Just done jab 2 and it started stinging! Realised I hadn’t taken it out of the fridge 30 mins before. Fail.

First weigh in tomorrow, fingers crossed.

Ive had more food noise today, but it’s only really crept in late yesterday/today so happy with that as today was jab day.

I think it's actually better news for me today, after my 3rd jab last night. I do think I feel less hungry today. I am trying to stick with old dieting habits of Intermittent Fasting (my children are used to this so hopefully will be less obvious when the WLIs start helping to boost my efforts - I don't want them to know about W). So, bearing this in mind, today is a fast day for me. So, I had a cereal sized bowl of some dhal I made yesterday with a little yoghurt and crispy chilli oil around 1.30pm, I've also had an apple and had a spoon full of kids pasta dinner tonight. Also a few prunes! But think I can probably last now. Yesterday (again a fast day) I had similar amounts but by now by snacking/peering into cupboards for little bits & pieces felt much more needed.

Glad you feel more like it’s working today!

Astravanga · 16/06/2026 20:34

I had a bought sandwich for breakfast, and a coffee. Protein mousse and banana snack, then bean and veg salad for lunch. Half of DH's scotch egg when I came home and then half a pizza for dinner. Not brilliant but ok, and literally can't believe I couldn't finish the pizza. That has never ever happened before 😂

Not "feeling" much of anything different this week, but clearly its having some effect as I don't want to eat as much as previously.

blibblibs · 16/06/2026 20:50

I'm due my second jab tomorrow night and still feeling ok.
Food noise hasn't really gone it's just changed to a healthy version. I'm really having to think about what to eat that's going to give me enough calories protein and fiber. Chat gpt worked it out for me yesterday, overnight oats, egg salad and beans on toast. I was only at 1000 cals and 30g of protein but my fiber was good.
It suggested adding in some greek yoghurt or a protein drink so I did that tonight once I got home from work and I've only just managed to have my tea.
It has cut out all the snacking which is good because that was my downfall. And I want to keep my eating as normal as possible because I haven't actually told anyone I'm on W.
Weight in tomorrow morning so I'll see how the first weeks gone then.

Sanch1 · 17/06/2026 09:16

How did you get on @blibblibs ?

I recorded a 4lb loss, which I am obviously happy about, but it's just the 4lb I put on last week when my brain was in 'WLIs mean I'll never eat again better eat all the good stuff' mode ha ha!

I'd really love to lose 2lb a week, as without WLIs I tend to lose 1lb and its tough going. See what happens in the week ahead!

WoIsMe · 17/06/2026 09:24

I’m not happy with the iPhone Health app. I’m sure I see a lovely drop over the past four weeks but the app persists in saying there’s no trend!
Angry
I shall ignore it and persist!

I only had a yogurt and a coffee this morning for breakfast as DH and I have an early lunch planned for 11:30 as he has to take DS to a doctor’s appointment. I’m making poached eggs and avocado served on a bed of roasted courgette, red onion and yellow pepper with a sprinkle of sunflower seeds and a drizzle of chilli balsamic glaze. Hopefully that’s enough protein. I wonder whether I should add in some feta?

Was it really painful? I didn’t realise it would make that much difference.

What type of fasting are you doing? Is it 5:2?

Lexy2345 · 17/06/2026 09:27

It’s my wedding anniversary tomorrow and DH wants us to go out for lunch. What should I order? I’m thinking maybe a chicken dish with salad. I’m only on my first week and I’m not particularly hungry. I’m making a real effort to make healthy choices but it’s hard when for years I’ve been eating high fat, high sugar, low protein foods.

LoSlo3toGo · 17/06/2026 09:45

Hi All - jab day tonight for me. 3 weeks in I have less ‘surpression’ than first week or 2 (I can eat a relatively normal amount, smaller portions but I was eating til REALLY full before)

I have much less urge to snack & can ignore seeet food a lot more easily which is a huge help

Weight unchanged (about 4-5 pounds down since I started, seemingly all in the first week!)

Id love to be one of those people who effortlessly lose a stone in the first month but I realise I have to be patient

Tonight’s jab will be my 4th at 0.25mg so still thinking about what to do in month 2 … whether to stay at starter dose, gradually move up, or go straight in at 0.5… am leaning towards the middle option

Im definitely eating a lot better, snacking less, clothes feel less tight, & I’ve lost some bloating on my stomach… hoping the hot spell coming will help me lose a couple of pounds too

Todays food will be :
BF : Greek yogurt with chia & fruit & walnuts
L: egg salad with a salad & slice of sourdough
S: fruit
D: grilled veggies with feta (aubergine, pepper etc) & a couple of the potato wedges I am making for my family if I want them

Despite my user name I feel impatient lately ☺️

Happy anniversary! This sounds like a good choice - you might want to order a couple of starters vs a main if you can’t eat much

Morning @WoIsMe I'm doing a version of 5:2 in that previously when I've lost weight doing it I find 4:3 more effective as it means i can be a tad more lenient on the non fast days. The idea being once I start getting to GW I move to 5:2 then even 6:1.....I can dream anyway! I also try to incorporate 16:8 everyday too - so other than a Sunday maybe, I try not to eat anything until after 12pm.

blibblibs · 17/06/2026 10:21

3lb down @Sanch1 so happy enough with that.
We'll see how the next week goes.

LoSlo3toGo · 17/06/2026 10:22

Well done @blibblibs- that’s a great 1st week loss!

It wasn't terrible but was definitely noticeable against nothing last week. Starting to think maybe nothing went in last week ha ha

I saw a good tip that you have a main course and you can have one of starter, dessert or alcohol. Whichever you like but only one. That way you can still have a treat meal out without it becoming excessive. I would go for whichever is going to get you the most protein so a starter and a main course.

That sounds good but I think I would struggle on a low calories day. I would rather fast completely than have 500 or 800 calories! But apparently you can’t do extended fasting on GLP1 medications so I’m aiming for 16:8 six days a week instead.

Can you explain the rationale for not doing extended fasting on GLP1s please, I’ve not heard this. Thank you!

Can you explain the rationale for not doing extended fasting on GLP1s please, I’ve not heard this. Thank you!

It’s really difficult to get good information because the calorie-counting advocates hate fasting, keto, etc. and the fasting and keto crowds think GLP1 medications are unnecessary so there isn’t really anyone talking about combining these approaches. So take the following with a pinch of salt and please let me know if you find any more reliable information or studies.

In extended fasting, you don’t lose muscle because going into ketosis switches the metabolism from glucose-burning to fat-burning and there’s an evolutionary adaption to upregulate Growth Hormone levels to protect muscle tissue - so our primitive ancestors could go and hunt food without passing out from hunger or wasting away. This is all proven fact; it gets wishy-washy from here on in.

The theory is that suppressing appetite and delaying gastric emptying with GLP1 medications places the metabolism into severe energy deficit that crosses the muscle-sparing threshold, causing the breakdown of muscle tissue to meet the body’s absolute protein requirement. Other issues are the effect on insulin secretion which may cause hypoglycaemia, the effect of fasting on the gastrointestinal tract which is already moving slowly, disruption of thirst meaning you won’t drink enough while fasting, and side effects such as nausea and reflux being reduced by eating regularly. The advice is only to fast overnight e.g. 14:10.

I don’t have enough information to support an extended fast on Wegovy. I feel like my current level of appetite suppression is mild and I could eat the amount I was eating before starting the medication. I already ate a high protein diet. So, for me, the question is, if I was eating at a slight calorie deficit, say 1,800 calories per day, and I did a 24- or 36-hour fast, would I lose muscle mass? There isn’t any evidence that this would happen yet fasting is deemed to be incompatible with these medications.

Have just my first jab! Was very nervous but was easier than I expected (which has now made me worried that I didn’t do it properly - I’m an over thinker!)

I’ll do a first weigh properly in the morning to get baseline

Really hoping this works for me!

Thank you for this. I’m nervous about what alcohol to drink because I usually have a pint of draught cider. OMG the calories 😱

Pint of cider is about 260 calories. I normally have wine or Prosecco (509-600 per bottle) or you could go for a spirit and diet mixer which would be a lot less.

JoyousAsOtters · 18/06/2026 07:26

Second jab coming up for me tonight so I’ve weighed myself this morning - this stuff is magic, I’ve lost 2.6 kg! I suffer with quite bad inflammation so I think a lot of that is puffery going down, but still, that’s one of the things I’m on WG for so I’m thrilled!

Added nunnery inducements though - forehead full of zits like a teen, grim taste in mouth so probably foul breath. Still, so happy about scales going down.
