My first jabs arrived today. Thinking of starting Wednesday which is technically end of April but wanted to start a new group for anyone starting soon!

Nervous but kind of excited for good results. Watched a YouTube video instruction for the pen before, I might get my husband to do it for me!!

Anyone want to join me and share / support each other??

@7238SM I have mine on a Friday because I want suppression to be high over the weekend. Just find this is time where I’m most likely to cheat and over eat.

next weekend I have a party on the Saturday night and may want a couple of alcoholic drinks so I think I will delay my jab and do it on the Sunday instead. I don’t think there’s any harm in delaying it a day or 2 to move it to a day you want just be wary that you’ll probably be a lot hungrier on the extra days .

I take mine Sunday morning, as thats my admin 'stats and stabs' time!

Im not sure I notice a fluctuation in suppression as my ADHD/ASD can make me lose any track of time so its quite common for me to go hours without eating. I am making a concious effort to drink though. I had one moment midweek - maybe Thursday, when I had a little fridge rummage but only came out with 2 bits of cheese, so it wasnt biscuits. It was noticible that it WAS food noise because I would previously have said I didnt experience it. But I must have done.
I have 1200 calories as my target and Im finding that pretty OK. In fact it feels like more actual food than I used to have. Im eating greek yoghurt and fruit with milk thistle seeds for breakfast, or scrambled eggs with salmon. Lunch I sometimes miss, or maybe a salad with some kind of fish/seafood/chicken or cottage cheese. Dinner we have a gousto meal most days, and I can make sure I order ones which are not too calorie heavy.
If I forget to eat lunch or Im working at the farm and run through, I might make a protein shake and have it about 4 and then have dinner later in the evening.

Im not feeling hungry but likewise Im not struggling to eat when I make food. Yesterday I was running a foraging course and was quite happy to have quite a small bit of it, rather than a big plate full. I ate more of the foraged greens than the wild garlic pesto pasta with nettles. No way really to put that in the tracker though unfortunately as rosebay willow, nettles and hogweed shoots arent on the list!

On the suppression front, can I ask if anyone else on 2.5 is not really experiencing much appetite suppression?

I feel like my first week was almost a placebo; believing my appetite was suppressed, but actually I’m basically just (a) eating more protein and (b) snacking less. But ultimately probably consuming the same number of calories, but now during meals rather than via continuous snacking.

I had third 2.5 jab last night. Was really hungry yesterday as made an effort to eat less. Also trying to eat less today, but still hungry and it’s manifesting pretty much like pre-MJ feeling of depletion (headache, feeling I might pass out) when I am not eating a decent amount.

Whilst I’m not quite eating as healthily as @NettleTea your amazing foraged food, I basically do eat mainly wholefoods and don’t think I’ve had a sugar since starting on glps. (Anyway not big on eating sugar) Also I don’t drink alcohol. So feeling quite miffed atm as wondering if I am one of those people who won’t get any weight loss out of glps.

I can't figure out if I am experiencing suppression, or it's a placebo effect coupled with the increased water intake. I felt very full for the first 2 days and a bit nauseous, but that seems to have waned today.

Last night I wasn't able to eat all of my dinner, and it was maybe half the portion I would normally eat, but also it wasn't something I particularly enjoy, so that may have been it. I would much have preferred @NettleTea's pesto pasta! However, I have only had 3 very small glasses of wine across Friday/Saturday night, which is very unusual. I didn't even finish the third one.

I used MFP yesterday to track my calories, and think I came in at just under 1,200, although I had to guestimate how much of dinner I had eaten. Such a ballache weighing and measuring everything though. I'm going to struggle with protein as I don't eat meat, and positively loathe yogurt and smoothies, so this is going to be tricky. I've bought some cottage cheese, but I don't really like that either! On the plus side - I don't have a sweet tooth so chocolate, cakes and biscuits are not a problem for me, it's bread and crisps that are my nemesis. I am also a huge drinker of peppermint tea anyway, as I went off milk in tea years ago, so I don't need to wean myself off the Yorkshire Gold.

I jab on a Tuesday evening so that I have decent(ish) suppression by the weekend - not enough that I can’t enjoy any plans we may have. But having said that side effect wise I’ve been very lucky really and haven’t suffered much that a rennie can’t solve! As it’s wearing off I find it easier to keep control on a Monday and then Tuesday before I jab I am being careful what I eat and drink so as not to interfere with the jab so Tuesdays seem to work for me

Guys… I haven’t pooped since Saturday afternoon. Help!

I was told to take lactulose as it keeps it soft but I'm struggling to keep going as I'm not really eating a lot - really not enjoying food and finding it a bit bland and tasteless, could quite easily go without eating.

I used to suffer from constipation but recently had a CT colonography and the stuff they give you to empty you out had made a significant change to my stomach but now I'm back to square one. I wouldn't start the Mounjaro until I'd got the all clear from the scan.

I have so much to lose and it's very slow. 4 jabs and 6lbs lost, a bit disappointed. Had terrible acid after 1st jab. I can also see that I have a golden dose left in my pen but I have to hand them back to the pharmacist and they will know

I've been kept on the 2.5 and really am not looking forward to the 5ml in case all the acid reflux comes back.

I am cold a lot of the time and do feel like I'm recovering from a vomiting bug in that my stomach is delicate.

I’m also jabbing on Thursday. Have only done one so far and have had good suppression so far but terrible heart burn. But I was struggling with this before which is a I’ve motivator to change diet and lose weight for me. I have my methotrexate jab on a Sunday so will hopefully not feel too rough tomorrow. I am using MFP and my calorie limit is 1,400 which is fine. Really sorting out my diet away from high fat food to being more balanced. I am very worried about gallstones so am going slowly.

@madeinthe80z sounds like you have a good jab routine going there. How’s the 💩 situation?

@Purplebunnie sounds like you’ve been juggling a lot of tricky health stuff. I can relate. I’m also feeling absolutely freezing cold, worse than usual and I’m famous for wearing hats and scarves indoors before MJ. Hope the weather improves soon!! And hope you don’t get the acid reflux back.

Ah yes sorry I didn’t report back did I?! Well Wednesday (24 hours after my jab) I cleverly decided to drink whilst away with work on very little food, so woke up middle of the night that night and let’s just say, it happened haha. (But it had been 4.5 days and I was getting concerned!) Since then, I’ve added chia seeds, more fruit and more water into the diet and I’ve managed to go the last 2 days so I’m hoping I’ve got it under control now. I’ve also bought a load of kiwis!

@madeinthe80z Do you use a squatty potty? Anything to lift your feet into more of a squat position will help massively when pooing. Bricks, large tins or small stools (no pun, the type children step up onto) can all be used. You can also buy discreet, fold away types.

@KittensAndCupcakes MFP is the My Fitness Pal app. Which you can use to log your food and measure the fat, protein and carbs. It’s pretty good. My problem is that it remembers me from 2016 when I was 54kg. Hahahaha! Anyway will be back to that eventually. I upgraded to premium so I can scan barcodes which makes food logging easier. Have ordered a couple of recipe books for more ideas as I am also cooking for DH…

Ha! I just saw on my MFP back in 2018 when I was 9st 7lbs. Happy days...
I don't pay for premium, and I can still scan barcodes though. I do have to wade through a load of annoying pop-ups though.

I don’t have one per se but I do have a stool in my loo because the kids still use it so I do use it every now and again. I would say though that the constipation last week wasn’t too bad symptom wise I genuinely just didnt feel the need to go. It only felt like I ‘might’ have the feeling on the Wednesday so I wasn’t wanting or needing to sit and try if you know what I mean haha what a lovely topic!!

Today is my weigh in… I’m 12 stone and 1/2lb down from 12st 5lbs last Monday. I’m just delighted with that. Can’t wait to see the numbers starting with 11. I always thought my target weight would be 11 stone but I’m wondering now where my target should be. I guess I’ll see how I look/ feel / if my holiday clothes fit again.

This will be my 3rd jab today. I’ll need to decide what dosage I’m staying on for my next pen. Very undecided about what to do there.

Re protein goals, I started buying the flavoured packets of chicken slices from Lidl’s (other supermarkets available 😅) and taking that to work for lunch. No prep required, easy to grab and something like 40g of protein per packet. I also swapped my yogurt to the protein yogurt pots.

Sympathy from me @KittensAndCupcakes I think it’s usual to go up and down a bit though. Do you weigh weekly or more frequently?

I’m ok with drinking loads of water but I’m struggling with the protein and am going to have to try and increase that. The target seems so high. Weigh in day and jab 3 tomorrow for me.

Where do I find my protein ‘target’? Wasn’t aware I had one… although do try and eat protein

@UntilTheVeryEnd I’m exact same weight as you, “official” weigh in day as Friday, was hoping I might have dipped under the 12 stone mark over the weekend but have fluctuated between 12st 0.25/12st 0.5. Jab # 4 tonight though so hopefully will be below the 12 stone by the end of the week 🤞🏻🤞🏻feels like a big deal moving down into the 11 stones!

day after dose today. I had a not very good quality steak and triple cooked chips last night and my god my body didnt like that. woke in the night with stomach ache and woke this morning feeling really sick, although alieviated when I sat up and did a series of the worlds biggest burps ever and a giant fart.

Too greasy I guess. and the weight had gone back up a bit this morning. So am having a nice bowl of yoghurt and bluebesrries and hoping it passes as am working doing the changeover at our glampingsite this morning. At least I can fart into the woodland.,...
