@GeraldThePufferSponge I’ve gained 2.2lbs this week. I haven’t really done anything different. I don’t think I’ve ever had a gain except when I’ve even on holiday and/ or off the jabs (neither of which I am now). But I accept weight loss isn’t linear, I’m actually feeling and looking skinner this week (in my opinion!) even though it’s not reflected on the scales. I take comfort in the fact that when I look at the data, my weight is going down, just not this week. I hope you get a whoosh soon! ☺️

Thank you! Ironically someone said to me I was looking slimmer too so I assumed it would be a big loss this week. I’ll stop throwing a tantrum worrying about it and concentrate on this next week. Thank you all for your support ❤️

When I did a few VCLDs years and years ago the mentors were insistent some weeks you loose inches not pounds 🤷‍♀️ so I’ve assumed it might be one of those weeks!

Wondering if I could get some sympathy/positivity… I’m so frustrated I could cry. I gained again last week 2.6lbs (which I don’t think I deserved) and lost 2.3 this week so a net gain across two weeks. But I’ve tried so, so bloody hard.

I’ve been to the gym 3-4 x week, calorie counted everything, cut out take aways, fizzy drinks, biscuits, crisps, sweets and prioritised my protein and fibre. I’ve cut the big majority of my alcohol intake (2 drinks a week now). When I’ve been out, I’ve eaten bloody salad instead of what I actually want off the menu. I’ve cut most of the UPFs out of my diet and slaved over home cooked meals made from scratch with enough cruciferous vegetables to sink a battleship.

And I’ve still gained in total across two weeks and I’m so frustrated by it. Am I doing something wrong? My TDEE is 3,000 calories a day so I’ve been eating 2,000 a day. I’ve put so much effort in that I’m a bit gutted to be honest! Has anyone else had weeks like this?

Im Sorry to hear this
I have no advice..I'm not loosing either at the moment
But I stand in solidarity xx

Springflowers2 · 09/09/2026 12:51

It has definitely come as a surprise to me how slow weight loss gets the nearer you are to target.
I'm stuck at 14 .9 .
Goes up to 15 ..then I'm battling to get back to 14 .9
I think I worked out BMI 25 is 12 stone for me ..ISH , something like that
Ugh ..how can I still have more to lose

TheZingyFish · 09/09/2026 17:02

Am here with those of you struggling at the moment. Weight loss has really slowed, half a stone in the last 3 months. I seem to be going up and down and I’ve been eating more and less healthy. I did move up to 12.5mg which has hit me hard with feeling nauseous and the suppression is higher but there is something in my brain where I’m almost eating through it at times. I’m still a way of where I’d like to be, hovering around the 16st mark in a size 20, whereas I think I’d like to be in a size 16. This is getting harder but I’m determined to beat this bump, I’ve worked too hard and spent too much to let it slide now. Think I need note fibre and more exercise, so those are my next missions.

PositiveAttitude · 09/09/2026 17:46

I am with you all too. I have been faffing around just above the 14 stone mark, going up and down more than a tarts knickers!!!

However, yesterday was my birthday and I was determined to see a 13 on the scales. And I did!!! I know I won't see it again for a while after the amount I ate and drank during my birthday celebrations!! But I took a photo and will aim to see it again soon and stay below.

14 stone was my ultimate goal when I started. In all my years of yo yo dieting I have never been able to get much below 14 and certainly never stayed below for long. I have always felt this is as far as my body wants to go. Now I am here I definitely want to lose more, but I know it's going to be slow. I just hope I can push through this barrier this time.
Has anyone else felt that their body seems to have a stop point and won't go beyond it?

@PearlsTeapoti love doing the 5 day jabs. It definitely works for me. I went down a dose to do it and it works well. No days of not being able to eat at all and then days at the end of the week when my body seems to make up for the lack of food and I eat too much.
It may be worth looking at doing this for those who are struggling with the side effects of a higher dose.

I went to the Dr earlier this week. He was incredibly encouraging about my weight loss and made me smile when he said, "so are you going to stop losing now"? I told him I was still well in the obese category and wanted to lose at least another few stones if I could. He was surprised and told me not to worry too much about BMI as he didn't hold much to the numbers. I thought that was quite interesting.

Yep
I think my body wants to stay at 15 stone .
I remember last time I was 15 stone and the nurse told me to be careful not to loose to much more ..
I think people underestimate what I weigh ..I've had people say to me at 14 ,9 you don't need to lose any more

user593 · 09/09/2026 18:02

I’m also bouncing around just under 15st 😅 I feel confident I’ll break through this rut at some point though.

PearlsTeapot · 09/09/2026 20:11

Me too stuck at the 15 stone point and have been for six months! Maybe 7 now. I've now hit 14.12 and it was such a relief to finally see 14 on the screen. I feel like my body is just happy here? I still feel huge, a lot of the time. I'm only 5 foot 1 so still very obese.

I am never giving up. I will see a 13 on the screen if it kills me!

Happy belated birthday @PositiveAttitude hope the celebrations were fun!

user593 · 09/09/2026 20:27

I’m 5’7, size 18, and feel very comfortable, I’ve also never really been below my current weight in my adult life so I was trying to figure out of it’s a mental block of mine or just natural stagnation. Perhaps given so many of us appear stuck at around the same point it is the latter after all!

Springflowers2 · 10/09/2026 07:34

Maybe weight gets stuck after loosing a certain amount,or being on weight loss injections a certain time .
I would literally have to starve myself to eat any less ..which I'm not prepared to do ,
Or do masses more exercise, which also it seems I'm not prepared to do
I've bought some lovely jumpers for winter from ASOS,really cheap,I got about 6 for £50/£60 ,and some nice trousers to go with them,...all size large or size 16
I bought dresses in the sale for next summer in a size 16 .
So I've plenty of clothes now that I feel nice in .
I suppose it's not the end of the world being around 14 stone 9
Certainly beats 27 stone that's for sure

user593 · 10/09/2026 07:54

I think I might go up a dose. The last time something similar happened I went up a dose and things seemed to get moving again, but I am a bit hesitant (not too sure why, maybe the fear it won’t work and then I have nothing!). I’m ‘67% complete’ (8st 2lbs down) though and still on 7.5mg so I’ve got some wriggle room.

My DP just said maybe this is just the weight I’m supposed to be but apart from anything else I’m still on blood pressure medication (although I’ve been able to half my dose) and I’d really like to not be. That was one of my original goals.

It's because people regard you as fat.
In their minds you're very overweight, and that's apparently what you're meant to be.

People can't compute us being thin. It's so weird.

Even now, with my BMI just under 25, people are telling me not to lose anymore weight. But the BMI scale would be happy with me being two stone less than I am now. That would make me a BMI of 20, so there would still be a possibility of losing even more.

I'm already a size 8 - 10. I don't actually want to lose more. I think people are regarding me as thin, at last. I didn't pay any attention to those who told me not to lose more weight, when I was still BMI 31.

We're all threat to the naturally thin people if we also become thin.

It's been two years and eight months for me now. And yes, the last two stone took a whole year. I know I keep saying this, but that is normal. You're all heading for the end of the race, and you're all slowing down, but you're all going to get there.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 10/09/2026 11:18

I do feel sad I got to over 50 before I decided to tackle it

You had to wait till then because the medication didn't exist before.
🤣

@Springflowers2 you're an inspiration. You've had so many struggles in your life but you've stuck with the weight loss journey.

I was 68 when I started on MJ and tackled my obesity. You've done better than I have from that point of view.

Sometimes I wonder what my life would've been like if I'd been thin, but it's pointless speculating.

TragicMuse · 10/09/2026 13:11

I sometimes wonder that too Broon.

But the people that matter have always loved me regardless. For me there’s no ‘what might have been’ because I would always choose whatever scenario gives me this life with them in it…

PearlsTeapot · 10/09/2026 13:39

I’ve been very lucky that nobody has ever been mean to me for being fat, nor do I think I’m treated any better now I’m smaller. Maybe I’m just unobservant 😁

Yes ..the medication..I forget Im On it .. probably because I've told everyone I'm of it ..I only remember when I'm on this thread ..it's just a normal part of my week injecting .
Yes .your right ..I absolutely couldn't of done it with out monjroro
Even today I'm battling against to urge to binge ..I haven't binged once since starting monjroro, but goodness knows I feel like I want to so many times

Yes it's always people who are just still a little bit thinner than me , telling me I've lost enough weight now .
I wouldn't dream of commenting on their bodies, yet because I've lost weight I'm fair game to be discussed and questioned

Springflowers2 · 10/09/2026 13:53

I remember the last photo u put up @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne ..I can't believe you were BMI 25 ..
BMI really wants us quite thin ,I think

I think my what might of been, were more experiences that I missed out on ..
That I was to scared of doing because of my weight
Always trying not to inconvenience anyone , trying to take up less space ,so ending up not going places or doing things
Sad really

I don't remember anyone being about my weight (well except as a child) but I have noticed that I have a lot more random friendly chats with strangers now (eg on holiday bumping into the same people at breakfast and having little chats, or when camping getting talking to ladies in the toilet block, or at dinner an old couple having a conversation).

That said I'm not sure if its that people's attitude to me has changed, or if they are picking up on my new found confidence and the fact I feel better about myself so I'm more willing to get involved in activities and conversations.

Janie934 · 10/09/2026 14:12

I'm another one whose weight loss has slowed. 0.5 pounds loss this week, 4 pounds over the last 4 weeks. For the last 2 years I was averaging 7-10 pounds a month.

I wondered if it may be weather related - its definitely colder so maybe my body is trying harder to cling on to weight for winter.

Or maybe its just the natural slowdown that occurs as you get closer to goal (2 stone 1 pound to get to bmi under 25).

I'm giving it one more week and then I'll shake things up. Either going to up steps by adding in a third daily walk, or try 5-2 (or maybe 6-1) with 1-2 lower cal days.

I'm the same. There's a lot of friends I lost touch with over the years because I was waiting to suggest a meet up until I'd lost some weight....except my weight was creeping up so I never wanted to meet.

Then there's the holidays I didnt book due to worries about seat sizes and the fact I love rollercoasters but have avoided theme parks for 20 years.

And finally the big one - children. We've struggled with infertility for years and I knew my bmi was too high for IVF so I delayed seeing a specialist until I'd lost weight. But sods law meant that when I saw the specialist they discovered I have cancer. IVF may still be a possibility but only if the treatment I'm on works. But best case scenario I'll be in my 40s so will have to privately fund and the success rates are lower.
