mamaG is on twitter I'm afraid...think she is ipodging

largeginandtonic · 02/09/2010 09:01

Twitter has taken over i see.

Dinky 20 mins a DAY! Crikey. I think i will drag it in to the front room today. The kids will climb on it and drive me insane though.

Have had a mini bowl of shreddies for breakfast. Need to get porridge.

dinkystinky · 02/09/2010 09:05

I dont do twitter - I refuse to do something as twee as tweeting Grin

Come LG&T - if you do 20 mins a day, you'll see those really fast results you're looking for. If you dont, you will see results but will take longer to see them. Your choice. And if the kids climb on it while you're on will add further resistance - so even quicker results. Try to think of it that way.

Shreddies good start - porridge also good. Basically anything that fills you up in the morning so you dont dive into the biscuit tin at 11 is a good thing.

largeginandtonic · 02/09/2010 09:38

I don't buy biscuits. I can't bear the children asking for them every 30 seconds like in some houses.

I bake. I made blue macaroons the other day with chocolate ganache filling. There lieth the problem.

Will drag it out < sigh >

My vocal cords are well exercised. Been yelling all morning!

mamamiafigaro · 02/09/2010 09:54

Morning all! Lovely sunny day here so feeling nicley motivated.

largeginandtonic - im the same as you with the bulge above the tummy button, and thats what mainly makes me look fat and i hate it.

Im shredding in the vain hope it will go if not reduce!

feeling positive about a loss this week as hopped on the scales this morning and it was looking good.

BudaisintheZONE · 02/09/2010 20:02

Hi all

Well I am getting there. Yesterday was about 75% in zone. Today quality was 100% but quantities were not great. Went into town and ended up with half and hour to kill before having to get DS from school so I went to MacDonalds! And I had a coffee and a water!! Bought a chocolate croissant for DS too and didn't even have a bite.

I know weigh in will be crap tomorrow but at least I am getting there on the food side.

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 02/09/2010 20:07

Hurrah for the zonelike omming instead of nomming at Macdonalds Buda. Am proud of you.

Guitargirl · 02/09/2010 20:07

Well done to everyone getting back in the zone!

Today's intake was:
Breakfast - 2 slices of salami
Lunch - salad made with rocket, aubergines, tomatoes, peppers and mozarella
Afternoon - peppermint tea
Dinner - beans with chorizo, garlic and green peppers.

I also have that fat above the belly button and it feels really hard so have no idea how am going to shift that. But my Mum said she overheard someone at the gym the other day asking the trainer how to lose fat around the middle and he apparently said that is the last bit of fat to go on any diet. Hmm

dinkystinky · 02/09/2010 20:13

Good zoning Guitargirl. Exercise that builds your muscle tone and corrects your posture - so you stand erect and tall and hold your ab muscles in - can help the belly fat above the belly button look smaller - so pilates can help - but you need to combine it with cardio to shift the fat too.

largeginandtonic · 02/09/2010 21:11

Dinky are a font of all exersise knowledge?

I actually really like exercise i am just mobbed by children climbing up my legs. Grrr

I have eaten shreddies, soup and tomatoes, small portion pot dauphinoise, lean turkey, HUGE pile of veg.

Well done to Buda nd Guitargirl. I envy your zoneing.

Undertone · 02/09/2010 21:58

HELLO EVERYONE!

Or should I say bomjour? Back from France with parents and brother. Holiday was preceded by possibly the most insane week of work ever, so I forgot to say that I would be incommunicado for a while.

Oh. My. God. I have biffed like I was in some kind of All-Comers International Biffing Championship. Fistfuls of cheese, gallons of wine, armfuls of bread. I am NOT looking forward to the scales tomorrow. Mt tummy definitely feels bigger. My face has also had an uber break-out and I look like a pimply teen.

sigh. How is everyone? whass goin on then?

BudaisintheZONE · 03/09/2010 06:34

LG&T - just keep on at it. You will get there!

Hi Undertone - wondered where you were! Get thee back in zone!

Right. Weighed in. And I do NOT believe it given I have not exactly covered myself in glory this week but I lost 4lbs!!!! Am 15 st 4 which is only a pound heavier than my lowest. So hope to shift that this week.

Good luck everyone else!

OP posts:
mamamiafigaro · 03/09/2010 07:31

Budda - well done on the 4lb, im v -jealous.

Undertone glad you had a good holiday and i would of done the same re cheese, wine and bread! (i loooooovvvvveeeee bread).

Well even after the cookie incident i managed to lose 1 lb! Not fab but im pleased so im 14st 4lb. I really really really want to be under 14st so i should try and loose 4lb this week and by the following week i should succeed! as that 14st barrier is my nemisis!

Good luck to those still to weigh in.

dinkystinky · 03/09/2010 08:24

Well done Buda. Now just think how much more you'll lose having found your way back to the zone.... and well done Mama too.

Weighed in - am 10 4 today (yesterday was 10 3) so flat hunting stress is still working in my favour, as due to doing short days at work havent been able to maintain usual exercise regime.

LG&T - your day yesterday sounded positively virtuous. Wouldnt say am font of all exercise knowledge but do quite abit of exercise a week and happy to pass on what I have discovered on my weight loss voyages... It is amazing though what a difference it makes when you get the right combination of exercise for your body and mentality - its just a case of finding what works for you.

Undertone - bet you wont have put on as much as you think you have during your french holiday. Glad you had a good one though.

Undertone · 03/09/2010 11:08

Right. Got on the scales this morning expecting to see I had put on 900 pounds, but in the end it was only 3 (week before holiday was biff-a-licious as well due to having to eat all meals at work and the choice being take-out pizza or... take out pizza (boys at work ignored my bleating requests for 'just something that contains vegetables, for the love of god!')

So back up to 186.6lbs, which is 13 stone 4.6. Ho hum. Gimme a couple of weeks and I'll get through that 13 stone barrier.

Well done losers and maintainers!

CheeeseOnToast · 03/09/2010 12:25

Hi everyone!! And hi LGAT, long time no see. I am an occasional visitor to the thread, although I do keep up just rarely have time to post.

Started a new job (another new one) so trying to make good impression, and keeping very busy and somehow have slipped into the zone without even trying! Shock Hmm Which is a nice side effect. I weighed in this morning, down to 9st4 which is I'm quite pleased with. I haven't been to the gym in about two weeks though, just been eating a bit less, so I'm quite surprised.

AND I've had a birthday (it was yesterday) and have managed to avoid maximo-biffage which I'm pleased about. Although I'm going out for drinks tonight and I'm fairly sure I'll have a liquid dinner!

Well done on the weigh-ins Buda and Dinks - and Undertone I think that's actually pretty good considering you've been in France, land of delicious bread cheese wine and pastries.

MamaG is on twitter, as am I, 'doing' the ipodge thing, although I'm not properly doing it, just following the tweets. The fishy one is as fierce as ever on there!

Ok, lunch time, how bad do we think nachos are with chilli con carne and peppers? Need to line stomach somewhat but don't want to pig out too much. I'm only low carbing vaguely, ie trying not to have carbs with dinner. PLus if I just have a salad for lunch I will be good for nothing (apart from bed) after three drinks tonight.

BudaisintheZONE · 03/09/2010 16:49

Thanks Dinky. I think the weight gain was purely as a result of eating wheat and as soon as I cut that out the weight goes.

Undertone - you may well find the same. I find that biffing for holidays etc ends up with a gain but it goes quickly.

Cheeese - Happy Birthday for yesterday!!!

I think the fishy one as kidnapped a lot of people over to twitter. I may have a look. I did join Twitter ages ago but then deleted myself.

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 03/09/2010 17:09

Happy birthday Cheese. Hope you have a good celebration tonight. Think nachos with chilli is fine as a one off.

Bet the twitter massif will return once the fishy one has hit her target.

largeginandtonic · 03/09/2010 18:33

Oh i can't keep up with the twitter lot. It's like talking to yourself a lot of the time.

I have tried.

Buda 4lb! Blardy hell. I remember my first week on this thread. I lost 5lbs. I need to do that again next week.

Cheese Happy Birthday for yest. If i was 9st 4lb i would be walking round in a bikin Grin like a loon.

I WILL be one day again.

I have eaten bowl of shreddies, 2 lean turkey and salado wraps, a wispa, low fat tom based sausgae casserole with a few new potatoes.

I am now drinking mint tea.

I have not dragged the cross trainer out.

Guitargirl · 03/09/2010 18:51

Well done to Buda and all the other losers!

Today's intake:
Breakfast - 1 ryvita with butter, 1 slice of salami. Mint tea
Lunch - tuna salad: tuna, olives, green beans, tomatoes. Apple
Dinner - homemade burger, tomato and onion salad.

Am trying to stay away from a cold bottle of full-fat coke DP has in the fridge...

Lost 3.5 pounds on the scales today...plodding on...am 12 stones 5.5 now.

Have seen dress I would love to wear to a wedding in January (only if it's reduced in the sales as it's £££££). Maybe I should stick a picture of it to the biscuit tin or something!

mamamiafigaro · 04/09/2010 09:01

Happy birthday cheese for yest!
Guitar - well done on the 3.5 lb!

Im back firmy in the Zone.

Been Shredding this morning (accompanyed by DC) and plan to blitz this house today.

Joined the FoodFocus web sight i spotted on another thread and its really good, have any of you signed up? (its free).

Think it may help keep me focused.

It a fab sunny day here, hope you all have some fab weather too.

Guitargirl · 04/09/2010 18:16

Thank you! Smile
Just checking in with today's food:
Breakfast - 2 pieces of ryvita with cheese spread and 2 slices of salami
Lunch - we had a picnic. I ate: 1 packet of sliced roast beef (4 slices), 1 slice of ham, 5 cherry tomatoes, 1 triangle of laughing cow light, 3 slices of water melon.
Dinner - 2 slices of ryvita with egg mayo, 5 cherry tomatoes. 1 glass of banana milk - flavoured milk not good, very carby and all of it sugars...

dinkystinky · 04/09/2010 18:27

Well done guitargirl and mama. Bet you're fed up of ryvita after eating so much of it today guitargirl Grin

mamamiafigaro · 05/09/2010 17:43

OK i have shredded today and ran around the beach, jumping waves with the kids - so thats the exercise.

Breakfast - porridge and strawberries

Snack - 2 rice cakes with cottage cheese and chives

Lunch - bowl of HM carrot and lentil

Dinner - 1/2 a chippy portion of fish and chips

snacks - 1 custard cream and some grapes

Guitargirl · 05/09/2010 19:23

Thanks dinky - yes, do feel a bit ryvita-ed out!
Today:
Breakfast - 2 ryvitas (again!) with egg mayo, 5 slices of watermelon
Lunch - had lunch out: honey and mustard roasted chicken breast with green salad and chargrilled roasted veggies. Was a bit tasteless to be honest so ate about 2/3rds of it. Have such a terrible relationship with food but am really trying to stop eating when no longer hungry. Glass of red wine.
Dinner - pasta sauce (without the pasta) made with minced beef and lots of different veg, with feta cheese sprinkled on the top.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!
