September 2026 new starters thread?

Hi all, I cannot find a new starters thread for September 2026 (did my first mounjaro jab today) Is there one ?

@Eyelashesoffire as I understand it, the bonus dose is now only available with the MJ 2.5 pens, and there is a bit of fiddling involved (see other comments in response to mine).

Caveats:

I have only ever used 2.5 mg pens; all I’ve seen of higher dose pens is photographs on here.

The methods various people use to extract the final dose can fail—it’s worth poking around on YouTube to see what you can see & choose the best option.

Did my third dose on Thursday, have lost some weight but started straight after a big holiday gain so not sure its real weight loss! Generally felt good, maybe a bit hungover. Today though I have eaten more than I have been doing - not as much as a previous Sunday, but still too much. Feeling super bloated!

Not sure what to do about next order, whether to go up to 0.5 wegovy or stick another month on 0.25. Not found side effects too bad but also could do with more suppression!

Hiya! I'm looking to start within the next week, so I might just sneak in as a September starter. I previously took wegovy and had awful side effects. So looking to try mounjaro now, but perhaps on a lower than 2.5 dose. Has anyone else done this?
Any one struggling with side effects on mounjaro?

im slightly anxious today about lack of BM but I think its stress as much as wli slowing my gut down. Sad family news this weekend and that always buggers up my gut. So drinking lots today and hopefully will get some progress.

Can I join please? I have my first appointment at a local pharmacy tomorrow to start MJ but honestly feel a little nervous.

Have you thought about using an online pharmacy? Pm me if you’d like a discount referral code for the one I use. I was going to ask my pharmacy about them but they inform your gp and my gp doesn’t ’believe in’ weight loss injections! 🙄 So I ordered from an online pharmacy instead who doesn’t inform your gp surgery. I can’t be doing with the rant from my doctor!

I have underlying health conditions so am going to a local pharmacy to start with as I like the idea of a monthly face to face check in, at least to start with. My Dr's have given the go ahead that they are happy though so fingers crossed

I started on 2.5 mounjaro last Monday, no side effects and definite suppression but I ate a slice of birthday cake on Saturday (it was divine) and being honest kept going back and having a teeny tiny bit more.
Yesterday the runs kicked in with a vengeance. Anyone else had that?

Only 2k down in 3 weeks, which is better than nothing but definitely feels slower with it being the second time. Going to go up to 7.5 with my next order and hopefully it will ramp up a bit

The good news is that I have no side effects, and while I'm getting hungry I'm getting full quickly. I know that slow and steady is best but maybe not this slow!

@LostThestral I felt very nervous but it's been surprisingly ok. What does your pharmacy do? I'm ordering online and I'm curious what face to face services provide.

It's my second week and I don't feel as much appetite suppression. What is very, very noticeable is the lack of 'reward' I'm feeling about food in general. I can just take it or leave it. Before every mouthful was exciting and delicious. Now it's just neutral. It's quite a revelation and I'm enjoying it! Also very noticeable that I'm not 'hangry' anymore. I can get hungry but it doesn't bother me as much. I wonder if that's about stabilising blood sugar levels?

It's a shame people's GPs aren't supportive. I saw my GP today and she didn't bat an eyelid! We just need to sort out my hrt as the slowed digestive transition will affect the absorption of the progesterone tablets.

Hi All, I started on 0.25mg Wegovy injection and after three weeks saw absolutely no difference in appetite so my advice bot told me to take two last Wednesday instead. I’ve noticed a difference now with the only side effects being a few waves of nausea so far. I am down five pounds in four weeks and still enjoying food. I’m very tired but I have also just moved back to shift work after two years of Monday to Friday so it could be a mixture of both. How is everyone else getting on?

Jab 5 and weigh-in 4 for me today and 3.4lbs off this week after a little stall last week, so very pleased with that.

I managed to get the golden dose out of my pen by twisting it hard. I was so nervous that it wasn't actually going to work when I went to inject but it was fine. I decided to stay on 2.5mg for my second pen and it looks identical to the first so with any luck I'll get an extra dose out of that too.

Continue to have minimal side effects, the worst one being an unpleasant taste in my mouth on waking. Other than that the mounjaro just seems to have enabled me to eat how I would want to in an ideal world. I enjoy my meals but have no desire to snack or buy rubbish. Feels miraculous!

I trust them more than I do one of these on line places & like the idea of being able to discuss any issues face to face with a monthly check & weigh in rather than just being sent the next dose.

I also have some health conditions & take medication that may cause them to say no so fingers crossed

Took the plunge to go up to 0.5 wegovy for the second pen as actually put on weight the last few days! And hunger very much back. Is totm tho!

Arrr on my fourth Wegovy jab at 0.25 (switching to MJ next week) and I seem to have stalled really since last week hovering back and forth between 159 and 158lbs. I think I've drunk less water. And although I didn't eat a lot of calories in last few days I've had a couple of glasses of wine and I suspect maybe there's some water retention going on... Bah humbug. I'm itching to get to 155lb as my first marker as that gets me into a healthy BMI zone and at pretty much a stone. C'mon lets get these four pounds off! Trying to be patient as I know slower is better, and consistency is the aim. I'm going on city break with friends in two weeks and it would be lovely to go feeling a little bit more 'body confident' so I'm using that as motivation for the next couple of weeks. Then I want to focus on shifting the poundage ahead of December so I can begin silly season feeling I'm in much better position to manage it such that the odd fluctuation won't feel like I've undone loads of hard work and good shape to begin 2027...

Have had 2 of 3 weekends away in a row, so happy with a stone loss in 4 weeks. Moved up to 5mls today, as not feeling as much suppression as I'd like, and also want to get the worst side effects out the way, which for me is bile acid (no gallbladder) and headaches.

I have my first pen! Think I will do my first injection on Friday evening so I have the weekend to deal with any side effects

Took my first 5mg dose today. Only lost 500g this past week so it seemed timely. Total weight loss in 4 weeks of 6.9kg though so definitely not sniffing at that. Will report back any symptoms but I'm hoping it'll be much of the same as the 2.5mg

Hello late to the party but looking for a group to chat with. Just taken week 5 jab and weight loss has been slow and quite rollercoastering. But have definitely been eating much less and moving more so is a bit frustrating. I think I need to have consistency of when I weigh like once a week in the morning maybe that would help?! And accept is early days.. Staying on 2.5 for now as appetite isn’t the issue

How are the other slow losers doing? I know I’ve chatted to a few on here.

I’ve just had my second 5ml jab. Weight loss hasn’t increased. I’ve lost 7lb in six weeks.

I’m working really hard on accepting this is the way it is going to be. I’m getting good suppression and I never eat more than 1400 calories. Usually it’s 1200 and it has been as low as 800.

I’m telling myself I’m less likely to experience hair loss and gall bladder issues associated with rapid weight loss. It’s hard to see all the amazing losses some people have experienced on here. Well done to you all!

I've just taken my fourth 2.5mg injection of MJ. I'm not loving how it's making me feel so going to stay on that dose for another month. I've felt quite naseous for most of the time. But also still getting sugar carvings so it's a bit of a miserable battle. But overall, keen to stick with it.

how long does it take after taking your injection for the nausea to kick in? Just working out when to take my first dose
