My first jabs arrived today. Thinking of starting Wednesday which is technically end of April but wanted to start a new group for anyone starting soon!

Nervous but kind of excited for good results. Watched a YouTube video instruction for the pen before, I might get my husband to do it for me!!

Anyone want to join me and share / support each other??

Mixed bag of emotions today for my official weigh day.
I only lost 1lb this week (which is still a loss, I know) but I’m a smidge disappointed.
I already have my new 2.5mg and I 100% regret not biting the bullet and going for the 5mg. This week the suppression has been less and will power has had to do more work.

I did manage to get the “golden dose” out my pen - It was very easy. They had provided 6 needles anyway. It took hardly any effort to push the crack round again to allow me to deliver the 5th dose. That pleased me muchly.

I can reorder again in 4 days. I’m considering ordering the 5mg pen and saving my other one for maintenance when I get to target.

I tried, as others suggested shopping around for a better deal. I put my details into Bolt (including my current prescription) and they refused me. Any other good places to try? I’m worried I’m going to be forced to stay with med express and have to pay higher prices because they will be the only ones to take me. I avoided the price hike for the second pen because my husband used my code haha. My mum not keen to use my code as she would rather not help me out it seems 😂 and she’s going for a random provider instead, but hey ho.

thoughts welcome! Hope everyone is doing ok and welcome to the new comers.

Also in same boat lamenting that I stuck with 2.5 pen for second month with less (if any) suppression. I’m hoping that at least it will prevent regaining the 2kg I lost. Plus I am reminding myself that upping my protein and taking up strength training are good in their own right and doing that was the deal I made with myself if I was going to try out MJ.

madeinthe80z · 01/06/2026 15:57

I haven’t lost any weight for almost 2 weeks and I too have noticed a big change in suppressions this week (week 5) so given that I have used the benefit of the golden dose, I’ve decided to jab today instead of tomorrow whilst I have the 2.5mg one for another month and perhaps jab every 6 days rather than every 7 and see if it makes a difference. Only issue is Tuesday jab day was working well for me so I dunno… I need positive vibes sending to my scales this week please!!

@KittensAndCupcakes @madeinthe80z it’s made me feel a bit better that I’m not the only one . Just wish I’d done what I’m meant to do and do the full 5 rather than messing about with half measures! Let me know how you both get on this week. My plan is to do my next jab a day early and do the full 5

Tulipwood · 01/06/2026 16:20

I feel like I’m not feeling any suppression at all this week either. Really frustrating as I went 2.5mg for another month like you @KittensAndCupcakes and now it feels a waste of money

NettleTea · 01/06/2026 16:33

Bolt wouldnt approve 5mg, they kept me on 2.5 so Im hoping that its going to be OK. Im 2 weeks in to second pen officially (used GD so only started the new one yesterday)

UntilTheVeryEnd · 01/06/2026 17:48

madeinthe80z · 01/06/2026 13:34

Did they say why they’ve refused you @UntilTheVeryEnd seems odd as from what I’ve heard if you have an existing prescription, most providers will allow it

No, just “based on the information you have supplied”
So goodness knows why not… I thought that an existing prescription would be a green light for any provider.
I’m not defeated yet tho - will try another few places before I submit to paying full price at med express

Is anyone finding they’re struggling to sleep?

im on day 4 and haven’t slept well since starting the jabs 4 days ago. It’s like my body knows it’s hungry even if my mind doesn’t.

Ollycat · 01/06/2026 19:16

Well done everyone! Keep going!!

I’ve been sleeping terribly but tbh I’m not a good sleeper. I’ve not felt hungry since I had the jab on Sat. I’ve just worked out my calories for today and they’ve come in just over 1300 which I’m quite happy about As I’ve done a 35 minute weights / strength workout after work (I use Caroline’s Circuits if anyone else does - I really love her classes). My step count during the week isn’t great (secondary school) and is usually between 5000 and 7000 depending on whether I have lunch duty but it’s all very sedate.

Just crossing my fingers that I see some loss before too long and need to make sure I up my water drinking (disadvantage of working in a school is it can be really hard to have the opportunity to go to the loo so need to find way to make it work).

MJNewbie2026 · 01/06/2026 19:50

Everyone’s doing so well which is brilliant. I’ve got a strange question. I keep getting prickling sensations on my shin/calf on one leg and it’s definitely since I’ve been taking 5 mg.
apparently it can be a rare side effect. I just wondered if anyone else has this. I’m also experiencing loads of random cramps in my toes and fingers!?

Have you got a bit of a food journal going at all? 2 weeks without weight loss this early on is pretty unfortunate, maybe there is something you can tweak to help get the boost you need? Could be a worth keeping a note of what you have in case anything jumps out at you (or us here)

Cramping can be due to a lack of salt/electrolytes, especially if you are only drinking water. Try a banana

I was the other way, tired all day every day for a week, then the day after each jab.

NettleTea · 01/06/2026 13:19

look on the monj website as it has all the current welcome offers and prices
https://monj.co.uk/

it would be good if we could do a round robin of referral codes in this group perhaps - might feel a bit less MLM if we know each other from the start, and can help each other with our referrals
I am with Bolt at the moment and have a £40 off referral, which I think could be better as I think its the same as their normal discount - but it does mean you help someone!
I wont put it on here and Im sorry that they refused you @UntilTheVeryEnd but if anyone wants one, just pm me

If you haven’t used Numan already then I can send you a 100 off code.

Yeah I’m using nutracheck and I log everything. I’m managing 100-120g protein per day and am between 1300 and 1600 calories each day but the last 2 weeks I have had 3 events where I have had a ‘few’ drinks (to be fair much less than pre MJ!) but I have still tracked calories on these days and then taken a weekly average and I’m always still under 1600. I’m reluctant to cut my calories further as I don’t want dramatic weight loss but will maybe consider it if no more losses this week. Also it’s been very hot weather and I’ve felt pretty boated and constipated so that could be playing a part too.

How has the 5 been going for you? Did the 2.5 stop working?

Hillsmakeyoustrong · Yesterday 07:21

Im a bit confused about the protein intake. Im also logging with cronometer who puts a limit on it. 1. Too much for your body causes digestive issues 2. You will gain weight if you eat too much even on a calorie restricted diet. 3. It's not great for the kidneys. This is what ive read when I asked chatgpt about protein and explains why I sometimes have gone into the red on cronometer for protein.

Edited to add. I have a 107.2g allowance for protein. That's specific to my body measurements and a calorie limit of 1700 calories (I'm eating more like 1500 most days)

Has anyone asked their prescriber about going to 3.75 or any other clicks-based dose for that matter? ie is there an official opinion on dosing outside the official schedule? I’m thinking ahead to next month and wondering about ordering 5, but gradually going up. It just seems easier in case side effects of 5 are too much. I didn’t have a dreadful time starting at 2.5 (headaches, occasional passing nausea, tired but what’s new on that front), but I am still nervous about dosing up so open to wisdom and experience of others.

I didn’t ask them , but did the click dosing up to 3.75 myself . I’m glad I didn’t go straight to 5 as it definitely suppressed me very well . I actually still feel pretty suppressed this morning and am due to take a shot tonight . Am going to wait until tomorrow morning as I am trying to change the days I take them so that it will align with going on Holiday for a week . I’m not going to take the pen with me . I have been weighing every day - I can’t help it !!! Seems to be 2 lbs a week averaged out over the 5 weeks , goes up and down and then down . A NSV victory is that my jeans are pretty loose and I tried on a dress in Zara and it zipped up easily and looked great ! I was so happy . I didn’t buy it though , v strange for me ! I think my shopping addiction has been helped a lot , I don’t feel the need to buy more and more clothes . I am delighted it’s gone . Planning to shop my wardrobe this summer and maybe towards the end of it treat myself . I’m reading how you are all tracking protein and calories , I have been very bad at that . I have just eaten much less and try to have some protein in my meal . It’s all a bit haphazard and I have to make myself eat sometimes . However I still feel good and wa able to do loads of exercise last week - much much more than usual , it’s like my body tapped into fat burning mode and I was ok . Is there an app people would recommend to track the weight loss ? I have just been typing it into my phone .

Yes, my sleep is worse than usual. Normally if I undereat, I lie in bed feeling hungry and often eventually get up to eat some nuts (apparently no need to brush teeth again with plain nuts). Usually works to go to sleep after that. Now I just lie there, bored and un-entertained by podcasts. Doesn’t occur to me to get up and eat. Like you say, my body knows I’m hungry, but my mind doesn’t.

Also recommending electrolytes. You can slip powder or tablets into water. Some tasty flavours although I’m a cheapskate so just buy the plain powder in bulk and have got used to the taste of drinking sea water…!

Please can you share any good, easy sources of protein. I’m struggling for ideas and have stopped getting to 100 per day, certainly not 112 which is the ideal amount.

I get there more easily than I ever expected. I essnetially eat the same things which means i dont have to think too hard.

My daily diet consists of

Breakfast
Shake (semi skimmed mill, tbsp greek yoghurt, frozen berries, chia seeds, squeeze of honey)
Or
Porridge made with semi skimmed milk, tbsp greek yoghurt, berries and chia seeds

Lunch

Whole tin of tuna or prawns with salad in a wholemeal tortilla wrap and a cup of bone broth (with a drop of heinz canned tomato soup)

Dinner
Chicken with rice or salad or potato

Snacks one or two a day...

Babybel cheese with grapes
Barebell protein bar as suggested by a PP here. They are very good if you like chocolate
Love Corn
Slice of ham with tomatoes
Greek yoghurt
Almond or peanut butter with sliced apple (very calorie dense)

you’ll be able to add in the past weights too and set targets

Tuna, egg, protein juice. Those are my three.

Thank you @Hillsmakeyoustrong @Boreded I need to eat more meat I think! And tuna.
