My first jabs arrived today. Thinking of starting Wednesday which is technically end of April but wanted to start a new group for anyone starting soon!

Nervous but kind of excited for good results. Watched a YouTube video instruction for the pen before, I might get my husband to do it for me!!

Anyone want to join me and share / support each other??

Hi! I started Mounjaro last week.

SW: 96KG
Height: 176cm
BMI: 32

Goal Weight: 60 KG / BMI 20

I've gained an incredible amount of weight, and I think contributing factors are being on the Depo injection since 2022 and taking Mirtazipine for depression.

I've stopped the Depo, last injection was 12 weeks ago, and plan to stop Mirtazipine over the next few months. So these changes long with Mounjaro should be a winner?!

KittensAndCupcakes · 21/05/2026 09:37

@JojoButBetter welcome, hope the MJ works well for you

Perfectstorm72 · 21/05/2026 09:46

Have had 3 jabs of 2.5 now, barely any food noise until later in the day so I’m basically fasting overnight and into late afternoon at least. Have only lost 2lb so far but now trying to increase water to 2 litres a day to see if that helps. Suppose I should also cut down on the rosè as well 🫣 although somehow the noise reduction doesn’t seem to work on wine!! Good luck everyone 🙌🏼🙏🏼

fluffiphlox · 21/05/2026 10:01

I’m feeling quite unwell today: bloated, nauseous, headachey and lethargic.
But so is my husband! He’s not on the jabs so I think we may have a bug.

Can I please join here?

My start weight was 13st 2 in mid Jan (after having a baby last year) and I lost a around 6/7 pounds by myself before I started on Mounjaro in February. I had to stop dieting after a few weeks but was given the all clear by the doctors a couple of weeks ago to restart. So I restarted on 9th May at 12st 10.

My stats so far:

SW: 12st 10
CW: 12st 5
GW: 10 stone

I have had no symptoms so far apart from a bit of constipation but enjoying being free of the food noise!

Fivetoomany · 21/05/2026 16:38

Hi everyone. I hope everyone is feeling full and not wanting to snack 😂 I’ve ordered my first pen from assured pharmacy, they were great but I didn’t want to pay the full price for my second pen, so I’ve jumped across to Numan. Here is £100 off your first order if any one else wants to try. I ordered the 5mg but will count clicks and continue on 2.5mg. With the £100 off this worked out at £127.88 which felt like a good price for the 5mg pen.

Well, today I’ve learnt a valuable lesson…Chinese takeaway and MJ do NOT mix. Had a very modest portion(noodles, teeny bit of rice, couple bits of peking chicken and a spring roll) Felt sick as a dog as soon as I ate it and 10 mins later my head was in the toilet. I’d only had a skyr yogurt all day… thought a small portion be ok but nope. Sad times

Are you me? I started with exact same stats 😆

@UntilTheVeryEnd Yikes! Thanks for the warning. Hope you are feeling ok now.

KittensAndCupcakes · 21/05/2026 19:22

@2025MUM2025 @UntilTheVeryEnd our very own stat twins! 😆

TeamsThemeTune · 21/05/2026 20:51

@MrsBuntyS I hope you and your husband can have a relaxing weekend. It sounds like you have had a very stressful time of it.

I have only managed 882 calories today - and just 38g of protein. The fridge is bare as the weekly shop isn't due until Saturday, and I'm feeling stuffed after sea bass, broccoli and mash for dinner. Despite that, I'm eyeing up the wine bottle... it seems MJ doesn't work on that bit of the 'noise' for some of us.

@UntilTheVeryEnd I'm planning a curry tomorrow night (not takeaway), but you have me worried now!

KittensAndCupcakes · 21/05/2026 21:34

@TeamsThemeTune I’ve been fine with curry. In curry house and home made. Hope you will be too!

Fivetoomany · 21/05/2026 21:54

Here is the numan link if anyone was interested. https://www.numan.com/refer/REF-P7JNYQFE

MissMogs · 22/05/2026 06:28

I have another Numan link if anyone would like it. They’ve just increased the referral bonus to £120, so you’ll save £100 by using it and then save £120 each month by referrals!

Hi. I hope it’s okay to join this thread. I started last week. First jab on Thursday 14th. I only had it at 10am and when lunchtime came I could only manage a couple of spoonfuls. I have had the awful sulphur burps but they eased off after a couple of days. I have struggled to eat most days as no appetite at all. First week and I’ve lost 51/2lbs which I’m made up with but I’m happy with slow and steady.
SW 12 s 1
CW 11 9.5
TW 10
Im Type 2 diabetic and was struggling to control my glucose levels. This has had a dramatic effect and I have been below 7 everyday which is fantastic.
I have been drinking loads of water. I’ve bought some protein powders to try and some collagen.
Husband is also on MJ and has been for longer.
Is there anyone else Type 2 and finding it’s helping them too?

peonym · 22/05/2026 08:02

@TeamsThemeTuneI agree on the wine front, although I am much happier swapping my crisps or chocolate for a small glass these days 😂

@UntilTheVeryEnd the price we pay 😭 hope you’re feeling ok today. I haven’t tried a takeaway yet, but was hoping to tomorrow.

first week of 5mg and all is well, no side effects.

SW: 14,11
CW: 14,8
GW: 10,7

have been horribly constipated for the last 2 days. after some advice from the other thread (Im hovering between the april and may one) I got some fibogel last night and this morning have just had my usual yoghurt, but with a kiwi fruit and some prunes.... hopefully things will improve. its not normal for me to not go daily, so it makes me anxious

7238SM · 22/05/2026 10:17

@NettleTea I know what you mean. I normally go to the loo at least daily so not going is very unusual for me. Sounds odd but I'm considering starting a poo diary (not troll I promise) just to keep track. I didnt go for nearly 2 days last week and felt dreadful- bloated stomach ache etc but a dose of movicol helped. I also have a squatty potty (I posted a link up thread) which also helps alot.

@Fab53 Welcome. I only had my 1 jab on 15th so we are almost twins. I'm not diabetic but my husband is. May I ask, did you buy yours online or get it via your GP? They put my DH on semiglutide tablets. He asked about jabs but was told no. He has high blood pressure high cholesterol, high BMI, sleep apnoea and uses a CPAP! His sugars have been great but he has only lost a small amount of weight on the pills. Anyways, if you read back through this thread you will find find lots of helpful info from other newbies like us x

Hi.
I have got mine through the diabetic nurse. I was on the highest dose of metformin but not tolerating it. I am also glicazide too. There is a third medication they wanted me to try but because it would have caused me more problems it was thought best to put me on mj. I was also wanting to lose the weight as I know this is a big contributor to my diabetes. Husband is paying for his.

TeamsThemeTune · 22/05/2026 11:05

W1 weigh-in 1.8kg/3.97lbs down. That's good isn't it!
Jab 2 done.

I've just realised I'm going to have to phone the travel insurance and tell them I'm on MJ. Ugh.

Kitten234 · 22/05/2026 11:19

I’m prone to constipation so have been taking a movicol sachet every morning since I started and it’s kept me regular every morning .
Week 3 weigh in for me this morning and have lost just under 4 pounds this week, so nearlly 11 pounds in 3 weeks.

Am going to make a conscious effort to increase my calories from now on as I would rather it come off a bit slower. I know if I lose it too quickly it will go back on quickly too.

Delaying my next jab until Sunday as planning on having a few drinks tomorrow night. Interested to see how hungry I am until I take it.

Really? Is something everyone needs to do who takes it? 🤔

Apparently so. I have phoned them though, and they said they didn't need to note it if it was a private pharmacy prescription used for weight management. If it had been prescribed for a 'condition' (e.g. diabetes) then it would have to be noted.

I guess all insurers are different, but I have read a few articles which say you should declare it - it won't necessarily affect the premium (it didn't mine), but you don't want to find yourself in a sticky spot if for example, you end up with gallstones or pancreatitis and have to cancel your holiday, or need hospital treatment while you are away. Insurers will do anything to get out of paying a claim, so leave no doubt is my advice.

If you don’t mind it, eat the kiwi skin as well to help with constipation. Psyllium husk mixed with water is another good natural solution but don’t be afraid to try something like lactulose or movicol which can gently get things moving again.

I have found myself drinking loads of Coke Zero. I used to drink a couple if glasses of wine a night but have swapped for coke zero. I'm a bit obsessed . It gasnt affected weight loss as I'm 6lb down in only 7 days.

Anyone else found a new 'crutch'?
