Love the shoes @MooBaggage! Yes, one good reason to enjoy slimmer us is dressing up, going out, showing off. It’s fun that shouldn’t be rationed or postponed. So get your bf and get busy socialising this weekend!

And welcome back @Bunnyjo . Gosh, I remember when you achieved your healthy weight ages ago, but you must be still losing if you’re currently 7st 11. Are you still injecting in some shape or form?
I’m curios as I have achieved my final original target of 60kg (I don’t think I should go lower considering my age- late 50.) but don’t dare give up MJ yet.

I recall vaguely that some reported still losing even after they’ve reduced doses considerably. Probably cumulative effect of MJ in the system and delayed body’s response.

Anyway, keep focus ladies and you’ll keep losing. All those small achievements will add up and you’ll soon be Christmas ready with slimmer happy selves♥️

I love this @SecondCircuit I am 5 stone down (not all MJ) with 3 and a half stone still to go but I am loving wearing new clothes and knowing I might still look fat but I look so much better than I did! I'm not waiting til target to feel confident.

HelenDenver · 24/10/2026 09:06

Saturday weigh in and BMI is 35.0. Was hoping to just nudge under but I am still v pleased as I started my journey at BMI 40.

Halfway to “overweight” 🥳 🥳

HelenDenver · 24/10/2026 09:07

And yay for everyone dressing up in fabulous outfits!! I have a black tie do coming up and I had better see what fits me from the wardrobe…

SecondCircuit · 24/10/2026 09:16

Absolutely @MoneyJo! Spot on. No time to wait, we should embrace each and every stage with the same excitement.

I remember very well my joy before last Christmas when I had been only 2.5 months into this journey with just over 2 st loss. I was awfully happy to be size 16 and was overjoyed to be able to buy some new clothes and see a different person in the mirror. We spent Christmas with DH’s family abroad who didn’t particularly notice or comment but I explained it to myself that perhaps they never noticed much the stage when I got rather fat, and still remember me and think of me as slimmer? 😁 ( a bit pushing it, after all, we see them every year..😅).
It didn’t matter very much, I was very happy with my progress, it was tangible, and I saw and felt the difference myself.

5st loss is very impressive @MoneyJo no matter how much you think you still have to lose. 👏

Hello all. I have been lurking in this board for a few weeks since starting MJ. I would love to join you.
Stats as follows:
Age 60
SW: 15st 6lb
CW: 13st 10lbs
TW: 8 st
Height: 5ft
I started MJ in October 24 at my heaviest and persevered for 6 weeks. I had some side effects that I realise now I could have tolerated, but my husband was adamant I stopped. I think it was early days with the drug and there was a lot more negativity in the news etc and he was really worried and not supportive . I went solely on to Fast 800 and did get down to 13 st 2. I have slowly climbed back up to 14st. I have decided to go back on MJ as it worked well to take away any food noise for me and I had a much more positive attitude to myself. This time I have not told my husband yet. I have had 3 weeks of 2.5mg and lost 4lbs. I am just ordering my 5mg pen and will go up to3.75 for a few weeks as I remember it was the jump to 5mg that was the undoing factor for me.
This seems such a supportive thread and it is wonderful to read all the success stories.
Sorry for such a long post. I haven’t really told anyone I am doing this.

HelenDenver · 24/10/2026 09:49

Welcome, @IlovetoKnitandRead we can be your support team!

My husband, kids and a couple of friends know but I am not generally telling people. If I need to, I will say that I am eating low carb (as that’s how it has worked out for me anyway in terms of what I want to eat!)

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 24/10/2026 09:59

Hi @IlovetoKnitandRead ! I too have a DH who worries a lot about medicine side effects generally so I haven’t told anyone in real life. It is lovely to have supportive threads like these.

MooBaggage · 24/10/2026 13:31

Hello @IlovetoKnitandRead and wow - you have done incredibly well so far - amazing!

It was moving to 5mg that made me the most nauseous - I had a few bumpy weeks and then moved very slowly up doses after that, so going slowly up to 5mg is a good idea!

I've told absolutely everyone about the MJ 😀 I'm quite evangelical about it, as it makes me cross that not enough people understand the benefits of it and it's still wrapped in a bit of shame, so I'm out and proud - but get that this isn't for everyone 👍

I'm playing in my orchestra concert tonight and have got an ace black velvet top to wear 😀 Vinted, obvs, but I love it and it shows off some actual bones 😬

That's wonderful @HelenDenver, under 35 is just around the corner!

Cheesecake53 · 24/10/2026 16:19

Welcome @IlovetoKnitandRead! Have you looked at https://monj.co.uk/discount-mounjaro-price-list/ for pharmacy’s prices? I switch every month and it takes only a few minutes to register but it saves me a lot. Currently the cheapest 5mg pen costs £120.00.

After 11 weeks on 2.5 without any side effects, I went up to 3.5 and had strong fatigue but it lasted only two weeks. I am currently on 3.75mg.

Thanks @SecondCircuit

I have sort of maintained at around 7st 12lb to 8st 1lb over the last month, which is good. I am still injecting, but only the equivalent of 2.5mg per fortnight, so am below the starting dose and have been for a few weeks. It's quite silly but, for some reason, the thought of going cold turkey and stopping altogether is scaring me.

Cheesecake53 · 25/10/2026 07:19

I have finally reached a 2 stones loss!! I was on a 12 kg loss for ages but dithered around them and nutracheck wouldn't give me 2 stones, but today I weighted 97.2kg and that means a loss of 2st 0.2lbs!!! The scale probably goes up tomorrow, but today I'm a happy bunny, its 2 stones, yeah!!!

Happy long day everybody!

HelenDenver · 25/10/2026 07:37

Brilliant stuff @Cheesecake53

MooBaggage · 25/10/2026 09:48

Yay @Cheesecake53 !!! Brilliant stuff 😍 and remember the rule - we don't record the gains if they're there for less than a couple of weeks 😬👍

I recorded my BMI 24.9 on October 16th and immediately was up 1lb the next day and have been up 1lb every day until today, when I'm back to my target weight! Doesn't count 😀 I've learnt that this is my pattern - and it hopefully means I'll lose 1lb next week and then bob up and down from that one for a couple of weeks..!

Twizzletoe · 25/10/2026 11:39

So after dithering and several attempts via contact us have stuck with 2.5mg for my second pen. 5th dose tonight.
SW 94.4kg 1st week 1.1kg, 2nd week 0.6kg, 3rd week 0.7kg, 4th week 1.2kg CW 90.8kg
Very happy with that, now just need to start adding in some exercise again.
Have started “Why we eat too much” well written and interesting

childfreebychoice · Yesterday 15:26

I'm just popping in with a quick update. 1lb off for me this week. Less than I'd hoped for, but a loss is still a loss. I'm hoping for more next week, or I may consider increasing my dose, especially as my hunger has increased quite a lot over the past few weeks. I'm still on 2.5mg at the moment, but have a 5mg pen and will count the clicks to increase gradually when I decide the time is right.

Start date: 15 June 2026
Starting weight: 18st 7lb
Current weight: 16st 6lb
Loss so far: 2 stone 1lb
Initial target weight: 12st 6lb

Cheesecake53 · Yesterday 17:13

Two stones is brilliant @childfreebychoice! I also lost a pound.

Thank you xx

Where I am, you have to request a collection from the council.
