My first jabs arrived today. Thinking of starting Wednesday which is technically end of April but wanted to start a new group for anyone starting soon!

Nervous but kind of excited for good results. Watched a YouTube video instruction for the pen before, I might get my husband to do it for me!!

Anyone want to join me and share / support each other??

I’ve been eating a lot of hard boiled eggs to help with the protein. Although sometimes I’ll just have 2 for lunch with a bit of salad but find it hard to finish the second one. I’m also having protein shake most days. The ready made ones rather than making my own. Lidl do some which are 35g.

Tulipwood · 02/06/2026 14:31

I take back what I said, my suppression has been through the roof today.

Can I ask what everyone is eating for lunches? I’m feeling a bit over cottage cheese which had been my go to

I've seen these. Do you know how much sugar they have, I'm trying to keep my sugar down?

I'm on day 5 and appetite has started coming back.

Also my sleep has been appalling the whole 5 days.

NettleTea · 02/06/2026 18:42

my sleep has been rubbish this week - its a pain, its hard to know if its my CPAP, my traditional awful sleep, or the MJ.

and Im waking up at about 6-6.30 every day

suneetime · 02/06/2026 18:47

@MrsO2b those Lidl shakes are about 5% sugar. So around 16g sugar per bottle. Not great, but I’m already watching calories, protein and am intermittent fasting too so I’m not worried about tracking my sugar. Yet!

Cece92 · 02/06/2026 19:54

I’m still suffering with side effects 4 days in. Head ache this evening but had dizziness at around 3 o clock whilst at Pyshio I’ve come home and laid down all evening. I do t mind continuing with the nausea but the dizzy head is driving me nuts. I’m hydrated and had some lucozade incase I needed sugar but nothing. I’ve asked the doctor if they can give me anything for it it feels like vertigo xx

NettleTea · 02/06/2026 20:02

Please can you share any good, easy sources of protein. I’m struggling for ideas and have stopped getting to 100 per day, certainly not 112 which is the ideal amount.

eggs
chicken
meat
greek yoghurt!

Hey Twin! I’m doing ok… although week 3 side effects have been a bit more manic than previous weeks. Let’s just say my toileting has gone completely the other way 🥴 I’ve just ordered my second pen and decided to stay at 2.5mg. I’m getting good suppression and side effects as “manageable” - not sure I fancy 5mg side effects just now hahaha.

Without our stats being identical, it’s interesting for me to see that you’ve picked 10 stone as your goal weight. I hadn’t given it much thought… I thought 11 might be fine, but at the top end of “healthy” To be honest, I’ve not been close to 10 in a long time so not sure how that would look 👀

How are you getting on? ☺️

Sorry for disappearing.

I am doing ok. My jab day is Saturday and I feel hungrier Thursday and Friday and have to use willpower to stick with it. I am now down to 12 stone 3lbs.

I need to reorder this week so will be moving up to 5mg.

That's a bit high for me. There's 4/5g of sugar in a teaspoon, so 3/4 teaspoons of sugar per bottle.....a bit shocking when you look at it like that. I'll stick to eggs 😂 x

madeinthe80z · 03/06/2026 10:37

Morning @2025MUM2025 have you done 1 or 2 pens of 2.5mg then?

I’ve been the same with the hunger but it’s been very up and down through the week and then definitely lessened the last day or 2, so this week I have jabbed in my tummy (I’ve only ever done thighs) as I have read that you can have a better response there so I will report back! I am also considering jabbing my 2.5mg every 6 days for the next few weeks as the way those days fall still works for me and seeing if there’s a difference too. Basically trying to keep to 2.5mg as long as possible but it’s likely my next pen will be a 5mg.

First weigh in and I'm now 86kg. So i think thats roughly 3 pounds loss in a week. That was on a 1.25 mg dose so I do think a fair amount of will power played a part in the last 2 days.

fartotheleftside · 03/06/2026 10:44

I'm three weeks in on 2.5g and have lost 11 pounds, hurray!

Have had pretty horrible side effects (diarrhea and stomach pain mostly, but I do also have IBS) which seem like they are going away.

I don't seem any hungrier particularly. Am wondering whether it's worth going up to 5mg next time I order.

Tulipwood · 03/06/2026 10:58

Did someone here break the mechanism in their pen for the golden dose? I was planning on doing it this week but read that it can mean you take a higher dose because you don’t know how much liquid is left in the pen.

It could be a good thing as 2.5mg feels a bit hit and miss anyway but I’m also not sure about ending up taking a larger dose and then going back down as my next pen is 2.5mg too.

I read there can be up to 0.9ml left in the pen when the full dose is 0.6ml so that would be closer to a 3mg dose

PuppyKeep · 03/06/2026 11:28

Just sent this message to the Asda doctor:

"I have been taking Mounjaro starting dose for 6 days and eating a high protein diet. I have experienced the following:

Days 1-4: Excellent appetite suppression; very poor sleep.
Days 5-6: Very poor appetite suppression; improved sleep.

I'm disappointed that my appetite has fully returned now on Day 6. Do you have any advice?"

I did, husband forced it round to the one, full dose in, and still some left over. He did say he wasn’t entirely convinced that he got a full dose in though, as it didn’t take as long to go in.

I don’t mind though, what’s one day of hunger if it doesn’t quite give enough, I’ll manage.

Boreded · 03/06/2026 11:47

I have found that yesterday and today (I dosed last night) I have been quite hungry, it’s annoying. I hadn’t been the rest of the time but I don’t know if I’m having hormone fluctuations. I don’t have periods (once a year at the most) but I feel like maybe the hormones are coming to get me…hopefully not.

2.5.

ive had no issue with appetite at all until yesterday.

ive got a 5 and a 2.5 pan (got my husband to use the referral code) so not going to go up yet I’ve decided, no point as it works great for me right now.

mollio · 03/06/2026 12:04

Took my second dose of 3.75 from a 5mg pen ( 45 clicks ) and I have to say the suppression lasted the entire week - unbelievable . I’m glad now I didn’t go up to the full 5as it’s hard enough to eat as it is ! Had my consultation for the next pen - they contact you two weeks before it’s due and I pay 50 euro for the prescription to be sent to the pharmacy . I feel like I’m going end up with a pile of pens in the fridge at this rate if I am not using the full dose each time !! Down 1 stone in 6 weeks so am pretty happy . Someone was asking whether you can force the pen to get the golden dose but not know how much is in it . I recommend either counting up the clicks (60 clicks is a full dose no matter what pen you are on, so you can take whatever percentage of 60 you need ) you could also use an insulin needle to withdraw the correct dose ( I did that on my 2.5 pen last month - was v easy , lots of videos on how to do it carefully and hygienically available on TikTok )

If I remember correctly, you are in your 1st week? Like all meds, monj has a half life. Its 5 days for monj, so by day 5, only half of the drug is still circulating in your system and it continues to decline till you take your next dose. Its therefore normal/common to experience less suppression towards the end of the week, especially in the first few weeks of taking it.

The half-life can also be a guide for how long a drug will take to reach a stable level in your body when you first start taking it. Generally, it will take about five times the drug's half-life to build a stable level in your body. Once a drug's level is stable in your body, any early side effects you experience from the drug may start to decrease.

Someone provided an excellent summary much earlier on within this thread who also explained the cumulative effect of each dose. They also included a link to a calculator where you put in your start date dose, how often you take it etc and it calculates how much drug is in your body.

On my first week, I had very similar to you. Good suppression initially, which waned as the week went on. My 4th jab is tomorrow, but I do feel suppression seems to be lasting longer each week. I'm not sure if that helps but it would be interesting to see what ASDA say.
