Ground black pepper
1 diced cucumber
150g fat free natural yogurt
1 finely chopped garlic clove
3 tbsp chopped mint
Mix together the mince, oregano, coriander, lemon zest and black pepper.
Squeeze mixture around 12 skewers (if you have no skewers, shape into burgers instead).
Grill or barbecue the koftas until they are browned and cooked through (should take about 10-12 mins).
For the dip mix the remaining ingredients together.

zaazaa · 01/12/2010 16:48

I lost a pound this morning! Hooray!

zaazaa · 01/12/2010 16:50

Vietnamese beef was delicious but being a chilli fiend, I had to havea dash of tabasco too Grin highly recommended recipe and would work well with chicken too!

greenfig · 02/12/2010 09:41

Back up a lb today, predictably!
Are you still out there lailarose & DD?

divadoll · 02/12/2010 10:50

greenfig still here SmileActually lost some this morning 70.3 but due to the run in I had with BF yesterday and not eating anythng most of the day, so know that will go back on again soon :(
Still with him out of the way now it will be easier instead of him moaning about my faddy diet!!

WildistheWind · 02/12/2010 10:54

Morning all-

Attack Day 4- Overall lost : 7 pounds.

I kind of cheated yesterday, I was dying for a soup as it was sooo cold in the office.

I did find some Marigold Vegetable Bouillon Powder with no gluten or yeast- Vegan version which amounts to 17 calories a cup and nearly no carbs. I put my M&S Mexican Chicken Strip in a bowl of the said bouillon and it was divine! I added a bit of chili paste and it made a nice warming spicy chicken soup.

Didn't seem to impact on the diet itself as I lost a further 2 pounds overnight.

Onwards, Only today and tomorrow on attack still and I can have veggies Saturday !

Hi everyone
Greenfigs thanks for the encouragement.
zaazaa that recipe sounds great actually may try at the weekend.
londonlottie I too have cheated I had 5 chips yesterday and had my chicken with skin on out of sheer laziness Hmm .
Will weigh tomorrow, am walking ds to school and back everyday, and doing 4kmonmy bike, so hopefully something has gone, am going to have a houseload of good things to eat this weekend too with Sinterklaas arriving Envy
and I love lindt - good taste

cairns · 03/12/2010 08:25

Well done pegs that is a fab loss on attack, wow. Well done.

Divadoll and zaazaa well done too is great when the scales start going down again. That recipe sounds fab I am continuing to look for inspiration on what to cook as I am loving experimenting with healthy flavours at the moment.

greenfig I am sure it will drop back off again under 10stone, well done. I have days going slightly up then down and I think now it is my body adjusting to the new low weight, as it then sticks at that.

lottie hope the night out was fun and not too much damage.

I mixed few days here. I was 3/4lb down this morning though surprisingly as I have been awful. I had a dinner out with DH this week (non dukan unfortunately) and wine, a night out and went shopping yesterday and had lunch out and the only choice was a sandwich wrap. Other than that I have been good but not great.

So back in the zone now. I cooked a chicken curry last night (toms, peppers, chicken, onion and spices) and it was lovely and served it up minus the rice with some yoghurt stirred in. very warming and hearty. Porridge for brekkie again here.

Quiet weekend planned, so hoping I can gain some momentum, but unfortunately no exercise due to the weather.

divadoll · 03/12/2010 08:54

Yup as expected..that loss yesterday is back on so back at 71.3 again this morning :(
Oh well we shall see if we are even going to make it to London for the show and a meal tomorrow as the limo may not get down our roads!!

Dear God! Last night I was possessed by the demon of ravenousness...

I couldn't stop eating - 2 protein shakes, a packet of ham, 2 boiled eggs, cottage cheese, yoghurt, chicken satay, smoked salmon...

I ate enough to sink a battleship but 1.5lbs down this morning so now back to where I was until my loss was cruelly halted by a week of blow outs. Hurrah!

Really shocked I catually lost weight though, was fully expecting the scales to register a 2 pound gain!

Freyby go to Holland & Barratt and buy some Psyllium capsules, they are half price at the moment, around £5 and take them every day. They naturally help you overcome constipation, no chemicals they just bulk up inside you and have no calories or carbs. I am a bit slow in that department too and they have really helped.

MrsGuyOfChristmasBorn · 03/12/2010 13:36

zaazaa, that is so heartening!
Btw - I know we're not supposed to consider calories, but looked @ the calories on a pack of prawns and was amazed at how few, and how filling prawns are.
200g = filling lunch and only 160 cals. Xmas Shock
So stocked up on lots today in Tescos!

zaazaa · 03/12/2010 20:38

MrsG, it's fantastic to be able to scoff the allowed foods like an utter glutton and still lose. There is a God! Wink

I too love the prawns and at the moment in Lidl, they are having a really good deal on seafood. I have them with nando's piri piri sauce in the bottle. A teaspoon is enough to keep it interesting Grin

A prawn ring with large king prawns is £2.49

A whole lobster less than a fiver, velvet carbs for the same. Sea bass fillets £2.89 for two and their steak mince is half price at £1.89 a large packet. Their duck is on offer too.

Money is rather tight in the run up to Christmas so I am shopping around and this diet can be a little more expensive than normal so these allowed foods at bargain prices are a real boon.

Lottie what an ace feeling that must be to get into your old clothes! I have a wardrobe full of size 14's and 12's awaiting my derriere....Well done you!

greenfig · 03/12/2010 22:14

Well done lottie! I stupidly had a throw out & THEN finally got motivated enough to go on diet Duh! Still my bootlegs are no longer looking like leggings & I feel so much more comfortable in everything. Was down to 9.13 today almost 1 stone gone. Was out for lunch & Christmas shopping so had sneaky spritzer but good at lunch then glass of red & small piece of delicious white french bread at supper mmmm. Today only 6lbs to go to target (obviously will be back up tomorrow as always!) but beginning to beleive I'm actually going to do it Xmas Shock
Well done everyone, have a great w/e

shinybaubles · 04/12/2010 08:33

Great going lottie I can't wait to get into some of my clothes.
zaazaa I love seafood but it is scandalously expensive here Envy.

I am aiming for the January sales - I hope I have gone down a size by then but that maybe overly ambitious.

Anyway today is day 5 for me and I have lost 2.5kilos or 5.5 pounds, have not felt hungry yet - very strange as I am a really foody and love cooking.

Right then, time for action me thinks, thanks for all the inspiration, have read the book (well mostly), bought the goodies (??) from Ocado, and am starting in the morning. Would really like to shed 1.5 st by mid Feb. Sorry for coming into the discussion so late but wanted to join in the discussions have been such useful reading.

zaazaa · 04/12/2010 20:58

welcome janey, great that you joined our ranks Smile

shiny that is REALLY good going!

greenfig looking forward to hearing you tell us you hit the target Grin

lottie wow! I knew Swiss-o-land was trop cher but didn't realize quite how much! Get going girl, you are doing fantastically and your posts help me so much. This is just a temporary dip in motivation. Enjoy the prosecco, positively envious as stuck in Attack phase doldrums....shall spend the restof the evening fantasizing about bubbles Envy Grin

Janeytalk · 05/12/2010 14:34

I could do with some advice (already!) - 0% yoghurts - are these OK even when they have some sugar in them e.g. Mullerlights, weightwatchers etc. have a few grams of carbs in them. Also smoked mackerel - lovely but full of fat! I'm hoping this is OK as have just eaten it for lunch ;)

elsiepiddock · 05/12/2010 14:46

This thread has motivated me.

I am 5 days in to Attack and have lost 7lb despite two days where I drank wine!

Dh made me my first galette this am and it was surprisingly OK.
