Been good today i have walked loads (brisk with pushchair and uphill!) and have thus far eated;

Breakfast - 2 slices of wholemeal toast and 2 boiled eggs

Lunch - muller corner bio granola thing, some cous-cous and ritz crackers

Dinner - sausage and a small portion of mash and veg

Snack - 3 celebrations (bad) but at least i showed some restraint!

dinkystinky · 09/12/2010 09:50

Well done Slobbadan - bet you felt proud of yourself last night.

Shaxx · 09/12/2010 10:35

That sounds good Slobbadan.

I was good yesterday too. I had one small treat and thats what I'm going to do every day. As long as its only around 100cals it'll be ok.

I cooked a slimming world mushroom rissotto for dinner and its was delicious! I think I'll use more of their recipes (you can find them from loads of different sites)
I like trying new recipes so may as well go for healthy ones!

My plan for today
weetabix, yogurt, banana
baked potato, salad, cotttage cheese
left over rissotto, Tescos healthy living lemon drizzle cake slice (75cals!)
snack on fruit

Slobbadan · 09/12/2010 11:59

Thank you dinky and shaxx, i do feel better in myself when i do well.

Shaxx that rissotto sounds lovely!

Today i have had/having

breakfast - yogurt and a satsuma

lunch - whole meal toast, 2 rashers of grillee bacon and a pile of roasted cherry toms

Dinner - Mince and potaoes and veg (very wintery!)

iluvchristmascake · 09/12/2010 13:52

Really good to hear you feeling a bit brighter SlobbadanSmile.

I had to make some blueberry muffins for school last night and ate one (but only one!).

Today so far- Breakfast of porridge/sliced banana/almond slivers

Then school nativity with coffee and cakes beforehand but managed to just have cup of coffee.

Snack of 5 dried apricots/5 almonds

Lunch - Slice rye bread/Salmon/Cherry tomatoes/Olives/Sliced peppers

Dinner will be chicken breast and roasted veg

Slobbadan · 09/12/2010 14:57

may i ask where you all purchase rye bread? i has searched morrisons to no avail! unless im blind xx

iluvchristmascake · 09/12/2010 20:10

Hi Slobbadan, I usually get mine from tesco or waitrose. It's usually in the bread aisle with all the speciality breads.

Slobbadan · 10/12/2010 07:10

Went to morrisons last night and looked again but no avail, will try sainsburys (dont have a tesco or waitrose).

Well another weigh in day is upon us and i STS and, but im just sooooooo glad it was not a gain. Im looking forwar to going to WW on tuesaday and hopefully regaining control of my weight, and i want it to be gradual so it stays off.

hope you all do well this week.

Also i have a "goal" as an incentive, im off to visit family with the kids for a week in Feb and i will be meeting up with old school friends and my family and i usually spend the time feeling bad about my weight compared to them. But hope this time i will have lost some weight and be a size smaller and not feel as bad!

thedogwalker · 10/12/2010 08:03

Good morning.

Well done slobbadan, sts is good, glad you're a bit happier and great goal, we'll all be here to encourage you Xmas Smile

I've lost a pound, seems thats me every week now, but I'm not complaining, nice and slow just as dinky tells us Grin and I did eat a Macdonalds yesterday Blush, so I'm happy. That's now 16lb of the baby weight gone Xmas Grin, I need to lose another 4lb to get to pre baby weight, but then I would like to keep going and lose another 7lb, to look great on my next holiday and before I start trying for a 2nd baby Wink

Good luck to everyone for weigh in. Keep smiling.

dinkystinky · 10/12/2010 08:41

Well done on your sts Slobbadan and your lb loss Dogwalker - great stuff!

Lost 1lb here too - remember, slow and steady wins the day.

Slobbadan - do you have any healthfood shops locally? Our local ones stock all kinds of breads...

iluvchristmascake · 10/12/2010 16:38

Hi everyoneSmile!

Well, I was 9.9.8 last week and am 9.10 this week so a small gain. Bit disappointed, was not expecting that as apart from last weekend, I was good and have done either a bootcamp session, pilates class and/or shred every week day. I know I'm toning up and feel smaller so I'm not as gutted as I would be normally. I went shopping today and got into clothes that would normally make me look like Ann Widdecombe. I actually felt good. Normally I come away from the shops in a bad mood.

Am wondering if all the exercise I'm doing is having a effect on the scales. Is there a possibility that I am putting on muscle and becoming smaller but it's making me heavier on the scales? Or would I have the muscles of a body builder for that to be true?Hmm

Slobbadan, do you have a Holland & Barratt near you? They usually stock rye bread. That's great you haven't gained this week. I'm sure you will be posting a loss next week!

Well done dinky and thedogwalker on your pound off this week.

dinkystinky · 10/12/2010 18:52

It really is possible you're putting on muscle tone Iluv - I'm a 10/12 but a heavy weight for my bodyshape and size due to muscle mass. Or it could just be water retention. Either way, I 'd stay you were a sts really rather than a gain. And its good that you're feeling good in yourself and your shape is changing - all great stuff!

Slobbadan · 10/12/2010 19:33

Just want to thank everyone for the words of encouragment! It is greatly appreciated.

Well done on the 1lb losses!

Dont have a holland and barret near as i live in a stupid market town with no proper shops! (full of charity shops and estate agents!)

iluvchristmascake · 11/12/2010 16:50

Slobbadan, hmm, yes the only other place I can think of would be a health food shop. Am surprised Morrisons don't stock it.

Had a naughty bowl of honey cheerios this morningBlush. We then went to Pizza Express for lunch but I had water and a salad with chicken, avocado, green beans and egg with the dressing on the side. No pudding, just coffee.

Out tonight so a few drinks and probably pudding but back on track tomorrow.

Hope everyone is managing to stay in the zone and you're having a good weekend.

Slobbadan · 13/12/2010 10:08

Good Morning Zoners and Biffers (bit of a biffer here)!

I here-by anounce the Monday morning pep talk is in session! (bangs loudly on the gavel so biffers can hear over the munching)

It have come to my realisation that the summer is not to far away and the time to expose some flesh, exfoliate, shave legs and moisturise everyday and have a summer glow will soon be required!

Now i myself have spent the past 10yrs (gulp) at new year saying i will be thin and fit in the summer and have yet to achieve my goal. Well enough is enough! This year WILL be my thin year, so i ask you all to join me in a quest to be slinky and fit and be able to run around after our children, and wear the lovely summer fashions with pride!

We all no the ins and outs of healthy eating so there is no use me bleating about it even more, we need to concentrate on MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICES and WATCHING THE PORTIONS SIZES and MAKING SURE WE TREAT OURSELVES NOW AND AGAIN or else we wpould be mad bored. We also need to EXERCISE MORE! try to fit in what ever you can in the day.

Now carry on getting in the zone and remember ;

NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING SLIM FEELS!!!

(first pep talk, hope it was ok?)

dinkystinky · 13/12/2010 10:55

Good pep talk Slobbadan. I too biffed over the weekend - but did get a PT session in at the park and will now be virtuous all week. Our christmas tree is up and all is feeling v christmassy in our house so cant possibly focus on summer yet - but can focus on how I want to toast in the new year (much sooner). I want to feel happy in my skin and with my choices so I'm making a promise to myself to exercise moderation over the biff-fest that is Christmas, and I will be happy welcoming in the new year - and then maybe I can focus on summer approaching...

Shaxx · 13/12/2010 20:10

Great pep talk Slobbadan. I am definitely joining you for summer slenderness!

I am back in the zone from today.
I've had a good day but haven't done any exercise as its a working day and I can never fit it in!

I had brown rice this evening and I know its all healthy and everything but it tastes crap. I don't think I like it. Its a shame I've got a whole load for tomorrow.

I hope you're all sticking healthy eating and exercise......

justaminute · 14/12/2010 10:28

Sorry for being AWOL ladies. Mad week last week. Far too much biscuit munching occurred. Consequently 1 pound on for me Sad However, the whole family were struck down with a sickness bug this weekend so I?m hoping to have lost it having not eaten for 24 hours Smile.

Slobbadan you are so right that Summer will be here before we know it. My high hopes in October of being slim by Christmas are dashed. Maybe Easter? Like you, every year I vow to be a size smaller ? it never happens I need to get my head into gear.

Shaxx brown rice has grown on me, much prefer the white stuff but I find it OK if I have a very saucy curry to go with it.

I?ve not shredded for a week either, hoping to muster the energy tonight ? wish me luck.

Shaxx · 14/12/2010 16:36

Good day today so far.
I 'm trying to stick to slimming world but I need to sort out all my food for a few days as I'll end up going off track.

today
1/2 english muffin with marmite, no butter. Apple
left over brown rice (which wasn't too bad today!) and chickpea curry
snackajack bag, banana
salmon, homemade mushy pea thing

iluvchristmascake · 14/12/2010 19:47

Hi all. Thanks for the pep talk Slobbadan. The mention of summer gave me a fright-I cannot do another summer without being able to wear a nice strappy topWink.

Have done no exercise since Friday. Was going to try tonight but no energy and I know why. A good friend invited me to London today. She was keen to go to a cafe in Harrods that does the most rich hot chocolate and beautiful macaroons. Rude not to really but as soon as I had the above, I felt incredibly sleepy and it's knocked me for six. Came in and polished off the rest of a giant tube of smarties, went to Sainsburys and bought myself an aero bar and a diet coke. Not a good day sugar wise and I feel crap for it now-sleepy and lethargic. This is what it does to you!

Coffee morning tomorrow. Hoping not to be too naughty. Still aiming for a loss on Friday but not sure how at the momentHmm.

Shaxx · 14/12/2010 21:58

Strappy top?
I remember when I used to be a size 10 and I still wouldn't wear a strappy top as I thought my arms were too fat Hmm
WHEN I get back to a size 10, I am so going to wear strappy tops!

Shaxx · 14/12/2010 22:00

You definitely had too much sugar today iluv!
But sometimes you have too....
don't feel too bad.
And that hot choc and macaroons sounds amazing. You'd have to be not human to resist those!

iluvchristmascake · 15/12/2010 11:26

Arrrggghhhh! Have had a cupcake, small banana muffin and a mince pie this morningXmas Shock. Feel like I am slipping and all my hard work is going down the pan.

Eating all that sugar yesterday has tripped a switch in my brain.

How is everyone else doing with all the christmas biffing food around at the moment?

Shaxx · 15/12/2010 11:59

I'm holding up so far. We have a box of mince pies at home but only dh has been eating them. We also have a tin of roses but its not been opened yet.
I know as soon as its opened, I won't be able to stop!

I've got a work Xmas lunch tomorrow and I'm afraid that that'll be my 'switch'.
I'm like you iluv, once I start, I can't seem to stop!

Just remember how awful you felt when you used to eat all that sugar. Before you reach for that lardy, sugary lump of whatever, make yourself have some fruit and water first. You can have it if you still fancy it after. I bet you most times you won't want it.

The other thing thats helping me is the weight watchers cakes that I look forward to at the end of the day.

Good luck!

justaminute · 15/12/2010 12:08

Iluv ? I feel your pain I?m not coping well either. Cupcakes are doing the rounds at work today, I had one and now I want another. That damn sugar it?s a drug!

Last week was a mad week, I didn?t have time in the mornings to make something healthy to take to work, ate at irregular times and hit the biscuit tin when I did eat. Consequently I felt tired, couldn?t get up and so didn?t have time in the morning to make something healthy, it is just such an evil cycle.

Make yourself a big salad for lunch and drink lots of water so you feel healthy again. Write off the sugar overload for today (and yesterday Wink). Don?t be drawn into the sugartrap again. Now I need to heed my own advice.
