And a very good morning to you all!

I'm here!

Still on plan. Weighing in tomorrow, hoping to be down at least half a pound. This is the really hard part for me now.

I can always ditch the first 5lbs easily, but after that it gets tricky. I was just under 10stone last week. I would love to at least consolidate that.

I have not cheated at all, and have been diligent with my yoga.

Now actual cardio tho' which might count against me (blush]

encyclogirl · 30/09/2010 10:30

Sorry, that should read: No actual cardio!

BudaisintheZONE · 30/09/2010 12:52

Glad someone is still here!!!

Did 20 mins on my cross trainer! I have had it 5 years. Have used it 3 times! Blush Bought a tv series on DVD 2 years ago to watch while on it and never did it. Set it up and did 20 mins this morning! Yay. Could have done longer but was running out of time as had hair appointment at 11. Will walk dog this afternoon for an hour as well. And then baby dog for 15 mins but given I spend most of the walk untangling us both from the lead I don't think it counts!

I take it you haven't done your walks this week encyclogirl? Interested to see if your knee holds up.

I went clothes shopping yesterday. Now that it is definitely getting colder I realised I threw out all my tops last year so had hardly anything left. Went to C&A and bought 2 tops and a sweater dress. Then DH brought home a package of things I ordered a few weeks ago from Wrap. Including a size 18 skirt which I was a bit worried about. It fits! A bit tight but with sucky-in knickers it will be ok and with a few more pounds off it will def be ok.

Am here Buda - just in the middle of house moving chaos and about to lose the internet for a few days. Definitely agree upping cardio will help - you should be hot and out of breath for at least 20 mins (preferably 30 mins or more) at least 3 times a week and you will see results. And well done on the size 18 skirt - that's great stuff! Grin

Will next be on again on Monday (from work) so happy zoning till then campers.

BudaisintheZONE · 30/09/2010 14:31

Good luck with the move dinky. It will all be worth it in the end. How long will you be out of your house for? Or should I say how long to you HOPE to be out for?

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 30/09/2010 16:31

Erm, current estimate is 6 months - suspect it might be nearer 8...

mamamiafigaro · 01/10/2010 07:07

Dinky - Good luck on the move.
Buda - well done on the size 18 skirt
encyclo - all this yoga malarkie is making me feel lazy as i need to up my exercise, will maek more of an effort next week!
Guitar - hope your having a loveyl holiday!

Well its weigh day today ladies and.............................. i lost 2lbs!! woo hoo. Im really please.

So now im 14st 31/2 lb.

Good luck on the weigh in everyone.

BudaisintheZONE · 01/10/2010 08:10

Well done mamamia!!!!

I lost a pound. Am happy as it wasn't looking good yesterday but def loss today. Am now 15st 1!!!

Going to try extra hard this week as want to be 14 st 13 next week.

Have registered for emails from Jillian michaels and saw yesterday on her questions page that more cardio is the way to go. That's how they get such big losses on The Biggest Loser. So am inspired. Also have a number for a good pilates instructor who does one on one sessions so am going to book my self 2 a week.

Good luck everyone else!

encyclogirl · 01/10/2010 09:46

Well done on the weight loss girls!

I lost the guts of a pound. Now weigh 139.2. Delighted with that.

Buda, I chickened out of the walking, the weather has been lousy and the fire has been warm. Bad combination for me I find. Need to man up and do it though. Next week, next week...

Speaking of Jillian Michaels, has anyone tried Shred? I did it and it's really demanding. Might start with that first as it's indoors. If I could knock that out first thing in the am I'd be laughing.

I have to get stuck into some cardio to shift this last 10. These are the hard yards yanno?

Dinky good luck on the house move. Think of the activity points!

encyclogirl · 01/10/2010 09:47

Mama, just rereading...you lost 2lbs? Nice one!!!

BudaisintheZONE · 02/10/2010 10:25

My engagement ring is an 'upgrade' and is bigger than my wedding ring. Have just had to switch them round so that engagement ring is on inside as it has gotten too loose! Also need to take a link out of my watch! Grin

Morning all!

Monday again.

DS has a sore tummy Hmm so have kept him off school.

Had a fab weekend. Went to see Paul Young, Boy George, Kim Wilde, Nick Kershaw and Rick Astley in concert. Great night. Got invited back to their hotel and met Paul Young and were introduced to Boy George who was holding court at a table in the corner. Rick Astley hasn't changed much - he was great. Got photo taken with Paul Young. Sigh. Kim Wilde wasn;t in bar unfortunately. Much champagne and wine consumed and got home at 3.15am!

Food wise I have been ok. Weekend treats but not too much - had some digestive biscuits and white bread on Saturday. Felt stomach bloating as soon as I ate them. Yesterday had one Jaffa Cake in afternoon and then had some potatoes with dinner and an ice cream afterwards.

Back at it this week. Feeling shattered though. Would love to be able to go back to bed!

mamamiafigaro · 04/10/2010 10:50

Budda - sounds like you had a fab time!

My weekend went like this

birthday food and cake on friday

bacon buttys on sat followed by cream tea and massive plate of mince and pots

sunday was a fry up for breakfast and a roast lamb dinner followed by homemade banofee pie.

In my defence i was entertaining my mum and her partner plus it was dp birthday and im known for feeding people well and making fatty puds!

The really ad news was i weighed myself ths morning and was a shocking 3lb heaver!!!!!

so im on a mission to have lost that by friday, so lets hope for a miracle people.

Also gonna shred tonight and tomorrow night and every day in bettween...... and eat only lettuce.

encyclogirl · 04/10/2010 23:01

Hi buda and Mama, sounds like you both had fabby weekends!

Buda, The 80's gig must've been amazing, Paul Young... swooooonnnnn!! I saw him in concert in Dublin way back in...gulp...1983!!!

Mama, you'll ditch those lbs in no time. I'm betting on that miracle :)

Me? I peeked at the scales this am and I was down 2!!!!!!!!!!! Since Friday!!! OMG I can't believe this is finally happening fo me. I spent so long trying to do this and suddenly I found that it's working.

I will admit that I'm working for it, but nothing that I don't want to do. I don't feel deprived or anything like that.

Dunno if the 2lbs will still be off come Friday, but it was very motivating for me today.

Okay off to bed, talk tomorrow xx

BudaisintheZONE · 05/10/2010 07:08

mamamiafigaro - sounds like you had a good weekend too. And don't worry - i have found that a few days of eating like that does result in a gain but it disappears quite quickly once you get back to the healthy eating.

encyclogirl - it was amazing! Brought back SO many memories! And Paul Young was lovely! Put his arm around me!!!

Where is everyone else??

Yesterday I had DS off school with a sore tummy Hmm but I have to say I felt very lethargic and not 100% myself. Have a cough which has been waking me up. Couldn't face cooking anything so just had a bolognaise out of the freezer and I had pasta with it. Also had 2 digestive biscuits in afternoon.

It's raining here today - yuck. Am planning on making a big pot of soup. Will do 30 mins on cross trainer.

Guitargirl · 05/10/2010 09:58

Hi everyone! Am back from holiday, well done for all the losses! Well, we had a lovely time and food wise I was doing ok until the last few days. DCs and DP eating ice-cream and fish and chips, etc. and I managed to resist, resist and then on Saturday and Sunday it all went to pot: takeaway, ice-cream, biscuits, cake, chocolate and crisps. You name it, I ate it. I also drank half a bottle of wine pretty much every night whilst we were away. But we did walk loads and I guess I didn't do too much damage as I had a sneaky peek on the scales this morning and I appear to be 0.75 lbs down on what I weighed before we went.

SO, trying to get back on track from now. Back to walking to work, etc. Sigh.

encyclogirl · 05/10/2010 12:29

WB Guitar! You did awesome to have actually LOST on holiday. That would never happen to me! Nu-uh. How far do you walk in the am?

Buda, what kind of soup are you making? I've got a root veggie one on the go. It's divine.

dinkystinky · 05/10/2010 14:22

Hi all - am sneaking on from work as have moved house (move was fine, DS2 now limpet baby though - aargh!) and no broadband till November (double aargh! Bloody sky!). Looks like people are doing well here and you had a fab time at the gig Buda!

encyclogirl · 05/10/2010 20:38

Good evening girls..

Just getting ready for my 'Yoga Hour'. Thought I'd post todays eats...

Br: Porridge, (correct portion size too!)
Sn: Pear
Lunch: Salad, low fat cottage cheese, slice of frittata
sn: Pear
Dinner: Chicken stir fry, no carb.

Lots of Pu-erh tea, one cappacino, water.

I seem to have stumbled onto a winning formula with my no eating after 7 rule. Targeting to hold my 2lb weight loss for Friday's weigh in. If I do I will weigh 9' 11 for the first time in almost 2 years.

My final target is 9' 7' I fully expect my body to fight back at some point, but so far so good!

Dinky, good to see you!!

mamamiafigaro · 06/10/2010 07:17

encyclo - well done, i wish i was 9st 11 im v jealous!

also what is Pu-erh tea?

I have also recorded some yoga off sky to try (done some once before but DP deleted it off sky+)

Yesterday i had

coffee for breakfast (was in work at 7am)

gregs tuna crunch sandwich for lunch and water

Lamb rogan josh and rice (1/2 a boil in the bag pouch)

snacks of grapes and a WW yog.

Think i will buy some green tea as not had any for ages.

Todays plan is, school run, house work, play with ds and then start my ECA essay.

dinkystinky · 06/10/2010 10:19

Morning all - Encyclo you are doing brilliantly! You are now officially the poster girl for our thread. Wish I could adopt the no eating after 7 rule - by the time I've wrestled DS2 to sleep its gone 8.30 so currently eating at around 9pm. And DS2 is not sleeping either due to the move so am soooo tired and know that is when I tend to overeat. Have started working out again (no weights yet) so hoping a gentle run at lunchtime will give me some energy to get through the day.

encyclogirl · 07/10/2010 11:08

Hi Girls,

I'm still flying the flag here with my weight loss plan. Hoping to have a good result tomorrow.

I've tweaked my eating slightly and am now making sure I make pretty much everything I eat. I was having Subway's every day and aside altogether from the cost, that was slowing me down, I'm sure of it. Had to have that bag of Snack-o-jacks.

Mama, Pu-erh tea is a Chinese tea with a very earthy flavour, a bit like Green Tea. It's definitely helping my digestion and I have it in the evening after I stop eating. It's supposed to speed up your metabolism. If I weigh in tomorrow at 9'11" then I'll be absolutely sure the Pu-erh tea was extremely useful.

Dinky, I think as long as you don't snack in the run up to your 9.00pm meal you'll be fine. It's the late night snacking I had to put the Ki-bosh on IFSWIM.

mamamiafigaro · 08/10/2010 06:57

Well its not quite a miracle but i weighed in this morning at 14st 4 1/2lb so only a 1lb gain!!! Really please since it was only since sunday/monday morning i have been good.

Lots of motivation for this week.

Hope you all do well this week.

Guitargirl · 08/10/2010 08:18

Morning everyone!

Weighed in this morning and am 2 lbs down on what I weighed 2 Fridays ago. Am now 11 stone 9.75. Have struggled this week, bought some oat cakes to have for lunch at work and made the mistake of leaving them open on my desk....not many left now Blush.

Also went out for dinner on Wed and drank an entire bottle of wine...Blush Blush.

Anyway, will hopefully be better this week!

Encyclo - you are doing brilliantly! Must feel great to be under 10 stone!! Have changed my route to work, I used to get a bus and two tubes which took me door to door but now I walk 0.4 miles to the nearest train station, 15 minute train ride and then 1.9 miles from the station to work. I do the same coming home and try to do that 3 times a week. But that's the only exercise I do!

dinkystinky · 08/10/2010 09:27

Hmm, 2lb gain today (not really that surprising as have been stress biffing)- now 10 stone 7lb. Will be away this weekend - will keep an eye on booze consumption and get back on straight and narrow from Monday - and up my exercise. Who is with me for hardcore zoning, starting Monday?

The hardcore zone rules are

  • drink at least 2 litres of water a day (can be water or herbal tea)
  • get some exercise in every day
  • monitor food consumption: no sweets, fruit only for snacks between meals
  • remember - NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING SLIM FEELS
  • if you mess up by biffing, you have to come on this thread to confess and do penance (the other posters to chose your penance)
  • you're allowed one treat a day - be it a glass of wine at the end of the day or a single biscuit/sweet. Choose wisely and enjoy it - but remember to enjoy it as it is a single treat for working so hard at the weight loss.
