Thread 13 and we're still going strong! Everyone welcome 😊

We have kiwis, yoga, smart scales and hammocks and there is always room for new advice, top tips and whatever's on our minds!

Hi @wendyla and glad it's going well! Good idea to have small targets - I tend to have mini targets of 3lbs or so, as that's roughly 1/4 of a stone and I'm losing about that much each month these days, so every few weeks I feel like I've hit a mini milestone - much easier to cope with than very big, far away targets!

Could not agree more! You’ve done so well - I’m channeling your success!

LetitGoDLP · 30/06/2026 13:17

@MooBaggage can recommend texture powder for your hair, it works wonders! Had a dry look too so you don’t notice it and brushes straight out.

HelenDenver · 30/06/2026 13:49

Work buffet lunch wasn’t too bad - they had haddock and sweet potato mash so I went for that. And the Eton Mess (which I would normally love) wasn’t tempting!

Much easier to navigate than the last one I went to which was sandwiches and pizza!

Doesn't it make you realise how much social events revolve around carbs?

As a coeliac, work-type lunches were always the worst meals in terms of eating as it so often is based around sandwiches/pastries!

These days I don't care and there's way more gf stuff available, but pre-MJ it always annoyed me!

OP posts:
MoneyJo · 30/06/2026 19:47

Yes! I went low carb a year before I started MJ and sometimes it was really hard to find things to eat at a lunch.

Onegramatatime · 01/07/2026 06:50

MooBaggage · 30/06/2026 08:36

@Onegramatatime Yes that's exactly it! I can't decide if I'm now more shallow and vain since losing weight, or just enjoying having a different shape and one thing really does lead to another...! I'm Vinted obsessed - out of necessity as am 5 clothes sizes down so couldn't have afforded to buy new all the time, but it's now an addiction and I have more clothes in different colours and styles than I've ever had. That's led to stuff like thinking about my hair and just making more of an effort now I don't have just 3 x huge tops in the same style that I used to put on because nothing else fitted and I hated my body.

Very exciting re: your braces - how long do they take to 'work' and do you wear them all the time?

Welcome @wendyla . Welldone on your losses so far. How are you finding it? Any side effects? Are still on 2.5mg? Wishing you more success as you go.

@HelenDenver , your work lunch sounded quite nice haddock and sweet potato. At one of my previous jobs, what's on offer at work lunches was dependant on who is in charge of organising the food. I thought we had a set menu/policy. I remember going in to one work lunch, after years of costco sandwiches, pastries, apples and crisps, we walked into three different curries, rice, potato wedges, quinoa, pesto pasta, three different salads. No apples, no crisps, no pastries. We were all stood for some seconds not knowing what to do. It was so funny. And of course when the organiser was changed, we got something different all over again.

@MooBaggage , I have about 20 aligners to wear. Each aligner is worn for 10 - 14 days. And they are worn for at least 22 hours each day.

My front teeth, protrude and I have gaps in my teeth. When younger, the one in the very front was cute. Now i am older it's been getting wider, (same with the other gaps) and they are turning my smile from cute/beautiful/lovely to menacing or crazed depending on how wide & happy the smile.
😆 Sorry, i have just had to laugh but it's true.

I don't know if it is vanity but I have come to think I deserve to look as nice as I want to or is possible. Life is for living and now that I feel I can partake, i want to partake fully.

MooBaggage · 01/07/2026 07:17

@Onegramatatime that's ace! And quite right 🥰👏👏👏

2nd cataract op for me today. Not looking forward to it, but at least its a quick procedure. And then I will have 2 x bionic eyes 😁💪💪💪

HelenDenver · 01/07/2026 07:34

Good luck and heal well @MooBaggage

@MooBaggage the work lunch was actually tasty for once, I was pretty impressed!

ETA I’m also working ( in a really nice way) on other self care stuff, doing skin care nearly every day with nice products and binning any I don’t like rather than slogging through them just because they were in a gift set from
aunt Edna three years ago or whatever.

Onegramatatime · 01/07/2026 16:47

Hi, @MooBaggage . How did the op go? Wishing you a speedy recovery.

MooBaggage · 01/07/2026 18:09

@Onegramatatime all good thanks! My eye is sore and it's not a pleasant experience, but only 10 mins of weirdness and then it's all done 😀

I've slept most of the day and am still tired, so am depressing myself watching the football and then am off back to bed!

OP posts:
HelenDenver · 01/07/2026 18:58

Glad op went well and you are resting up MooBaggage!

NSV - the cellulite on the front of my thighs is definitely looking better. Whether that’s the few lb of weight I’ve lost so far or the fact I’m drinking 2-3 litres a day of water and hydrating my skin, I’ll take it :-)

LetitGoDLP · 01/07/2026 20:28

@HelenDenver thats great you are seeing changes already! Must be a good boost too.

SmeII · 01/07/2026 20:32

Anyone mind if I jump in without currently having 5st+ to lose? Think I was on some of the earlier threads.

I’ve lost 10st on Ozempic and Wegovy. Have plateaued in the past four months and am now determined to lose the last stone. Just really need to kick that biscuit habit.

Best wishes for surgery recovery, @MooBaggage

Bunnyjo · 01/07/2026 21:46

Found you all!

Wishing you a quick recovery from surgery @MooBaggage. Sounds like you're seeing great results already @HelenDenver - the self-care aspect is so important. Welcome @SmeII, I am sure I speak for all when I say everyone is welcome here - I have reached my target, but I continue to read and post as the support, advice and sometimes a good ol' kick up the bum I have received from the ladies on here is invaluable!

SW: 15st 5.5lb
CW: 8st 13lb
Loss: 90.5lb
Current BMI: 22.15
Target Weight 1: 12st 1lb (overweight BMI) - Achieved!
Target Weight 2: 10st 1lb (healthy BMI) - Achieved!
Target Weight 3: 9st 5.5lb (6st loss) - Achieved!
Final Target: 8st 8lb - 9st 1lb - Achieved!

I am weighing myself less frequently now, so I got a heck of a surprise when I was 8st something on the scales this morning - I don't think my weight has started with an 8 in over 20 years!

I feel really good in myself right now - I have wibbly-wobbly bits that need to tighten up, but surely that is to be expected after two children and losing 42% (yes, forty-two percent!!!) of my starting body weight. Lots of NSVs too; I went to the Foo Fighters gig at Anfield this weekend and instead of worrying about the seats or feeling breathless going up the stairs, I was able to just enjoy the performance - it was so liberating! The next NSV was when I asked the very young and gorgeous 20-something woman on the official merch stall what size t-shirt I should buy, she looked me up and down and said, "Small, definitely small!" That felt almost as good as putting on said small t-shirt in the toilets and it fitting perfectly (if not a teeny bit big)! My ego was well and truly boosted after that 😂

The gym is definitely helping in the toning up and de-wobbling department, so that is my focus now. As I am within my target range, I have increased my food intake, but I am still losing at about 0.5-1.5lb a week so I think I need to increase a little bit more. I think this is going to be the tough bit for me - working out how much I can eat to maintain, but not put weight on and I haven't quite cracked it yet. I've tapered down the MJ dose a little more to 7.5mg every 10 days, which should help and I will taper down again in 2-3 weeks depending on how I do at this dose.

Darlinghag · 02/07/2026 10:09

Glad the op went ok @MooBaggage!

I’m in the midst of week 1 of Operation Get Back on Track, and its going well.

I’m fully in the game, meal planning and monitoring my macros. I’ve found I’ve gotten into a nice habit of sitting with my cuppa and evening sweet treat (like I used to when doing well!) and planning my next day out. and I am getting much more fluids in!

I’m also feeling the benefits of MJ more when I eat right in the first place! Much less food noise when I am feeding myself properly!

My new favourite meal, for those not on glp1 tiktok (especially the US ones!) is the sweet potato, mince, cottage cheese meal. Sounds weird, really is delicious!

Sweet potatoes are cubed and airfryed in a little olive oil and chosen seasonings, and then 5% mince cooked in a fajita style seasoning and a littlw water to stop it drying out (although I have seen many takes on the flavour!), served with a hefty dollop of cottage cheese and hot honey drizzled on top! I air fry green beans with garlic too, and then add a sprinkle of M&S top that seasoning - basically crispy onion mix!). My large portion Sunday (right before jab time so was on the hungrier side than the rest of the week!) was 595 calories and 46.2 grams of protein!

i’ve eaten it twice this week already!

my local shop sells Longley farm cottage cheese and I think I will sell them out the rate i got through it 😂😂

MoneyJo · 02/07/2026 11:17

Sounds good @Darlinghag I have a new found love for cottage cheese since starting MJ.

Oddly, I also have a new found love for apples! I have one or two a day and really savour them like they're a huge treat!

taratill · 02/07/2026 11:30

Just jumping back on to this new thread, I posted a bit on the last one then lost track.

SW -15 stone
CW - 12 st 13 lbs (so close to first goal weight!!)
GW 1 - 12st 11lbs ( top of overweight bmi)
GW 2- 10 st 9lbs (top of healthy)
GW 3 - 10 st (the weight I was when I got married 23 years ago!)

SecondCircuit · 02/07/2026 13:02

Whenever I read of a 10st loss I think it’s absolutely crazy to achieve. So well done @Smell!

I’m firmly back on track after our holiday indulgence and my weight gain seems to be gone (as @MooBaggage kindly reminded me and predicted!).
Not sure how just 10 days of my food and drink regime have already erased the 2 weeks of eating freely, but since the scales now show clear loss for the third day - I will take it as a win.

My BMI is now 24.8, I’m feeling good and confident (even typing it feels strange- I’m not used to admitting to feel confident..).
I also think that people tend to behave differently. I feel more noticed now when I’m „normal” and that others more often engage with me?
Perhaps it’s also summer/great weather factor: lively atmosphere everywhere, Wimbledon, football, holiday time so everybody is in a better mood. Anyway, it all feels quite exciting and every day I’m pleasantly surprised that whatever I choose to put on looks good on me. Quite liberating, after years of being condemned to tent-like versions of everything.

SW 15.5 st
CW 10.5 st

9 months on MJ.

Ideally, still a bit to lose.

HelenDenver · 02/07/2026 13:24

Great work on post holiday reset and that BMi number @SecondCircuit

MoneyJo · 02/07/2026 16:16

I agree @SecondCircuit I started with 8 and a half stone to lose and couldn't imagine it was even possible. I've now lost almost 3 and a half. I reckon I can get close to losing the other 5 eventually if so many people on these threads can. It's really inspiring.

Questions1234 · 02/07/2026 17:41

Hi all. Thought I’d check in and say hi. I’ve lost around 55-56kg since Jan 25, and have been aiming to maintain within a 2kg window since Easter. I’m finding my weight is drifting down still, despite aiming to maintain. Probably because I’m exercising loads (replaced dopamine hit from food with exercise). So think I need to reduce my dose from 7.5, but a bit scared to as the food noise is hovering around the edges. All a learning game!

Just an encouraging word to those who are earlier on in their journey… I never ever thought I’d get to this size or fitness levels when I started. I focussed on small, manageable changes (especially around building up activity), and short term goals, rather than ultimate goals (mainly because I had no idea at all what I was aiming for). Try to remember it’s usual to have stalls and feel discouraged… just try and focus on back to basics (increased water, protein and fibre), and (this bit is hard!) try not to compare too much!

I love reading everyone’s updates and experiences- keep them coming!

HelenDenver · 05/07/2026 06:12

That’s lovely to hear as a newbie @Questions1234

Darlinghag · 05/07/2026 12:27

Hello everyone. Been back in the game for a week now, and I have lost 3.2lbs!

SW - 21st
SW on MJ - 18st 7lbs (ish!)
CW - 12st 12.4lbs

its been so much nicer - remembering that eating right on the jab means it just WORKS so much better. I am on 12.5mg and am actually thinking it might be a touch too high. I haven’t felt hunger all week, at any single point, although after day 2, the suppression is not so intense I cannot eat at all. However, I will stick to the dose for the month and see how we go.

hope everyone is ok, and enjoy the sun!

WeAllHaveWings · 05/07/2026 13:12

Taking my 104th injection this weekend which officially takes me to my 2 year Mounjaro anniversary and 26th week / half year anniversary successfully maintaining around BMI 24-25! 🎂

Looked back at my pharmacy starting photo today when I was 9st 12lb heavier (a whole other person!) than I am today as a reminder of how far I have come with the help of this treatment and also with a bit of melancholy for the decades wasted morbidly obese.

I won’t dwell on it; there’s no point looking back when the future is here today. Good luck to everyone still on this thread, whether you’re continuing your journey or just starting out on your own path toward a new brighter future. 😎

Pishin' doon 🌧️and 15 degrees here in Scotland @Darlinghag 🤣 Waiting for a break in the rain to put on a jacket and try to get some dry-ish steps in! Enjoy your sun! 🌞
