Hello all, didn't want us to get to the end of the first thread without a link to a sequel. Looking forward to seeing where we all get to in the life span of this thread.

ETPhoneHome1 · 16/07/2026 20:04

Hi all!
tried to post here last night but the app was playing up.
I’m now just below my original target weight, which I said I would readdress and see how I felt once there. I’d still like to lose another few kg I feel, 7 weeks until my holiday so will keep chipping away.

Darkspiderplant · 16/07/2026 20:26

Hello
I’m still plodding along. I’m on my 4th pen (I think!). I’m pretty certain this will be my last pen. I’m nearly at my goal (3lb to go) and I cannot afford any more. My plan is to have one more dose of 5mg, then spilt the last 2 doses into 2.5mg doses to ease myself off it.

I’m very concerned about stopping. This is my second go with MJ, I lost 2st in 2024 with it but then put 1st back on. I’ve got to a lower weight this time and I am happy with how I look just now for the first time in a very, very, very long time.

MoneyJo · 16/07/2026 23:22

Well done @ETPhoneHome1 and @Darkspiderplant
Jab day tomorrow for me. Second dose of 6.25. Seems ok so far.

Plumetti · 17/07/2026 08:07

Thanks for the new thread @MoneyJo. I’ve been a lurker on the previous thread, and just wanted to join in and say thanks for all the suggestions, support and common sense!

I started Mounjaro in March too;

Height 5’2”
SW 12st 2lb
CW 10st 7lb
GW 8st 12lb

I’ve been on 2.5 all along, but need to go up now I think as I’ve been hovering around the same weight for five or six weeks now. I’ve a mental block about going up a dose, but I’m going to have a go on 3.25 and see how that feels.

ShebaQueen · 17/07/2026 17:54

Hello everyone, weigh day for me and I am another 0.5kg down, that's 17kg in total which I am thrilled with.
Welcome @Plumetti, glad you have joined in the chat, and well done on your weight loss. I'm on 5mg and have been for a few weeks, I still get side effects for the first couple of days after jabbing, but otherwise it's working well for me.
Have a great holiday @Annex.
@ETPhoneHome1 and @Darkspiderplant I think you are the first in our group to reach target! I still want to lose quite a bit more, but am now fitting in a size 14 top and 16 trousers which feels amazing. I am in desperate need of new bras, am off to search for some tomorrow.
Have a great weekend all!

taratill · 18/07/2026 08:47

I'm so far off goal! Realised I'm approx 1/2 way to goal weight now.

Son was home again last night and we'd had a few glasses of wine and he was talking about my weight loss then said 'so long as you're not using the jabs'! I responded in defence of the jabs and then the penny dropped for him and he asked if I was, I told then truth, then he apologised for hurting my feelings!

I think the problem is that young people see celebrities who are taking 'thin' too far and make, incorrect, assumptions that the jabs make fat melt without any effort on the user's part.

So I gave DS an education. He's now cool with it, especially because of the health benefits and the fact that he can see I'm eating healthier and exercising more.

DD still doesn't know but she's oblivious to a lot of things.

taratill · 18/07/2026 08:51

@Darkspiderplant and @ETPhoneHome1 well done at getting to/ being near goal weight. Having read other threads I can see myself using MJ for a long time, if no other reason than for the miraculous cure of my IBS & reflux symptoms. @Darkspiderplant I can really understand your concern given your previous experience.

@Plumetti welcome to the thread, thanks for delurking, the more the merrier as they say! I went on 3.25 for a good few weeks before going up to 5 a couple of weeks ago. If you've stalled it's definitely a good idea to go up.

taratill · 18/07/2026 08:55

@ShebaQueen enjoy the bra shopping. Mine are very loose now but I'm trying to hold off a bit before buying new ones.

I bought a pair of size 14 trousers the other week because I have so few clothes that fit, I go heavy with charity bags and didn't keep clothes when I lost weight. I can get a way with it in the hot weather but think I'll need a new wardrobe when it cools down.

One NSV is that my tight but expensive walking waterproof coat is now fitting really well. Baggy walking coats are fine.

MoneyJo · 18/07/2026 08:55

Half way is exciting @taratill I reckon I'm a third of the way with about 5 stone still to go!

third of the way is great though @MoneyJo, just imagine where we'd still be without the jabs!

MoneyJo · 18/07/2026 08:59

Absolutely! I keep thinking I'll never get there then I remember that I am still losing!

OP posts:
ShebaQueen · 18/07/2026 09:13

Keep on keeping on @taratill and @MoneyJo, I'll be here on the thread for a good while yet too!
I have also been avoiding buying clothes, I do have some from the far end of my wardrobe that haven't fitted me for years that I can now wear, and I am definitely looking forward to buying new clothes when I get to goal weight. Isn't it amazing, we talk about getting to goal, and it's actually achievable and something we believe will happen!
Glad your son has recognised the benefits of the jabs, I think I have mentioned before that I have told all of my family and friends and several of my colleagues too, none of them have judged me, but actually Mounjaro is so life changing that I wouldn't care if they did!

taratill · 18/07/2026 09:18

@ShebaQueen I'm taking the view that if people ask I'll tell them. A lot of people could do with educating on how beneficial they are and that the health benefits massively outweigh the potential side effects for most people. Also the myth that they melt fat with no effort could also do with being dispelled.

You are 100% right that it is the belief that we can get to goal which is a game changer too.

I'm starting to sound evangelical, lol!
