I have that book, on Kindle. I will actually read it now, if it’s a good one!

Cheesecake53 · 17/10/2026 21:22

I look so forward to understand more about set points (and hopefully how to reset them if possible).

Twizzletoe · 18/10/2026 07:56

Another 0.6kg down. Fourth injection tonight. I am happy with this pace of loss and very minor side effects. The magnesium citrate was a top tip by the way -thanks!

So my dilemma is do I change my order to keep my next pen at 2.5mg or do I go with the scheduled increase to 5mg. I am tempted to stick with the 2.5mg - what does the community wisdom here think.

HelenDenver · 18/10/2026 08:19

I would stay where you are if you are still
losing and not feeling hungry.

I did 2 months on 2.5mg then went up to 5mg but I’m hoping to stay on 5 for a while.

Twizzletoe · 18/10/2026 08:34

Thanks - that was my feeling too. I am hungry but “normal hungry” IYKWIM and no real issues with deciding to avoid less good choices.

Cheesecake53 · 18/10/2026 09:05

I lost 2.1kg this week, after no loss last week I was on 3.75 last week and am on 3.6 this week - unintentionally after I primed the syringe too much (I still am on 2.5mg pens, the last 2, and take syringes because I do not want to jab twice).

Yesterday I managed to go by myself to the pharmacy and post office! I have vestibular migraine and the current medicine seems to help. I have not had an attack for a few weeks and dare to leave the house more.

Me personally, I bought the 5 mg (as price was the same or very similar then) and partial dosed. It means 1) you have the option to move up mid month if needed, 2) partial dosing means you get 8 weeks of 2.5mg out of a pen.

Some watch outs -

  1. if click counting you need to ensure you are confident you will check and double check partial dose/click count before injecting

  2. even though manufacturers guidelines say 30 day in use, some pharmacies and doctors are allowing pens in use for 8 weeks now

  3. make sure you know your pharmacy’s ordering requirements before they put you back down to 2.5mg pens. Some make you order every 4-6 weeks so you might end up building up a (cost free as you were buying for 4 weeks anyway) stockpile to use later

You need to think through how you minimise and manage that stockpile especially if you do go up doses. It worked out perfectly for me as I never needed to go over 3.75mg or buy higher than 5 mg. Over 117 weeks I officially should be on my 30th pen, but I am currently only using my 18th. I have bought 20 pens so had a small stockpile which I am currently using during an agreed 5 month ordering break with my supplier, once I start buying again at the end of this month I have agreed to buy a pen every 8 weeks.

Twizzletoe · 18/10/2026 10:03

Thats very interesting @WeAllHaveWings I think at this early stage I am a bit too hesitant to go with the counting clicks approach. Wary of going against the four week period after opening too. I am with Juniper not sure how rigidly they stick to “the rules”

WeAllHaveWings · 18/10/2026 10:25

absolutely stick with what you are comfortable with @Twizzletoe , and without trying to convince you to go out of your comfort zone, just so you are informed for any decision

If a qualified Dr says openly to patients a medication is ok to use for 8 weeks, they won’t say that without checking it is as they are putting their medical license at risk. (Also added picture from VOY regarding their “smart dosing” offering where they allow patients to click count)

I have never used Juniper, but found this recent post (picture). Looks like they are somewhat flexible. You just say last dose was 5mg and was recent and if they do ask about gap say it was due to break, illness, event, holiday etc.

Again, always stay with what you are comfortable and confident with, but if you want to explore it, there is lots of experience on this thread to help.

I have started the book, I think it’s v good.

Mid week weigh in and my BMI is 35.1 so v nearly at my next mini target of under 35 🙂🙂

MooBaggage · 20/10/2026 10:05

oooh @HelenDenver you're very close now - that's such a good target to reach, having a BMI of under 35! Hopefully in the next week or so 😊

I had a busy weekend with a wedding (lots of prosecco!) so am 1/2lb up at the moment. Not in the slightest bit bothered but I definitely want to lose a few more lbs over the next couple of months, to give me a holiday/wedding-type events buffer! Am back in the zone from yesterday and have another busy weekend ahead coming up, but one where I'm not able to eat and drink anything much, so it'll probably be very good for me!

The red shoes haven't arrived yet, but I'm currently trying to source a wrap dress on Vinted - maybe dark red/black, so I have something to wear with them once they arrive 😀

Nearly the weekend! I'm picking up the red shoes today 😀Am preparing myself for them either not fitting, or me not liking them, obvs... 🙄

I've struggled a bit with wondering what the hell to do next, now I've reached my goal weight - so have decided to definitely try and lose another 4lbs to get comfortably into the low BMI24s - will keep me out of the trouble for the next couple of months, at least..!

Scary times - have just ordered a 7.5mg pen... I've been feeling fine on 10mg every 8 days, so will keep reducing down slowly as I'm now a pen in hand, so can go down to 9mg/8mg etc.

Wishing everyone a great weekend - onwards and downwards! 😍💪

You can always distract yourself by putting aside any surplus in your MJ budget to buy more glorious shoes :)

HelenDenver · 23/10/2026 09:26

And good luck with the 7.5mg pen, a brilliant step onwards and downwards.

childfreebychoice · 23/10/2026 11:57

Good luck as you start to titrate down @MooBaggage

MooBaggage · 23/10/2026 12:30

OMG I bloody love the shoes!! I've never owned anything like them before 😀

Yes, jeans and a beautiful top would definitely also work.

MooBaggage · 23/10/2026 13:10

They also make me 100 feet tall 😀

Hey all!

Despite not posting recently, I have been lurking and following everyone's journey. Not been brave enough to venture onto the maintenance board, which is madness given I have been in maintenance for months now... But I did see our lovely @MooBaggage on there - seeing your posts actually made me quite emotional for you! Huge well done, you amazing lady 💕

SW: 15st 5.5lb
CW: 7st 11.5lb
Loss: 106lb
Current BMI: 19.4
Target Weight 1: 12st 1lb (overweight BMI) - Achieved!
Target Weight 2: 10st 1lb (healthy BMI) - Achieved!
Target Weight 3: 9st 5.5lb (6st loss) - Achieved!
Final Target: 8st 8lb - 9st 1lb - Achieved!

I have lost almost 50% of my bodyweight now. If you told me last year I would be where I am now, I'd have laughed... hysterically!

My weight loss has all but stopped - I am fluctuating between 7st 11lb and 8st at the moment. I don't have much wiggle room now, so I was very conscious of the fact the weight loss needed to stop. I have been seeing the GP - I have iron deficiency anaemia and am also being prescribed HRT finally. At the tender age of 48, I have not had to argue my point like all the other times. The GP I have been seeing is wonderful - very attentive and I feel like I am finally being listened to now. Will start the HRT at the beginning of my next cycle and hoping that also helps improve things.

The gym has stalled over the last 3 weeks, I have a knee injury which flared up and left me on crutches. Then I got an awful viral infection this week - it's quite funny, because my neck is so slender now, I can actually see my glands clearly. I look like a gerbil/hamster that has packed a day's worth of food in its jowls!

Other than weight loss, the biggest thing I have noticed since taking MJ is the effect it has had on me drinking alcohol. Previously, I'd have loved a glass or 3 of wine on a weekend, but I haven't had a single drink in over a year; I have no desire to drink alcohol anymore - I'd rather enjoy a good cup of tea. But I have been out for meals a quite few times and eaten whatever I wanted to - I enjoy going out and having fun with great company, but not feeling any effects of drinking the morning after!

NSV, well I bought 2 pairs of Levi's jeans - one skinny fit and one slim fit in a 25 waist. I haven't worn Levi's since my early/mid 20s! I went out for my birthday recently and a couple of friends I hadn't seen in a while said how great I looked. I also went out for a work do about a month ago and was not short of male attention - my ego has been well and truly boosted recently 😂

Will keep lurking and cheerleading from the sidelines 😊
