Can someone post which vitamins (specific brand) and fibre supplements they’re taking?

when I lost a lot of weight a few years ago (not WLI) I lost a lot of hair and suffered with constipation. I want to try and eliminate that from the get go.

WoIsMe · 14/06/2026 07:39

It’s definitely not a placebo @mumisfull and it should start working straight away. Over time, your body adapts to the medication which is why you need to increase your dose when weight loss stops. Today is four weeks for me since that weigh in when I decided I needed to try a GLP-1 medication and I have lost 6 lb! Smile

For fibre, I’ve added a kiwi to my usual food every day and I have a teaspoon of chia seeds if I feel I need more fibre. I have been mixing them with a bit of water and adding a few frozen raspberries then mixing in a pot of Greek-style yogurt. The chia seeds plump up and the raspberries defrost pretty quickly and the yogurt gives a bit of extra protein.

The warning to eat a lot of protein is dependent on how much you are eating overall. If you have high appetite suppression and are eating very little, your body breaks down muscle tissue for amino acids, for energy and, annoyingly, to preserve your fat stores! If you’re only at a moderate calorie reduction then simply making sure everything you eat contains protein should be enough. I personally think that protein quality is important so
I would prefer naturally high protein foods such as cottage cheese, eggs, meat, fish, yogurt, nuts and pulses rather than protein bars and protein powders. Some form of strength training three times a week such as weight training or bodyweight workouts sends the signal that your body needs to maintain muscle mass.

Love the sound of the kiwi and chia seeds yog. I’ll head out today to buy some bits 🙂

That’s great advice @LibbyL92 thank you

Delighted to report a 2.8lb loss in my first week! Can't believe I was disappointed at first as it didn't take me under my first desired milestone, I've got to get out of the old diet mindset. However it's very close and it's actually a huge win. I don't think I've ever lost that much in just one week.

Started on Monday, weighed today on Sunday as I was too impatient, and will jab again tomorrow.

I don't want to be that person who says it's easy because I've definitely made healthy choices all throughout the week. However I've eaten normal foods (including some of DP's homemade brownie) and the difference has been the amount. Across the week I've probably only eaten 60% of what I normally would, not through restriction but because I've felt so stuffed so quickly!

Umarshariffi · 14/06/2026 11:07

Second jab yesterday, slight headache resolved with water, bowl issues have now resolved with upping fibre so feeling more positive into second week.

1.5 stone to lose, 4lb this week, steady loss, clothes feel more comfortable already as bloating resolved with continuous progesterone now.

I’m with Voy on 3 month plan so next pen 0.5mg will cost £159, Do I pause and see if cheaper as unsure how it all works with other suppliers?

LoSlo3toGo · 14/06/2026 13:02

Well done @Astravanga- brilliant first week loss, think of how hard that is the ‘old fashioned’ way

@Umarshariffi: 4Ib is amazing ESPECIALLY as you don’t really have that much to lose

My clothes are also feeling more comfortable and it’s a wonderful feeling ☺️

@Astravanga: definitely resonate with what you say about the loss coming from eating less, it’s really helped

Went out for dinner last night with DH, my friend & her DH. I had a light & small portion of our shared dishes. My friend (who was my flatmate in our 20s) immediately asked if I’d had a big lunch while out for the day 😁 Made me laugh as DH didn’t clock that I could barely eat for 2 weeks, although he did notice me drinking more water. I think men are not very observant about some things!

@Umarshariffi: if you can pause, you can definitely get cheaper 0.5mg, I paid about £70 with bolt this month so it makes a huge difference

The way it works: you send them proof of your last prescription (so a photo of the medication label is ideal, otherwise the email confirming your order etc) and they just fulfill the order

Lots of suppliers are offering prices around 75-80£ so £159 sounds shocking

Just to add: my plan is to shop around a few different suppliers in the first months (to get new customer discount), and then use /share referral codes you get sent if I can to bring costs down

Once I’ve worked out what does is my long term dose I will try to go up to a larger pen & order eg every 2 months, stretching the pen by click counting which I know others do - that should halve the monthly cost if eg buying a 1mg pen and doing 2 months of 0.5mg

LoSlo3toGo · 14/06/2026 13:11

@Astravanga: it’s not all easy (because there is temptation out there!), but it’s a lot EASIER with these jabs - and isn’t that why we are doing it this way? I am - to have energy and headspace for other parts of my life as well as losing weight & getting healthier

Voy have a cancellation fee if you have a 3/6/12 month contract with them so you may find it’s not worth it after paying that.

Lexy2345 · 14/06/2026 13:35

I did my first jab yesterday and today I feel really nauseous. Any tips?

@LoSlo3toGo @Trumptontown I could see how I get on with 0.5mg /0.75 pens then cancel the plan as can’t see cancellation fee at the moment, then shop around?

Astravanga · 14/06/2026 18:05

@LoSlo3toGo Thanks, I am really happy with how the first week has gone!

@Lexy2345 I was a bit nauseous right after the jab, but maybe stay hydrated with sips not chugs, and have a couple of plain crackers to nibble. Strangely eating a bit helps even though it's the last thing you want to do. Hope it gets better

somethingischasingme · 14/06/2026 19:04

This is so strange. I’ve just said to DS I’ll make dinner in a minute. And when I said it I realised I ate 2 eggs scrambled on a piece of toast this morning and I’ve had nothing apart from water since. This has never, ever been me. I now understand the meaning of food noise. I’m going to have to plan eating I think. First jab was 4 days ago.

blibblibs · 14/06/2026 19:11

It is very strange @somethingischasingme , I've been very productive today rather than sitting snacking! Did get a bit peckish at about 3 and had a pear and only now thinking about what to do for tea. Also on day 4.

Astravanga · 14/06/2026 19:31

It's the most unknown feeling isn't it @somethingischasingme and @blibblibs !

I am that person who is always, always thinking of when I can eat next, ruled by cravings, eats past fullness on the daily (hence being the size of a house). And I have literally just had a small portion of chilli and rice for dinner and not at all bothered by the cake and sweets the kids brought home from their party. Don't feel deprived at all, just don't fancy it.

Nofeckingway · 14/06/2026 21:36

Not going great here. Injected on Wednesday, went out for lunch and ate normally I think. Ended up out for dinner Thursday - ate hugely , even dessert . Did feel a bit stuffed next day . So ate sparingly. Still looking for sweet things .

My head hurts with the calculations ! Think I am probably paying over the odds here for convience. No idea if I have lost anything as my scales are rubbish . But my clothes are still snug . Not even a full week yet so will keep plugging away . Feeling a bit queasy.

LoSlo3toGo · 14/06/2026 22:36

@somethingischasingme: that sounds like quite an effect! I’m enjoying having more headspace as less time thinking about food!

LoSlo3toGo · 14/06/2026 22:41

@Nofeckingway: the first month dose (0.25mg) is just meant to get your body used to the medication/avoid side effects from a higher dose without preparation

Some of us are clearly feeling effects (for me they come & go, some days I eat close to my ‘old’ amounts and have a snack, but overall I eat less). However, if you are not feeling much effect or losing weight that’s a sign that when your 1st 4 weeks are up that you should up the dose to 0.5mg, it doesn’t mean that a different dose won’t work for you

Im planning to go slow with increasing my dose, but if my body adapts so I’m not getting any effect or losing weight I’ll also be putting up my dose - and the question is not of but when. It think it will take at least a couple of months to see a really noticeable weight loss

2 days after the jab and not seen any real side effects yet. I do feel most of the time but not in a normal way.

I have eaten less, fingers crossed it csrry on into the week

StarCourt · 15/06/2026 10:06

Hi all my Wegovy is arriving today. Should I have a day of clean eating before injecting tomorrow?

Emowoman90 · 15/06/2026 10:24

Good morning all, I'm doing my second dose this afternoon as my last was Monday afternoon, my first week on wegovy was really good I've done a lot of exercising that I could fit in after my morning or afternoon jobs, I was a bit nauseous on a morning but not everyday, I've had a headache twice, food noise completely went till yesterday but I didn't listen too it!, is this a usual thing for anyone? Does it seem to creep back when your ready for the next dose?, I weighed myself before my morning job and I've lost 2.5lbs im guessing water weight but I'm definitely happy 😊.

WoIsMe · 15/06/2026 10:57

No need to @StarCourt I would start your first dose and see how you go. I didn’t eat amazingly well when I first started because I was worried about side effects so I probably ate less healthily but fewer calories in my first three weeks. I’m in week 4 now and trying to get back to a healthier diet by planning my meals.

I really feel that so much has changed since starting this medication. I’m still hungry, I’m enjoying food more - except I can’t seem to manage spicy food as it tastes spicier than before. But my life isn’t revolving around food. I got called out before I could have breakfast today and I felt hungry but I could manage, whereas before I would have been too hungry to concentrate on anything. The weird thing is that I have absolutely no interest in chocolate any more. I hadn’t realised how much of an addiction I had to it.
