And a very good morning to you all!

Another weekend of eating crap. I gain 2 kilos every weekend and spend Monday to Friday losing it again! NO MORE.

Last 2 weekends I was out on the Friday night and that just sent the entire weekend into a spiral.

Planned on being really good yesterday but failed.

Anyway. Back on plan. Breakfast was muesli with blueberries. Walked both dogs. Big dog was 45/50 mins and then took the puppy out for her first ever walk. So funny. She is such a cheeky thing but we got to the front gate and I put the lead on her and she just sat there! Would not walk out the gate! Lifted her out in the end and she was fine then.

Lunch - not sure yet. Maybe tuna salad on rye bread. Just had a nectarine for snack.

Dinner will be this. Have had it before and it is very tasty.

Hello peeps.

I've been in and out to of the zone so much I'm embarrassed to post here...

Zoning since last Monday though.

This is what I'm doing:

Brekkie: Porridge
Snack: Pear
Lunch: Chicken Terryiaki and bag of snack o jacks from subway
Snack: Pear
Dinner: Varies, usually some sort of stir fry, or frittata, or casserole. Very heavy on the veg though.

It's worked so far, I'm down 2.5. Now weigh 10st .5lbs

Also, doing yoga every night.

Need to drop a further 10...we'll see

encyclogirl · 20/09/2010 15:16

Oh the other really interesting thing is I've been drinking Pu-erh tea, I think it's doing a number on my metabolism.

And, the most important thing is this weekend just past is the first weekend in ages I didn't have a major biffage fest. That felt pretty good too :)

Guitargirl · 20/09/2010 19:46

Hi everyone, had such a crappy day today, everything gone wrong. One crisis after another at work, left DD sobbing at nursery today, took DS to docs as he has an infection on his leg and it's putting him in a right strop. Anyway:

Breakfast - branflakes
Mid morning - apple
Lunch - 2 oatcakes, cheese, egg mayo
Mid afternoon - packet of peanuts
Dinner - bolognese sauce with 2 slices of rye bread.

Am in a BAD mood and if we had a drinks cabinet I would be emptying it about now...

BudaisintheZONE · 21/09/2010 08:23

Sorry you had such a shitty day Guitargirl. Hope today is better.

Hi encyclogirl. Nice to see you again.

Dinky still sick? And where is Ilythia??

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 21/09/2010 12:14

Where is everybody??

I've recovered from flu - finally - only to bloody well sprain my right shoulder somehow while dealing with ill child on Saturday night - god knows how I did it. It fecking well hurts. So that's exercise out for me for at least the next 2 weeks so will have to focus on losing weight through sensible eating. Ho hum. Have biffing through my flu so back on the straight and narrow for me now.

Encyclogirl - that Pu-erh tea sounds good. I find a similar effect with green tea. Well done on loss so far - keep up the great work.

Guitargirl - sorry you had such a shitty day yesterday. Hope today is a hell of a lot better.

So what have I missed?

Guitargirl · 21/09/2010 18:25

Hi everyone, dinky - sorry about your shoulder - must be painful Sad

I biffed last night and it wasn't even that nice: pombears, milky way stars and a few biscuits. Oh, and some chocolate milk. Yes - I seem to have regressed to a 5 year old Hmm.

Have had dinner now though and determined not to eat anything else today!

Breakfast - nothing, chaos getting out of the house this morning
Mid morning - apple
Lunch - sliced turkey, hummus
Mid afternoon - 2 kiwis and some blueberries
Dinner - 2 slices of bacon and some baked beans.

encyclogirl · 21/09/2010 22:33

Evening girls, thanks for the welcome back :)

I seem to have stumbled upon my mojo. Dunno how, but I found it and I'm keeping a watchful eye on it.

Main things I'm doing is not eating after 7.00pm, drinking my Pu-erh tea, practising yoga and drinking 1.5 litres of water a day. I just cannot make it to 2ltres.

Loving the yoga by the way. I dug out my old Geribody dvd. God she's annoying, but her trainer is excellent.

Guitargirl hang in there, today seems like a great day for you so far.

Budda and Dinky, it's good to be back. I'm really hoping I can make it stick this time.

Why is SO hard? When I'm in zone I can't imaging being anywhere else. When I'm not it's pretty ugly...

I left my yoga mat on the floor of bedroom tonight in the hope I'll wake up early and do some Asthanga yoga in the am. Dh is pissing himself at the idea of it.

BudaisintheZONE · 22/09/2010 06:53

It is all about the mind set Encyclogirl isn't it. Mine is almost there. I do feel more enthused this week.

Took dog for long walk yesterday - did an hour but faster than normal. Was knackered when I got back!

Was starving all day yesterday though. Ate more than I should but it was good stuff not crap. Really need to reign in portions as well. I just get so hungry.

B-fast - Muesli and blueberries
Snack - 2 slices turkey
Still hungry - apple
Drank water and green tea
Lunch - 2 hard boiled eggs, 3 cherry tomatoes and some low fat mayo on rye bread
Still hungry - some healthy tortilla chips and hummus
Water and green tea
Still hungry - had full of mixed nuts
Still hungry - green tea and a natural yoghurt
Still hungry - a piece of cheese
Still hungry - water
Still hungry - normal tea
Dinner - a large sausage with a lentil/veg/creme fraiche dish.

Hope today is better!

dinkystinky · 22/09/2010 08:56

Ugh, hate not being able to exercise. Feel all sluggish and crap (and digestive system all bunged up - TMI sorry). So annoying. Am hoping if I aggressively rest shoulder this week will be able to take up gentle exercise next week.

Buda - your day yesterday doesnt sound too bad on the whole, keep up the good work.

Encyclogirl - hope you did your yoga this morning to prove your DH wrong Grin

mamamiafigaro · 22/09/2010 09:39

Morning all, welll done to the zoners!

Been good thus far, yesterday i had whole meal toast for breakfast, prawn salad for lunch and some pate and oatcakes for dinner.

Today i have had a yogurt and 4 oat cakes with cottage cheese and chives for breakfast, not sure what for lunch yet and i think pork chops for dinner.

Need to get into the exercise groove, but just trying to get motivated today as i just have no energy. Need to clean the house from top to toe and have to study as have an ECA due in a couple of weeks and done no prep at all.

Also my mother is coming for a long weekend next week and i have major cleaning to do before im fit to recieve guests.

encyclogirl · 22/09/2010 10:30

I did it! Ok only 15mins of yoga...but still, I did it!

Dh was stunned. Tell you what though, my body was so stiff first thing. I felt pretty energised afterwards.

Breakfast: Porridge
Snack: Pear - about to have it now
Lunch: Subway lunch of chicken Teriayki (sp), and Snack-o-jacks, sour cream and chive
Snack: Pear
Dinner: Fritatta with green salad.

I think the Snack-o-jacks aren't the best choice, but fark it, if that's the worst of my crimes I can live with it!

Budda, your food choices are good though, portions are a problem for me too. I panic if I see a small plate of food, seriously.

Dinky, it's horrible not being able to exercise when you desperately want to. Hope your shoulder heals soon.

Mama, that's a good menu. Where do get your oatcakes? I sometimes have rice cakes. Are they the same? Or worse? I live in Ireland and oat cakes wouldn't be on sale everywhere, but I'm sure I could find them...

BudaisintheZONE · 22/09/2010 10:51

dinky - I am sure it must be so frustrating for you. And will make you cranky! Years ago I was exercising a lot and through injury had to stop for a few days and the lack of feel good endorphins was very apparent! Hopefully you will be on the mend soon. Rest is good.

mamamiafigaro - are you sure you are eating enough? Exercise will help with energy levels but I know how hard it is to get the energy in the first place. Are you taking a multivit? (Says she who is crap at it but is going to take one now!)

encyclogirl - where in Ireland are you? I'm a Dub! Oatcakes are available in Tesco. Not sure about Dunnes and Superquinn.

Been good so far today. Breakfast - porridge sweetened with fruit puree, added blueberries and flaked almonds, cup of green tea. Just taken dog for walk. 55 mins. Mostly fast and with some hills. Def breathing hard for most of it! Just had snack of a banana and a natural yoghurt and am having a large glass of water and some vits. Will make another green tea.

Salmon for dinner tonight I think. Will do potatoes and veg for DH and roast veg for me.

OP posts:
mamamiafigaro · 22/09/2010 11:26

Encyclo they are Nairn's fine milled oat cakes from morrisons and they are more substansial the polistryrine blocks Rice cakes.

Budda im prob eating too much! Yest i n never had proper dinner as dc were eating at SIL so just me and DP and i coulnt be arsed looking for a substansial meal as had just finnished work.

Tired as working late, getting up very early (about 5.30/6am) and getting up about a million times in the night to put dc2 covers back on. Also dc1 could not sleep as she hurt her arm falling off a friends crutches!and dc2 has been upset all morning as he toppled down the stairs, head first on his ack!(he is ok apart from a sore ear and a skinned spine).

Will try to go to bed early tonight, if i can, so just feeling frazzled. If i get back into some exercise i know i feel better.

encyclogirl · 22/09/2010 12:58

Buda i'm in Cork, so I could pop into Tescos on the way home from work.

Mama, I'll check them out. They sound like a decent 'carbish' option. Sorry about the kiddos and the bad nights' sleep. it's awful trying to functin on a broken sleep.

Guitargirl · 22/09/2010 20:21

Everyone sounds like they're doing really well - keep it up everyone!

Am knackered today and stressed at work - going on holiday on Friday and have a million things to do before that plus an annoying personnel issue to deal with. Anyway:

Breakfast - branflakes
Mid morning - 2 kiwis and an apple
Lunch - sliced turkey and hummus
Mid afternoon - blueberries
Dinner - homemade burger and some egg mayo.

Am going out for lunch and dinner tomorrow so will see how that goes!

Mama - hope your little boy is doing ok!

encyclogirl · 22/09/2010 22:17

Evening all...

Ended up eating a weird combo for dinner. Bag of frozen green beans (well I boiled them first), tub of 1% fat cottage cheese and 3 fish fingers baked. Strangely delicious combo. Pretty low fat/low cal but high protien/low carb option and I even got a dairy serving in.

I think it's a good option when I don't want to think too hard.

Kind of reminded me of the diets my flatmate and I used to embark on all those years ago when we lived in London.

I hour of yoga too.

In. The. Zone.

mamamiafigaro · 23/09/2010 15:59

Encyclo im v jealous of your good zoning!

I have had today

1 Activia yoghurt and 4 oat cakes with cottage cheese

and 1/2 a med pizza (impromtu pub lunch/snack as bucketing with rain!) and only thing on menu that was not fried! and a Latte

dinner think 2 slices of seeded batch toast and prawns marie rose and some fruit.

(was supposed to be sausage and mash but my niece is here for tea last min and i never realised i would not have enough untill cooking so may poss have a snack later.

Done ,lots of walking but no exercise as such.

BudaisintheZONE · 23/09/2010 16:22

Hi all. Am zoning away here in sunny Budapest!

Breakfast was porridge with blueberries and flaked almonds
Then did fast 25 min walk with dog.
Then was going to an 'open house' that a friend was holding selling bracelets (love a shopping opportunity!). Got utterly lost and it took me over an hour to get there. Should have taken 28 mins according to my iPhone! And then I wasn't keen on them. Liked them on everyone else but not on me.

Got back home around 1.30 starving. Had a slice of rye bread with some mackerel and 2 hard boiled eggs.
2 cups green tea.
Have just been out to Tesco and was peckish when got back so had an Activia yoghurt and a kiwi fruit.

Hoping for a good result tomorrow. For us all!

Guitargirl · 23/09/2010 20:45

Hi everyone, another stressful day today but am now on hols! Hurraaayy!

Breakfast - nothing. Chaos again
Mid morning - 2 apples and a kiwi
Lunch - chicken salad from Nandos
Mid afternoon - another bloody apple
Dinner - 2 large glasses of red wine Blush. It's been one of those days...

encyclogirl · 23/09/2010 22:28

Oooh is tomorrow weigh in day? Dernit, I weighed in on Monday. But I'd love to weigh in tomorrow too, so count me in :)

Dinner tonight was turkey mince bolognaise, and....get this....vegetable spagetti squash masquerading as my pasta.

Freaking myself out now!

Guitar girl that is still pretty controlled though. Good day all in all.

Buda, wow you're a long way from home! Mind you 35k people have left these shores in the last 3 months. Country's falling apart...again. Anyway, good zoning!

mamamiafigaro · 24/09/2010 07:04

Weighed in and stayed the same.

Think i will weigh in at the scales in boots on a friday lunch time so i can keep a proper record as my sclaes are crap (as in they always need adjusting as old, not because i think im not losing weight because of crap scales).

In despair but will not use this as fuel to stuff my fat face.

Hope everyone else is more sucesfull this morning.

BudaisintheZONE · 24/09/2010 07:34

Morning all!

Well I weighed in and am down a pound. Not great but not bad. I think this week I kicked the cravings for crap that I was getting because I was eating so much crap over the weekends. So next week I will deal with portions and up the exercise.

I am now 15 st 2. If I really focus I should get under the 15 by next Friday. That is my plan anyway.

mamamiafigaro - can you work out how many calories you are consuming per day? I worry you are not eating enough and that will actually hamper your weight loss. Are you following a specific plan?

encyclogirl - I left in the last recession! Moved to London in 1987.

OP posts:
Guitargirl · 24/09/2010 08:04

Have lost 2.25 pounds. Considering I biffed twice this week am ok with that. Maybe it's the walking that's helping.

Am off on holiday today though (yipee!) so won't be posting till the week after next and will also be missing next Friday's weigh-in. Am going to TRY and be good Grin. Might allow myself a couple of 99s!!

Have a good week everyone!

mamamiafigaro · 24/09/2010 08:16

Guitar - well done and have a fab hol, im sure a couple of 99 wont kills you!

Buda - a lb is a lb, well done! I do think im eating too much some times, im not following a specific plan as just trying to eat less fat, but think i will follow dig out my WW books and follow that for a week and see how i go.

also Encyclo - i need your entheusiasim to rub off on me!
