I had my third 0.25 jab on Monday and really not feeling any different yet. I really hope it kicks in soon.

Emowoman90 · 18/06/2026 09:34

I'm on day 3 of my second jab and I'm going off my overnight oats 😩, loved it and now I can't manage to eat them, also after Monday afternoon my 2nd shot hours later I had such a bad migraine I had to take myself to my room and have it completely pitch blacki was in so much pain, anyone else got this?.

WoIsMe · 18/06/2026 10:01

No one warned me about zits @JoyousAsOtters off to the nunnery for you! 2.6 kg is great motivation for you, well done.

@TheDogsMother thats so frustrating, maybe you’re one of those people that needs the next dose to see much effect. Have you lost any weight at all?

@Emowoman90 that migraine sounds awful; they do seem to be a known side effect at the beginning or when going up a dose if you Google it.

What exercise is everyone doing? I’m so unfit because I’ve been making the excuse that exercise would be easier if I wasn’t so overweight. Blush I do a fair amount of walking most days and a (very slow) parkrun on Saturdays. I’ve just done a kettlebell workout and I had to keep pausing the DVD to rest between exercises which was a bit of a shock at how unfit I’ve become. I also forgot how much I enjoy kettlebells. I might dig out the old 30-Day Shred DVD once I’ve gained a bit of aerobic fitness.

@WoIsMe Nothing so far :-(

@WoIsMe no exercise to speak of yet - next on the list to get my head around. I do walk the dog every day but I'm not counting that. Have previously done C25K, several times, but back/knee not great at the moment and not wanting to aggravate especially before summer hols booked mid July. But, I've have tuned into your kettle bell comment. Saw them in Aldi last week, went back today to get one and all gone and have had several conversations with partner during the week. Never used one before but hearing more and more about strength training and so it seems like a possible option - fad or actually worth the hype? As a total beginner and an incredibly unfit person ie never really been fit in my life even at school, where do I start?

LoSlo3toGo · 18/06/2026 10:35

@JoyousAsOtters: wow! That’s a good loss

I had very similar in week one - loads of water released so I felt less puffy instantly

I think some people need to go up in dose

I had a good response in week one and 2 to 0.25mg but that has worn off so I need to go up

Apparentry the dose that leads to weight loss is 1.7mg (so month 4). Anything before that is a bonus I suppose

Still feeling fuller quicker & less snacky, but I need to go up I feel

@pickle75 I use this DVD which I’ve had for years and a 4 kg kettlebell https://amzn.eu/d/0hql0TVC but Paul Katami has loads of videos on YouTube. The basic exercise is the swing where you do a sort of squat and swing the bell up to eye level which is great for your glutes. They’re the biggest muscle in the body so a good one to target to prevent muscle loss. But there are other exercises such as overhead presses for your arms and you can do a lot of core work as well. I love it as I can get a full body work out with just one bell and it’s dynamic so it gets your heart rate up. The first time I lost weight, I got down to my target weight on diet alone but I was “skinny fat” so I didn’t have a good figure. I had to do about six months of strength training - I did the 30-Day Shred by Jillian Michaels - before I felt more happy with my figure. But I also can’t afford to lose any muscle as I’m not very muscular to start with and, at my age (50s) it’s much harder to rebuild lost muscle mass than for younger women.

Sounds like I just need to be patient. The summer body may emerge in winter 🤣

LoSlo3toGo · 18/06/2026 11:11

@TheDogsMother- mine too 😂

well, this weight has been going on over 15 years so if it takes several months to come off I will have to be patient!

I'm still on the lower dose so this is my second week on it, my first dose I only got a slight one, I read in the leaflet that wegovy give you migraines are one of the common side affects, it's just God awful 😫.

Choice4567 · 18/06/2026 11:56

First jab last night and I’m pretty impressed so far in terms of appetite suppression. I’m normally really hungry in the mornings and have usually eaten breakfast and lunch by now!

So far I’ve had one Weetabix and then a banana

Not much in the way of side effects, although I am burping they’re not bad. Am drinking lots of water on the advice of this thread so hopefully that’s helping

Oh I used to love (hate) 30 day shred! I gave my DVD away and you cant really get it on YouTube now which is a bit annoying as I'd like to try it now I am a bit fitter.

Sanch1 · 18/06/2026 12:34

I already do quite a lot of exercise, I've only really packed the weight back on since Christmas, but have still been doing my usual regime. Just shows how much I have been eating!

I run a few times a week and lift weights at home.

If anyone wants to start lifting weights I can recommend Caroline Girvan, she has loads on YouTube, there is also a thread on the exercise board of people who follow her, tips, hints, best series to start on etc.

Injected the second dose and to be honest do not feel any different. Except more indigestion.Still have cravings , still want to eat .

It takes time to build up in the system

0.25 is a low, starter dose. Apparently the weight loss really kicks in for most people only at 1 to 1.7mg

But as the way wegovy works is to slow your stomach emptying (so you feel fuller faster), it can also give you constipation so the slower build up is necessary

I’d love to have an instant effect too - seems I need to be patient!

Today I feel the effects of the jab beginning to wane, i will be taking my 2nd dose tomorrow.

I am under a huge amount of stress and today is particularly bad, so I have been a bit naughty today, but nowhere near as bad as normal. Scales this morning and it looks as though i have lost 1.5kg this week. Very pleased with that so far.

JoyousAsOtters · 18/06/2026 15:07

I can feel appetite suppressant effect wearing off too Sunrise - I am due 2nd jab tonight, and today’s the first time I’ve actually had a bit of grumbly food noise returning. Funny isn’t it? I do think it shows the addictive side of food for some of us.

pickle75 · 18/06/2026 18:18

Thanks @WoIsMe exercise is something i really need to sort next. Though, it's connected into my next point, I am finding the fatigue a struggle - not only because it makes the thought of exercising far less likely but I do think it's also driving a fairly consistent need for "sweet" treats. I assume my body is craving the quick fix energy source. So far, doing a pretty rubbish job at trying to keep it at bay with prunes and whilst good from a fibre/digestive point of view, they are still pretty calorific. Anyone else feeling shattered at points in the day, literally like I've had the stuffing removed.....

WoIsMe · 18/06/2026 18:57

@pickle75I felt like that at first but it passed after the first few weeks. I only feel tired now if I don’t eat soon enough on the day.

Choice4567 · 18/06/2026 22:51

I’ve been pleasantly surprised today, it suppressed my appetite more than I was expecting. And I drank so much more water than I normally do!

This was me yesterday and this morning, I have no appetite and my stomach feels washed out like not sickly and not hurting just weird 😫

Sanch1 · 19/06/2026 10:15

I think for the first time I am noticing suppression, rather than just a dis-interest in snacks etc. I have not eaten breakfast yet, been up since 0630. This isnt rare but normally by now my belly would be really rumbling, and its not at all! I am obviously going to eat as I need to but could happily leave it :-)

pickle75 · 19/06/2026 11:12

Clearly my scales are rubbish but what would you think in my situation this morning; did my weekly weigh in (for context, this is 3rd wk - 1st weigh in lost 6 lbs, 2nd weigh in gained 2 lbs) and firstly scales said I had lost 2 lbs, thrilled but just to make sure stepped on again and said I hadn't lost anything, twice but then stepped back on feeling v disappointed and then said I had lost 1lb. For my mentality I want to at least hold onto 1lb loss but am i being foolish and deceiving myself too much? I did also measure myself and it appears I've lost a little round my hips but not waist.

WoIsMe · 19/06/2026 12:00

Have you got the scales on a hard floor @pickle75 or have you had any other signs that they’re not reading accurately? Mine go a bit funny if the battery is getting low. That said, I wouldn’t worry too much if they aren’t showing much weight loss at this point as scales are a very poor indicator of fat loss. If your clothes feel a bit looser then that’s a better sign. I’m definitely hoiking my waist bands up a bit more than when I started.
