Hello my fellow June starters 👋🏼

Apologies for several weeks of silence - incredibly hectic time at work

Well, 21 weeks in and 16 pounds down, no one could accuse me of rushing it, but I’m starting to really feel the difference of weight loss

My bmi is still over 30, but I’m a lot less lumpy & bumpy, feel more mobile, and clothes are fitting a lot better

After several weeks on 0.7 in September I went up to 1mg a couple of weeks ago and this seems to be effective in getting the scales moving after several weeks of stalling

I half wonder if I should have gone up faster but this gradual approach has definitely helped me manage side effects so hoping to stay on 1mg a while & hope I continue to lose . I have about another 2 stone to lose so it’s going to be a long haul…

You did the right thing by being gradual. I was the same and lost it so went up to 1 mg. Yes, it has come off quicker but i don't like this dose so im coming back down to 0.5 next week. It feels all too much too soon. Well done on your fab progress. Its going in the right direction and thats what matters.

Thanks for the reply @LuckyHazelFox

Sorry to hear 1mg isn’t suiting you, maybe going down will help (& increase slowly?)

Through this journey I’ve click-counted to increase my doses very slowly

0.25 for a few weeks, then 0.3, 0.35, 0.4, 0.45, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.85.(all for 2-3 weeks mostly). then jumped up to 1mg a couple of weeks ago

The reason was each time I go up I get quite noticeable suppression for a few days, & also sometimes a bit of constipation (I think it was worst probably first few weeks and now seems to be much more manageable) … it’s made my rate of weight loss quite slow, but as I expect to be losing another 2 stone over probably 6 months or more it’s not such a bad thing

I’m buying ‘higher’ pens & stretching them out to manage the cost

At the start I read a couple of books that suggested staying on as low a dose as possible for as long as possible (so you can taper slowly and not have a massive rebound hunger when eventually coming off the meds). This is the approach I have taken and I hope it will help … I’ve basically been 2-3 stone overweight most of my adult life, and manage to lose about 2 stone every few years and keep it off for a couple of months before it creeps up again… I’m realistic but hoping these medications will hep me keep my weight down

As I’ve now lost a dress size I’m really enjoying being able to fit into more of my clothes and having a choice of what to wear vs just a few things that would fit

@LoSlo3toGo you've been very smart and sensible, not to mention meticulous in your calculations! A dress size down is a huge achievement. 🍾💪in the long run, you will be glad you took the slow and steady option.

Well done everyone on your weight losses. Slow and steady is perfect for your body and your mindset.

I have bought the 1.7 pen. I've done 4 weeks at 1mg (prior to that I did two lots of each dose. I'm not wondering if it's going to make me feel rubbish. I've been ok on the 1mg, but I noticed the 2nd month on each of the doses it didn't feel like it was working. So I maybe foolishly got 1.7. Anyone else taken 1.7 and how have you felt? I know everyone reacts differently.

ps 18 lb weight loss since middle of June.

blibblibs · 23/10/2026 08:19

I'm still going slow and steady. I'm about to order my third 0.5. I should probably go up to 1mg as I've only lost 1lb in the last three weeks or so but the constipation is bad and I seem to have done this often, lose the same pound for a few weeks then do one a week for a few weeks then back to only a pound.
I'm trying to think of it more long term though. I've lost 22lbs since June, bought the same jeans in a smaller size and lost 5inch from my waist so it is working. Just not as quickly as I thought it might.
I need to lose another stone to just get to a BMI of 25 but I'm not sure I'll go that low, all I wanted was for my clothes to fit and I fear they might not if I go that far.
I'm just going to keep going slow and steady for the rest of the year and reassess in the new year.

@ticklish: now that you have the 1.7mg pen, you could count clicks to slowly up it, like 1.2 perhaps for a few weeks (I just had a look and that would be 51 clicks)…. To up your levels but not have such a big jump. That approach might let you use the pen for 5 weeks (2 at 1.2, 2 at 1.4, 1 at 1.6) …. You can keep it under that or go up over the 4/5 weeks

likewise you could do a couple of weeks more at 1mg and see how you get on : if you are still losing I would just do that!

Hi @blibblibs: nice to hear your updates and weight loss :) 22 pounds is brilliant so you are doing something really right!

id order the 1mg pen and just up slightly (like 0.55 or 0.6). I’ve had the same issues & fybogel, water, walking & and lots of fibre have helped. My problems have been when going up a dose, and then being hydrated and using a stool softener (ducolax) helped get me through the tricky days.

I’ve been able to buy that from Amazon

Thank you. Yes think I'll go up slowly to the 1.7. Funny enough I was looking online earlier and found a chart with the clicks and what they mean. It makes more sense doing it that way.

LoSlo3toGo · 23/10/2026 10:23

Also, now that I’ve been in wegovy for a few months & know how my body handles it, for the last few weeks I’ve been doing 0.7mg on Thu night, another 0.3mg on Sunday - to keep levels more even over time. This seems to be helping me manage not having a massive peak of levels (which makes me constipated) and then hungry days before the next Jab

OP posts:
blibblibs · 23/10/2026 11:14

LoSlo3toGo I like that idea of twice a week to keep levels more even. I definitely feel it wain a couple of days before the next jab.
After much trail and error I've found califig the best thing to keep me semi regular. You can even get it in travel sachets rather than taking a sticky bottle out. Not all chemists carry it but Amazon have it.

LuckyHazelFox · 23/10/2026 11:24

The constipation is a nightmare. Thank goodness for Senokat!

TheDogsMother · 23/10/2026 15:07

Hi all, mixed news from me. I did manage to shift 10lbs but undid a bit of that good work on a three week holiday ! I have just stepped up to 2.4mg but I'm not getting as much suppression as I'd hoped. I seem to have a lot of tolerance to this drug in much the same way as I rarely get side effects from prescription or OTC medicines. I have come to the end of my initial Voy subscription and wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a cheaper provider?

LoSlo3toGo · 23/10/2026 19:07

Hi @TheDogsMother: ten pounds is progress, but maybe you are one of the people that does need to be on 2.4 to lose?

I’ve used bolt, iq doctor & med express : all have been pretty competitive on price, can send you a code if you like?

@blibblibs: I was getting that too, so this works for me

in the trials the best effects were from injecting every 5 days so I think this drug wears down a bit by day 6…

I’m glad to see this thread revived! I’m still on 0.5 mg but I’ve regained a couple pounds over the last two weeks. I have another box of 0.5 mg on the way so I have four weeks to decide whether I need to move up to 1.0 mg. If my weight loss stall continues then I will but I also feel that I haven’t been eating well so I want to work on that first. Not even necessarily eating too much but eating erratically so I end up hungry at odd times. I think I really need to embed “three square meals a day” so, when I eventually come off the weight loss medication, I have established habits to keep me going into weight loss maintenance. I’m still 19 lb down overall which seems like a miracle. I just need to dig deep and find the motivation to get the scales moving again. It helps that changing dose gave me side effects whereas, on a steady dose, I only have to watch my water and fibre intake and occasionally take a dose of movicol to keep everything moving. I don’t even seem to be extra hungry on the day or two before I inject so I’m getting nice, even suppression on 0.5 mg (for now.) I know that the body adapts to the medication over time so I’m open to moving up a dose in the future, I’m just trying to stay on a low dose for as long as it’s still helping me.

Well done on your progress. Are you sure you've put that weight on because my scales sometimes tell me the same yet when I try clothes on from a few days before, they are looser. This plateau business as well frustrates me, with the scales.

LoSlo3toGo · Yesterday 15:55

Hi @WoIsMe- I’m enjoying catching up on everyone’s weight losses too! Well done on yours :)

losing so much on just 0.5mg is impressive and I think you are right to keep a low dose OR creep up only very slightly

5 months in and I thought I’d be done by now and maintaining 😂

I realise with losing maybe 3-5 pounds a month it’s going to be another 6-8 months for me …. I don’t mind as I’m already feeling lots better, have plenty of choice of things to wear from before I gained the weight, and I’m sure it’s healthier for the body

I’ve had the same plateaus on the scales but feeling clothes getting smaller that @LuckyHazelFoxdescribes … I think weighing less often might help mentally!

Meanwhile I’ve found a fun motivational technique… I’ve been using chat gpt to generate photos of what I might look like in a few months - photos of my body when I was my ideal weight and my current face - it’s been good fun 🤩
