Iluv you sound deeper into the zone than me -well done you!
The curry was quite simple, sweat off some onion, brown some chicken, add curry paste, spoon out the chicken (keep warm), add red lentils, tin of tomatoes and cold water, simmer for 20 mins, chuck the chicken back in for 10-15minutes add extra water if need be. I served it up with some brown rice and coriander on top.
I drink several cups of coffee a day. I drink decaf, black no sugar.

encyclogirl · 10/11/2010 14:05

Justaminute I've made that curry it's yum! Red Lentils are my new 'go to' ingredient. I'm a big fan :)

Iluvcake. I drink two cups a day, plus all my pu-erh tea and my my herbal teas. It hasn't affected me I don't think...

iluvcake · 10/11/2010 21:42

justaminute, thanks for that recipe-will def try that!

Managed to keep on track this afternoon. Lunch was slice of rye bread/quarter avocado/salmon flakes/sliced red pepper. Snack of few dried apricots & almonds. Dinner of roasted veg & pork medallions.

Only 2 cups of coffee today but no sugar dinky!

encyclogirl · 10/11/2010 23:11

Dh made fabby mince turkey burittos for dinner. Stuffed full of veggies too. What an absolute star!

iluvcake · 11/11/2010 18:27

Justaminute help!

Just making your curry dish and just realised I have no red lentils left! Would green be ok do you think?

iluvcake · 11/11/2010 21:18

Just made the curry without the lentils in the end-must put them on my shopping listSmile.

Today:- Breakfast-porridge with banana & flaked almonds. Lunch-same as yesterday-rye bread with salmon etc./Dinner-Chicken curry (but no rice). Snacks-dried apricots & almonds.

Had a blip at morning coffee time. Rummaging in DH's bedtime drawer I came across a packet of peanut M&Ms. The urge was too strong I'm afraidBlush. However, I made sure I savoured them (Paul MckennaWink). I also had a slight biff with my lunch. I had a packet of Sunbites and went onto a second.

I'm now sitting here with my new favourite fruit tea ("Clipper" wild berry)-it's berrylicious-yum!

I made the fatal mistake of buying a 9 pack of single finger Time Outs earlier (for DS's lunchbox-yeah right!) and my brain is screaming out for one. I feel quite hungry and a bit shaky-am thinking it's because I had no rice with dinner.

Did a pilates class this morning and shred DVD before dinner. Back for weigh in tomorrow.

Hope everyone is doing well!

dinkystinky · 12/11/2010 10:01

Morning ladies - weighing in at 1lb on this morning. Will make concerted effort to shift it and mroe ofver the course of the next week...

dinkystinky · 12/11/2010 10:10

Iluvcake - hope you managed to resist the Time Outs. DS1's school doesnt allow chocolate in lunchboxes which helps to remove temptation in the dinky household. The fruit tea sounds lovely and it sounds like you've been hitting the exercise hard - could be why you were feeling so shaky. Make sure you drink lots and have a nice relaxing bath.

justaminute · 12/11/2010 12:46

Dinky - 1 pound on is nothing after a party weekend I'm sure you'll have that back off in no time

iluv - sorry I wasn't around with my culinary expertise Wink I think you were wise to not use green lentils - don't you have to soak those first? Whereas red lentils cook relatively quickly. Hope you enjoyed the curry though. As to finding M&M's in your husbands bedtime drawer - my mind boggles Grin

iluvcake · 12/11/2010 13:03

Hello everyone.

Dinky-I know you will shift that pound and more. You can do it!!

Sorry to say, I didn't resist the temptation of the time out bar last night BUT I only had one instead of the normal three!Grin. DS's school allows them to have a chocolate biscuit but not a chocolate barHmm.

I think when I bought them I was pretending to myself that I was buying them for DS but secretly thinking "what could I buy that is not too many calories and fat but give me that hit of chocolate?" Some habits are hard to break...

Porridge for breakfast this morning but have had ANOTHER time out bar with coffee. Gotta get rid of the damn things!! Just had some grapes and a satsuma as starving but will have usual lunch of rye bread/salmon etc. Not planned dinner yet and out tonight at two different things so there could be the tempation of nibbles. Busy weekend and having lunch on Sunday with Aunt & Uncle so there will be pudding(eek)...

WI today though am 9.12.02st so loss of 2.03lb. Am a little bit disappointed as I have exercised every day this week, was hoping for at least 3lb off.

Justaminute, am glad I left out the green lentils then! Don't really know why I bought them-they'll probably sit in the cupboard till they go out of date!

iluvcake · 12/11/2010 13:12

Just read that I posted "bedtime drawer"-that should be bedside drawer, lol. Obviously he doesn't keep a stash of chocolate for bedtimeGrin.

Doubt he will even notice they've gone, he's not a big chocolate eater. Maybe I should have checked the sell-by date on those M&Ms, they'd probably been there for yearsShock.

dinkystinky · 12/11/2010 13:16

Iluv - a loss of 2lbs is a pretty respectable loss! Andif you keep up the exercise am sure you'll be hitting that kind of respectable loss on a regular basis. Green lentils are quite nice in lentil and sausage casserole and Nigella's ragu (neither of those particularly zone like meals but v satisfying wintry meals).

iluvcake · 13/11/2010 08:44

Anyone else weighed yesterday??

iluvcake · 13/11/2010 08:48

And thanks dinky!

Managed not to nibble anything last night and just had an omelette before going out. But had a time out bar on return.

The good news is they are gone nowSmile.

Undertone · 14/11/2010 13:45

HELLO EVERYONE!

I know I have no right to prance back into the thread when I haven't been here for months. This thread really helped in the early stages when eating a restricted diet was still a battle of wills and not just habit, IYSWIM.

I started in March at 15 stone 6 and a size 20. I am now 12 stone 8 and JUST today I have bought and am now wearing a pair of size 14 skinny jeans from Dotty P (you should see my muffin-top belly, though).

I've got to the stage where every pound is a battle, but I'm going for uber-fitness and being toned and just hoping that my lard will catch up. Went on a 5 mile run this morning and only had to stop after the most punishing hills. Joined gym next to office and am going 4-5 times a week on top of weekend runs.

Just wanted to say hi and well done to all you guys, and to do a twirl in my ridiculously tight new skinnies! Off to wear knee-high boots over the jeans (with a long top, obv) and walk the mile to Sainsbos to stock up on salad.

KEEP GOING - IT'S AMAZING

Guitargirl · 14/11/2010 16:52

Hi everyone, have not been on much this week. DP is away visiting his ill Mum so am on my own with the DCs. I weighed in on Friday and am the same weight as last week. SO far out of the zone, need to try harder!

encyclogirl · 14/11/2010 20:02

Hi Untertone! Congrats on your fantastic weightloss and your new good habits.

I've been zoning exactly 2 months now and have gone from 10 6 to 9 5.5. It feels amazing, and you are right the good habit just need to become ingrained that's all.

Eg today I made a really yummy chicken casserole, with roasted veggies and couscous . I wasn't that bothered about the amount of olive oil I used because, a) I had a much smaller portion, b) the whole family went out for a hike in the afternoon and c) I only ate some fruit in the evening.

The old me would have scoffed a huge lunch, foraged for a pudding, slumped on the couch and channel surfed, then had a toastie and crips for dinner followed by a load of chocolate.

Keep posting Undertone. Great to see you :)

GG, I'm not surprised your feeling out of the zone and unbalanced at the moment. Keep posting with us though, we'll keep you honest.

Slobbadan · 14/11/2010 21:35

Hello all, its Mamamiafigaro here with a name change ( i feel my new name reflect my mood). I have not abandonded you all on purpose i had some laptop issues (the issues being it packed in) But alas im back online and weigh in at 14stone 3.5lbs so i need to look back and see what i was before.

I will read through and catch up tomos.

Well done to the losers and i hope im aloud to slink back in!

justaminute · 15/11/2010 09:42

Grr, am so annoyed with myself. 1.5 lb on here. There were too many leftover party cakes lying around the house last week and I was tired - not a good combo. I?m tired?. I eat a cake? I?m more tired Sad I should know by now that the two go hand in hand.

So, it?s a new week, inspired by undertone I?m going to crack the whip until Christmas.
I?m going to dust off the Shred, get back to running, early to bed on a school night , clear the clutter in my house and allow myself a small treat if I exercise each day. I have two games of netball scheduled for this week so that should help clear some cobwebs.

Iluv ? be proud of that 2lb loss woman! I am green with envy.

iluvcake · 15/11/2010 09:53

Good morning everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend.

Hello to Slobbadan and Undertone-in her new skinny jeans-woohoo! Size 20 down to 14-that is impressive. Whoever says being slim doesn't make you happy is deluded! I feel happier & much slinkier already with the few pounds I've lost!

Guitargirl, you're all going through a difficult time and sometimes it's hard to keep on track but you have haven't put on any weight this week so that is good!

Well done encyclo-you've had a really good weekend!

I relaxed a little bit over the weekend but 'm not sure it does me any favours as I've got cravings this morning. We went out for coffee on sat and DS and DH both had yummy cakes but I managed to resist. Lunch with aunt & uncle yesterday had apple crumble & custard (v small portion) and two chocolates.

Just been to the shops and managed to resist putting any bad stuff in basket-although I've just had a slice of toast with butter and jamBlush. Back on track from this minute on...

Have got my gym gear on ready to do a shred workout bit later.

iluvcake · 15/11/2010 10:03

X posts justaminute!

Sorry to hear you've put on-it's gutting-I know the feeling so well. You've got the right attitude though. Tell yourself you'll get rid of that 1.5 lbs and more.

Get that Shred dvd out!! I feel so much slimmer already with the bit of weight I've lost but unlike before I am feeling more toned and energetic. I'm on a thread with titferbrains "What do I eat on the 30 day shred?". We are doing it together taking it a day at a time. Come and join us!

Drink lots of water and get those carrots sticks out!Grin.

Keep posting. I know I'm on here a lotBlush but it really is keeping me on track like nothing else has before!

Slobbadan · 15/11/2010 10:03

Morning peeps, all this Shred talk is inspiring me to dust off my dvd and get to it, although not today as i have been up since 2.40am with dc2 as he was sick and i have to work till 11pm tonight and dont think i will survive if i sap out all my energy! May do a bit of yoga.

Undertone you have done soooooo well and i wish i was in size 14 skinny jeans!

I need to be really firm with myself, as as soon as i pop on the scales and think i have not done too bad i end up pigging out! Grrrrr

Well my chrismas count down has started, and i need to have lost at least half a stone.

Today thus far i have had 2 satsumas, 2 slices of wholemeal toast and eatsmart pate and 1/4 of an activia snack pot (my lovely dc2 has just robbed me of the rest).

Slobbadan · 15/11/2010 10:04

Also think i will make a tuna and red onion salad to take to work tonight. x

iluvcake · 15/11/2010 10:08

Slobbadan-good start! You can easily lose half a stone-just under six weeks till christmas. That's a pound a week.

I'm sure you'll lose a bit more if you start shredding as well!

encyclogirl · 15/11/2010 10:18

Justaminute, you sound like you have a good plan in place. Last week is done and dusted. New week, with a plan. You'll be back into it in no time :)

Welcome back MamaF!

Iluvcake, good on ya to have your gym gear on already. That's the stuff :)

I've got roasted veggies with a scoop of couscous and two boiled eggs for lunch. Loads of fruit today too.

Is anyone reading about the Propoints plan on WW? Apparently fruit is free.
