does anyone know of a high carb diet?

vickiyumyum · 19/09/2005 20:41

janbo25 if you do slimming world you can do just green days which is high carb, although they do advise you to alternate between green and red days, my aunty lost 6 stone doing just green days!

Janbo25 · 20/09/2005 08:17

is it measured portions though?

EvesBigFatMama · 20/09/2005 10:06

hi all

lost 1lb last fridat so 4 3/4 lb altogether in 2 weeks, but had bad week so far so its back on the porridge this moorning.

hope everyones doing well

sweetbean · 20/09/2005 11:07

well done hun xx

fishie · 20/09/2005 15:51

well done, that's really cheering and it's great you've lost for 2 weeks in a row. i haven't weighed for nearly a fortnight, will be very unhappy if have nothing to show for it.

my diet discovery is teriyaki sauce - really good marinade for mackerel, lean pork etc, steamed veg alongside and voila. could have rice too i suppose but am trying to avoid carbs in evening. as you can tell savoury things (esp cheese ) are my downfall.

vickiyumyum · 20/09/2005 19:11

not a lot of weighing with slimming world, just the odd thing, i tended to stick with things from the free food list (eat as much as you like within reason) and then pick and choose each day, obviosly taking into account that the more i ate the less i would lose.

fishie · 21/09/2005 11:54

my friend lost all extra weight on slimming world, and has kept it off for more than two years. but she is a very stubborn person and i think would have succeeded whatever method she used.

i am a waek-willed namby-pamby who thinks that eating a bit less will result in a miracle . i am swimming at least once aweek though and think my thighs may be shrinking.

sanchpanch · 22/09/2005 14:41

sanchpanch · 22/09/2005 20:51

i would weigh in boots, we get weighed at work every thurs on some wheelchair scales!!!!

I do need to buy a few things cause everthing to big but dont want to spend to much as i still have 2 stone at least to go, but feeling very positive about it, i have less to lose than i have already lost( if that makes sense)

EvesBigFatMama · 23/09/2005 09:50

got weighed just now...and have stayed the same!!!

take into account it my time of the month(excess water but also too much rubbish food) and..considering after 11 years of failing..i passed my driving test yesterday!!!..cue wine, half a massive toberlorone and dinner out..i am one lucky gal, so will have to watch it doesnt come up behind and bite me on the bum next week!

fishie · 23/09/2005 11:39

congratulations ebfm, really well done have you got a car? i can go to baby massage after all, so will avoid the boots horror. o dear trousers not feeling as loose as they did.

fishie · 23/09/2005 15:56

sweetbean · 23/09/2005 17:05

EBFM
well done hun thats fantastic xxxx

sunnyside · 23/09/2005 19:46

Evening all! Have been A.W.O.L. as we've been away for a week and DH was off previous week. I've not been very good, fish n chips etc on hols, but I'm refreshed now and full of resolve to not be the fattest Mummy at the school gate!

I'm gonna sit down and plan all my meals for next week as its when I'm at a loss or in a rush that I really go astray. Perhaps forward planning will help.

Glad to see most of you have been doing well and Congrats to EBFM for passing your test - that deserves a treat for sure! Careful that you don't give up walking though cos I piled on when I passed, its too easy to just jump in the car sometimes.

Dabihp - let's start again together.

Keep going girls, see you tomorrow!

dabihp · 24/09/2005 14:13

sunnyside, i am with you! start again today... could still lose 2 st by xmas if we lost 2lbs a week!

OP posts:
NoPearls · 24/09/2005 21:00

EvesBigFatMama · 24/09/2005 21:30

thanks everyone and well done to you all for either losing or even just trying cos i know how bloody hard it is!..actually lost 1/2 lb when i got on my own scales, but ill leave it at maintain and hopefully have a nice surprise next week..but then its off to centerparcs for long weekend..oops

sunnyside · 24/09/2005 21:45

Dabihp have you stuck with it today then?

Think I've been ok but the night is yet young!!! I might just go to bed - I can't eat while I'm sleeping! Can I?!

dabihp · 25/09/2005 13:27

i think its possible! lol, managed to do ok yesterday, and today so far, seem to be in the right frame of mind, keep munching on fruit.... whats your downfall? i am ok as long as i stay away from choc....

OP posts:
sunnyside · 25/09/2005 22:30

My downfall unfortunately is more or less anything!! I luuuurve bread though. I'm usually fine until I'm in a situation where I'm not controlling what I'm eating (dinner out or at friends etc), once I've slipped I tend to think sod it and everything goes astray.
