My first jabs arrived today. Thinking of starting Wednesday which is technically end of April but wanted to start a new group for anyone starting soon!

Nervous but kind of excited for good results. Watched a YouTube video instruction for the pen before, I might get my husband to do it for me!!

Anyone want to join me and share / support each other??

@UntilTheVeryEnd interesting - I haven’t been able to stomach tea and don’t drink coffee, but love a hot drink, so maybe you’re on to something!

Thanks @NettleTeaI’ll message you. How much do you get for the referral? If my husband uses your code for his next one (he needs to order this week) - he could then refer me and then save himself on his next pen maybe?

I don’t know about Bolt, but for Numan it’s £100 off, and you can then refer others and get £100 discount yourself for each person you refer. They stack up but you can only use one per month. I think I shared my Numan code below, but pm me if you’d like it x

I might go for this one next, although do you need to sign up for a course? Bolt allow me to suspend delivery and then start up again, they have said,

It says it’s a subscription, but in the app there’s a button to “pause” it so very straightforward. I also found when I paused before that they then offered me further discounts (without referrals) for the following 2 months - which worked out cheaper than the next cheapest on Monj. With that and the £100 discount per month on referrals, it’s worked out well to stick with them for now.

MissMogs · 18/05/2026 21:44

Not sure if image will load, but this is what it looks like in the Numan app - very easy to suspend if you decide to buy elsewhere. They were also fine with prescribing after a gap in ordering. I stocked up last August just before the price increases, so didn’t order for a few months!

Hensandhearth · 18/05/2026 12:35

@NettleTea @peonym I have substantial amount to lose 5 stone for a healthy BMI and probably another 1/2 to a stone to feel right.

However, I finding that a bit hard to imagine. So I’m currently focusing on the first 2 stone! I’m not sure I can visual myself slim yet it’s been a long time!

I can also relate! I was slim in my “youth” and then my mum passed away when I was in my mid twenties and everything went downhill from there. Perhaps some undiagnosed trauma which started my emotional overeating! In any event, I’m excited to feel slim. Before my pregnancy last year I had gone from 18st something to 12st7 on MJ and a lot of exercise and I remember the first time I tucked a tshirt into my jeans and didn’t think that looked horrendous 😂

Ismo456 · 19/05/2026 06:42

Any recommendations to help with the nausea?

was up half the night feeling so sick, similar to a really bad hangover. Have woken feeling slightly better but still feel sick, stomach is bubbling, I feel hot and now I’m starting to get really anxious and panicky (I have health anxiety anyway)

scared of this is going to get worse 😩

KittensAndCupcakes · 19/05/2026 09:06

@Ismo456 hello, dear, and welcome. So sorry to hear the nausea has hit hard although sounds like it’s a bit better this morning. The anxiety might be from raised heart rate which is a common side effect. (Did they ask you for your resting heart rate when you got your prescription?)

With health anxiety in the mix, these things probably feel really disorienting and worrying, but may be the early side effects which will pass and your body is strong and will handle all this and be just fine. Do you have strategies for managing the anxiety? Calming meditations or yoga or something soothing.

You’re not alone in feeling anxious nor in having side effects like nausea, bubbly tummy, feeling hot and faster heart rate (if that is what is happening for you). We’re on your side with all this and hopefully it will pass and you will feel safer soon and see the physical effects as changing weather conditions rather than as a sign of something going wrong. 💚💚

Thank you so much - I’m actually feeling much less sicky now and tempted to try an eat something soon but it sure what will sit right in my tummy

madeinthe80z · 19/05/2026 10:22

@Ismo456 definitely make sure you eat even if it’s just something small as you’ll start feeling sickly because you are hungry otherwise!

I’ve just done my first injection. I had a wobble when I saw the needle even though it’s tiny! I’m such a wuss about needles. Please tell me you get used to it.

KittensAndCupcakes · 19/05/2026 11:24

Hello Woolsme (for some reason I can’t use the ‘at’ symbol with your user name) Well done. Hope it gets easier. First time I was so intimidated I had to have my husband there in case I bailed when I saw the needle. Second time much easier and by third time I felt like an old hand.

MrsO2b · 19/05/2026 12:19

Second jab yesterday, first weigh-in this morning. 3.5lbs down. I know it's usual to lose more in the first week or 2 of a diet, then it slows down, but I'll take that!

Very minimal side-effects in week one. I was very cold and a bit headachy for the first couple of days, and a bit "bunged up" towards the end of last week, but nothing drastic and completely manageable. I didn't really notice suppression until about the 4th/5th day, but it's there now and I'm finding it fairly easy to resist junk, in fact I don't really fancy anything sweet, which is a miracle as sweet things are my downfall. It was my son's birthday on Saturday and I saved my piece of birthday cake for later because I didn't fancy it. I just threw it away this morning - I totally forgot it was there! What is this witchcraft?!
Excited to see what this week brings and wishing everyone lots of luck. Onwards and downwards 😁
I have a code for £40 off with bolt if anybody needs/wants it. Just PM me. X

WoIsMe · 19/05/2026 12:39

Thank you @KittensAndCupcakesI’ve gone and bought some numbing cream from Boots for next week as I used to have a needle phobia and I feel I need to psychologically protect myself since it took a lot of work to get over the phobia. The first time I wore a CGM, I applied it way too hard in my panicked state and gave myself a bruise.

madeinthe80z · 19/05/2026 12:49

Hi all - it’s weigh day and jab day number 4 for me :) I didn’t think I’d done so well this week but very happy with 1.5lb off! I’d like to try and get another lb or 2 this week so I can get into the 12 stone bracket. My next milestone is 12 stone as that’s the lowest I made it down to going it alone last year (before putting a stone and a half back on 🤦‍♀️)

Week 1 -4lb
Week 2 -3lb
Week 3 -1.5lb

@MrsO2b I hear you on the witchcraft - I'm only on day two, but yesterday and today I've logged 'half a galaxy bar'. I don't think I've ever had a piece of galaxy chocolate and felt 'that's enough I'll put it back in the cupboard'!

Will be interesting to see how things go when I'm busier with work though (I have a bad habit of feeling stressed at work and going for a walk and buying chocolate)

Oooh, that's serious! 😂

mamauplift · 19/05/2026 15:48

Hi!

I had my first mj jab at lunchtime yesterday. Just over 24 hours later I've had zero side effects so far, and not feeling hungry though making sure I'm eating 3 meals and drinking plenty of squash. I have struggled with my weight for a couple of years, and finally decided last week to try this as a last resort 😊

7238SM · 19/05/2026 16:36

To those talking about discount codes etc, don't forget if you are a blue light club member, some places also offer discounts.

Bolt says £50 off your 1st order if you subscribe and £30 off otherwise
Pharmacy 2U- 10% off
Lloyds Pharmacy- 15% off
Medexpress- 35% off etc

I only mention it because I always forget to check what I can get discounts on.

madeinthe80z · 19/05/2026 16:51

You couldn’t write this….postman literally banged on the door delivering my next pen as I had my 4th jab in my thigh!! So I think I took it out too quickly and some was on my leg afterwards. I really hope I’ve got a full and proper dose 😭

Kicking myself for not checking my blue light card before buying from Bolt! Wasn't a bad price anyway though. PM me if you want my discount code. X

mollio · 19/05/2026 21:26

How is everyone ? I’m so happy to have someplace to talk about this as I’m trying to be discreet . I told a group of friends when I started and actually really regret doing so , as they started the usual “worried / negative “ comments .l was raging I told them !!
So…. I was very brave 🤪 and used one of the insulin needles I bought to withdraw the golden dose in my pen , have injected one day early this week , am planning to maybe move up a does next week as I have a stronger pen , but will see . Scary needle was longer , but hopefully all is fine ! I didn’t want to waste the dose . I have also bought more pen tips to use smaller doses from the larger pen ( so maybe 2.5 doses x8 from my 5mg pen ) depending on what my suppression is like this week . It’s weird but the last week I had very strong suppression and was also v sick the first day . I think maybe because it builds up in your system . Anyone else thinking of doing the same ?

KittensAndCupcakes · 19/05/2026 21:56

@mollio I’m too cautious and inexperienced to do any fiddling with needles, etc. But just today, I was thinking that rather than 5mg in one go, surely 2.5mg every 3-4 days would be better. I might ask the pharmacist. Clearly would not be keen to spend 2 x 2.5mg pens for a month, but could the 5mg be spread out more gently across the week?? Thoughts, anyone?

NeedToChangeWays · 19/05/2026 22:17

Just checking in
4th jab today and for the 1st time ever it hurt.
Symptoms have lessened each jab but definitely suppression wearing off last 2 days. Will stick to 2.5 for the 2nd pen as work just too busy, and side effects 1st wk weren't great. 2.5 working for me so far

Wk 1 - 7lbs
Wk 2 - 1 lbs
Wk 3 - 3lbs.
Total loss since I started 11 lbs. Very happy with that
