Done my Shred this morning even tho my legs were like lead blocks! Also i cannot do sit ups to save my life (although must of done better today as i can feel my stomach muscles ache a little) and i did not feel sick so clearly the sickness was mearly my body going into shock at the exercise!

Had porridge and banana for breakie

planning oatcakes and cottage cheese for lunch

and HM chilli and small portion of rice for dinner.

Im also going to divulge in a couple of cheeky vodkas (with diet coke)tonight with OH over a movie and nibbles so must get some healthy treats in. thats if i stay awake long enough as dc2 has decided 5.30am is a great time to start the day and today it was 5am soooooo im shattered.

Ilythia · 28/08/2010 22:30

Yo yo yo ladies.
I is BACK and In The Zone.

(I also have a new netbook and it has no scroll key so apologies but I can't read all the thread, welcome to noobs, well done to losers, Bad Biffers)

Am currently satying at my mums which is like a detox, I don't smoke or drink while here, and I can go for runs whenever as there is always someone to wacth dd's.
Also mum is on dukan diet so no bad carbs or naughty things in the house, veyr handy. Did 5 k yesterday and 5k earlier and they were Good Runs. I haven't run in ages and it felt so nice. Legs agony now though.

Went back up to 15 10 over last few weeks (MIL died recently for those that are new so I went a bit comfort food crazy) so will weigh in tomorrow (yes I know its late, what.everGrin)

Also have new phone with MyFitnessPal on it as an app so am logging everything instantly because my phoen is always on me. SCary but very effective.
WIll catch up on goss over next few days but nice to be back

BudaisintheZONE · 29/08/2010 01:45

Oh Ilythia. I didn't know MIL had died. I am so sorry. I seem to have missed that. I remember your thread when she had her first stroke. When you posted about her last stroke and her being in a coma I suspected it wouldn't be long. That is what happened with now DH's Dad. How is DP?

OP posts:
Ilythia · 29/08/2010 07:08

thanks buda, how's tricks? do is ok, was relief by the end, she was on ultimate diet, no food, no fluids, just morphine. and she lasted a week, she always was a stubborn old bat Smile

Guitargirl · 29/08/2010 10:40

Ilythia - very sorry to hear about your MIL. It must have been very difficult for your DP and you to see her like that.

We are also at my parents' until Tues, quite difficult eating wise as they have lots of treats for the DCs. And wine. Am holding firm so far though (except for 2 glasses on Friday night!). Am also leafing through one of my Mum's books about how to lose fat around the middle as am such an apple shape. Mum has Type 2 diabetes and I know that's waiting for me if I don't shift the lbs...

Anyway, yesterday I ate:

Breakfast - sultana bran with skimmed milk
Lunch - egg mayonnaise salad and mint tea
Afternoon snack - satsuma, plum and a nectarine
Dinner - 2 slices of ham, 2 pieces of ryvita with a triangle of laughing cow light, 5 cherry tomatoes and another nectarine.

Am also drinking 2.5 litres of water a day and haven't had a diet coke (my nemesis - or one of them!) for a week!

BudaisintheZONE · 29/08/2010 12:01

Hey Ilythia. Tricks is ok. It was a relief when FIL went too. He had had a few strokes and had gotten back to about 70% of what he was but then kept having little ones. Then finally another biggie and then was in a coma. Only responsive to pain poor love.

Have had very social month. School back on Tuesday so starting back in zone tomorrow.

We had a party last night and had gotten in Indian food. We have tonnes left! So about to have samosa and onion bhajis for lunch and will have curry, rice and naan for dinner. Then freezing the rest. Also have a tonne of cheese, lots of fruit and a box of Celebrations. Not to mention oodles of wine and champagne of various types. So today will be final binge and then I will, will, WILL be back on track tomorrow.

Does anyone watch The Biggest Loser US? I watch it on Sky and was watching this morning. One of the guys said something that I thought was worth noting and writing up in BIG letters. "The reason I am like this is because of me and I have control of me." So tomorrow I am taking control back.

Ilythia · 29/08/2010 19:25

SO, todya did not go great, went shopping with sister and mum for outfit for other sisters wedding and they were brutal 'No, you're too fat for that' was uttered a few too many times for my liking. Scored a lovely top though, and dresses/shrugs for dd's.
Then we got back to find DH had come down unexpectedly (he was at FIL's and needed a break before the funeral) so had knickerbocker glorys for pudding, but I only had a small amount of icedcream in mine and more jelly and fruit. Was yum though.
Otherwise I have been rpretty good, and can't walk properly so just going for walk to pub later with DH.

Few more days and I will be home and able ot take control of my deit back, well, for a few days until the funeral anyway!

dinkystinky · 29/08/2010 19:26

Ilythia - so sorry to hear about your MIL passing away. Comfort food is the only kind of food there is when you're going through such a sad stressful time. Though good to hear you're at your mums and getting back into the zone now and well done on the running.

Buda - next time when on your way back to the zone, do not eat the samosas, onion bhajees and nanna - they are fat central (due to the way they're cooked). Curries and rice are a much better option, honest (dinky speaks as an indian lady with the knowledge of how these things are cooked). Though hope you enjoyed your final last binge.

Guitargirl · 29/08/2010 20:23

OK today's food diary:

Breakfast - sultana bran with skimmed milk

Lunch - chicken breast from a casserole so came with a sauce which had onions, mushrooms and carrots in it and some peas.

Mid afternoon - mint tea

Dinner - 2 slices of ryvita with tuna/light mayo/red onion. Half a glass of wine. 2 satsumas and a nectarine.

My cousin told me today that he's getting married in January so extra incentive to lose the weight. Really don't want to have to go and pay money on new dress in a depressing size...

BudaisintheZONE · 29/08/2010 21:09

Dinky - I know! But they were here and I know I won't be having them again for a LONG time!!!

Have loads of fruit to use up - pears, grapes, strawberries, blueberries and some blackberries. Planning a smoothie for b'fast. Fruit and yoghurt for snack. And I think I will do a big salad with some sliced pear and some walnuts for lunch.

Weighing in tomorrow to see what damage I have done. Yikes!!

OP posts:
BudaisintheZONE · 30/08/2010 07:39

OK. Was 15st 3 on 13th August. Am 15 st and almost 8 lbs today. All my own fault.

Starting back in zone today.

DS is back to school tomorrow so last day of freedom today. Need to label uniform and get everything together. Need to decide on dinner too. Any ideas?

OP posts:
mamamiafigaro · 30/08/2010 08:55

Budda - well done for being back in the Zone!

Dinner hmmmm not sure im having leftovers from yest as im at work think kids are having Salmon fish fingers and oven chip and dp will fend for himself. What do you like? Spag bol, salad, grilled chicken and veg, or stir fry?

I was a bit naughty yest as no exercise and 2packets of crisps and some tiny cupcakes later im feeling really bad (espec after last weigh in) Although i did gut out all the kitchen cupboards yest!

So today i an going on a last min uniform hunt on foot which is about 3 miles round trip.

Breakfast is fruit
Lunch is left over turkey Milanes from yest
Dinner is prob soup or something from work

Must concentrate on staying in the Zone!

YoginiYellowBikini · 30/08/2010 19:52

Great to see you're all still here and zoning. Hope everyone's still doing well and is happy.

I may slip back in if that's ok. September is the start of my new way of eating and I'm dead excited.

Summer has thrown me right back to where I was after Christmas. The zone will sort me out I'm sure

Guitargirl · 31/08/2010 08:40

Good luck to everyone getting back in the zone!

Didn't do so well yesterday.

Breakfast - sultana bran with skimmed milk
Lunch - big family picnic with lots of non-diet friendly food. Packed my own sad little lunchbox of 2 ryvitas with laughing cow light, 2 slices of ham, 5 cherry tomatoes, plum, apple, satsuma. Didn't feel like a total weirdo as cousin's girlfriend had also packed her own box of boiled egg and salad. She is very slim at 40 and after 2 children and never seems to put on weight. She ate 5 crisps after her salad and my cousin asked her if she was feeling alright as she never eats that sort of stuff apparently. No wonder she's always slim Envy

Dinner - fish in batter Blush, peas. And too much wine Blush

Now I am slightly hungover and have 3 hour train journey with DD (3.8) and DS (18 months) back home, trying to avoid the diet coke/chocolate/crisps hangover coping strategy I usually have...

TotalChaos · 31/08/2010 08:45

checking back in!. v sorry about MIL ilythia.

put on a pound - GAH. not doing enough exercise. hope that DS return to school galvanises me....

guitar - if diet coke is out, then coffee is the only way forward for the train journey. oh and some trashy mags of your choice, as then you feel you have treated yourelf even if not bought nice food. if you can't resist crisps/choc then turkish delight is v. low fat for chocolate, and walkers baked or snacka jacks low fat for crisps.

BudaisintheZONE · 31/08/2010 09:05

Well the less said about yesterday the better.

Breakfast was fine.

Then took DS bowling and for lunch as last day of summer holidays. Ended up in MacDonalds. And I was starving by that stage. A salad was not going to cut it so had a wrap and fries and a diet Coke. Blush

Dinner was ok - chicken and chickpea thing from freezer.

Then had wine. And an ice cream. And opened a packet of tortilla chips . Blush Blush

First day of school here. Had porridge before I took DS as I knew there would be a welcome coffee and there is usually cake. There wasn't this year just crappy biscuits but was glad I had had my porridge anyway.

Am getting hungry now though so will have a slice of rye bread with peanut butter and some grapes. Am making soup for lunch. It is freezing here. Dinner will be sausage and lentil casserole.

Feels very wintery here which is unusual for this time of year. And I have a cold which just adds to the general wintery feeling!

OP posts:
Guitargirl · 31/08/2010 16:57

Back in London now and struggling with a headache. DP making pasta for dinner so will have the sauce - meat and veg in tomatoes.

Breakfast was sultana bran with skimmed milk and lunch was 2 ryvitas, cheese, ham and a load of fruit.

Will be at a conference for the next 3 days though where lunch is provided so will see how that pans out...

Buda - hope that McDonalds was good - could do with a McChicken sandwich - luckily our nearest one is miles away!

cyb · 31/08/2010 17:00

I'm back. In the zone, I can feel it this time

lucyintheskywithdinos · 31/08/2010 19:02

I've been lurking here, have now decided to low carb, beginning tomorrow when food delivery arrives.

I'm 13stone 7lbs and 5 foot 2... this is 3 stone down from my highest, but after DD1 I stalled.

Onwards...preferably downwards Grin

BudaisintheZONE · 31/08/2010 19:08

Hi cyb - can you pass some willpower this way please?

Guitargirl - it was good. I really enjoyed it. Even though I knew fine well I shouldn't have been having it!

Hello lucyintheskywithdinos. Welcome. I am sort of low carbing. Am not eating any crap carbs but am having fruit , veg, rye bread and porridge or granola. When I am sticking to it that is.

Lunch not great today. Succumbed to a sandwich and then some cheese and crackers. However when I came home from picking DS up from school I was hungry and I ate a bowl of grapes. Felt really ill afterwards and had to lie down!!! Got up just as DH arrived home from work and couldn't face cooking the sausage casserole so had a lamb, spinach and yoghurt thing from the freezer with butter beans and peas. Will do sausage casserole tomorrow.

Miserable weather here. Cold and wet and windy. Like winter. Normally hot here at this time.

OP posts:
Guitargirl · 31/08/2010 19:23

hello lucy - 3 stone loss is great - you know you can do it then!

Am doing similar eating plan to Buda - sort of low carb but allowing myself limited rye bread and brown rice and am not restricting veg and fruit at all. So, I guess the bad carbs rather than any carbs. Key for me is cutting back on the alcohol as I get terrible food cravings after a couple of glasses.

Had 2 slices of rye bread and butter with my dinner but on the plus side my headache has nearly gone!

cyb · 31/08/2010 20:08

Buda, I just woke up in the right frame of mind this morning-it might be something to do with going back to work tomorrow-I am more disciplined there

dinkystinky · 31/08/2010 20:51

Hi Cyb - welcome back to the zone. Welcome too Lucy - well done on losing 3 stone so far.

Buda - Mcdonalds Shock Come on missus - you have got to get back in the zone or the scales will move in the wrong direction again. Drop and give me fifty as penance...

Guitargirl - my sympathies on a hungover train journey with kids. My definition of hell! Hope the headache has shifted now.

BudaisintheZONE · 31/08/2010 20:59

Oh dinky I know. Am so pissed off with myself. Just cannot get mind in gear. Although today it was only lunch that was bad. Hopefully tomorrow it will be full day!!

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 31/08/2010 21:03

I prescribe an extra long walk (in the cold for your sins) tomorrow and drawing a line under the biffing. I bet you'll have loads of parties in the run up to christmas - and just think how fantastic it will be to be able to wear your smaller sized glam clothes you have packed up waiting to be unpacked and worn. Hold on to that thought next time the biffing urge hits.
