Undertone · 20/08/2010 09:07

Was 13 stone 3 last Fri. Am 13 stone 1.6 today. 1.4 pounds down this week. 32.6 pounds down since March. 28.6 pounds to go until I'm a healthy BMI.

Well done losers. Chin up, maintainers. Sort yourself out, biffers! Grin

mamamiafigaro · 20/08/2010 09:10

Well done to the losers!

I am still the same (14st 4lb), will strive to have lost by next friday, i promise.

BudaisintheZONE · 20/08/2010 11:33

Well done losers!!!!

Undertone - you have put me to shame. I started in March too but have only lost 21 lbs. Blush

OP posts:
magentastardust · 20/08/2010 12:42

Well I weighed in today and 15st 7lbs -Down 3 pounds this week but have been very good and done lots of excercise.
Chuffed but period due next week so will prob put on a couple again next week so will have to be very careful this week.
Well done everyone else who has lost.

Undertone · 20/08/2010 12:51

Buda - what do you mean only???

I'm tackling this diet from the privileged position of having no dependents to look after - all my time outside of working hours is my own, and I don't really have anything to do apart from focus on this. I think the fact that you have a busy life, full of family (and dogs!) and have STILL managed to shed a hefty 21 pounds is A-MAZING.

cyb · 20/08/2010 16:03

I think I Might ahve lost a pound.

Not great though is it?

Also it could ahve been cos I leant back slightly on the scales

mamamiafigaro · 20/08/2010 19:13

Well done on the 1lb Cyb.

Today went like this;

Breakfast- 2 slices wholemeal toast (small slices) 2 PE and 2 smokey bacon (fat removed and George foremaned).

Lunch- Reduced fat feta, pineapple and red onion salsa with salad (was revolting, thought it would be a good combo but clearly not!)

Dinner- (whispers) 1 Sausage, 4tbs baked beans and wedges (small portion)

.....must try harder tomorrow.

I WILL BE THIN, I WILL BE THIN, I WILL BE THIN.....if i stopped eating the likes of sausages perhaps

TotalChaos · 20/08/2010 20:48

ilythia - sorry about MIL.

well done losers! I forgot it was weigh in day, will weigh tomorrow morning, and post.

mama - you can get low fat sausages at the supermarket if you are into that...

encylogirl - good sub choice!

racmac - nuts are v. fatty and calorific I'm afraid. for savoury snacks, try pretzels or japanese rice cracker type things.

buda - happy st. steven's day! missing meals is a killer isn't it, as you then end up biffing through starvation pangs!

cyb · 20/08/2010 20:49

I'm sure I've put lb back on

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 20/08/2010 20:55

Well done losers!

mamamiafigaro · 20/08/2010 21:23

Totalchaos - dont normally eat sausages but as weather was rank and cupboards bare i needed to delve into the chest freezer and hope for the best.

Will redeem ones self tomorrow with a power walk to sainsburys (3.2 miles round trip) with dc.

BudaisintheZONE · 21/08/2010 08:37

Still not fully in zone. Sigh. What is WRONG with me???

Undertone - I typed out a reply to you yesterday but lost it! Anyway... thanks for comment. I know 21lbs is a lot but it is frustrating to think I could have lost more if I really tried. And I am struggling this week. And every time before that I have been this successful I get stuck at this stage and put it all back on and then more!

Oh well. I think next week will be hard as have friend here and a night out on Thursday and a party here on Saturday. So. I will keep trying but am getting myself REALLY back on track from next Monday 30th. School starts back the next day so I am hoping it will be easier to stick to zoning when life is more normal. I think I will also take time out to reread all my posts from when I started posting on these threads. Maybe that will inspire me a bit.

So. Well done all losers. And for the rest of us - get a GRIP!

OP posts:
TotalChaos · 21/08/2010 10:02

mama - good idea, the powerwalk

buda - long haul dieting can be boring as f*ck, particularly when slipping in and out of the zone. so let us all bully motivate you into continuing.

so - think damage limitation - accept the nights out will be less healthy, and I imagine more boozy companionable evenings - but other than that STICK to Zoney eating.

mamamiafigaro · 21/08/2010 13:11

Power walking was not so sucessful as only went half the didstance i intended as i found NITS!!!! in dd hair, so i had to de-tour to Boots and buy the treatment as i was freaked out at the beasts and needed them removed pronto!

So i have spent the afternoon/morning with nit lotion on my head. Lovely.

PS what is "the zone", is it a perticular diet style or just healthy eating?

coolkat · 21/08/2010 18:10

Trying to zone but I have vile what appears to be PMT nad my period is a week late. I am sure its going to arrive my cycles are all to pot but today my mood Arghhhhh!

No breakfast, chicken sald, yog, half cereal bar as shared with DD2

Tea 2 waffles with beans small slice of thin based pizza, going to have a plum and peach in min.

DH working all weekend.
My only failure has been some licqrish allsorts considering the day I have had its quite good! Really struggling with my cycles keep getting pain but no period and just feel vile, amazing how the time of the month effects how we feel and wat we eat etc.

Happy saturday nights. Smile

TotalChaos · 21/08/2010 19:53

oh yuk, nits, nightmare, was plagued with them last year and year before, touch wood not for a while....

zone is when you are really motivated so eat the right stuff etc without it being massive effort.

coolkat - next time have breakfast, OK?

mamamiafigaro · 22/08/2010 08:42

OK so dd has been de-nitted and everyone else treated, sheets boiled etc all hair care equipment sterilised.

Still feel yucky.

Anyhoo im in the "zone" although last night i did treat myself to a Turkish Delight (DP was getting chocolate and i didnt want left out), but on a god note i had no alcohol.

Today i will need to show restraint as at a christening and afterwards there will be a Hog Roast. Need i say more.

Apart from walking , not been doing much exercise and feel a bit lazy. Will hopefully find time this week, as i have been cramming for an assignment due tomorrow (was waaaaaay behind and still not actually wrote any of the essay!)

I work best under pressure, so will be done tonight (hopefully), also my Shred DVD still not here.

Undertone · 22/08/2010 09:52

Was at an engagement party last night. Everything was going fine until the crucial 4th glass of wine tipping point. It was a BBQ so had a burger without bun, chicken breast, salad... then I spotted someone had brought home-made brownie cupcakes and the booze went 'eeeeaaaat oooooone. eeeeeaaaat oooone.' I was powerless. On the bright side, it was superb.

Wangled a lift back to LOndon at 10pm so also managed not to get paralytic. Bit fuzzy-headed now but I am DETERMINED to do some exercise today and not biff.

I watched level 3 of the Shred. Oh. My. God. Think I'll be on level 2 for a little longer.

racmac · 22/08/2010 12:14

oops i hit the wine last night which meant i had no self control over the port scratchings that dh was munching on Blush

and also no go in me this morning to do Shred DVD

Come on undertone - you can do level 3 - im on day 5 or i will be if i get a minute to do it today although i have to do the easy option

CheeeseOnToast · 22/08/2010 13:45

hi everyone. I'm still going, persevering, but I've not weighed for a while, somewhat deliberately. I found it rather disheartening as I was struggling to lose. So instead I focused on eating more healthy food and doing more exercise. I've found a running parter who lives near me and we've met up twice since Thursday to run round the park, so that's been great. OMG I've just used mapmyrun site and it says that i ran 4.9 miles yesterday morning! Blimey. I did a bit less than that on Thursday - and walked parts of it . But yesterday's run, wow that's 8km Shock I'm genuinely surprised at that.

I have the Shred DVD which arrived last week but I've not used it yet. Think I'll try it tomorrow morning before work. So I need weights for the level 1?

Sounds like everyone's doing well. Sorry Ilythia about your MIL.

I'll be doing the ipodge thing too I think, Cyb. Although my birthday is in the first few days of September so don't know how good I'll be Hmm Grin

Food yesterday was special k for breakfast (just a small bowl, about 3 spoons, as it was only a half hour before my run). Lunch was a bowl of porridge, then no snacks at all until dinner which was home made shepherd's pie, in which I put loads of carrot, celery and onion, v low fat lamb mince and i skimmed it constantly so barely any fat at all. No butter in potatoes, just two egg yolks to make it feel more 'meaty' and crisp up nicely. It was gorgeous. So I had a small portion of that with a pile of shredded cabbage (which had a touch of butter on). No dessert, but about two glasses of red wine.

Food today so far, small bowl special k at 9, then bacon, scrambled egg (no fat or milk) and grilled tomatoes with one wholemeal toast. Two cups tea.

Trying to resist walking to shop to buy crap to eat. Hmm

I will weigh in next Friday with you all, promise.

tibni · 22/08/2010 16:46

wedding anniversary yesterday - 17 years, so had take out.

managed a gym session today with run and weights. This coming week its going to be tough getting gym sessions in around the dc and work so I am thinking about introducing a bit of street running into my programme until the dc are back at school just to boost myself.

Motivation has been low this week, but I know I have had PMT and that the week before im due I always find tough so will focus and refind the zone.

duckyfuzz · 22/08/2010 17:05

So far out of the zone here, hope I can find my way back in Sept, diet today of baguette, steak, wine, m&ms

encyclogirl · 22/08/2010 20:51

Distasterous 24 hours of meals with friends. There was chocolate cake...twice.

But, I had such a lovely time with my pals, je ne regret rein..sorta

BUT, I lost a pound to take me down to 10st. I dunno if the badness has caught up with though.

It's very vexing, the ease to which I can descend into biffing.

Anyway, sitting here thinking about this weeks plan and how I approach my eating.

Packing a small slice of frittata with a huge green salad for work tomorrow. Time to set about undoing the damage!
