Good morning all, I'm doing my second dose this afternoon as my last was Monday afternoon, my first week on wegovy was really good I've done a lot of exercising that I could fit in after my morning or afternoon jobs, I was a bit nauseous on a morning but not everyday, I've had a headache twice, food noise completely went till yesterday but I didn't listen too it!, is this a usual thing for anyone? Does it seem to creep back when your ready for the next dose?, I weighed myself before my morning job and I've lost 2.5lbs im guessing water weight but I'm definitely happy 😊.

The half-life of semaglutide is 7 days so you still have half of the first dose in your system when you have your second injection. The amount of medication in your system increases until your 7th dose and then remains pretty stable for as long as you keep injecting weekly.

That’s why I’m staying on the lowest dose for my second pack; I want to see how I feel at seven weeks on 0.25 mg before I even consider increasing my dose as I would like to stay on the lowest effective dose. I love food too much to want to have complete appetite suppression and have to force myself to eat - that sounds terrible.

Astravanga · 15/06/2026 11:11

Hey @StarCourt up to you but it's not necessary. I deliberately haven't changed anything I'm eating as I want to know how it works when it's my normal daily life.

As I said up thread though I have eaten normal foods but wanted quite a bit less of them.

Hi all my Wegovy is arriving today. Should I have a day of clean eating before injecting tomorrow?

Yes - it’s not ‘necessary’ but can’t hurt

Focus on fibre & being hydrated

@wols:this is a really good & clear explanation

I think your rationale is very logical, especially as this looks like it’s going to be a very long term treatment for list people if you don’t want to regain, so keeping dose low also keeps costs down and will make maintaining easier too I hope

I did my third 0.25 dose a few days ago, and unlike previous doses I haven’t experienced any suppression ☹️. Ate takeaway last night and am cross at myself for having it. I’m still experiencing reduced sugar cravings though which is fab.

Nofeckingway · 15/06/2026 12:01

@Trumptontown I am the same . No idea why people are making decisions to alter dose . Is that OK to do . Feel very much out on a limb as not prescribed by my GP at first so no monitoring.

Trumptontown · 15/06/2026 12:05

It’s normal to increase the dose every four weeks until you get consistent appetite suppression - some people get it at lower doses. I can’t wait to go up to 0.5!

pickle75 · 15/06/2026 15:09

@Trumptontown think I'm the same as you. Though I wanted to stay on low doses for as long as possible, I think I only felt some effects in my first week. The second week has been pretty non existent and particularly the latter half of the week - all feels normal. I'm about to have my 3rd dose tonight and obviously hoping to feel it tomorrow - v much enjoyed the (brief) period of little food noise. But I feel I may have to increase to 0.5 to get more effect. At the moment, I'm just staying with same provider (Bolt) but probably through laziness.

Oh I didn't think of half still being in your system🤦🏻‍♀️, I'm doing the same I want to stay on the lower dose I don't think I could take being more nauseous whilst working with kids and food, I'm managing as I am and like you I like my food even if it's all calorie deficit at the moment I don't fancy being ill

Fingers crossed we get more consistent results with 0.5 (but without the side effects!)

I did my second jab yesterday. Ive felt fine all day but was ill after my tea. Think I may have eaten too much. I knew I didnt want it but a friend had cooked it so felt I had to eat it.

Sorry to hear @Frieda… I can’t eat as much either so I guess the thing to do is to ask for a small serving in advance & explain trying to eat less?

Decent day here - it’s nearing jab day and although I feel I can eat more, I am less tempted by sugary things and craving fruit

The scales are up & down but 3 weeks in I definitely feel my jeans are a tiny bit looser so thats a start!

I did my third jab tonight. I have to say I’ve not felt even a slight difference in appetite or desire to eat since starting. No weight lost. Just the negative side effect of constipation. Interesting how it begins to have an effect on some people straightaway. I know it’s a low dose to get your body used to it.

@Plinketyplonks: frustrating not to lose weight, but if it’s giving you constipation it IS working as it is slowing your digestion, which should make you fuller quicker

In your case I would focus on sorting this issue so it doesn’t put you off the treatment (I’m taking fibogel as well as hugely upping my fibre & water, a short walk after meals can help too)

Then you can move up doses to 0.5mg after your first 4 weeks with confidence & hopefully get the results you are looking for

Weigh on this morning- about 5 pounds down in the 3 weeks of using Wegovy (think the first week was massive water loss which has since rebalanced)

Clothes feeling less snug & I am eating a bit less … I am going to see where I am after my last week of 2.5 (jab tomorrow) and take it from there

That sounds very frustrating. I have heard other people say the first dose didn’t make any difference. I’m finding the effects quite subtle. I weighed out 30g of peanuts yesterday afternoon and, after eating them, I could have happily eaten more but it was easier to stop than it would have been before. Then I felt starving hungry at dinner time but only ate about 90-95% of the food on my plate before I felt that I didn’t need to finish it all. I just looked down at my plate and the food didn’t look as appealing any more but I didn’t feel stuffed or anything. It’s the weirdest thing, I don’t think I’ve ever felt like that before. My mum always made me clean my plate in childhood so I’m used to eating until the food is all gone.

I think there’s also a big psychological factor of, I’m paying all this money for the medication so I need it to work. That’s making me pay more attention to what and how much I’m eating. Then there’s the stupid thought in my head that I’ve been losing weight for four weeks, why am I still fat? Why do we always expect results to be instant?!

Does anyone think it might be helpful to post our meals on here for some accountability?

JoyousAsOtters · 16/06/2026 09:01

Morning all. Well it’s definitely working for me - I haven’t eaten chocolate since Friday and needed no willpower at all to resist which is most unlike me! My sweet tooth is my downfall, I don’t drink alcohol anyway but another interesting effect is I just haven’t fancied even the no-alcohol fizz or soft drinks I usually have to be sociable when others are drinking. I’ve only wanted water. Perhaps WG is turning me into some kind of nun????

Sanch1 · 16/06/2026 09:29

I have found that too @JoyousAsOtters. I have been enyoying my meals still and not getting an overly full feeling but the biggest thing for me is just not being that bothered about food/snacks or chocolate. I track all calories in and out and normally I would make sure I eat what I earn, usually with a few chocolate snacks, this week I haven't done that, not been interested. Can't say the same for alcohol though, used a fair few earnt calories on that on Saturday. First WLI weigh in tomorrow so will see how I get on.

WoIsMe · 16/06/2026 09:37

I’m the same with chocolate @JoyousAsOtters it just doesn’t interest me any more. It must have been an addiction and with the dopamine surges muted, I no longer want it. I have still been drinking alcohol but I wonder how much of that is habit, for example I always have a glass of wine when I’m cooking a roast on Sunday.

Same, like I always have a glass of wine on a Friday night, or like Saturday a BBQ with friends over. Did I really want it or am I just used to having it in certain situations?

Has anyone else found an increased libido since jabbing or is that just me? 😜 I'm two jabs in.

@Astravanga- no change in that department here, I guess it’s not making everyone a nun 😁

Same as others - far less interest in chocolate (except if I’m stressed), wine etc

Today there are loads of donuts at the office, I am bringing one home for DH but not interested myself

@WoIsMe- interesting idea to post what we eat, happy to (or we could make a parallel thread if it takes off)

I like the idea both for accountability, but also to share ideas for high protein/high fibre meals that we should all be eating

Last couple of days we had tofu & veg stir fry with a few buckwheat noodles, & for lunch I’ve had a chickpea smash (like egg mayo really but mashed chickpeas/onion/diced pepper) in a protein wrap - used Greek yogurt & mayo to bind it, with some salad

greek yogurt/chia/fruit/walnuts for breakfast usually, but today I had loads of fruit plus some Brazil nuts

WoIsMe · 16/06/2026 20:16

I haven’t had the best day of eating today but I’ve been completely starving. Probably because it was my injection day so the medication in my system would have been at a low ebb. I had a yogurt and two mini flapjacks for breakfast, prawn cocktail with smoked salmon for lunch, snacks of peanuts, raspberries and three squares of pistachio Aero (just because I wanted to try it,) then burgers and salad for dinner. Lots of protein but not enough in the way of fruit and veg today.

pickle75 · 16/06/2026 20:28

I think it's actually better news for me today, after my 3rd jab last night. I do think I feel less hungry today. I am trying to stick with old dieting habits of Intermittent Fasting (my children are used to this so hopefully will be less obvious when the WLIs start helping to boost my efforts - I don't want them to know about W). So, bearing this in mind, today is a fast day for me. So, I had a cereal sized bowl of some dhal I made yesterday with a little yoghurt and crispy chilli oil around 1.30pm, I've also had an apple and had a spoon full of kids pasta dinner tonight. Also a few prunes! But think I can probably last now. Yesterday (again a fast day) I had similar amounts but by now by snacking/peering into cupboards for little bits & pieces felt much more needed.
