Thread 13 and we're still going strong! Everyone welcome 😊

We have kiwis, yoga, smart scales and hammocks and there is always room for new advice, top tips and whatever's on our minds!

Definitely back in the game @Darlinghag - good nutrition tracking!!

DottyMcDiet · 05/07/2026 13:29

Jab No. 60 due today and I need a bit of a re-set.

SW 128kg
CW 89kg
GW 75kg

I took my eye of the ball due to a birthday celebration and need to refocus and start logging calories and do some exercise. 🙄

I’m on 6mg of Mounjaro so have lots of scope to increase but no point doing that if I don’t get the basics right 🤦‍♀️

I went out for dinner last night and had the lion’s share of a bottle of wine so things can only get better!

Darlinghag · 05/07/2026 13:34

Hey @WeAllHaveWingsglad to see you are still here!! Well, I jinxed it as sun gone in here 😂😂 Congratulations on your anniversary and the maintaining! Mine is next month - 99th jab is today, I just worked out!! Mad at how time flies.

I’ve maintained this size approximately for close to a year now - I would never have done that without MJ. What a game changer!! If the prices could go down though, that would be nice 😎😎 maybe when the wegovy pill becomes fashionable or Reta comes on the market!

i agree on the not looking back - I try not to dwell on my less than enjoyable 20s and most of my 30s. I turn 40 in the next few months, I don’t want to move into that decade living like that again.

@HelenDenver

thank you!

WeAllHaveWings · 05/07/2026 13:48

@Darlinghag I have been fortunate that most of my weight loss was still on the pre-price hike pens, and the post price hike has been on lower doses and pens used for 6-8 weeks so has been very manageable financially. In 24 months I am only on my 16th pen.

I emailed and fessed up to my provider (SD) on Friday that I had been taking 3.75mg for most of my treatment and I had built up 4-5 pens in the fridge and for advice on how to move forward from there. They have said they can support a break in prescribing but to book a consultation call for a chat first. Fingers crossed that will be ok and I can get a few months off orders, especially now as dh (self employed tradesman so no sick pay) is off work for a few months after a recent health scare. Ideally I'd like to see him try WLI in a few months once he has recovered, but he doesn't seem keen........... yet 🫣

BridgeBurners2ndArmy · 05/07/2026 14:03

I've been lurking on this thread for ages - I'm down over 5 stone, but still have another 3 to 3.5 to go. Need to put a bit more effort in tbh, having been on 15mg for well over a year I can't just rely on the injections, more's the pity.

@MooBaggage How was the new hairstyle?

I took the plunge last Thursday and went short and spiky, having had a layered bob for 18 years, and then long hair before that. I'm LOVING it! Went out with my daughter to a cool area of Nottingham on Friday (Sneinton Market & Hockley for anyone local), and for the first time in years actually felt visible in shops, rather than "oh she's just the mum, we can ignore her". Also got my ears re-pierced so I can show off some lovely earrings (eventually), as I've not bothered for years due to ears being covered by the bob. Bonus is that I'm going to a festival as a wood elf in a couple of weeks, and short spiky hair is perfect for the costume!

Darlinghag · 05/07/2026 14:07

@WeAllHaveWings oh well done! I’ve stuck with asda throughout, and have been buying 15mg pens back even when I was on 10, to eek out doses and save money overall. And then to not get in trouble with Asda I have been ordering 5-6 week in between - enough to not get flagged but also allows me to stretch my stash out a bit. I do have two pens unused though and need to order again next week 😂😂

i feel like the price must drop a bit again eventually - with more competition and varieties around.

SecondCircuit · 05/07/2026 20:52

26 in London and Wimbledon tennis in full swing. Can’t wish for a better weather. I’m still on best behaviour in terms of food but not so well with drinks.

I am happy with my loss, on my 40th jab, 5mg for some time (I was on 2.5 for really looong) but wondering how to approach the next stage.
Would you mind sharing @WeAllHaveWings how long you’ve been maintaining and how often you take jabs now?
I dropped my initial provider some time for another one that should let me order less often. Haven’t tested it yet though and not sure if I should order higher dose? then microdose ? as fridge space also needs to be considered.

I don’t have much idea how maintenance works. A friend who’s been with private doctor 1 to 1 appointments for more than a year says he’s been advised he can just drop jabbing whenever he wants and get back if he notices the weight creeping back.
Not convinced.

MooBaggage · 05/07/2026 21:08

Lovely to read all the posts!

I'm a bit glum at the moment - I've lost 3lb of the 4lbs holiday weight but can't seem to shift the pesky 4th lb, never mind lose more. I know it's not been long, but when it gets like this it feels eternal 🙄

My eating has also not got back to normal after the holiday - I'm struggling to get back to small portions, low carb etc. I'm feeling a bit out of sorts having just had my 2nd cataract op too - so e.g. got through a packet of biscuits in a couple days, which I haven't done for the past 18 months 🙄

I'm wondering about moving up to 15mg for this last push to hit a healthy BMI - 9lbs to go but seems so far away at the moment.

On a more positive note, I love my new hair! It's very short!! I feel like me again, after a very long time of feeling frustrated at how I look 😬👍💪💪💪

OP posts:
MooBaggage · 05/07/2026 21:09

I also can't do weights or yoga for 2 weeks because of the cataract op, so feeling like I can't help myself get back to the good habits I need to have. Eugh.

Jab day tomorrow, so am thinking 15mg might at least make me feel like I'm being pro-active and back on it!

WeAllHaveWings · 05/07/2026 21:30

@SecondCircuit , been maintaining for 6 months now. I am taking 2.5mg weekly from my 5mg pens so they are lasting 8 weeks (too nervous to use the excess liquid for another 2 weeks to take to 10 weeks although I suspect it would be absolutely ok - I have always been a bit risk adverse).

I have been ordering originally from Oushk, and now from SD every 6 weeks with no issues, but have still built up a stock of 4 unused pens which will last at least 4x8=32 weeks. If SD allow me a decent break to reduce it a bit I’ll be happy, then I can try for another break next year………

i have been considering dropping further to 2mg the 1.7mg, but have had a bit of a stressful time at home recently, plus have an HRT review in a couple of weeks where I will probably ask for an HRT increase, so waiting for all that to stabilise before making any MJ changes. It would be good to get to a lower dose such as 1.7mg so when I do start reordering 2.5mg with SD I can stretch a new style pen to 6 weeks to keep costs down.

Onegramatatime · 05/07/2026 21:38

@MooBaggage , so sorry to hear you are feeling glum.
"My eating has also not got back to normal after the holiday - I'm struggling to get back to small portions, low carb etc." I hear you with this. It can feel disheartening and (for me) a fear that 'I may not lose weight afterall' even though I have lost..i have been losing.

In the last 18 months, you have been losing weight you have been losing weight. This is just a bump in the road. You had surgery, it doesn't matter how major or minor the surgery is, it takes it out of you. Your body is demanding what it needs right now. If you can't workout, how about increasing your steps. Change something you can handle right now, that effort to make one change usually triggers the getting back in the game.

Whatever you do or don't do, know that this is a phase. It will pass.
Give yourself another week of recovery before deciding on increasing to 15mg. What do you think?

MooBaggage · 05/07/2026 21:51

Thanks @Onegramatatime - I know you're right! I really do need to increase my step count - seems so silly that a cataract op has had me feeling so tired since I had it done on Wednesday! I've not wanted to do much at all...

So - yes will wait another week and try to get out more this week for strolls 👍💪💪💪

Thanks again for the encouragement - much appreciated!

SecondCircuit · 05/07/2026 22:05

@Darlinghag - 40 is nothing! Some best years ahead of you!

I try not to be bitter but really wish my weight loss had happened 5 years ago. So many lost opportunities. But I guess each of us would wish it earlier and not much point in dwelling on that.

Got back home with DH. Lovely day. Can’t drink any more, but hungry and would happily join him at the table having what he maintains is “a late lunch” (yeah, right, the 4th one..) but resisting bravely.
Life’s not fair🤬

SecondCircuit · 05/07/2026 22:37

Thank you so much @WeAllHaveWings .

It’s very helpful to see how others do maintaining, hear it attested that it works and hope it can save some money in the

I will try ordering every 6 weeks and go back to 3-2.5mg.

@MooBaggage - I‘m going to reciprocate your kind words to me when I was feeling discouraged and doubtful.

There is time for effort and extra push and there is time for relaxing rules. It’s been hot, you’ve had surgery - always inflicting trauma on the body - don’t think now of missing yoga, weights or steps!
Just take a break, be kind to yourself and enjoy your new hairstyle🙂
Everything will fall into place soon and at the right time.♥️

Onegramatatime · 06/07/2026 07:48

@MooBaggage , how are you feeling today. Are you back to work? Or still off-sick?

Just checking in to say hi. And to say, congratulations!! on your new haircut. I am really glad you are loving it. I forgot to mention about your hair yesterday.

Increasing your steps is a low effort endorphin producing activity. You will still be doing something towards your goals so you will feel less glum. It doesn't feel like you have lost momentum and therefore easier to ease back in to smaller portions, yoga etc.
You will be back to your full self. This phase will pass.

Hope you are still off-work and have something nice planned for yourself today, it's looking like a beautiful day.

I trust your son is supportive (he has moved back in for a small period? Hope i am remembering right).

(Edited for spellings and a missed word)

HelenDenver · 06/07/2026 07:55

@MooBaggage an op is an op!

Your body will be shocked by the process and squirrelling emotional and physical resources to heal. Get some little strolls in, if you can, but for the benefit of vitamin D and breathing fresh air ❤️

MooBaggage · 06/07/2026 08:14

Thanks for the lovely messages - honestly this group really is the bees' knees when life seems a bit gloomy!

I'm back at work today - but WFH this week and will take breaks between the endless screen time to give my eye a break, as I found the Teams meetings were the most difficult thing after I had the first one done 🙄

Feeling OK - will heed advice and try not to get too impatient at the lack of progress for the next week or so! I've got chicken pieces out of the freezer this morning to cook in soy sauce and honey later today so I've got cooked chicken for salad lunches this week. King prawns on the menu for dinner tonight with ds2 which will be lovely 😃

ds1 has been ace, bless him, and is even better this week because he's away on holiday with his girlfriend, so I have a very peaceful, quiet flat until next weekend 😀

Onwards and downwards, losers! 💪💪💪

I'm glad your recovery is going well, @MooBaggage, and here's to more energy in the next week or two as you feel more comfortable and are able to rest and exercise more.

HumBumBum · 06/07/2026 19:17

Hi all, it’s been so long I lost you 👋

Good to see everyone’s updates. I’m sorely tempted by the Wegovy tabs, especially as the cost is less than half of MJ. I just want to lose a bit more on MJ (still lucky enough to have old style pens in the fridge) then maybe go onto tablets for maintenance

HelenDenver · 07/07/2026 08:38

NSV - last night I became one of those people who had “just one square of dark chocolate” and easily put the rest of the bar away. I thought they were a myth 😀

LetitGoDLP · 07/07/2026 17:19

@HelenDenver well done, that’s a good club to join! I’m in the avoidance camp otherwise I’ll scoff an entire bar. Haven’t had one since starting and not sure I trust myself although I don’t fancy chocolate currently so that’s good.

nailslikeknives · 07/07/2026 18:34

Love a bit of dark chocolate! Have you seen the tiny individually wrapped ones from Divine? V g for portion control. I get them from Amazon

😆this made me laugh!
Congratulations! It's a really impressive club to join.

Love this, sounds like a really supportive little community. Everyone’s at different stages, but those shared tips and small wins really make a difference. I use Wegovy, and I’ve found being part of threads like this really helps keep things consistent and motivating.
