I need to loose half my body weight to be considered a healthy weight.

Started today and would love to support and have the support of others!

Who fancies joining me? Grin

I need to loose weight as well. I'll join you!

new2cm · 20/08/2010 19:36

I go to the gym (although I haven't been last week as I was ill) and spoke to one of the trainers there.

I swore that I didn't eat much, so he advised me to keep a small notepad on me so that I write everything I eat whilst eating the food.

I was quite surprised at just how much I do graze and eat leftovers. Some of the children leave good food on their plate and for some reason, I hate throwing food in the bin.

It is difficult.

I must remember, I am not a bin!

phoenixflower · 20/08/2010 20:05

Welcome to all the new joiners, you are all very welcome. My eating is out of control again, i've eaten 4 pastries today and 2 choc bars ontop of meals ( though I did skip lunch) feeling very guilty Blush

girls ...... no snacking ....... it is Bad!

hendo i got these recently and they are brilliant.
i was always scared of going on scales but as soon as some weight is lost, they are your friend Smile

i eat lots of fruit, satsumas and apples ATM wheras a few weeks ago it was melons and more melons

shall we try to have a healthy weekend? YES!

hendo77 · 21/08/2010 13:50

Thanks aristocat they look good and reasonably priced - will maybe send dh out to get some tomorrow!

phoenixflower - don't wallow in the guilt, although I've no idea what to do instead, especially as that is exactly what I do! Maybe decide what lovely snack you'd like to replace them with next time - or promise yourself to make yummy lunches instead? I'm definitely worse with the extra snacks when I miss a meal.

So, last night we had take away before our shopping order arrived this morning! But today dh and I have made a real effort and I have only eaten 12.5 ww points and have 13.5 remaining - woohoo!!!! I do realise however it is only half way through day 1... hope everyone else is having good saturdays so far...

silver28 · 22/08/2010 08:06

Hi everyone. I've had an awful week. Think my last post says something about going over my points but treating it as a blip, not letting it ruin my diet. Well after 5 days of eating everything in sight ('cos I'll be back on my diet tomorrow....') it's time to stop and get back on track. I'm so pissed off with myself but can't undo what I've done.

Might have gone on for longer but yesterday my parents asked how it's going so I lied and said it was going fine and I've lost 9 lbs (had lost 7 by last weekend, prob put about 3 back on). So now I need to really get back on track as can't keep lying - eventually they'll notice that my body isn't getting any smaller!

hendo77 · 22/08/2010 10:15

Oh silver, not that it will make you feel any better, but after my good half day yesterday had dinner at my parents which was fine but then on the way home dh and I got crumble, custard and a chocolate bar for pudding. None of which we needed - I wasn't even that hungry, and I know exactly how you feel when you say you can't undo what you've done. Trying again today to get back on track...

aristocat · 22/08/2010 15:34

never mind silver its hard to keep on the sraight and narrow Grin have yourself a fresh start on monday .......

MrsKitty · 22/08/2010 18:53

Bloody Hell, Silver Are you me? Grin. I've done the exact same this week - haven't tracked a thing since Friday, and have most definitely gone over my points every day- pub meal, buffet, picnic, chocolate. I could have made much better choices at all of them, but I didn't. It's like a slide-once I start, I can't stop Sad Angry.

Back on the straight & narrow for both of us in the morning, I think.

hendo77 · 22/08/2010 19:27

I will be joining you on the straight and narrow in the morning as I too have been down the slide this weekend...

I have been spectacularly bad by only tracking the 'good' things I eat this weekend and not at all today. Indian take away is ordered for delivery and tomorrow will be our 'fresh start'.

My promise to myself is that I am going to try and track my points properly all day tomorrow (and hopefully stay within them!!!)...

silver28 · 22/08/2010 19:44

Ha ha mrskitty I think we are living parallel lives! It was partly this thread and knowing that others are facing the same choices and challenges as me that helped me to get back on track.

Anyway, I was good all day today ( I hate that phrase but always seem to revert to it) and have kept within my points, so fingers crossed for a good week to come. Good luck to everyone else x

salizchap · 23/08/2010 01:28

Do you mind if I join? Last time I was weighed, I tipped the scale at over 16 st. I haven´t dared go near a set of scales again, but the tightness of my clothes suggest that I have put on a fair amount in the last year or so. It is really scary because my mum died at the age of 47 from a heart attack. I HAVE TO DO something. OK, unlike my mum I don´t smoke and I very rarely drink alcohol, but I am on my way to being bigger than she ever was.

So... as I said on another thread, I need to sort my head out, and I need inspiration and encouragement. I have bought myself a bollywood dance workout dvd (I tried it last year when it was shown on sky-and I liked it), and I have just tried it aout again after a year, and I am soooo unfit, I only managed the warm-up, one excercise and the cool down. :-(

phoenixflower · 23/08/2010 08:23

of course you can join salizchap, the more the merrier Grin

It's the small steps that help us all get to our bigger goals, as you keep doing the dvd you will begin to find the steps easier etc which will be a great boost.

I am going to try writing everything down today, whether it is healthy or not. Blush

hendo77 · 23/08/2010 10:17

Morning everyone! I have tracked my points so far today and am off to buy some bathroom scales this morning so I will find out how much I actually weigh. I might even come back and tell you to embarras myself into doing something about it as I reckon it will be shocking to me if written down in black and white!

Silver and MrsKitty are you both doing ww points?

MrsKitty · 23/08/2010 10:27

Hi Hendo - yes, I'm doing WW. Lucky for me I'm still breastfeeding DD, so I get an additional 5 points a day...am dreading the point that I lose those, but now that she's only having maybe 3-4 feeds in 24hrs I don't think it'll be long before I have to give up the extra points!

silver28 · 23/08/2010 13:05

Hi yes I'm doing ww too. Have managed a whole day and a half now back on track, well at least it's a start! Smile

hendo I would recommend telling people on here what you weigh (I also told my best friend in RL, tho couldn't imagine telling anyone else). I just feel that it makes it more real and helps mecto face up to it, rather than burying my head in the sand as I have done for the past 2 years.

mrskitty bf-ing is the best weight loss aid, isn't it?! I tried ww a few times while doing it and the weight fell off (well for as long as i stuck to the diet, it obviously wasn't a complete success!). Though being nearly 17 stone does mean that I still get plenty on points to use (I knew there must be some benefit!). Can't imagine how i managed on 18 points when I did ww a few years ago.

hendo77 · 23/08/2010 17:30

Right. I'm back with scales. 17 st 3 Blush. I have so far tracked everything as promised, started off well, but then after weighing thought it would be a good idea to finish off the two pork pies dh bought at the weekend in the fridge and some fudge we had left over from our holiday. So now I am 8 points over already and haven't even had dinner yet. However, I am still going to cook my healthy dinner that I had planned and am not going to make the rest of my evening even more of a write off.

backmeup · 23/08/2010 23:07

AshamedToBeFat · 24/08/2010 13:23

Hi guys!
I am a regular MNer who has namechanged for this thread.
I just got a Wii Fit, stepped on balance board today and was 'over the maximum weight'

This means I am over 23 stone 8 lbs Sad

I have had a big blub about it, and now my head is up and I am going to DO SOMETHING POSITIVE!

I would really appreciate all the support I can get

aristocat · 24/08/2010 13:32

Ashamed there is no need to feel bad, today is the day to change Smile what you eat and to feel better about yourself.

in June i was 15 stone 7 1/2lb and today i weigh 13 st 8lb.
willpower is the word we all need, and can help each other get and stay healthy.

madammcsneezypants · 24/08/2010 13:41

Can I join?? I lost a stone before the summer hols using the Wii Fit but haven't had time with the kids around all summer. I've managed not to put any weight back on but I still have 2-3 stone to go and I need motivation. My very critical delightful mil is staying with us in October and I want to see the look on her face when she can't slag me off give me helpful advice!

TINKERBELLE33 · 24/08/2010 13:48

Hi everyone can I join too please?

Not sure how much I need to lose but prob over 3 stone! Lost 3 stones 7 seven years ago with Rosemary Conley (got bored with Slimming World and put 1/2 stone on with WW Confused) but have put it all on and prob more since having 2DCSad Thinking of joining RC again but until then I'm trying to be good and be more active.

Well done everyone with the progress so far and good luck!

silver28 · 24/08/2010 18:47

Hi to all the new joiners. Hope you find this thread useful - I like the fact that I know other people are going through the same things as me (it can be easy to forget in RL and feel like you're the only one being 'deprived').

I also felt really motivated/ inspired when I saw a video on YouTube this week, by nick vijujic (I recommend you watch it if start feeling sorry for yourself). Made me remember that my fat is a minor (and self inflicted) issue in the grand scheme of things and if if bothers me (it does) I should get off my arse and do something about it.

MrsKitty · 24/08/2010 18:58

Ashamed - don't be ashamed! You've faced it and now you're going to do something about it. A positive attitude is a big help in managing to lose weight successfully, so maybe a different namechange (if you still feel you need to be anonymous) would be the first step... I'm sure everyone here has been ashamed about their weight at one point or another, but let's try not to be anymore.

MadameMcSneezy, I've just endured a visit from my hyper critical mum, the problem is she drove me to food last week! Need to change my thinking when that happens as I'm just cutting my nose off to spite my face, really. Have been back on track since Monday, so hopefully haven't caused too much damage.

Wow Aristocat- well done! Do you have much more to lose?

Hi Tink & all new joiners to the thread -hope things are going well for you

MrsKitty · 24/08/2010 19:00
