Haha cairns and londonlottie I know exactly what you mean, my mother has always used the phrase "you look well", to which my immediate thought is "I've obviously put on weight", there's sometimes no winning in our minds is there?

I'm firmly back on the wagon this morning, had a slight slip up with lebkuchen last night, but packet is finished, and will not be replaced which should make it easier.

Question - has anyone used wii fit to monitor their weight? we don't own a pair of scales so was going to go off how clothing is fitting, but it would be nice to see the pounds dropping! Does anyone know how accurate it is?

zaazaa am loving that positive spin, that's the way forward, was the sin REALLY good while it lasted?!
Am back up 2lbs this am! So unfair, once agin a situation where you try ro make the best decision from bad choices in an unavoidable situation, topped by a couple of glasses of fizz at a friends b'day party later same night. Also she had loads of pastry canapes & naughty stuff that I avoided. I felt uncomfortable as it was great they all noticed I'd lost weight but there was a lot of 'faddy' & 'pile it all back on' bandied about. I ended up having a tiny bit of cheese & a cracker as I kept getting asked if there was ANYTHING I could eat! I wasn't even hungry, just embarassed!
So cross with myself it's where I was on monday& will now be at least a week before I get to that next mini target. POO!

SnowieBear · 27/11/2010 09:01

Hello, ladies, glad everyone is making progress! More tales of consolidation from me... I've been consolidating for a couple of months now (at least it feels like it!) and it's going remarkably well if you don't account for the strange fact that I've been losing weight.

I started consolidating when I reached my target weight of 9st 6lbs and now I'm weighting in at 8st 10lbs Shock. I have managed to integrate all the additions that Dr Dukan recommends in the last month, as I thought I was still losing weight by not doing it right. Still, the weight kept of dropping off until quite recently.

My typical breakfast nowadays is a skimmed white coffee with sweeteners and a toasted sandwich (wholemeal bread) with my cheese allowance and lean ham or smoked salmon and scrambled egg. For lunch I'm demolishing lean ham or prawn salads with low-cal dressing, followed by yog & oat bran. I drink black coffee and water throughout the day, and also two or three cans of Diet Coke. Evening meals protein and veg, obviously, except for my carb meal and my celebration meal once a week. I tend to go for pasta for both, as I've really missed it, the main difference is that for the carb meal I'd cook it Dukan-style, and go mad for the celebration one. I've discovered individual bottles of wine at Tesco from a kind of "good for you range" with fewer carbs, so I allow myself a couple of glasses a week too without any negative effects.

I really think my weight has reached its bottom and I won't lose any more - thank God, I look OK with clothes, but starting to resemble a sack of bones without! I'll be on part two of consolidation for Christmas, which is great and will give me more flexibility for meals with family and I'm absolutely terrified of what my mum will say of my weight loss when I see her next month. Somehow, I don't think she's going to approve... It's really good to be in a position now where I know that even if I put on a couple of pounds over Christmas, it's hardly going to show and I'll be easy to get back down if I need to.

Well done to everyone for carrying on, all my best wishes to you for continued success!

divadoll · 27/11/2010 09:48

Weighed in at 71.8 this morning so it is CREEEPING off. Its 6lb in 3 weeks now so hardly a fast mover, but I am not hungry, so I suppose that is a bonus. I so hope I am down to 70 by next weekend as I have a party to go to and want it to be 70 or under by then.

cairns · 27/11/2010 10:24

snowiebear wow I didn;t expect that on consolidation. Well done it is fab reading such an inspiring account of how well you have done and are continuing. You must be feeling great.

divadoll well done 6lbs (half stone nearly) in 3 weeks is fab and will be noticeable.

greenfig ignore your friends they are just jealous as they don;t have the motivation/inclination to do it. It is working for you and you find it easy and enjoyable (when not being harrassed to eat by others). I must admit I find it easy, DH obviously knows but I have kept it quiet from some friends and family members as I don't want them to remark faddy which will reduce my motivation. It is not faddy, just easy and it takes my hunger pangs away and we are all seeing results.

Talking about results another 1lb down this morning, I am back in the zone and only 4lbs to go to get to 10stone now. I think it is because I went for a 30min run last night (very very cold outside brrrrr) Grin.

greenfig · 27/11/2010 12:27

Thanks cairns the funny thing is, in our gang of friends there is only 1 girl bigger than me, they are all slim! Am further inspired by snowiebear so will get to 10stone asap! Well done on your further shift & run!

divadoll · 27/11/2010 16:51

greenfig I know how you feel as all my mates are all tall slim blondes and I am the short dark dumpy one LOL

greenfig · 27/11/2010 20:09

If they weren't so nice I'd find new friends!
We won't be dumpy for long...

cairns · 27/11/2010 21:56

Mmmm just cooked moussaka ..... Thanks greenfig yummy. Hope all is going well with everyone!

shinybaubles · 28/11/2010 07:20

Hi everyone can I join too, I have spent the last day reading all your old posts and it was very inspirational. I have ordered the Dukan books, hoping they arrive soon - but am in Belgium so could be a few days yet. Really want to start on Monday. Desperate to loose some weight Sad .

shinybaubles · 28/11/2010 07:42

I did an Atkins diet when I left uni and was at my best weight ever. My bestfriends are rice and bread Sad . Any tips on whatI should eat until my books get here ?

cairns · 28/11/2010 08:10

Welcome shinybaubles if you gon on the official dukan website it will help you out until the book arrives and is great for telling you how long to go on attack and maybe what your target weight is.

Generally though most people start it with 3 to 5 days of attack. Which means cutting out all carbs and eating lean protein only ( chicken, fish, eggs, fat free yoghurts) as well as 1.5 tbsp of oatbran (either as porridge, in a yoghurt or as a galette) and drinking lots of water . The first few days are are a bit monotonous and are designed to take away your carb cravings. But you will start to notice a difference. Dukan recommends weighing in every day during it and also during attack don't worry about howuch or when you eat don't restrict yourself and drink lots of fluid. (coffee tea etc all ok as long as you use skimmed milk) hope that helps to get you started. There are some good protein only ideas on here to get you started as I think it is important that youenjoy the food too. After your attack phase then you will move onto the cruise phase which is alternating protein only days , with protein and veggie days ( still no carbs or fat) . Good luck!

cairns · 28/11/2010 08:14

Typos galore this morning (bleary eyed). No change today but happy as those 1lbs dropped over the past few days are still off. Was mostly good yesterday (bar a full fat small latte and a g&t last night) but went for another chilly run to make up for it. Tried on some more clothes yesterday trying to find an outfit and have defo dropped a dress size, woohoo getting slightly less dumpy now.

shinybaubles · 28/11/2010 08:25

Wow cairns sounds like you're doing really well.
Not sure where I will locate oatbran, do enjoy meat so that bit should be ok although not a fan of yoghurt or eggs, so this might prove a bit challenging.
Going to visit website and see what I can glean.

shinybaubles · 28/11/2010 08:52

Have been to dukan website and I need toget from 80 kilos to 58.4 kilos - about 22 kilos to shift - yikes.Blush

WildistheWind · 28/11/2010 08:56

Hi ladies- may I re-join your ranks ?

Had a great summer following the diet and then got promoted-had a holiday and been so busy I have fallen off the wagon.Blush I'm not proud-I have put all the weight back on plus extra Sad

I need to loose a stone.

I have rejoined the gym last week and starting Attack tomorrow for 5 days.

greenfig · 28/11/2010 08:57

Good luck shinybaubles you'll have to get inventive with fish me thinks! You may find cottage cheese helps if you like that. Glad you enjoyed the moussaka & V impressed with the running cairns! Am back down a lb this am but still up 1lb from lowest weight.Sad Will go for a big walk in the cold & back to pp tomorrow. I prefer to do pv @ w/es for more normal family meals with the children. Hopefully carry on the general downward trend, wish there was slightly less ups though!

greenfig · 28/11/2010 15:00

Oh pegsonthemistletoe I can't imagine doing this all over again having lost the weight! What happened, did you do the consolidation? You obviously feel like it works to do it again, good luck this time.

bonnyb1 · 28/11/2010 15:22

Hi, mind if I join too? Been reading through the posts and it's very motivating. I am on day 4 of the attack phase, have lost 3lb so far, I need to lose 10lb in total. Haven't been hungry during this phase but it is a bit boring, really looking forward to some veg tomorrow! Bit worried though as tomorrow I start a full time job and not sure what the eating arrangements will be, I'm taking some food with me, hope I can just eat that. I know they have lots of buffet style lunches......Smile

WildistheWind · 28/11/2010 15:47

I had great results with Attack & Cruise; It's when I was in Consolidation that I fell off the wagon when it got too stessful and I started comfort eating. I feel so silly.

divadoll · 29/11/2010 07:58

Another little bit off this morning 71.2...70 for the weekend is looking a possibility aster all :D
