And a very good morning to you all!

New thread!!!!!!! As promised.

Weighed in and have lost the holiday kilo. So back to 15 st 3. Am still amazed that I only gained a kilo. There was NO restraint!

Goal now to get to 15 st.

Dinky I am definitely with you. I weighed in at 9'11" this am, in fact a shade under, almost 9'10.5 which is awesome.

I absolutely know for a fact it was a direct result of my Hardcore Zoning. I'm now facing into my 4 weekend in a row of zoning. I used to dread the weekends, not any more!! So pleased with my results and feel like I can finally do this.

Once I get to goal I'll stay here and cheer you all on, cos lets face it. Getting to goal is the easy bit...staying there's another thing entirely.

Mama and Guitar, great results all round :)

BudaisintheZONE · 08/10/2010 11:55

Well done on losses all.

Dinky - with you on the hardcore from Monday.

Feeling shitty. Crappy cold. DH was out last night and came home at 3.40am (!!) and woke me and I couldn't get back to sleep. And found out that my Dad has prostate cancer. Sad

Had pasta last night for dinner. Have been eating too much hummus. Then had crackers and butter. Was out for lunch yesterday too and had quiche and chocolate pudding.

Gained 2lbs.

dinkystinky · 08/10/2010 14:09

Oh Buda - am so sorry to hear about your dad. Have they started treatment? DH works will quite a few older guys with prostrate cancer and its under treatment and remission so fingers crossed for your dad.

Encyclo - well done!

BudaisintheZONE · 08/10/2010 15:08

dinky - no treatment plan yet. He is waiting to go for a bone scan to see if it has spread. One worry is that the doc said it has been there for a while. Scary stuff. He had a quadruple bypass in January and is doing really well after that. And now this.

OP posts:
mamamiafigaro · 08/10/2010 16:55

Buda - really sorry to here about your dad, lets hope they get the treatment sorted fast and fingers crossed for you and your family.

Encyclo well done your doing so well.

encyclogirl · 08/10/2010 23:29

Buda that is awful, no wonder you had some choclate pud. How old is he?

dinkystinky · 09/10/2010 07:21

Oh Buda - that really is awful. I bet it feels like one thing after another with your dad's health. Keeping my fingers crossed for your dad.

Guitargirl · 09/10/2010 07:40

Buda - now wonder you feel shitty. Am very sorry about your Dad. It sounds as though he and you have really been through the wringer this year Sad. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery.

Dinky - am with you (as long as walking counts as exercise!?)

Have been drinking too much on holiday and last week. And grazing on carb-heavy snacks. Yesterday was a bit better but need to get back in the zone. And must NOT biff this weekend to maximise the loss on the scales on Friday [hopeful].

dinkystinky · 09/10/2010 07:54

Guitargirl - yes, walking counts as exercise - but walk at a faster pace than usual walking pace (as if running late for an appointment) to get your heartrate up. Or do intervals of normal walking then speed walking. We've got to go all shock and awe on our bodies to see results!

BudaisintheZONE · 09/10/2010 08:28

Thanks everyone.

Dad is 71. I think he is a bit annoyed with himself as he knew he should have been going for checks but didn't. He used to drink too much and eat all the wrong things but then gradually changed what he was eating and then was diagnosed with diabetes about 18 months ago, then the heart issues. He has done so well with diet and cutting down on the booze.

Keeping fingers crossed it hasn't spread.

Had curry last night. No exercise. But am planning on zoning it again from today. Gorgeous day here so will take dogs for long walk.

OP posts:
Guitargirl · 10/10/2010 07:47

I biffed yesterday. Very cross with myself. Am even further now from my target for next Friday of 11 stone 6. Grrr...it wasn't even that nice to be honest.

mamamiafigaro · 10/10/2010 08:54

Guitar i biffed like a beast on friday and i felt sick as a dog, it was not nice and just made me a bloated pig. I learnt my lesson.

Yesterdays offerings were;
2 slices of toast for breakfast (was meant to be banana too but DS clocked it and i had no chance as last one)

small bowl of HM tomato pasta and some eat smart garlic bread foro lunch.

dinner was a chicken burger and oven chips.

treat was a glass of pepsi.

snacks were coffee and some bread sticks.

My sister and her brood are visiting at the weekend so im trying to plan in healther meals and not drink so much wine! Also going to my mates on thursday for some vino and nibbles, so need to be extra good and up the exercise to compensate!

BudaisintheZONE · 10/10/2010 11:24

Biff Biff Biffing here.

OP posts:
Guitargirl · 10/10/2010 18:39

Ok, have done penance today for yesterday's biffing:

Breakfast - branflakes
Mid morning - apple
Lunch - 1 slice of rye bread with hummus, 2 slices of pastrami
Mid afternoon - 2 kiwis
Dinner - carrots and broccoli Biscuit. Was going to have fish but forgot to buy any.

dinkystinky · 11/10/2010 09:13

Right all - you've made your biffing confessions but Bootcamp starts here. No more biffing - you understand me?

Mama - can you take some nibbles with you on Thursday? Maybe home made dips (use low fat natural yoghurt or do a low fat houmous version)and crudites? Alternate glass of wine with glass of water (if poss) and that should keep the calories down. It is generally a good idea to try and plan your meals ahead so you can work in healthier options anyway so good thinking on that part. I find when I havent planned ahead (at least in skeletal form) that's when the worst biffing occurs.

Lol at your very veggie dinner Guitargirl.

Buda - can understand the emotional biffing with all the worry about your dad, but come on, it wont make you feel better in the long run. Do something that will make you feel better - use that energy to cook healthy nutritious meals, get on that cross trainer and work your worry and anger out on it (I find if I'm exercising hard enough I'm so focused on remembering to breathe I dont have time to think about anything else: nice to have a respite from thinking for a bit) and look after yourself.

BudaisintheZONE · 11/10/2010 09:53

Morning all.

Gorgeous morning here and I have just taken dogs for walks. Just having a glass of water and then will do 20 mins on cross trainer. Then shower and I need to go and buy DS some swimming goggles for tomorrow. Not sure if will have early lunch and then go or snack, go and lunch after. Decisions decisions! EArly lunch I think as cleaner is here and will want to do kitchen.

Then need to sort out bags of warm clothes etc to take to school tomorrow for Salvation Army collection to take to the areas affected by the toxic sludge disaster here in Hungary. Need to Tesco shop too and add some basics in. They have been left with nothing. Sad Massive drive on at school and with the British Women's Association here to get them as much help as we can.

Am in zone. Dinner is sausage and lentil casserole tonight then DH goes away tomorrow till Saturday so I can be really good. Except am out on Thursday night. But am planning on being good.

Didn't weigh myself this morning as was afraid to! But hopefully by Friday I will be able to look that scales in the eye!

Thanks for pep talk dinky. I know you are right. I am really struggling with weekends anyway. Always tell myself I will be good but then cheat big-time.

Guitargirl · 11/10/2010 18:33

Today has been ok:

Breakfast - branflakes
Mid morning - apple and mint tea
Lunch - 1 slice of rye bread toasted with hummus, packet of sliced roast chicken
Mid afternoon - diet coke
Dinner - homemade burger, parsnips, carrots, broccoli and onions.

Glad we don't have wine otherwise I would be drinking some right now!

encyclogirl · 12/10/2010 09:58

Righto Biffettes. We're done biffing now, we're in the zone, hardcore, bootcamp style.

Today's food:

Porridge for brekkie
pear mid morning
home made fritatta with salad for lunch
stir fry turkey with no noodles for dinner.

Drinks: Pu-erh tea, 2 black coffees, water.

Yoga for one hour tonight.

I weighed in this morning just touching 9'10"

If ever you doubted that healthy eating and exercise works look at me. 45 years old. Trying to lose the same stone for a year now. Starting week 5 of zoning, and I'm already almost 9lbs down.

It can be done, but you HAVE to get real. You have to be totally honest with yourself. One small biffage will set you back half a week and then you're already playing catch up. Its. Not. Worth. It.

Commit to this between now and Christmas and lets see where we all are by then.

Nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels!

PS: My dh can't keep his hands off me (TMI sorry), still dunno if that's a benefit or a cost lol!

dinkystinky · 12/10/2010 10:00

That looks very virtuous Guitargirl. Yesterday was skinny latte, yoghurt and porridge for breakfast, sushi and rice crackers for lunch after cardio session at gym and prawn stirfry plus salad for dinner - my treat was an orangina light after dinner.

Today have done light weights session (still nursing sodding shoulder back to health), skinny latte and yoghurt and small portion of muesli for breakfast. Thinking maybe a veggie soup for dinner followed by low fat natural yoghurt and mixed berries and a boots shaper meal deal lunch today.

BudaisintheZONE · 12/10/2010 10:36

Hi all.

Kick me and kick me hard. Blush

Was hungry all day yesterday and snacked but on healthy stuff. Then got to 6pm and had a fishfinger, half a slice of toast and 3 potato wedges. Dinner was risotto. And then I had a slice of cake. Blush

Aarrrrgh. I am my own bloody worst enemy.

So far today have just had porridge for breakfast made with milk, added blueberries and flaked almonds. About to have a green tea and a yoghurt.

Buda - right, get on that phone and book those pilates classes right now - 2 a week. You need something to focus on and those pilates classes will do it!

Actually, it doesnt sound like you biffed too badly. Remember the bootcamp rule though - only one small treat a day (a slice of cake could be your treat I guess). It sounds like you were in the need of comfort food last night - make sure you have some nice low cal comfort food in (low fat hot chocolate, weightwatchers cake/biscuits etc.) so if you need comfort food you can have your treat of the day - remember, only one piece/item for your treat though.

BudaisintheZONE · 12/10/2010 11:48

I am actually trying to avoid anything with wheat or sugar so any treats like that are out really.

I will book the pilates classes but we are away week after next for 10 days so will book for when we come back.

Have just boiled some eggs for lunch. Will have with rye bread and cherry tomatoes.

DH is now away so will make soup for dinner for me and I can have that through the week.

CheeeseOnToast · 12/10/2010 13:49

Ello everyone

Had a good few weeks - although have had a horrible chest infection which has knocked out my appetite, which is a good thing, but it's also made me even more weak and feeble and so I've done no exercise in about three weeks. Apart from a few one mile walks. Blush

But I'm feeling better and better, and I walked to work this morning (3.5 miles) and feeling ok. Been eating well too, and last time I weighed myself last week I was just under 60kgs. My target is 55kgs so not far to go. I haven't fancied chocolate or crisps or anything since I've been ill, must be some kind of sub-conscious need for healthy food to get me better, so on the right track.

Nice to see you gals still going - and Buda, sorry to hear about your dad. Hopefully treatment will go well.

Sorry if I've missed out on any other news, haven't got the time to read the four pages I've missed out on, hope everyone else is ok. I hereby promise to post more, and want to start listing what I've been eating as find that helps.

Buda, soup sounds nice, what kind of soup have you made? I love the fact it's now soup weather Blush Grin

dinkystinky · 12/10/2010 14:01

But cake has sugar in Buda! You have to either rid your house of temptation with things with that you're trying to avoid or, if you cant help but eat them on occasion, try to ensure that at least you're going for the less calorific options. Definitely book the pilates classes and make sure you attend them though when you get back. If you can squeeze a class in before you go away, do so - it'll give you a taster and hopefully whet your appetite for more classes.

Soup for dinner sounds good - as does your lunch.

Cheeese - lovely to se you. Sorry you've been so ill though. Take it easy easing yourself back into exercise though - I've been off exercise for 4 weeks due to a sprained shoulder (not from exercise, from dealing with a blimming toddler!) and its amazing how hard it is to get your fitness levels back up to where they used to be!
