Got mine on preorder…. I’m excited and a little apprehensive… have two stone to lose.

I’m still waiting. It’s been several days

It's a week tomorrow for me Sad
That's with Chemist4U. I wouldn't be feeling as anxious if it hadn't said something like "most requests are approved within 24 hours, but could be up to 48 hours in busy periods"...

As there are several of us waiting for Chemist4U I think the 24-48 hours is for the jab and they’ve had a massive influx of people ordering the pill and can’t cope with the demand hence us waiting for ages. And as the pill won’t be available until next month I suppose they aren’t worried because even once approved they have nothing yet to send us!

I’m super tempted - just looking on Voy now on the train. I’ve never taken the injections but so fed up of continual dieting failure and increasing body size. Does anyone know if wegovy has similar anti inflammatory side effects as those reported from mounjaro injections? Will a mounjaro pill come soon too?

I have 35kg to lose 😭😭

SilenceInside · 22/06/2026 08:28

@chalkyc2 there is no Mounjaro pill in development. The manufacturers of Mounjaro, Eli Lilly, are developing a different GLP1 tablet called orforglipron (branded as Foundayo in the US). That's due to be available in the UK maybe towards the end of this year or sometime in 2027.

If anyone is thinking of starting WLI or tablets, it's worth checking out the price comparison site https://monj.co.uk/mounjaro-price-comparison-by-monj/ for Mounjaro prices, and https://igovy.co.uk/wegovy-price-comparison-uk/ for Wegovy injection prices.

The price of drugs to the end user (be that a person or the NHS) has little to do with the cost of manufacturing (unless that is super specialist).

Drug companies have to price to cover the R and D of both the successful formulations, and of those that fail at various parts of the research or clinical trial process. Plus all the regulatory applications, branding, marketing and sales teams etc.

So yes, they won’t want to cannibalise their own injection sales, but there’s a lot more to pricing than that.

What a lovely post @Thebigonesgetaway ❤️

Chickadeeinme · 22/06/2026 08:43

I’m in the USA and I’ve been on the Wegovy pills since March. They started me on a really low dose (1.5mg) for six weeks and then bumped me up to 4mg. I have to go back to the weight loss clinic in early August and may get bumped up to the next dose (9mg) then - highest dose is 21mg. I’m losing about 4-5 lb a month - nearly a stone and a half so far. Another couple of stone to go! I’m also using the Noom app on my phone as it seems a sensible programme.

Chickadeeinme · 22/06/2026 08:44

I pay $147 a month, but I did hear that the price might come down in July - not sure of details though.

AprilFlowersMay · 22/06/2026 15:25

@Chickadeeinme how have you found them? (Appetite suppression / side effects)? Interesting to hear from someone who has actually used them!

Chickadeeinme · 22/06/2026 19:59

I’m still on a fairly low dose but it definitely has reduced my appetite. We went out for brunch and I had two poached eggs, two strips of bacon, two slices of toast and a cup of fruit salad. I couldn’t eat the second slice of toast. I still need to calorie count though - keeping between 1300 and 1500 a day - but it’s easier to do now. You have to take the pill first thing in the morning with no more than 4oz of water (like two small sips) and then wait half an hour before having anything else to eat or drink (including water) so factor that into your day.

Chickadeeinme · 22/06/2026 20:01

No side effects so far, except mild constipation. Doctor suggested SmoothMoves tea in the evening but I don’t need it every day.

I’ve just had my pre-order approved by Chemist4U. It’s been a week since I ordered them.

chalkyc2 · 23/06/2026 14:49

I’ve just pre ordered. Hated taking the photos!

loveev · 23/06/2026 16:52

It'll be day 8 for me tomorrow 😫
I am getting a bit anxious now. I've been so down about my weight, I just want something hopeful to focus on.

SilenceInside · 23/06/2026 22:24

I guess they’re not rushing to do approvals for the tablets as they don’t have any supply of them as yet. Usually a prescription for injections is approved in a day or two by most pharmacies, as they have those in stock.

RubyRedAndGertieGreen · 24/06/2026 16:05

Mine has been approved now, at last! I felt weirdly emotional when I got the email Blush
I've really struggled over the last year or so. I know it's not a "magic pill", but I'm so relieved that an end to this horrible cycle is hopefully on the way.

AprilFlowersMay · 24/06/2026 16:13

@RubyRedAndGertieGreen I know exactly how you feel. I have had an "eat all the things" day and I just wish it would go away. There is no mystery as to why I carry extra weight but if this is the answer to shutting up the continual chatter in my head about food that would be amazing.

So pleased for you you've been approved.

@AprilFlowersMay thank you so much.
We sound quite similar in our journey - my BMI is also not quite 30 but I have conditions which made me eligible. I find it really frustrating when people suggest that simply eating less is easy. I've really struggled with food habits (mostly binge eating) all my life. Fingers crossed this works for us. It would be amazing to not have food on the brain from the moment I open my eyes in the morning 😅

Chickadeeinme · 24/06/2026 20:06

The tablets do work though. Yesterday I was at a barbecue party and I splurged on a small piece of cake as well as a dessert. I’ve been keeping myself on about 1300-1500 calories a day and losing about a pound a week on average, but those two things put me up to about 2000. My stomach definitely didn’t like it! And today we went out to lunch and I ordered a small steak sandwich and really couldn’t eat more than half of it - I was quite full and satisfied on that.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 24/06/2026 21:30

I’ve just pre ordered with Asda, I just want to be less hungry!
I don’t comfort eat or boredom eat, I’m just flipping hungry and it’s so hard to get on top of it.
im also addicted to sugar so I’m hoping to manage that better.

I prefer the injections. GLP1s inhibit the absorption of some of my medication so surely it will affect the absorption of these pills.

RubyRedAndGertieGreen · 16/06/2026 15:42

@SilenceInside this is going to sound terrible, but the tablets will be easier to hide!
I'm really ashamed that I've had to resort to this, I don't know why but I am. I know my husband would fully support me, but I'm embarrassed. I can afford it, but I feel guilty spending £100 a month just because I'm not capable of resisting the cravings. I don't mean to offend anyone else here, but I do feel like going on the weight loss meds is a symbol of my failure, and I don't want anyone in real life to know! BlushSad

Sorry, I'm having a down day today. I've been trying very very hard lately, attending exercise classes three times per week and trying to stick to 1200-1400 calories but I just can't stop binge eating every few days. I literally wake up in the night thinking about food, it's that bad. I was so depressed when I weighed myself this morning.

Sorry for the self indulgent moan, feels good to get that off my chest!

An important thing to remember is that it’s not just you not ‘resisting the cravings’ it’s you pushing against the survival mechanisms in your brain that are trying to force you to eat more. And that not everyone has the same cravings with the same volume.

Mine has been approved too. I’m so pleased.

So happy for you both! Yay here's to new beginnings. I'm still waiting for approval...10 days and counting
