My first jabs arrived today. Thinking of starting Wednesday which is technically end of April but wanted to start a new group for anyone starting soon!

Nervous but kind of excited for good results. Watched a YouTube video instruction for the pen before, I might get my husband to do it for me!!

Anyone want to join me and share / support each other??

I haven’t read through yet, but just popping in to say hello. Just about to do my jab before bed so I can sleep through the sickness.
12lbs down so far, hoping to get to 102.

Yesterday I was so thirsty and I drank so much water. This morning my face looks much less puffy and I have a bit of a jawline. I’m shocked 😆

Has anyone found week 3 to be a bit weird? Yesterday I felt like every ounce of energy was stripped from my body, the tummy gurgles, burping and now diarrhoea (sorry tmi) were insane. I’m all over the place 🥴

ByNiftyPombear · Yesterday 07:21

@UntilTheVeryEnd no diarrhoea but was sick yesterday (only second time it’s happened since week 1). And same with the energy level. It’s a struggle. Also feeling cold to the extreme in the evening. Must be it building up in our systems.

Aw no! Being sick is the worst… and being so cold must be awful too.
I’m hoping that it doesn’t last as I’ve been ok so far… Never thought about the accumulative effect.

@Tulipwood same here with the intense thirst. Sadly I’ve yet so seen facial definition but living in hope.

I find week 3 slightly strange in that I didn’t really feel anything after my jab and I feel the most hungry since I started. However through the whole of the week as soon as I started eating I felt full really quickly and that lasted and built up over the week. week 4 day 2 today and only managed half of my breakfast so far but I just pop it in the fridge and have the rest in an hour or so and that works for me!

In terms of side effects - were they the worst after your first jab and got progressively less with each jab (until upping dosage) or do the side effect stay the same each time, or get worse?

KittensAndCupcakes · 19/05/2026 21:56

@mollio I’m too cautious and inexperienced to do any fiddling with needles, etc. But just today, I was thinking that rather than 5mg in one go, surely 2.5mg every 3-4 days would be better. I might ask the pharmacist. Clearly would not be keen to spend 2 x 2.5mg pens for a month, but could the 5mg be spread out more gently across the week?? Thoughts, anyone?

there is a calculator somewhere which tells you how many clicks there are to get the right dosage. let me see if I can find it.

The side effects have definitely reduced each week for me. I took my 4th jab yesterday and the only side effect I have is I’m freezing (always get that day 2!) week 1 was nausea and stomach cramps (settled with rennie), week 2 was the same but not as severe, week 3 was pretty much nothing same as this week.

Results are in for my first weigh in since my first jab last Wednesday. 3.5lbs down and I’m happy with that. Slow and steady wins the race. Just so relieved that it’s working! Total game changer!

RhannionKPSS · Yesterday 14:16

What foods should I absolutely avoid?

RhannionKPSS · Yesterday 14:45

Thank you

ShakySwan · Yesterday 14:46

Ugh. I did my 3rd jab on Sunday and I still feel terrible. The pattern seems to be:
monday - Tuesday - feel proper sick all the time but also still starving
wednesday - sickness less but exhausted
thursday - Friday - sickness less and some sort of appetite suppression but minimal
saturday - Sunday - feeling ok but starving

is it going to get better? I am grumpy tired and not fun to be around at all. I’ve lost some weight but not sure this can be my life!

Oh no, that sounds rubbish :(

Aside from being really unlucky, only things I can think of (sorry if not applicable) are you drinking enough water? I find I have to drink 3+ litres to feel good. What are you eating? I have read certain people can’t tolerate certain foods and drinks (e.g. fizzy drinks, caffeine, chocolate, fried foods, pasta and bread etc)

Have you tried pepto bismol / omeprozole / indigestion relief as it can help nausea massively?

NettleTea · Yesterday 16:23

as for foods to avoid, its more like food that makes me feel shit the next day. so I had some chips the other night and had really awful stomach ache in the night, plus last night I had a meal which wasnt too high in calories, it was eaten a bit late, but it wadnt THAT late, but the sauce was rich and had lots of cream, butter and milk in it - think it was too rich or fatty. Again horrible stomach ache last night.

Ive had a lovely new for me dress delivered from vinted. I wondered how long it would fit as it’s my current size 20 ( getting a little hopeful that maybe could work).

Luckily the dress is lovely, sadly I think it’ll will fit for a while as it’s pretty snug. I will hang it in my wardrobe and enjoy it !

I don’t think I fully realised how much I’ve been hiding in stretchy baggy clothes. I suspect I’m at least a dress size bigger and that I’ve stretched out my clothes over the last year or two!

I need to brave the dreaded tape measure so I can tell if I do drop a dresssize as it turns out I’m not really sure what size I am !!

So, W1 D5 for me, and I'm just about managing to eat around 1,000 calories.

I find that a flat white in the morning is enough for breakfast, and today I was looking forward to lunch, but was then completely stuffed after 2 hard boiled eggs and a few prawns, so the satiety thing seems to work pretty well for me.

I still feel full now and have no interest in dinner, but will have to force something down as I've only had 440 calories today (and knowing me I'll make up the difference in wine and then feel shit).

Jab 2 and week 1 weigh in due Friday morning (after a poo of course) - stay tuned folks!

KittensAndCupcakes · Yesterday 20:16

Had a rotten afternoon of it. A terrible headache to the point that was googling all kinds of nasty health conditions and convincing myself something dreadful was happening. Then had a sleep for 1.5 hours and feel human again. The only thing I have done differently today is eaten cake. Was at a memorial service and someone had baked and felt rude not to partake. Had a fair bit of post-cake nausea this afternoon as well. Whilst in my sick bed, I resolved to stay on 2.5mg dose and see how I go. I’m not in a rush and this was beyond the pale!

@ShakySwan your post was echoing in my sore head - I cannot have more of this kind of debilitating pain.

@NettleTea sounds like you are quite sensitive to certain foods too.

@TeamsThemeTune wow, your suppression is a lot more than mine! Hope your post 💩 weigh in brings good news.

@Hensandhearth I’ve no idea either what size I am. Feel like I live continuously in same baggy clothes.

would love to acknowledge everyone’s posts, but home clean up operation needs to happen now… 😏

Had my first jag this evening, fingers crossed it won’t make me sick , got rid of all sweet things in the house but did have eggs and bacon for my tea with no toast and will be buying skinned milk etc tomorrow, got Rennies in and laxatives just incase.

MrsBuntyS · Today 08:48

Hi everyone! I’ve had my second jab this morning. I was ok last week apart from crippling heart burn. Absolutely horrendous and nearly fainting in Tesco on Sunday. Not great.

I have had to completely give up coffee and also any cream, butter etc. I was so ill when pregnant and it feels like that but with heartburn not nausea. I am terrified of gallstones and pancreatitis so I am going slowly and trying to be super health with my food choices.

My poor husband is losing his sight and had an emergency operation this week so it’s been a tough one. Argh. Also BH weekend without a big piss up is going to be very odd. DH needs to be off the sauce until his eye is healed so that will make it easier.

I am seeing results, have lost 7lb in a week but it has been difficult and I have felt dreadful at times. Onwards and downwards though!

madeinthe80z · Today 08:49

@RhannionKPSS hope it was an event free night for you and you’re feeling okay 👌

@KittensAndCupcakes hopefully your headache has all cleared up and you’re back to normal now!
