I did my first jab on 27 May and am 3.5 pounds down … would love to chat if anyone else is starting around now

Ps one thing I find confusing is why you have to put the pen in the fridge to begin with but then it says you don’t have to store it in the fridge after that? What is everyone doing? Mine is hidden behind a jar of stem ginger (rarely touched unless we’re making a ginger cake!) as don’t want the kids to find it. Would be easier to store elsewhere really.

@Plinketyplonks: bit of a late reply, the reason to store the unused pen in the fridge is to stop the drug degrading and losing efficacy

once it’s open the clock is ticking so you can keep it at room temp as you use it over the 4 week life of the pen

@pickle75: sorry to hear you are having a low day, this was me yesterday. After my dramatic loss (6 pounds in 1st 10 days), my weight has rebounded up a bit too .. a couple of pounds (but still less than my start point)

@WoIsMe- thanks for sharing that you had the same!

I think in my case the extra weight is me being properly hydrated & also that my GI tract is not clearing as quickly (when I mentioned this to DH he suggested I ‘retain my romantic mystery’ and keep this info to myself 😆)

Am finding that a daily fybogel is really helping me here - I’ve bought a cheaper substitute on Amazon too as I think I will need to keep using these as I go up doses, despite being a vegetarian and eating lots of fibre

Had an extra bowl of fruit as a snack today and thinking I may need to stay off bread for a while

Also: my next jab arrived today - from Bolt

No ice pack, I put it straight on the fridge and as it was at room temp for less than 24h I’m sure it will be fine

I bought 0.5mg … I’ll probably count clicks to stick to 0.25 or increase slowly. It’s 4x 0.5 so 2mg

I worked out that I could do
1st dose 0.3
2nd 0.35
3rd. 0.4
4th dose 0.45
5th dose 0.5

to total 2.0 over 5 weeks not 4 and a gradual build up … let’s see how the next 2 weeks go and I will take it from there

I’m looking forward to wearing lovely clothes too, I have so many gorgeous dresses that I want to wear. I’m utterly fed up with being overweight and I don’t want to accept that it’s inevitable now that I’m older.
I’m delighted to have found this thread 💕

Hi @Lexy2345- me too , I have beautiful and complete wardrobes in sizes 18,16,14 and a few 12s hanging around from 15 years ago!!

looking forward to getting some wear out them after too long being packed away

@LoSlo3toGo what does counting clicks mean?

WoIsMe · 12/06/2026 16:54

@LoSlo3toGo what does counting clicks mean?

Instead of turning the pen to do a full dose, you click it round 1 click at a time to count out the amount you need

Ive not done it myself but it’s something people do especially to use a larger pen to give smaller doses (to cut costs) or build up doses slowly

I have done the first jab so I’m in - fingers crossed side effects won’t be too bad. Good luck everyone!

Sunrisemouse · 12/06/2026 20:44

Can I join you, took my first jab this evening. For some reason have been a bit worried about the possible side effects.

I have a lot to lose, around 8 stone. I did lose 4 stone during covid but slowly put it back on. I really want maintain good habits this time round, I will start calorie counting with myfitnesspal again.

If you get the headache or fatigue side effects donthey come on quite quickly? As in next day?

Thanks

Sanch1 · 12/06/2026 21:29

I jabbed in the evening, had no side effects so far, started Tuesday night. You may not get any. Good luck!

mumisfull · 12/06/2026 22:39

I did my first jab tonight so would love to join you all. I’m deliberately trying not to think about side effects as I know I’m likely to talk myself into them 😁
Surprised how easy the injection was - I barely felt it.

Lexy2345 · 13/06/2026 07:14

I’ve decided not to wait until Monday and I’ve jabbed this morning. I’m nervous now. I’ve just weighed myself though and it’s not good. Hopefully next Saturday will be encouraging rather than depressing.

LoSlo3toGo · 13/06/2026 08:55

Hi @Sunrisemouse& @mumisfull(good use name 😁) - great to have you on this journey :)

@Lexy2345: I had a good loss in week 1, probably some of it water but it’s a good start so wishing you the same

OP posts:
LoSlo3toGo · 13/06/2026 09:05

@mumisfull, @Sanch1: everyone is different but I think side effects at these low starter doses are not particularly common. I was worried before too but less so now nothing has happened

I had nothing in week one (felt much fuller though)

This week I felt slightly tired & also felt the need for more fibre! Easily solved though - and staying hydrated seems to be really important on Wegovy, min 2l a day of water which is a change for me

3 jabs in for me … I get fuller quicker but can definitely still eat

Still pondering what dose for next month but a lot depends on how it goes in the next week or two I guess

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

We're going out for the day, and I have packed us a healthy picnic - usually we'd get fish and chips, or a pub lunch. So lots of fruit, salad and a bit of protein.
Have a good weekend everyone, onwards and downwards (on the scales) 😍

DecisionTime123 · 13/06/2026 12:20

can I ask what suppliers you are all using? I've tried to register with Bolt and it all went wrong, some sort of error on the app still glitching after over a week and they dont seem to be able to sort it out so need to find someone else. Can anyone recommend a supplier? Is Bolt the cheapest by far?

WoIsMe · 13/06/2026 12:27

I’m on MedExpress paying £99 plus £3.95 shipping.

LoSlo3toGo · 13/06/2026 12:56

@DecisionTime123: you would be able to get your first month for around £60 - look on the igovy website

Just to add @DecisionTime123: the Bolt website froze for me but I called them and it was sorted in 5 minutes so thar may be worth doing

I’ve gone with Swift Dr - I liked that there was the option of a video consultation with an actual dr, not a bot, and they are a maintenance prescriber as I don’t want to be forced off if I don’t want to. Everything has gone through v smoothly so far with them. So far I’m feeling ok, but dreadful taste in mouth. Peppermint oil capsules help a bit but there’s de& something going on.

Choice4567 · 13/06/2026 20:34

Hi, can I join! Been approved today so now waiting for it to come into boots so I can collect. I’m nervous! Not so much for the side effects, but I’ve pinned all my hopes on this and I don’t want to not lose anything

I’ve lost 3 stone by myself, 2.5 to go. But it’s been a year of losing and gaining the same half stone!

I so want the injections to work!

LibbyL92 · 13/06/2026 20:51

Hello! Can I join you all?

I’ve just ordered and been approved in under 10mins from swift. I’m so so excited, but scared!

many advice for that first jab?? Can’t seem to find any decent videos!

mumisfull · 13/06/2026 22:28

@LibbyL92 i did my first injection yesterday and it really was okay. I didn’t feel the needle go in or out which amazed me. I’d been giving myself a talking to about it being a sharp scratch like in a blood test but it was so easy.

I think it must be placebo but I’ve definitely not felt hungry today and I’ve not rummaged in the cupboards for something to eat at all. I’m starting to wonder about making sure I eat enough protein and fibre if anyone has any tips?

@mumisfull: it’s not a placebo, my first dose kicked in overnight too & I got fuller so much faster!

Protein - just make sure that it’s in every meal.
Fibre - loads of fruit & veg, whole grains, seeds etc

I’ve been taking fibre supplements and like them a lot
