My first jabs arrived today. Thinking of starting Wednesday which is technically end of April but wanted to start a new group for anyone starting soon!

Nervous but kind of excited for good results. Watched a YouTube video instruction for the pen before, I might get my husband to do it for me!!

Anyone want to join me and share / support each other??

Hello! I’d like to join if that’s okay. Planning on starting tomorrow night (scales arrive tomorrow). Mine is ordered through Boots.
Could I please ask if any of you use a particular app to track calories or nutrition?

I’m thinking I should, in order to keep an eye on whether I’m eating enough protein as apparently that’s key?

Any other tips welcome 😊

Weigh in day for me yesterday. 3lbs off this week so that’s 11lbs in 3 weeks. I’m hoping it will settle at 1.5-2lbs a week. I’m averaging 1300/1400 cals a day although a couple of days have gone to about 1800 if I’m out. Also pretty much sticking to 16/8 intermittent fasting.

@GeraldThePufferSponge good luck for tomorrow. I track everything on My Fitness Pal as I’ve used it on and off for years. I think others prefer Nutracheck.

I got my first MJ from Superdrug. Wanted to go with a company I trusted. Going to order second one tonight. Looked on monj website and am very pulled to the biggest discounts eg Bolt. Have others here bought from Bolt? How will it get to me- I went in and collected the first from the Superdrug pharmacy counter.

It arrives by post. Depending on the provider you may need to be home to sign for it. I’ve had one pharmacy do this and another happy to leave it on the doorstep. It is delivered with insulation and ice packs.

Thanks! Is it obvious what it is from the packaging?

Ladies, I’m tearful. After YEARS of struggling and many months of debate with myself I have finally submitted my first order. I feel at peace at last. I finally made the decision.

Can I join this thread?

Big fan of Nutracheck. It’s about £28 for a year, allows you to track everything and produces lovely graphs showing your progress. It also syncs to my scales and shows my progress not only in weight loss but BMI, muscle mass, bone mass, protein, water etc.

Welcome! You won’t regret it!

PuppyKeep · 25/05/2026 20:14

the food noise, exhaustion, ADHD/autism overwhelm, the constant cognitive load, the frustration of my body not responding proportionally to my efforts (perimenopause) - it’s my time now!

I submitted my order today (Asda, Mounjaro, single pen, starter dose). I gave my GP details as requested. My BMI is 33.

When can I realistically expect to receive the pen?

Greenfingers37 · 25/05/2026 20:16

I received mine about 48 hours after I ordered it.

PuppyKeep · 25/05/2026 20:23

They didn’t ask for photos - is this normal?

Welcome to the group. I ordered my 1st (only pen so far) from swift doctor. I had to submit a video of me saying the date, showing my body (in clothes) in a mirror then step on scales and show the weight. I received my pen at 8:30 AM the next morning!!!

Thanks for the welcome! I’m now 25 hours into the journey and I’m happy I took the plunge. No side effects other than rumbling guts and I’ve done a whole day eating healthily and far less than I’m used to. Like everyone else, I wish I’d done this months ago.

Good luck PuppyKeep, hope you have similar experience.

How fast after taking the injection did your appetite crash?

Are you on MJ?

It hasn’t really crashed - more just slightly dulled. Which could also be the heat I suppose, but I just had a piece of lasagna that was about a quarter of the size I would normally eat and a big load of salad. Not bothered about eating anything else really, which is unusual for me. I am a CHAMPIONSHIP eater 😁

3oldladiesstuckinalavatory · 25/05/2026 21:20

I’m trying to eat protein and veg / fruit and to drink loads of water. I’m not tracking though, I find it a bit triggering, so I’m just going for a scrambled eggs and avocado, skip the bagel approach.

Kitten234 · 25/05/2026 21:20

PuppyKeep · 25/05/2026 21:01

Asda did?

Yep. Maybe there’s a slight delay because of the bank holiday?

Crackery · 25/05/2026 21:45

I’ve just been given this when I ordered. If you’d link the link , pm me. Don’t want to post here as has part of surname in link.

some advice needed….

had my first ever 2.5 jab last Monday. I felt absolutely horrific from Monday night through to Friday night (though from what I’m reading this isn’t very common so if anyone who is about to start is reading this please don’t let it put you off)

I struggled so so much with the most awful nausea, barely ate a thing, achey, exhausted and very down. Had to force myself to just get through every day. On Friday evening it felt like a cloud lifted, and by Saturday morning I felt great.

I was dye my next jab today but just couldn’t face feeling that poorly again, especially given the fact it’s a heatwave and half term and I have all the children at home for the next week.

I have lost 6lbs so I’m v happy about that, question is, would jabbing again on day 10 be a good idea? That would see me through most of half term week.

or, should I expect the 2nd jab to be less dramatic in terms of side effects? Or could it be worse?
