My first jabs arrived today. Thinking of starting Wednesday which is technically end of April but wanted to start a new group for anyone starting soon!

Nervous but kind of excited for good results. Watched a YouTube video instruction for the pen before, I might get my husband to do it for me!!

Anyone want to join me and share / support each other??

Thanks! Is it obvious what it is from the packaging?

I have a code for £40 off with bolt. PM me if you'd like it. X

Hi all and welcome to new joiners / jabbers! You won’t regret it although sorry to hear you had such terrible side effects @Ismo456that does sound unusually bad! My only thought is that the by taking it every 7 days you’re building the medication up in your body, so I’d expect the side effects to lessen as your body acclimatises, whereas if you leave it 10 days then you’ll be “starting again” and perhaps will be more likely to have the same SE? I understand not wanting to do half term etc feeling rubbish though!

Know some of us have been debating whether to stay at 2.5…I’ve gone up to 5mg today, so far not feeling much difference and no worsened side effects but I’ll keep you posted! I felt that as time went on the 2.5 wasn’t giving enough suppression for me so wanted to give 5mg a go…as it stands I’m not planning to go any higher. Anyone else already getting nervous about (eventually) stopping!?

TeamsThemeTune · 25/05/2026 22:44

Out and about today from 8am-8.30pm with the family. I had an iced coffee for breakfast, 2 slices of a pizza shared with DH for lunch (it had anchovies and olives on it and was too salty, which I should have expected to be fair - Duh) and half a shandy, and walked 13,500 steps. We got back too late for dinner, so I'm coming in at an estimated sub-700 calories for the day.

I know this is not the way to go by the way, I've had practically no protein and about half the calories I need - it was a one-off but I just found it interesting that although I could have eaten more, I'm not in the slightest bit bothered that I didn't, which is weird - no nausea or hunger pangs or anything. Maybe I'll be ravenous in the morning.

some advice needed….

had my first ever 2.5 jab last Monday. I felt absolutely horrific from Monday night through to Friday night (though from what I’m reading this isn’t very common so if anyone who is about to start is reading this please don’t let it put you off)

I struggled so so much with the most awful nausea, barely ate a thing, achey, exhausted and very down. Had to force myself to just get through every day. On Friday evening it felt like a cloud lifted, and by Saturday morning I felt great.

I was dye my next jab today but just couldn’t face feeling that poorly again, especially given the fact it’s a heatwave and half term and I have all the children at home for the next week.

I have lost 6lbs so I’m v happy about that, question is, would jabbing again on day 10 be a good idea? That would see me through most of half term week.

or, should I expect the 2nd jab to be less dramatic in terms of side effects? Or could it be worse?

Second one wasn’t so bad. Do it before bed to sleep through the worst of it

Boreded · 25/05/2026 23:36

Hopping from thread to thread to post your link might make people a bit uncomfortable that you aren’t supporting them but rather you are trying to save yourself money.

lots of us are May starters and also have codes but we don’t post them because the purpose of the thread is to support each other on our weight loss, not to try to financially benefit from someone else

I was thinking the same! As a newbie, I've found this thread and similar ones mostly very helpful. I do, however, find the constant referral code offers monotonous and akin to MLM.

MissMogs · 26/05/2026 06:19

I get where you’re coming from on the referrals. I promise I’m genuine - you can check the June 25 thread and see all my posts there, and see my supportive threads here too. I found it really helpful to read others’ experiences when I was starting out so wanted to share the same. I also used others’ codes as it wasn’t something I was aware of early on - I was just using Monj and probably over-paying.
However, point taken and I will stop. I’m sorry if I upset anyone x

WoIsMe · 26/05/2026 06:25

I have to do my second injection today and I’m dreading the needle. I used to have a pretty serious needle phobia so injecting myself is challenging. I’m hoping I’ll get used to it after the first few.

Tulipwood · 26/05/2026 07:24

Hope everyone is enjoying this sunny bank holiday. I am away on holiday this week and my eating has been less than adequate. Hoping I’ve not completely messed up my progress 😭

Rockgrin · 26/05/2026 07:35

Is anyone else getting increased nausea in the heat?

I could barely eat at all yesterday, and feel so thirsty despite constantly drinking.

@Tulipwood I've never managed to 'be good' on holiday. If it's any consolation, any weight gain seems to be more water from eating so differently for a week, and usually drops off quickly. Enjoy your holiday! 😊

fluffiphlox · 26/05/2026 08:20

I did my second jab of 5mg yesterday (6th in total) though I think I cocked it up a bit as there was more liquid left on the skin than usual. I have lost something like 6 lbs in five weeks which is fine by me.
I’m off to Italy tomorrow for a week. I’m hoping not to be too tempted by Aperol Spritz and ice cream, but let’s see.

KOKO everyone.

Still waiting for my first order to be approved (Asda). It’s been less than 24 hours, I’m just impatient 🤦‍♀️

Have you decided to do a half dose @Ismo456 ? I think it’s a good idea for you to try that given your symptoms. Plus make sure you’ve drank loads of water and eaten nice and plain prior and after. So hard trying to manage kids with the thought of side effects as well in this heat, I feel for you :(

KittensAndCupcakes · 26/05/2026 13:08

@Rockgrin yes, the heat is making me slightly more nauseous. And I def have a new version of thirst since starting MJ. Not sure if heat further accelerating it, but MJ has changed my relationship with liquids.

I’m too hot to scroll back and find who posted the question about packaging, but in answer to your question, my pen came in comedically large packaging. A big brown box (approx 2 x size of kids shoe box) with wool insulation
wrapped around the pen and - from memory - also some kind of cool pack inside there. Due to be sent another this week. Given the weather, they’ll need to wrap it up in a gigantic box!! I got mine through Well Pharmacy. Other folks - what have your providers been wrapping the pens in?

I ordered my first pen on a Saturday around lunch time from Asda, it arrived Sunday morning!

CherryViper · 26/05/2026 16:05

Please may I join?

I am a restarter and have two weeks under my belt. I started with two other people irl. They lost 8lb (bigger) and 6lb (smaller) in teh first week. I lost 1.8lbs, I was slow before two.

Next jab is Wednesday night. I'm writing every single thing I eat or drink down in a notebook. I have scales that can track trends, BMI, body fat etc.

PuppyKeep · 26/05/2026 16:22

Im still waiting. Booo

3oldladiesstuckinalavatory · 26/05/2026 17:22

I'm on day 2 and my liquid intake has gone a bit weird too @fluffiphlox I'm thirsty and drinking loads but never feel like I've quite drunk enough, if you know what i mean. I was up all night peeing as well, which isn't ideal.

I ordered from Care Pharmacy, they sent it in a standard brown envelope, with insulation and a cool pack.

I have a question... how do you all keep your protein levels up?

Maybe get in touch with them? My first order was with medicine marketplace and there was an issue with their website where everyone who ordered in that day, their info didn’t go through properly. I rang up, sorted it and then had it the next day!

It’s hard but I’ve now managed to get to 100-120g per day now by having variations of:

breakfast: protein yoghurt, chia seeds and fruit / eggs and smoked salmon or ham / protein drink and fruit

lunch: chicken or prawn salad (sometimes with a protein wrap or protein flatbread) / cottage cheese / protein ready meal

dinner: MyProtein ready meal or normal dinners with meat and veg as a priority

i discovered at the weekend the barbells chocco protein bar which is fabulous if you still like a bit of chocolate. It’s 200kcal and 16g protein!

OP posts:
KittensAndCupcakes · 26/05/2026 18:17

@3oldladiesstuckinalavatory protein-wise, try asking an AI for a week’s menu with however many grams of protein you want per day. Just keep asking it and telling it your personal preferences.

KittensAndCupcakes · 26/05/2026 18:22

@3oldladiesstuckinalavatory I’d add to that… I’ve started weighing foods to make sure I’m getting the right amount of protein. Also I’ve found protein powder useful. I get unflavoured vegan ones and add to plain yogurt and fruit.

7238SM · 26/05/2026 18:29

Someone asked about delivery packaging. I can only comment on my one and only order thus far, from swift doctor. Sent form/video/payment through day 1 and it was delivered at 8:30 the next morning!

Driver rang the door bell but left it at the front door- no signature. Cardboard box slightly smaller than a shoe box with a wool, insulation bag and a little frozen brick and medication inside. The delivery label did have the senders address as Swift Doctor, Yorkshire etc, but nothing to indicate what was inside. Note that my dog took a great interest in the woollen insulation bag and tried running off with it! 😬
