I’ve lost half a stone so far and am just about to do my 4th jab tonight. I’m really pleased as all of the food noises telling me to eat a packet of Haribo in the car, or to pick up cake in Morrisons have gone. It doesn’t even cross my mind!
Im staying on 0.25mg for my next pen. It’s working so I’ll stay on it until it doesn’t any more!
I’m thinking of keeping with the jabs over my holidays too. Just thinking about the best way to store it and take on the plane.

Lexy2345 · 04/07/2026 07:08

4th jab today and I’ve lost 4.5kg since starting, which I’m pleased about. I’m staying on 0.25 as well because my appetite has definitely shrunk and my chocolate and cheese addiction has gone. I’ve had the odd glass of wine and bit of cheese but the urge to eat and eat is no more. Holy cow, it’s working!!

I’ve got a family party this weekend, but I’m confident that I won’t want to eat ALL the food and drink ALL the Pimms.

@mumisfullyou can get insulated pouches for storing insulin syringes off Amazon, would that work?

WoIsMe · 05/07/2026 06:58

It’s my seventh weigh in this week and I’ve lost another half a pound so down seven-and-a-half pounds overall. Grin I have seen a lower number on the scales during the week so I’m confident I’ll see another loss next Sunday.

I have one more 0.25 mg jab - my eighth - on Tuesday and then I’m going to give 0.5 mg a go. I was hoping to stay on the lowest dose but I’m still making some bad food choices and I want to try and get a handle on that. I don’t want to / can’t afford to stay on this medication for maintenance so I need to work hard on establishing good eating patterns and habits while I have the benefit of the reduction in food noise. I’ve been paying more attention to food labelling and it can be quite scary how many calories are in some foods. I went out for lunch on Thursday and I was going to have a burger before I saw in the menu that the meal was over a thousand calories! No wonder people put on weight.

TerrorAustralis · 05/07/2026 13:33

My 15 year old confirmed I have death breath. He told me to brush my teeth earlier when giving me a hug. Nothing like a teenager to bring you down a peg or two!

I’ve also had mild reflux & burps which is annoying, but not unexpected.

How is everyone feeling (no pun intended) about the feelings of fullness? I am consciously eating smaller servings and not going for seconds, zero snacking. But I find the fullness creeps up slowly after finishing a meal and can be quite distracting and frankly annoying. It’s hard to ignore - I feel like I’m constantly conscious of it.

Can I ask you June starters if any of you found the food suppression still strong after the first week and if you stalled your second injection? My 2nd due tomorrow but honestly dont think the first has waned yet.

WoIsMe · 05/07/2026 19:13

@TerrorAustralis I don’t feel particularly full, more that I’m less interested in food after a certain point.

@TeddySpaghetti Wegovy isn’t like Mounjaro where the effect has worn off by your next injection day. You should feel pretty much the same every day of the week as Wegovy has a longer half life.

Thanks. I've read somewhere here that the effects build week on week and I don't think I want stronger resistance than I'm feeling now

WoIsMe · 05/07/2026 19:38

You have 30 days to use the syringes once opened so you could easily stretch it out to 9 or 10 days and still stay within the storage advice. Note as well that it takes a couple of days for the medication to diffuse out of the subcutaneous tissue so the dose doesn’t hit you all at once when you do the injection.

@TeddySpaghetti: I had good suppression for 1st 2 weeks but carried on with 0.25

Just as well because it wore off a lot in weeks 3&4

The first month is a low dose so I would personally not stretch it out as it needs to build up the level circulating in your systems

Re the effects wearing off - I think it varies, for me it was wearing off noticeably by day 5 on 0.25, now that I’m in the second month I feel it’s more stable

I've just opened my second pen and jabbed 0.5mg.

Finding it difficult to describe how I have found the first month as I have indeed lost some weight, but have also found it so easy to forget what it's like to have the constant food noise! It's like having a runny nose or an itch, when everything's working properly you forget what it's like!

Anyway I decided to go up to the 0.5 dose as it was recommended. My goal for the next week is to keep making healthier choices in amongst summer travel and heat. Drinking loads of water as I find myself very thirsty.

Good luck to all this week!

LoSlo3toGo · 07/07/2026 07:11

Hi @Astravanga: yes, after a month now the Wegovy is a bit more ‘even’ and doing its job so I can make better choices

looking forward to losing a bit in this heat too!

OP posts:
Astravanga · 07/07/2026 08:10

Yes @LoSlo3toGo I feel the same, that it's doing its job quite evenly and regularly. Starting to learn the new hunger signals too, and distinguishing them from just being bored or emotional.

Happy to report I've lost (and kept off!) just over 6lbs in the first four weeks. This may not be the most dramatic loss but it's really good for me and I hope I never see those 6lbs again 😂

mumisfull · 07/07/2026 08:34

@Astravanga that’s a great loss. I can’t believe how much Wegovy is helping me not have food as my first response to any emotion. I’ve always been a sugar addict and would mindlessly eat a bag of Haribo in the car. It’s not even a consideration now. And I don’t even miss it!
Quite honestly, I would stay on the jabs for the rest of my life to keep this feeling. (Sadly money might not allow it!)

LoSlo3toGo · 07/07/2026 08:55

Well, update from my side

I’m astonished to report that I lost half a pound after my holiday- it’s not a lot, but I was expecting a gain! It’s encouraging and also a reminder that between portion sizes & making somewhat more sensible choices this drug is helping me make progress even when eating out etc

Hoping for another 5 pounds off in July now ☺️

LoSlo3toGo · 07/07/2026 08:57

@Astravanga: great start! I’m about 5.5 down in month 1

@mumisfull- same here, nice having more headspace:)

Sanch1 · 07/07/2026 11:33

That's great @LoSlo3toGo ! If I could go on holiday in August and only put on half what I normally do I'd be happy, to lose would really be miraculous ha ha!

First jab at 0.5 tonight so a bit nervous as have not had any side effects so far other than maybe a bit of fatigue.

TerrorAustralis · 07/07/2026 13:17

Well done on all the losses team June Starters!

Third jab due tomorrow. I can really feel the effects waning today. I’ve been quite hungry, but fortunately have been able to notice it and the forget about it without it bothering me or needing to snack.

LoSlo3toGo · 07/07/2026 13:37

Thanks @Sanch1

@TerrorAustralis- I was feeling the ‘wear off’ in weeks 3 & 4 too. I think the combo of levels building up over time & a slightly increased dose (I’ve gone to 0.4 from 0.25) has helped

TerrorAustralis · 07/07/2026 15:23

Interesting @LoSlo3toGo. I’m toying with the idea of a slightly higher dose tomorrow and for the fourth dose.

I hate the idea of wasting what will be left in the pen as much as wanting to see how I feel on the higher dose.

@terror- I had 10 clicks left in the 0.25mg pen which is approx 0.02mg

i injected that and a lower dose out of my 0.5mg pen

Tbh - re waste it’s not even 10% of a 0.25mg dose but I hate waste too 😂

My drivers were - not wanting to risk getting constipated with an increased dose & planning to stretch my 0.5mg pen to 5 weeks not 4 (and then take 0.5mg out of a 1mg pen next month)

OP posts:
TerrorAustralis · 08/07/2026 01:32

I realised there’s almost no spare in the pen I have anyway.

I realised the 0.25 refers to 0.25mg dosage of semaglutide, and not 0.25mL of liquid. Each dose is 0.37mL of liquid, so in my pen (1.5mL) there is barely anything left over after the test click when you put a new needle on. If there is anything left after my final dose next week I will use it then.

Unfortunately only 200 grams down this week, but another 1cm off my waist. I am disappointed, but at least it’s a move in the right direction.

blibblibs · 08/07/2026 07:01

I've just finished my first pen! 10.5lb down over the last four weeks which is great but I'm not really noticing much difference in myself. I'll take measurements tonight though.
I do notice I'm not making such good food choices on my last two days and the after work hunger is there on those days. I took the bit that was left over in the pen last week which made no difference, but it's such a small amount I wasn't really expecting it to.
I've got a 0.25 pen again so we'll see how it goes for the next four weeks but unfortunately I'll start a new pen the day I go on holiday next month and I'm not sure that'll be the best time to go up a dose.

WoIsMe · 08/07/2026 10:03

Well done @blibblibs10.5 lb is really good! They say you don’t notice a difference until you’ve lost a stone.

CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair · 08/07/2026 10:42

I’ve just taken my 5th jab last night (moved up to 0.5). I haven’t felt much suppression but get fuller much quicker. I’ve lost 8lbs. Feel very bloated and constipated.
