Hello all, didn't want us to get to the end of the first thread without a link to a sequel. Looking forward to seeing where we all get to in the life span of this thread.

Oh ,and yes, we're all doing brilliantly @MoneyJo ! It doesn't magic the weight off, we still have to put the effort in.

Junmaro · 05/08/2026 18:48

taratill · 05/08/2026 12:46

What dose are you on @Junmaro , are you still losing?

@ShebaQueen great loss, and I agree with you about falling off the wagon. I've had a couple of 'treats' and off days but I know I can get back on it, which is liberating.

I’m only on 2.5mg, but am an anxious person, and was blown away by my first injection. I dropped way down by click counting, and have taken ages to get back up,to 2.5mg. I’ve lost 2 stone, but think I’m plateauing now. Am going to stabilise on 2.5 for next couple of weeks, and then start click counting up to 5 if nothing changes.

Junmaro · 05/08/2026 18:50

@taratill @ShebaQueen - in the past, once I’d had a treat day, it seemed to ‘spoil’ my momentum, and often would derail my whole efforts with weight going back on. Using MJ definitely liberates me from that thinking and behaviour.

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 05/08/2026 18:57

Well done @MoneyJo on your milestone! And everyone else as well. I agree @taratill about the depressing black baggy clothes, but I’ve worn them so long, I’m not even sure what else exists! I did download vinted a few months ago but found it too much to handle. So my current “plan” is to put off new clothes as long as possible and put money aside for some sort of consultation when I am nearer my forever body shape. Also need a haircut, but will wait until face settles. And I’m quietly enjoying feeling baggy in clothes than used to be a bit snug- do need new jeans increasingly urgently though. I have been so fat for so long that I have no idea. But looking forward to finding out - luckily don’t have to dress for work.

MoneyJo · 05/08/2026 22:53

I had a vinted delivery today - pair of size 16 trousers for autumn. I held them up and thought oh dear, bit small, perhaps I can get into them in the autumn. Then I tried them on just in case and they were perfectly fine!

OP posts:
ShebaQueen · 06/08/2026 06:44

That's brilliant @MoneyJo! Re thinking clothes will be too small, my friend who has lost over 6 stone on Mounjaro tells me that it takes time for your brain to catch up with your new shape and size. I've been shopping with her and she is still taking larger sizes into the fitting room to try on!

Beehivebabe · 06/08/2026 08:27

Hi everyone, sorry just catching up - this week has been manic, buying a new home is a tad stressful 😅

I completely agree @ShebaQueen
I see a slightly slimmer frame in the mirror but I think I still look so big in my holiday photos. And I’m wearing very baggy 22s, a bit baggy 20s, this week I bought a dress in a 18 which fits nicely. I really don’t want to buy too much tho as I don’t want to stay this weight either. Well done @MoneyJo on your size 16s!! Fab achievement!

@Junmaro you’ve done amazing on 2.5, I’m still on 5 but I’ve noticed hunger creeping in so may go up next time. Altho I am trying to ignore it too!

3lbs off for me this week so that’s 4stone 4lbs off. STILL waiting for someone outside the family to notice 😂

Dontlletmedownbruce · 06/08/2026 08:32

@SmallTreeDeepRootsI think the consultation is a good idea. Buy some basics until then though, looking good is one of the biggest motivators I think. Many years ago I lost a lot of weight for the first time, I was a little overweight since childhood and increased over the years so I had never chosen clothes based on anything but what would look more slimming or cover up. I found shopping completely overwhelming, I had never really developed a style or taste, that I was aware of. Obviously I had some preferences but it was mostly around rules, things I had read and found to be true in terms of most flattering colours and cuts for my shape. Dresses and formal wear were ok as i had always talked to staff for advice, but when it came to every day i was clueless. I booked a consultation with Debenhams and it was great, I tried on things I had never thought of. And still despite the weight loss some shapes and styles didn't suit my new figure at all. It took a bit of time at every season. All my life I thought shopping was something I'd enjoy when I lost weight and it was a bit disappointing to find this wasn't the case. Wearing nice new clothes was amazing though

CatsAreBetterThanPeeps · 06/08/2026 10:40

Goodness everyone is doing so well 🙌 I’m at 11.3 this morning but also day 2 of period which usually makes me weigh a bit heavier so maybe a lb or so lighter really. Either way, it’s put me to 24.9 bmi which is the 1st time I’ve been in healthy range for many years. And in a nsv I went shopping and bought jeans and tops in size 12. And they fit comfortably not on the tight side. I’ve got 1 final jab to take at the weekend and then hoping to lose a final 10-12 lb without. Bit anxious about going cold turkey and wondering if I should split last dose in 2? I’m on 5ml so could do 2 x 2.5 just not sure if that’s better to prevent giant hunger return at once. Any thoughts or advice appreciated 😊

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 06/08/2026 12:03

@Beehivebabe That’s an incredible loss! I can imagine people not noticing - perhaps they are trying to be polite? Fingers crossed you get some compliments soon!

@Dontlletmedownbruce Thanks - you’ve made me surer about trying a style consult. I honestly hate shopping because I’ve been fat forever and always hate how I look in anything. I’ve had a snooty “I’m above all that” attitude for so long as some sort of self-protection. But life would undoubtedly be smoother if I looked presentable and felt more confident in myself. So the mj is part (but a pretty major part!) of a whole life redirect, but without a cheesy life coach. Have you had your colours done? I was considering that as an interim stage. I am so clueless about these things - a complete lack of girl skills which has become even more noticeable now I have a teenage daughter.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 06/08/2026 17:15

@SmallTreeDeepRootsno never had a colour thing done. However I think I have a good idea about colours myself, some colours are awful on me some really suit me. I have two sisters which help a lot as they will always tell me if a colour or pattern suits me and they are never negative, they will just compliment. When they say nothing I know what they are thinking! I'd love a stylist, to not just shop for me but to organise and assign different outfits for different functions. I often struggle with combos like I have a top I like but don't know if it works with a skirt or trousers. Or I have a dress I like and no idea what shoes to wear. When I get to goal weight I'm going to seriously invest in a minimum but expensive wardrobe. Expensive shops have good sales staff who are usually really enthusiastic about styling someone so I'm going to save and have as much as I can put aside.

Beehivebabe · 06/08/2026 17:21

@SmallTreeDeepRoots. Thank you! Yes I guess people are being polite haha
I would love to get a stylist and colours done when I’m where I want to be. I follow a colour person on Insta but I never get the colours right! I think everyone looks good in everything clearly 😅
@CatsAreBetterThanPeeps Well done on your loss, and I think I would come off slowly when or if I get to that point so in your position I would do 2 x 2.5. Just my thoughts!

nickdrakeslovechild · 06/08/2026 23:13

Ive had good and bad this week.

Good is I am now 3 1/2 stone down so another stone and half to go! Someone I haven't seen in a while was shocked this week and kept saying how amazing I looked! Big big win. But, I am due to go on holiday and have absolutely no swimwear as always wore big tummy control suits with kaftans and now want to look good! I have ordered hundreds of pounds worth of stuff from so many different sites and everything is horrible so been returned. I am a 8 on top now a 12 on the bottom with a rather large mum tum and lots of saggy skin around my boobs. I feel so good in clothes but still look so awful in underwear and swim wear. I spent the last 15 years sat on the beach and sun lounger in a big cover up and now want to show off.
I guess it doesn't help that it's the end of the season. This holiday was what I was aiming for but feel crappy. Sorry, totally me me me rant but I want to feel nice and actually be able to go in the pool this year.

rockstarshoes · 07/08/2026 07:59

I’m coming in to do a happy dance! I went up to 7.5mg this week, 2 pounds off & total 2 stone gone forever! 🎉

@nickdrakeslovechildI feel your pain on the swimwear front! I’m away with friends at the end of September and looking for a new swimsuit.
@MoneyJo I too have had a jeans victory! Size 16 in the sale! 🎉
Feels so good!

Some amazing losses! Everyone is doing great!

MoneyJo · 07/08/2026 08:01

That's wonderful @rockstarshoes !

OP posts:
Plumetti · 07/08/2026 08:41

@rockstarshoes congratulations! Can I join your happy dance? 2 stone for me today!

@nickdrakeslovechild it’s a horrid dilemma, I hope you manage to find the perfect swimmers in time for your hols.

I’ve been slowly moving up from 2.5 to 3.25 over the past couple of weeks and it seems to have moved me past the plateau I was struggling on for the previous wee while.

I've still got at least another stone to go to take me to a ‘healthy’ BMI, but it seems achievable now. I only wish I’d been brave enough to start Mounjaro last year.

My biggest NSV is that my knees no longer bounce off my tummy on the exercise bike

I'm resisting the siren call of clothes shopping for the time being, but will need to buy new jeans soon and put new holes in my belts as my bum has reduced significantly and it no longer keeps my jeans up 🤣🙈

taratill · 07/08/2026 09:55

Morning losers! Good to see so many successes!

@CatsAreBetterThanPeeps what a wonderful dilemma to have. I think I'd taper down with 2 2.5 dosses. Please keep on posting to let us know how to get on after finishing wli. Being in the healthy range is such an achievement!

@nickdrakeslovechild well done on your loss! Good luck with the swimwear buying and showing off your new body on holiday.

@Beehivebabe hope the house hunt is going ok.

@MoneyJo and @rockstarshoes well done on your clothes victories.

@Plumetti I also wish I'd started MJ earlier.

@SmallTreeDeepRoots @Dontlletmedownbruce I had a colour consultation years ago. It was really good. Didn't stop me wearing black in a (failed) bid to hide the fat. I might start trying to buy clothes in 'my' colours when I finally take the plunge.

I ended up, by accident, in an outlet village yesterday while my DD was warming up for a cricket match and took a punt on size 14 jeans thinking that if I don't fit them yet I'll get there, and they fit but are snug so should last a little while and were half price.

I also bought a pair of running shoes with the bid of starting to slowly running again. Someone mentioned an app, I think it was on the last thread, which is better than couch25k, I stupidly didn't download it at the time, so if anyone could remind me that would be fab!

MoneyJo · 07/08/2026 10:02

Those jeans were clearly meant for you @taratill 😊

OP posts:
SmallTreeDeepRoots · 07/08/2026 10:34

Yay for the jeans!

@taratill The running app is none2run. Can’t recommend it enough! I have finished the initial programme and just running 30mins every other day before I start the next programme up. Just don’t overthink it - just do it!

Beehivebabe · 07/08/2026 11:34

Morning everyone! Great to read so many success stories, clothes wise, looks wise and fitness wise 🥰
@nickdrakeslovechild feel your pain re holiday clothes esp as autumn seems to be creeping in the shops. I ended up throwing a cossie In the bin on my recent holiday as the bum was so baggy! Next do lovely swimwear which fit well, M&S I find can be a bit short round the bum. My daughter gets loads of really nice stuff from SHEIN and so cheap! And some of it is from the UK so you don’t need to wait too long.
@taratill thank you! We have found our new home and had our offer accepted! Very exciting!

taratill · 07/08/2026 12:21

@SmallTreeDeepRoots Thanks, I'm going to start tomorrow. I'm impressed you're going every other day.

@Beehivebabe so glad you've found your new home!

Can someone please speak sense to me? DH and I are of to Stratford Upon Avon later to watch Kenneth Branagh in the Cherry Orchard and we're going to grab food first. I'm SO tempted to book a pizza restaurant. That would be stupid wouldn't it?????

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 07/08/2026 12:39

@taratill Jealous of you & Branagh again! If you want pizza, have pizza! Or salad & a flat garlic bread? Or is your DH a fine fellow who will let you have a small slice of his pizza while you have something else? If we eat before globe, tend to do Cafe Rouge round the corner. But haven’t for the last few years - I fell out with eating out so only do in extremis.

If you’d told me I would be regularly running and loving it 5 months ago I would have laughed my head off. But here I am. I missed my day last week because of a big family event and actually bombed home to get to the gym before it closed as I was just feeling restless without it. Staff were literally cleaning the floors around my treadmill as I was running and locked the changing rooms to make sure I didn’t delay them with a shower. They were quite nice about it though.

taratill · 07/08/2026 12:49

Ha ha, I've had a crush on Branagh since I saw him as Hamlet when I was 17!

DH is long suffering of me traipsing to see him in Stratford!

I may ask DH if he would share a pizza and salad!!

Lol. about you bombing back for the gym. I can't see me EVER doing that!

ShebaQueen · 08/08/2026 17:06

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Congrats to all, I'm loving the clothes victories, fitness wins and happy dances and I am joining in dancing today, another kilo off this week and I'm now officially in the overweight BMI range - only just admittedly, at 29.5, but I'll take it!

taratill · 08/08/2026 17:48

Amazing @ShebaQueen ! That really feels like such a milestone!

I decided against the pizza last night but still weighed 400g heavier this morning than yesterday!

We're going to have a bbq later, I'll be avoiding the burgers and sausages and stick to the full on protein options! I feel hungry today ahead of jab tomorrow.
