Well done @blibblibs! 10.5 pounds is great

re day 6/7 - apparently during trials it was most effective to dose every 5 days, but the manufacturers didn’t want to release it on a 5 day cycle as people forget

This has worn off for me now I’ve been on it a few more weeks (will be 6 weeks today) but if it carries on for you then you might look into dosing eg twice a week in future

I think I’d give it 8-12 weeks to build up at least before experimenting though!

@CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair: great loss :) Hopefully the constipation will wear off as you get used to the dose. Fybogel really helped me when I was having issues a few weeks ago (plus water & walking)

Hi all, I've now taken my 2nd jab with 0.5 but I am finding effects to be minimal - feels like normal eating, normal food noise, cravings etc If I'm honest, it's making me feel disheartened - financially I had not wanted to go up dosages too much. But also now having made the "commitment" to go on WLIs and the initial buzz of doing so, I am also now thinking perhaps I should move over to Mounjaro for short term use? More money but for hopefully less time.

My other issue is, this week it's occurred that I think Wegovy is making my HRT less effective. Last week, couldn't work out why i was feel off the chart anxious etc and getting it again this week (main reason for going on HRT to start with as I'm not a naturally anxious person) - have phone appt with GP tomorrow to discuss. But wondered if those also on HRT have noticed any adverse effects since being on Wegovy?

TerrorAustralis · 08/07/2026 13:25

@pickle75 I’ve been on HRT for ages and haven’t noticed any difference, but I’m only 2 weeks in.

@LoSlo3toGo that is really interesting about the 5 day finding. I was thinking about taking a dose a day or two early, but didn’t know this was actually backed by research!

LoSlo3toGo · 08/07/2026 13:40

@pickle- wegovy slows digestion so any oral meds may have a different absorption rate (I don’t think hrt is usually given as oral meds though?)

Yes, I'm currently on oestrogen gel and progesterone tablets (so the latter will be potentially impacted)

LoSlo3toGo · 08/07/2026 14:57

@pickle75: I think it’s ok and normal to be disappointed with weight loss on 0.5mg, the dose to lose weight over a sustained period is 1.0 or 1.7mg , so you are still building up

I think it’s also reasonable to consider MJ but you need to look into it

I’ve read up quite a bit on WLI (here, Reddit, articles, and a couple of books and podcasts)

MJ can be more effective for some people as it works on 2 pathways (Wegovy only on one of those)

it seems some people respond to Wegovy & lose weight. if those people need to come off WLI and go back on - Wegovy is less effective for some & MJ can then be more effective then

For people who have been on MJ -seems Wegovy doesn’t do much for them

So - I think you need to give it time, see if Wegovy will work for you, & if not switch to MJ but realise that you can’t readily switch back to Wegovy

I forget your dosage - 0.25 & 0.5 are the loading doses, I think a month at 1.0 will tell you if it’s going to work well for you … and we are all still in the building up phase so far!

I haven’t noticed any difference in my HRT treatment @pickle75I have oestrogen patches and progesterone capsules. I have noticed that I need to take my sleeping pills much earlier before they take effect otherwise I’m still groggy in the morning.

Sanch1 · 10/07/2026 07:17

Did anyone else start at a lower BMI and get prescribed off label? I started at BMI 28 and was told I’d only get the two lowest doses. Now Med Express have emailed to say I can have a consultation to go up to 1.0 next time.

They may realise their mistake when I try but I think I will depending on how much it is. Took my first 0.5 on Tuesday and can’t say it’s felt any different. Still got no good noise but just not getting the suppression or fullness at all really.

How is everyone else getting on this week?

Astravanga · 10/07/2026 17:13

@Sanch1 Well its up to you, how do you feel about not having the food noise? For me it's revolutionary, I can't believe I can go about my daily life without trying with all my might not to rush towards the nearest junk food...all day long! It took up so much effort and mental space to eat relatively normally. And even then I was clearly not that successful as I got to 4 stone overweight 😆 but it's a bit different for everyone.

Having such hot weather this week has made me drink loads of water which has definitely made me feel more well and helped with weight loss I'm sure. I have enjoyed some different cuisines while away but not even had the thought of endless snacking or eating.

Sanch1 · 10/07/2026 21:45

Well that is a fair point. Food noise has always been the biggest thing for me, just so exhausting and tiresome. And it’s great not having it. Kind of hopes I’d be able to eat less at mealtimes and lose more than my normal 1lb a week. I will see how I go for a couple weeks on 0.5

Trumptontown · 11/07/2026 08:54

How’s everyone getting on?

I’ve currently lost 1/2 a stone and I did my 3rd 0.5 injection on Thursday. Yes it’s slow going but I’m delighted to have any weight loss at all, given I’ve spent the last eight months before the WLI just stuck at the same weight. Very minimal side effects which seem to have abated now (constipation and some tiredness).

Little bit nervous about going up to the next dose as it’s double the current one but hopeful I’ll continue to see good results with it.

LoSlo3toGo · 12/07/2026 10:51

Weighed in today & happy to report another 1 pound loss… 6 pounds over 6 weeks now (including a holiday). it’s been very slow and steady but a few clothes are feeling better

I don’t feel I have huge suppression but I do think it’s evening out my blood sugar etc

It’s going more slowly than I had hoped BUT tbh I haven’t really been focused on a healthy eating plan (have had ice cream most days etc) so I guess that’s to be expected. I think I can stay at this sort of dose for a while & focus on making better food choices

Astravanga · 12/07/2026 13:19

I feel much the same @LoSlo3toGo I am just over a lb down this week but it's been hot as hell and I've been away too (not loads more food but richer food) so actually not bad compared to life 'before Wegovy'.

Part of me wishes it would all drop off but I know there are risks with that and a steady decrease is better overall if it's off forever. I'm back to normal life this coming week and really going to focus in on bringing a healthy lunch every day.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend x

Nofeckingway · 12/07/2026 15:41

Second week on .05. Any remedies for the nausea . Worst bit is headache with it.

Plinketyplonks · 12/07/2026 17:12

I’m due my third dose of 0.5 tomorrow. Not particularly loving it, at times I have nausea and yesterday a horrible anxious feeling. I’m going to do the third and fourth dose of 0.5 and then decide whether to continue. Weight loss has been minimal, maybe 3 or 4 pounds but that’s the kind of loss fhat could just be fluctuations/perhaps just eating a bit less sue to be on holiday in a hot country.

Plinketyplonks · 13/07/2026 07:03

Other recent side effect not loving is dry mouth and bad breath. Yuck! Obv drinking lots of water to compensate.

WoIsMe · 13/07/2026 08:37

I did my eight-week weigh-in and I’m down eight pounds overall! It was faster in the first four weeks then slowed to half a pound per week for the second four weeks so I think it’s a good time to move up to the 0.5 mg dose. I’m hoping the next couple of months will be easier food wise with school ending and not having to rush around taking the children to clubs etc. On the other hand, I’m visiting my mum at the end of the month and she’s a bit of a feeder!

Emowoman90 · 13/07/2026 16:10

Tell me I'm not going mad and I just need my bloods checking maybe, I understand wegovy or any weight loss jab can cause hair loss, I've noticed some hair loss from my head but I'm also seeing hair loss from my nostrils 😂, it sounds so daft and I get we can lose hair anywhere and at any point but 5 or 6 after one blow in a tissue is that not excessive?, is it just me?. I can feel an itch up nose and I can itch it and I've got 4 or 5 nose hair on my tissue it's crazy.

LoSlo3toGo · 13/07/2026 16:37

@Emowoman90: seems too early for hair loss to me (that comes with months of too low calories)

Just try to keep up protein and don’t drop your cals very low (IIRC you’ve had pretty big losses so must be in quite a deficit)

Astravanga · 14/07/2026 08:34

I seem to have put on a lb again which is annoying as I've been feeling so good about myself..channelling all the Mumsnet weight loss wisdom and not letting a pound here or there derail me!

Into second week of 0.5 and definitely much more suppression and early fullness.

Hope all are doing well x

blibblibs · 14/07/2026 18:13

These are my hard days, suppression isn't so good and bad snacking habits creep back in.
I'm still on 0.25 and it's great for the first 5 days. I take my 6th dose tomorrow so I've still got 2 more weeks to decide what I'm going to do, but I think I might try and stick with it and learn better habits on my hard days as I don't want to be taking it forever and for now I'm still losing on average 2lbs a week.

JoyousAsOtters · 14/07/2026 23:03

So I’m having my first week where the scales aren’t really moving and I have felt my sweet tooth returning. I just did my first jab of my second 0.25 pen, will be doing second injection this week, but wondering if I should have gone up to 0.5? I’m reluctant to increase dose because I don’t want nausea and Grim Taste to get worse. Anyone had a stall but not needed to increase dose?
and what about maybe counting clicks to increase to 0.37 rather than jumping to 0.5?

WoIsMe · 15/07/2026 07:15

I wouldn’t make any changes at this point @JoyousAsOtters it’s completely normal for weight loss to stall every so often.

TerrorAustralis · 15/07/2026 11:24

@JoyousAsOtters I have just finished my first pen today. I considered staying on 0.25, but decided to go up to 0.5. I don’t feel like the effects are as strong as I want them to be. I am hoping for increased appetite suppression.

Weigh in today and waist is the same, but weight has gone up. I’m not concerned because I’m away from home and using different scales. Plus I know some of it is water weight. I had some salty soup last night and woke up with fingers swollen like fat sausages.
