That is a goooooorgeous dress!!
How exciting! What size are you ordering it in? ;) Smile

Slobbadan · 29/12/2010 21:24

Thank you! Well its in the new 2011 range so i dont have to rush out to buy it, but im going to try it on in feb when i go to visit my mum, and i would love to get it in a 12 (in dream land) but will be aiming to be a 14 (realisic) since im a 16/18 at the moment.

Going to through myself into this and not biff as i will NOT be a FAT bride.

Shaxx · 29/12/2010 21:39

Are you doing the shred too?
That will really tone you up so you look extra-sexy in that dress!

dinkystinky · 29/12/2010 21:46

That's a really lovely dress Slobbadan. I have to admit that when I got engaged - along time ago - I was nearly 11 stone (had injured knees so couldnt exercise and ballooned from 9 stone and a bit to 11 stone as a result of that and eating and drinking lots instead) but by the time I got married I'd got back down to 9.5 stone. And the wedding was a great motivator. I found exercising really helped - made sure I fitted in a hour (mix of cardio and weights) 5 times a week and stopped drinking during the weekand really helped. Can recommend the Davina Dvds if the shred gets too boring - esp the 30 min work outs.

Slobbadan · 29/12/2010 21:47

Oh yes gonna shred and when the weather improves im going to do couch to 5k, i think i will take leaf out of your book and dry brush and moisturise every day to smooth out the lumps and bumps.

Vvvv exited and love all the planning malarkey, already order my flower girls dresses and will with any luck be booking the church and venue in the next week.

Apologies in advance if i bore you all to tears!

thedogwalker · 31/12/2010 08:28

Slobbadan please tell me more about the couch to 5km thing and you can tell all about your wedding plans, I'd love to see everything, so share away Grin

Well I got on the scales this morning and I've gained 1 lb, which was not as bad as I'd thought as I've eaten my weight in chocolate and cheese this past week. So I'm back to 10st 8lbs. Think its been better as I haven't drank much alcohol with breastfeeding, by the time DS is in bed, I've had one drink and then gone to bed myself.

I plan on eating whatever I fancy today and then attck the diet with new vigour tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone for the weigh in and HAPPY NEW YEAR, I wish us all lots of happiness and slimness in 2011 Grin

Shaxx · 31/12/2010 09:25

Slobbadan I'd love to hear all about your wedding too! I think weddings are always so exciting.
I remember I lost so much weight when I got married that my size 10 dress was far too loose. It was the stress of organising the wedding and only having 6 months to do a big bash.

Well done Thedogwalker for only gaining a lb.

So I stood on the scales this morning and was shocked to see my weight at 156lbs!
My first goal is to lose 10lbs. I'm hoping to do that by the end of January. I'll have to be really disciplined but I am motivated.
I really don't want horrible holiday pics and as I'm only 5'2", 10lbs will make a huuuge difference. I'm hoping to lose a stone by the holiday which is 7 weeks away.

Happy New Year to everyone!

justaminute · 31/12/2010 11:35

I love a good wedding Slobbadan. Loving the dress too it looks very glam and swish. I remember trawling the shops trying on dresses and just knew as soon as I put on my dress that it was "the one". I also remember being chastised by the dressmaker at the final fit, I hadn't lost weight but had lost inches - completely unintentional, just the stress of flitting around everywhere.

I'm not brave enough for the scales today. I'm cooking up a feast for the family on Sunday so I'll continue to biff and revert back to good ways on Monday.

Happy New Year all

dinkystinky · 31/12/2010 12:22

Happy new year all

Weighed myself yesterday and appear to have put on 7lbs over xmas Shock - so have been hitting the gym hard the past couple of days and paring back ready for a january weightloss blitz. Go on Justaminute - get on the scales, the shock will stop any mindless biffing - but wont get in the way of mindful and enjoyed biffing.

Shaxx - if you're disciplined and motivated you will lose that 10lbs by your holiday. Are you exercising? Have a look on line at the couch to 5k - and IIRC there's always a thread started in the sports section on MN about people starting to run using it in the new year so get in on that and enjoy the journey.

Slobbadan · 31/12/2010 14:00

Happy New Year everyone!

i have been weighed nd hve put on 3.5lb in a week! The shameless biffge has well and truley caught up with me!

Tomorrow i will be starting the I dont wanna be a fat bride diet.

Im sooooo exited at all the planning, i have a choice of 2 venues my work or the place up the road from it, i can afford the other place no prob but my work is quite expensive so im waiting for my boss to email me his best offer. Im going to look around the other venue on tuesday and im meeting with the priest on tue too.

My 2 sisters are brides maids and my dd and dn are flower girls (already bought there dresses) and i have a cream and gold theme going on at the mo with butterflies too!

Think thats all i have organised at the mo but will keep you informed, dont worry.

Thedogwalker - couch to 5k is a pod cast you can download and its n 8 week programme to get you running 5k nd starts off by for eg walking for 2mins then run for 30 sec and you do tht 3 times week and it increases gradually. Basicly i cannot run for toffee and its for complete beginers hence the name. Go for it.

Also will we need to start new thread as this is nearly full!

Shaxx · 01/01/2011 10:42

Dinky I've attempted couch to 5k and hurt my knee in week 4. I got back into running about 8 weeks later when my knee was better and I was surprised to find out that I can run for 15mins without stopping. Obviously I'd love to improve on this but do worry about hurting my knee again. I may need to lose more weight so I don't strain it too much!
I'm doing the shred dvd which I'm starting tomorrow (and hoping to finish by end of Jan)

I'm back on my diet today but can't exercise as I don't feel too great (recovering from cold and a very late night!)

Is everyone starting tomorrow?

Slobbadan · 01/01/2011 11:27

Morning all!

Shaxx im starting today!

So start weight 1-01-11 is 14st 7.5

thus far i have had 2 satsumas, shape yogurt and a grilled bacon sarnie.

lunch will be roast beef, veggies and a little bit of mashed potato (no roasties and no yourkies for me)

im going to get just dance for the wii as i played it at sil last night and it was fab and good exercise!

Not going to shred today as im shattered, going to clean up and have a lazy day with the kids as they are not feeling well.

iluvchristmascake · 01/01/2011 16:46

Hello all! HAPPY NEW YEARSmile.

Sorry missed weigh in, have had friends here for New Year since yesterday, just haven't had a minute.

Slobbadan, love that dress! Your theme sounds lovely! Wish I could do my wedding day again . We're going to be keeping you on the straight and narrow and be cracking the whip!!

It's a brand new shiney year-THIS is year that we are going to be slim! Let's go through our cupboards and chuck all the crappy food left over from Christmas and start afresh. I have loads of chocolate and intend to get rid of it by tomorrrow- whether it's giving it away or chucking it in the bin. Yes, it's a bit of a waste but would I rather it went on my hips?? No, I wouldn't. It's a moments pleasure but does nothing for you. Mini pep talk over....Wink

I weighed in yesterday and had lost half a pound which made me 9st8.5 but had a tummy bug on thu and hardly ate anything which is probably why. I made up for it last night though with a massive amount of wine, champers, food and chocolate. So, I'm officially stating my weight as 9st9 going forward into the New Year. I'm back in the zone people!

dinkystinky · 01/01/2011 17:44

Happy new year all - hope you've had a lovely first day of 2011.

Shaxx · 02/01/2011 09:47

Sorry you were ill Iluv but well done on the weight loss. (You must be slim already at 9st9lb!) Thanks for the mini pepe talk. You're right. Its a waste to eat rubbish food anyway so it may as well end up in the bin.

Well yesterday we ended up having ils over for dinner so had roast beef and all the trimmings. Then we finished off the cheeses.

I have started properly today.

I've shredded, had 2 glasses of water and had a banana and apple for breakfast.
Shred was sooo difficult but I'm glad I did it. I think its the kick start I need.
I'm going to force myself into the zone!

Slobbadan · 02/01/2011 13:27

Hi everyone, hope you are all firmly in the Zone!

Im tucking into some lovely homemade soup, and i had a go of mine dd Just dance for the Wii, i love it!

Think im going to do a combo of shred, yoga and wii dance for exercise then i will start the running when the weather improves, also im off the WW on tue night as im hoping it will keep me on track.

Do you all have goals for this year? Shaxx you have your holiday and im sure someone said they had a friends wedding? I hope having the wedding lurking over my head will spur me on!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 02/01/2011 14:10

This is just slobbadan checking in with my 2011 namechange (its inspirational)

Shaxx · 02/01/2011 14:34

Argh! You've just reminded that I have a wedding to go to at the end of the month. Its one of dh's family friends so although I've only met them a couple of times, dh has known them most of his life.
Totally forgot! duh!
Need to be slimmer by then.

Shaxx · 02/01/2011 14:35

Great name btw Smile

thedogwalker · 02/01/2011 15:34

Hi all, I've got back into the zone today, was still biffing yesterday on chocolate and cheese, naughty but hey starting now with new vigour.

I don't really have anything planned for this year, so no set date like a wedding or anything to use as a goal, but I want to be slimmer by the summer so I can wear nice summer dresses. I gave birth last August so all of last summer I was larger than normal so would like to look slimmer this time.

I am currently 10st 8lbs and I am setting myself a hard goal of wanting to be 9st 7lbs. I haven't been in the 9 st for quite a few years but think what the hell may as well go for it Grin

Great name btw, so looking forward to seeing all your stuff, you have all our good luck vibes and best wishes to lose any weight you wish to, before the big day, we will keep you on the straight and narrow Wink and you will look fabulous on your big day.

Take care veryone xx

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 03/01/2011 08:29

Well my lovely niece just posted some pics of me at new year jigging about to Wii dance and i look farking horrendous! Need i say more?

Still in the Zone and looking forward to starting WW tomorrow (got a free membership and free first class voucher from the paper) need something to focus on rather than just winging it.

Going to take all the christmas decs down today and tidy up, DD not well (on day 3 now) so not going out and im in work at 3pm. Will do a proper clean tomorrow.

Shaxx · 03/01/2011 11:45

Oh dear. Dodgy pics are the worst but very kick-up-the-arse.

Have shredded today. Woohoo. It was a struggle though as I was aching so much from yesterday. I'm really going to try to do it in 30 days which means getting up at 5.40 on the days I work!

I need to do a big tidy up today to get ready for the week. Back to normality Sad
I've really enjoyed the last couple of weeks just chilling and going out with dh and the kids.

iluvcake · 03/01/2011 20:06

Loving the name thinbride and good luck starting WW tomorrow!

Shax, well done on the shredding. Getting up at 5.40am-that is dedication to the cause. Am so impressed.

I am here to hang my head in shame and receive a slap on the wrist. Did I throw out the chocolate-did I hell. I've biffed and biffed. I'm so Angry with myself. Am damn sure I've put on weight now. I'm good at talking the talk and not much else at the moment. My jeans feel tight and I feel sluggish.

Tomorrow DH goes back to work. DS not back at school until Wed. Am starting from tomorrow. Will have to get shredding too as bootcamp class starts on Friday and the shredding builds up my stamina for that.

Shaxx · 03/01/2011 20:26

iluv I feel sluggish and bloated too. I'm dreading wearing work clothes tomorrow as I know they're going to be tight!

You know we're gonna have to get strict.

I was reading somewhere that you have to treat weight loss like a project. You have to make time for it, get organised and work at it. Use some tools like Food Focus to help you stay on track.
Set yourself a goal thats acheivable in the next few weeks.
Do you want to look like this at the end of the month or at least 7lbs lighter?

Try to eat a protein based breakfast tomorrow, drink lots of water, make yourself eat fruit before any other snack and you should be back in the zone in no time Smile

Good luck to all of us. Its hard but remember..

NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING SLIM FEELS! Smile
(especially not blocks of fat and sugar Smile)

justaminute · 03/01/2011 20:53

Right, I've done the deed. I've weighed myself. 11-9 is the damage, pretty much where I began back in October. Don't really feel like I've been focussing on this weight loss malarky.

I want to be 1 stone lighter by Easter. Wearing jeans today which create a nice muffin gateau top

Have dusted off the shred tonight - now cannot move - it doesn't get any easier does it?

Project weightloss has begun.

Also...hefty slap for iluv - you did ask for it Wink
